Customer service can be great or pretty bad - it just depends on who you get. Hotel has an amazing coffee machine - unfortunately it’s not maintained and stocked, so often broken or without supplies.

Bed sheets had stains on them and room was dusty. I asked for new sheets at front desk and for a clean up and was met with rudeness. No one changed the sheets or dusted room. Will not stay here again. Overall Bad Experience.

Going back to my old Medford stomping grounds and stayed at this hotel as part of my apres birthday celebration. Modern industrial design with personality. Clean, airy and open. Professional and polite front desk staff. The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds comfortable enough with slightly overstuffed pillows. Large bathroom with separate commode and shower (with confusing shower controls). Pool access is through the gym and both looked clean. The complimentary pantry was a little hard to find and underwhelming. Parking - $50/night is a bit much for several nights stay. You can drop off passengers and luggage at the front entrance, but may have to wait for a spot if it's busy. Just park on the street and set reminders to move your car. We had no problems finding spaces. Pets - We were able to take our pooch and there is a park a couple of blocks away - watch out for the killer geese though. Unlike some hotels, you can leave your pet unattended as long as they are caged and well behaved. This hotel is close to the orange line of the T which runs into Boston and in the middle of a retail district with plentiful restaurants, entertainment and retail. There is also a family play area right across the street with pickle ball courts and plenty of room for little ones to run off energy. Recommend and will stay again.

From the moment I arrived, I noticed a significant difference in the level of hospitality compared to previous stays. The front desk staff was not welcoming, and unfortunately that set the tone for the rest of my visit. The room itself was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, and I found hair in the shower before I had even used it. The rooms are fairly standard in size, surrounded by other buildings with no meaningful view, and street noise is noticeable throughout the night. There is also a nearby train that woke me much earlier than I had planned after a long day of travel. Because my work meetings changed, I needed to extend my stay by one night. I was told the hotel had no availability, so I decided it made more sense to shorten my reservation and move to another hotel rather than relocate after just two nights. Despite this, the hotel charged me for the second night and refused to waive the cancellation fee. Even after Marriott Bonvoy contacted the property on my behalf, management declined to make an exception. Those small gestures of customer service are what build loyalty, and this was a missed opportunity. As a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member who is typically Titanium or Ambassador Elite, I pay close attention to elite benefits. This property offers no complimentary elite breakfast and no concierge lounge. For a hotel charging over $300 per night before taxes, plus a $25 destination amenity fee and $58 per night for valet parking, I expected a much higher level of service. I stayed at this hotel several years ago and had a wonderful experience, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, the quality of customer service has declined considerably. My interaction was primarily with Logan at the front desk, who informed me that managers Beth Osborne and Christopher Elysee agreed with the decision not to waive the charge. The location is also something to consider. While technically convenient to Somerville, it is well outside the main Boston attractions. Between expensive parking and Uber costs, staying here can become significantly more expensive than choosing a hotel within walking distance of downtown. Ultimately, my biggest disappointment wasn’t the room or the fees—it was the lack of hospitality. Customer service is what keeps guests coming back, and unfortunately this stay convinced me that I won’t return.

Valet damaged my 80k car. No response from management or anything. Not happy. Also charge 20 percent service fees for breakfast when you eat at restaurant.

Clean, good location

I had payed for my hotel in advance and the hotel told me this was not done which is false as I had payed for my stay one month before. Although at start they said there was no problem and that I should not worry( i provided proof I had payed), to my surprise they charged my credit card again and therefore I had to call and are still waiting for a proof that they will be cancelling the charge. This is concerning as if it were not because I review my credit card charges often, this charge could have finalized( and can still finalize). Please kindly Dont make customers pay for your inability of doing things appropriate. in my eyes double charging a client is FRAUD. Kindly fix this issue ASAP.

The bar area was boring in the evening, so we went to the restaurant next door, Posto.

The rooms were clean & quiet, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was lovely and the closeness to the public transit was so convenient. We would stay here again.

Every single staff member was genuinely exceptional in hospitality. We were there with our 2 grandkids. There was a special kid buffet for breakfast and they each received toys! There is a very nice bar in the lobby and a 24 hour snack shop. I have to say that this hotel has one of the BEST showers we have ever experienced (and we travel a lot). We had a 2 queen room that was very spacious and had extra seating. Definitely would love to stay again!

Very nice modern hotel on the nice location. Neighborhood is full of restaurants and shops. Metro is very near. We liked pastries and coffee. I suggest this hotel.

We stayed at Assembly Row in January of 2026 in connection with a wedding being held at the venue. The check-in experience was chaotic, disorganized, and shockingly rude. Despite dozens of wedding guests arriving at the same time, there was only one front desk agent on duty. I carried all of our luggage in myself without any assistance or offer of help from valet or bell staff. I then waited while the guests ahead of me repeatedly attempted to check in due to multiple declined credit cards, even leaving the desk to retrieve additional cards, with no acknowledgment or apology from the front desk agent for the delay. When it was finally my turn, I was told I could not check in because the reservation was under my husband’s name, despite my having the confirmation number, his credit card, and being the person who made the reservation. I was instructed to have him call the front desk and then asked to step aside so other guests could be checked in after I had already waited an extended period. I politely declined and waited while my husband called from a haircut appointment. Throughout this interaction, the front desk agent was rude and condescending, even asking whether I was “actually in the wedding,” which was irrelevant and inappropriate. At the same time, the bridal party and wedding guests were flooding the lobby for pictures, further highlighting the complete lack of planning or crowd management. My husband is a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member, and while we expect a higher level of service based on that status, at a minimum we expect basic courtesy and professionalism. This experience was deeply frustrating and cast a shadow over what should have been a celebratory evening. The hotel itself is adequate; room was clean and decent but the halls and rooms are dark and dismal. It gives the vibe of an elevated Hampton Inn that's trying to be a bit more stylish. I would not recommend this property for either events or overnight stays.

Love the unusual decor. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Gym is spacious and clean. I loved the separate cycling studio 2 bikes/one screen with the selection of prerecorded rides! Water bottles provided. No water bottle filling stations in hotel so be prepared. The sinks aren’t deep enough for H2O bottle filling. My suggestions for improvements include extra blankets because the room was cold but it was 7 degrees outside; pillows are HUGE! Too thick/big to actually sleep on for your average person. We put some towels in a pillowcase. There are no luggage racks in the room. We had to move a towel stool from the bathroom to put a suitcase on; and some hooks for towels or steaming clothes from. No iron /board provided. Just a steamer. Plan on a possible long walk to your room due to layout. If walking is a challenge, I suggest you ask for a room near the elevator.!

The hotel is beautiful and well appointed. I wished I could have stayed an extra day to explore the area. I would stay at this hotel again. The front desk personnel even remembered my name when I returned from a short outing several hours long.

The breakfast, you have 25$ you can use a day, but we endup not using it at all, they give you two option for breakfast, buffet or you can order room service, we entered the buffet but it was very limited one, just few main dishes. So there isn’t many diversity can customize to different nationality guests

The breakfast served every day at the hotel is wonderful and delicious and the staff is very attentive.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful… It was still decorated in all its Christmas glory with lights and a tree and beautiful tasteful declarations. It is modern with an industrial feel but so cozy with an exceptional restaurant and bar in the lobby as well as a beautiful state of the art fitness room yoga room with video lead classes in the pool is adorable with cabanas all set up and chairs and an outdoor terrace. The rooftop was also beautiful even though it was off-season. The view is gorgeous. I can’t say enough about the staff there either everyone was exceptional. There was a wedding party there on our floor during our stay who got slightly rowdy, which was unfortunate, but I would definitely come back again!!

The facility itself was very clean fresh and modern. The facility is off of Main Street and there is parking next-door. I like the location of it because you are close by good outdoor stores like CVS Sephora Trader Joe’s and a TJ Maxx.

It’s not the property, rather the food allowance taken out of my account and then expires by noon if not used all up in the morning. It was a very confusing system. I assumed it was to encourage guests to eat on site, but the breakfast was not very good and they’re competing with nearby restaurants and cafes. But then, if we wanted a snack from the lobby market later, the food credit was expired. I’m sure there is a better system to put in place. That one is very annoying. Outside of that, the team was helpful and kind and the facilities were very comfortable, up to date, warm and inviting.

We had a fabulous stay at the Row Hotel, we were warmly greeted by Deepa, enjoyed conversations with Victor, Mike, Christopher and Sarah all so friendly first thing in the morning as we had our pup with us out on our 6 am walks. Our room was spotless and the bed and lines are UBER comfortable. Highly recommend staying here, making our Christmas holiday celebrated with such ease and comfort! The common area/lobby is a scene with comfortable seating, warm sofas beautifully decorated. Later night craft cocktails are a must-even for those who prefer mocktails. Try the peppercorn cocktail! Much appreciation to the decorating and amenity details including soft lighting and smart placement of switch plates in room- it matters!

I had a personal emergency and needed a place to stay in the middle of the night. I called The Row Hotel and the woman said they had availability and told me to come right over. Upon arrival she greeted me with a smile and kindness. There was no judgment of my appearance and she went out of her way to accommodate my needs. She put me on the floor with the pool because I told her I wanted to go to the pool it was also near the pantry which has like water and snacks and tea and coffee 24 hours a day. The rooms are so elegant and I just love the decor. The Barr restaurant was amazing. Loved Chris. Linny, Anny, and Diana. Kudos.

I am writing to formally report several incidents of unprofessional and discriminatory conduct during my stay from November 21–23. Although the hotel’s facilities are modern and well-maintained, the behavior of several front desk staff members was unacceptable. At check-in, a staff member made an inappropriate remark about our “strong accents,” which was unprofessional and unwarranted. On the first night, we were awakened at 3:30 AM by extremely loud plumbing work, with no prior notice provided. Throughout our stay, front desk interactions—particularly with Lillian—were consistently rude, dismissive, and lacking in basic customer service standards. Most concerning, during checkout, I overheard staff giggling and referring to us as “the Asians.” This is discriminatory, disrespectful, and entirely unacceptable in any hospitality setting. These incidents created an environment where we felt unwelcome and disrespected. Other friends staying at the property during the same period reported similar experiences, indicating broader service and training issues. I expect this matter to be investigated and addressed promptly, with appropriate corrective action taken.

Love this hotel. Great location, walk to so many shops and resteraunts. Beautiful lights for the holidays on the street. Breakfast at hotel was delicious. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Staff is all helpful and friendly.

I have stayed on this property multiply times. Every-stay was wonderful. The checkin staff was so accommodating, wonderful and so professional. The rooms are beautiful,very clean and beds are soooo comfortable. The only thing I had wished for is the tub. Our room was changed and no tub was in there and didnt want to bother the staff . But I will definately return a couple more times this year for sure!

Walking into the lobby makes it clear why it's a signature hotel! The esthetic is modern, yet comfy...giving a little steampunk/cigar bar vibe. The bathrooms were awesome and have the overhead showers. The view from our room was a garage... so not that great! But very happy with the room!

I was here primarily for a conference but also visiting family. I would stay here again as the room was spacious, clean, updated. Upscale feel and appearance. One area they could have improved was their dining options within the hotel, but I do understand that there’s a lot of competition with so many restaurants in close vicinity that it may not make good business sense for them to have those options in the hotel. They don’t seem to serve lunch, but the bar had a limited, but very good menu. I also wish they had better options for parking or when families visiting some options for good parking for them and maybe a different valet option would’ve been helpful rather than just the $58 for those who are actually staying at the hotel. Otherwise, all in all I would stay here again and it was very convenient as my conference was right across the street at the hospital.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, and in an area that is safe to walk around in the evening, with multiple options for dining and entertainment. The hotel itself is very clean, and the staff could not have been nicer.
