Incroyable emplacement parfait pour le surf et le calme au cœur de la nature, des cabanes ouvertes ou fermées selon ce que vous préférez. Nous avons pu tester les deux et personnellement j’ai adoré dormir avec le bruit de la jungle et de la mer. La nourriture est excellente, le staff adorable, les cours de yoga aussi sont tops !

Absolutely loved staying here. Lovely cabanas on a beautiful private beach. Absolutely idyllic.

The family meals were by far the most we’ve paid but they were very good.

Cabane magnifique dans les arbres, salle de bain en dessous très agréable. Possibilité de manger sur la plage, très bonne cuisine et convivialité. Surf juste devant, location de planche sur place.

Le confort est simple, ce qui est tres bien, mais le prix est un peu trop élevé pour cela.

Direct vanuit je cabbana met board het water in. Hilltope ligt direct aan een rustige surfspot. Er zijn voldoende en heerlijke plekken om in de schaduw te schillen. Avond eten aan 1 lange tafel geeft direct een familiair gevoel onderling. Super aanrader!!

Location at the beach. Food was excellent

The place is very well maintained and is literally on the sea. Lots of trees and plants. There is a restaurant with delicious and varied special food, really chef meals. The seating areas on the beach are very pleasant and comfortable. The cabin we were in was pleasant, tidy and clean. The employees are welcoming and nice.

We loved the location and the vibe - not many people and very chilled with beds to lie on, sun beds and the bar to lounge about in. Food was great and my husband loved the waves too.

The cabanas were a little bit basic and the windows didn’t close properly so you could easily get in

Hilltop Cabanas was such a unique stay. Living in a tree house right on the beach!! The bed was super comfy. What I loved the most about our stay was the comunal dinner each night. Everyone staying in the cabanas would come together and eat dinner around one table so you had the opportunity to get to know everyone. As we continued our travels we would bump in to each other and it felt like you had become true friends.The food was great too!

Not that it would stop me returning but it would get hot through the day and there is no air conditioning.

Unser absolutes Highlight in Sri Lanka. Super charmante Stelzenhäuser, bei denen man Fenster in alle Richtungen komplett öffnen kann, Meerblick vom Balkon. Jeden Tag wird 2x Yoga oder Sound Healing direkt am Strand angeboten, eine wunderbare Erfahrung!!!. Richtig nettes, hilfsbereites Team, super Essen, schöner Strand für uns alleine. Wir haben eine Fluss-Safari in der Nähe gemacht und eine super Surfstunde gemacht. Einen Abend gab es ein Lagerfeuer am Strand. Wirklich traumhaft

Es gibt viele Tiere zu entdecken, weil alles offen ist, Frösche im Bad. Hat uns aber gar nicht gestört, im Gegenteil

Such a tranquil spot, made even better by the local staff. Rasa is a legend, working so hard to accommodate his guests at all times. Sanju and Nilu in the bar/restaurant were also amazing.

Het eten was heel lekker. ‘S avonds een kampvuur gedaan op het strand met de host Raza. Dit was puur genieten met de openlucht en de gigantische open sterrenhemel. Onze cabana had zicht op de zee, bij het ontwaken was dus dus een prachtig zicht. Heel makkelijk om met de tuk tuk richting arrugan bay te gaan.

Alles in het verblijf was geweldig. Je kan wel kikkers verwachten in de badkamer, maar dit is niet meer dan normaal in het midden van de natuur.

100 volle Punkte für den Chefkoch, wahnsinnig leckere Tomatensoße. Super ruhige Lage der Cabanas, perfekt zum entspannen. Yoga und Surfen ist ebenfalls direkt vor Ort möglich.

Man beachte, dass es keine Klimaanlage gibt und es in der Nacht doch sehr warm ist in Sri Lanka.

Beach life! Very basic but expect to be sandy, salty and happy. Right on the beach and very chilled out stay compared to Arugam bay or other parts of Sri Lanka. Great for some down time, surf and good food! Easy to get to Arugam bay and has everything you need serving food all day, drinks etc. BBQ on Sunday nights is awesome!

It is mainly about the surf here just to be warned, there’s not much else available if anyone in the party doesn’t surf. The waves a quite big as well so makes swimming very hard and not the best beginner place - even though it’s quieter if you’re a beginner best to start off in Arugam bay to get a few waves under your belt. Instructors are super friendly and happy to visit you though and know some good spots this way.

This place has its own magic. It is definitely a great place for relaxation and surfing.

It is a bit out of reach so without a vehicle or bike you are quite left there. There was definitely overpriced food for the location.

The location is amazing! You are on a beach, where very few people walk by. Good waves are directly in front of the property and if you’re not a surfers, you’ve plenty of options to relax on the beach with the nice “beach cabanas”. The food is delicious, but unfortunately quite pricy. We stayed in the family cabana and it was a blast! The kids loved it! Also, Michelle welcomed us with such warmth, we directly felt good! The entire staff is very friendly and nice! We definitely recommend this wonderful place!

Lieu incroyable, nourriture équilibrée et excellente, cours de yoga super, dîner en communauté génial.

La capanne sono molto belle, in mezzo alla natura, si sente il rumore del mare dalla stanza. La struttura offre la possibilità di mangiare cena, il prezzo è all’incirca di 10€ a persona. Si può fare anche colazione ma i prezzi non sono economici.

Non ci sono vetri sulle finestre pertanto entrano tutti i tipi di insetti, anfibi o altro. Dentro il water abbiamo trovato tre rane.

Hilltop Cabanas – a beautiful and truly epic stay. Almost deserted beaches, a wonderfully designed jungle-like property, and an open treehouse with the perfect view of the ocean in the distance. Open-air showers, excellent food with the tastiest Rice and Curry, and creative combinations of Sri Lankan and international dishes. A fantastic and lovely team—so kind, helpful, and friendly—made the stay even more special. Great events such as beach BBQs with campfires or movie nights, plus comfortable beach beds and loungers. Even the drive to the property feels like a safari, with herds of elephants, peacocks, langurs, and wild crocodiles—though the resort itself feels perfectly safe. Excellent yoga classes, surfboards of all sizes (though all quite worn). An unforgettable experience for me, my wife, and our children.

The only thing we didn’t enjoy was leaving this paradise!

Dieser Ort hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Alles ist extrem sauber und wird gepflegt. Das Essen ist sehr „anders“ und lecker. Super Kaffee & Cocktails.

This cabana was an absolute gem! Just a couple of steps from the sea, it felt like having a private slice of paradise. The location is stunning—right on the beach with hardly anyone around, which made it incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying coffee with a sea breeze was unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, beautiful setting.

We hebben hier heerlijk verbleven. Het is een waar paradijs. Prachtige accommodatie, mooie schone kamers, op een magisch mooie plek met een zo goed als privéstrand.

Het is goed je te realiseren dat de locatie erg afgelegen ligt (wat wij juist een plus vonden) en dat je daardoor afhankelijk bent van wat de accomodatie aanbiedt. Het eten is heerlijk maar ook stevig geprijst als ik het vergelijk met overige plekken op onze rondreis.

As cabanas não são fechadas, são abertas entre as paredes e o teto ( cobertura) e na selva, existem sempre visita de animais.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön angelegt und sauber. Das Yoga war perfekt. Das gemeinschaftliche Abendessen hat uns sehr gut gefallen, da man dadurch viele Leute kennenlernt. Das Essen schmeckte auch ausgezeichnet. Die Liegematratzen am Strand waren super bequem inklusive Schatten. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld lief reibungslos und unkompliziert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Located on a beautiful, isolated beach this place is a perfect retreat from the busy beaches of Arugam Bay. Sandy and wild sea, great for surfing. The rooms are basic but charming, built from wood with open showers. From the windows you see deep green trees, and the sound of the waves is everywhere. There’s no air-conditioning, but there are fans. It can be a bit hot during the day, but nights are wonderful with open windows and the sound of the sea. The team is generous and pleasant. We loved our stay!

It’s really isolated, so you depend on the restaurant. The food is very nice but the choice is limited and a bit pricy. Online they promised to arrange boards and surf teachers, but when we arrived all boards were already rented out so better come prepared . There is no wifi but thast the idea :)

All was perfect.

The only point I can maybe mention is the restaurant. Sometimes the quantity is not enough.

The only positive things about the property were the aesthetic design of the bungalow and the location right by the beach.

Our experience was extremely disappointing. No one warned us that there would be no electricity for most of the day. After booking, we received a vague message saying to “use electricity moderately”, but we were not told that power would be completely unavailable for hours at a time. Without electricity, the fan doesn’t work, and it is impossible to stay in the room due to the heat. The staff was exceptionally rude – the first and only unfriendly people we’ve met in Sri Lanka. Since the room doesn’t have a fridge, we politely asked if we could store something with them so it wouldn’t spoil – they refused and said they “won’t store anything that isn’t theirs.” They claimed they could help us arrange transport to our next destination, but when we asked for the price of a regular tuk tuk, they quoted us 30% more than what we saw on the PickMe app. Cleaning staff entered the bathroom without knocking or announcing themselves, which was very uncomfortable. They don’t speak English, or simply don’t want to – we could barely communicate and had to repeat simple questions multiple times. Also, the prices for food and drinks were double compared to what’s listed on their official website, and the menu was completely different. When we were leaving, no one even said goodbye. It was a very unpleasant experience overall. I do not recommend this property. The positive reviews are completely unjustified. This is proof that a high price doesn’t guarantee quality. It was the most expensive accommodation we booked in Sri Lanka – and by far the worst.

The treehouse accommodation, the outdoor bathroom, the natural day beds and chill out areas, the virtually private surf break right out front, absolutely magical! This place was a fave in Sri Lanka, a beautiful experience! Also the food here is seriously amazing, the communal dinner is a really nice experience- we had a bonfire here for dinner with fresh tuna cooked on it, we surfed a lot, highly recommend this stunning place!

Lovely escape to a secluded area. Comes with access to an empty beach and had a lovely host. Food was delicious.

Be aware of the property; no WiFi, outside bathroom and a few bugs (to say the least!) No downsides that weren't advertised ....

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich super außergewöhnlich. Es ist sehr natürlich und direkt am Strand. Die Location bringt super Ruhe und Urlaubsfeeling mit sich. Einfach unter Palmen den Tag genießen. Zum surfen ein super Spot. Leider war bei uns kein Yoga Lehrer vor Ort, aber man kann einfach in der Yoga Lodge selbst Yoga machen, matten etc. sind vorhanden. Die Menschen dort sind super freundlich und auch das Essen ist super lecker!

Diese Unterkunft war das absolute Highlight unserer gesamten Sri Lanka-Reise! Wir waren Mitte April dort und hatten das Glück, für zwei Tage die einzigen Gäste zu sein – es war einfach paradiesisch. Insgesamt haben wir 4 Tage dort verbracht und es waren 3 davon mit strahlend blauem Himmel und den schönsten Sonnenaufgängen. Rasa ist unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit. Er kocht fantastisch und hat uns direkt das Gefühl gegeben, willkommen zu sein. Ein besonderes Highlight: Er hat uns sogar frische Kokosnüsse direkt von der Palme gepflückt! Wir sind sehr dankbar für diese wunderbare Erfahrung und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Sehr gut, sehr autentisch, wundeschöne Natur, ruhig, abgelegen. Essen war sehr,sehr gut! Personal war sehr , sehr freundlich! Wir hatten viel Spass!

Es hatte Frösche die ins Zimmer kamen

Unsere Cabana war ein echtes Erlebnis. Mitten im Dschungel, direkt am Strand, abseits vom Trubel – der perfekte Ort zum Abschalten. Allerdings auch abseits jeder Einkaufsmöglichkeit, also Essentials wie Mückenspray, Sonnencreme und Snacks mitnehmen. Die offene Bauweise (zwischen Mauer und Dach ist ein Freiraum) bringt die Natur hautnah – das Badezimmer ist unter freiem Himmel, da schaut schon mal ein quakender Besucher vorbei. Aber: Das Moskitonetz ist top und schützt nachts. Der Deckenventilator sorgt für eine frische Brise. Der schattige Yogabereich war super, das Essen sehr gut. Es gibt einen Trinkbrunnen, an dem man seine Wasserflasche füllen kann. Das Meereswellen waren im April recht kraftvoll, was das Schwimmen nicht einfach gemacht hat. In der Umgebung gibt’s auch Elefanten – Rasa, der engagierte Gastgeber, organisiert Lagunentouren, bei denen man auch Elefanten sehen kann. Bei Bedarf organisiert er auch einen Scooter.

Der hauseigene Strand wurde gereinigt, in der unmittelbaren Umgebung lag doch Einiges an Plastikmüll herum.

We had an amazing time at Hilltop Cabanas! The place is located right at the beach and around there is pretty much just nature - we loved it! The manager was so friendly and even showed us wild roaming elephants in the afternoon, an unforgettable experience! The Cabana itself was perfect: it was clean, had a special atmosphere because you are sleeping „outside“ but even tho there was no AC it‘s not too hot at night. The common area had some books and games you could use which was also really cool. The food choices were limited (offseason) but the meals were just fantastic - 10/10! All in all: 100% recommend this place!

Wir waren in der Nebensaison dort, und es war wirklich super! Der Strand war komplett leer, das Meer angenehm warm, und der Strand sehr sauber. Es war insgesamt sehr sauber, und es war eine tolle Erfahrung, im Baumhaus zu schlafen. Alles war wirklich super, und vor allem war der Manager äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Zudem hat er jeden Abend hervorragend gekocht. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dorthin fahren!

Die Lage ist genial. Super war auch dir durchdachte schöne Ausstattung. Duschgel und Seife sind vorhanden. Gefiltertes Regenwasserr gab es kostenlos. Der Gastgeber war super freundlich. Das Bad im Freien fanden wir auch gelungen. Dad Essen war auch sehr gut.

Keine Sitzbezüge, Wasserkocher, Kaffee auf dem Zimmer. Die Preise für Essen und Kaffee waren m.E. unverschämt.

Rasa is a very friendly and on top he is a great cook! Lovely breakfasts and dinners. The cabin is marvelously located, remote and secluded at the beach. So nice to hang out! Plus Yoga on a deck with ocean view, walks with the owner’s dogs Romeo and Mocca. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute!

Raza war ein ganz, ganz wunderbarer Gastgeber. Immer verfügbar, extrem hilfsbereit und nie aufdringlich. Auch unsere Kinder liebten ihn. Das Essen war immer lecker, immer frisch und sah toll aus. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Das waren ganz traumhafte Tage dort. Außerdem war es besonders sowohl das Meer als auch Tiergeräuschen abends zu lauschen.
