We loved the drinks corner in the lobby, the pillow station, Sakurajima viewing area, and the central location. The staff were very helpful and the pre-check-in was useful and saved time.

The beds could have been thicker and would be better without the bean texture.

En plein centre, proche des commerces, avec le parking (payant) très pratique. Confortable, très bien équipé, la baignoire sur le balcon était un vrai bonus. Le personnel était accueillant et disponible.

隣りの建物が建ってしまい、景色が見えないのと、備品のシャンプーが一般の環境に配慮された物でないのが残念。化学物質過敏症の人には使えないものです。

Très bien placé pour visiter Kagoshima. Le parking est pratique. Le personnel est très gentil.

La chambre est un peu basse de plafond si vous êtes grands. Les oreillers sont très durs.

Ideale Lage mit guter Nähe zum Zentrum, Restaurants und Fähranleger. Die BAdewanne auf dem Balkon ist eine Idee, wird auch von einem "normalen" BAd gedoppelt. Selbst wenn gerade ein GErüst davor und die Aussicht auf das Nachbarhaus keinen Meerblick bedeutet. Frühstück ist in nahen Cafes möglich.

Room was great, loved the luxury of the outdoor bath (and free bath salts provided). They had hair dryer and hair straighteners in the room. The staff were helpful and helped me with booking a ferry to Yakushima (to book a ferry you need to write your details in Japanese characters!). They also stored my suitcase for 2 days for free. I saw reviews describing this as a love hotel but I stayed as a single female and didn't feel uncomfortable or like I was in a love hotel - so don't let this put you off.

Their eco friendly plant-based refillable cups have a strange smell to them (like wet wood). There were plastic cups for the ice machine so I used one of those to also get filtered water. Google maps points you to a slightly different location further up the street, so I walked back and forth for a while trying to find the hotel - not their fault. They did stored my bag for free for 2 days but they didn't ask for any ID or for my bag tag number when I came to collect it so felt like anyone couldve taken it (I suspect I might have been the only westerner around so that could've been it as well :'))

金沢で利用したゲートインホテルと同様に、ウエルカムドリンクやモーニングサービスを期待しましたが、なるほど街によって違うのだと理解しました。漫画や雑誌コーナーの充実、朝食などの他店のと連携など、工夫を感じました。

The hotel had everything, pillow choice, toiletries, services! Especially the staff was very helpful and helped me send the luggage. It was good value for money

The location is ok, more of a business district. Maybe there are better locations for tourism

建物自体は古いですが、中身は非常に綺麗でした。

ベットの上に充電ケーブルがあるのですが、壊れて充電出来なかった。1002号です。

隣で工事が始まり､外の景色が見えず，ベランダには室外機が3台もあり，熱風で窓が開けられず困りました｡化学物質過敏があるので，お部屋の換気ができるテラス付きのホテルを選んでいても､何の意味もなくなり､ガッカリでした。

スタッフの対応が素晴らしかった

ランドリーが古い。でも、お部屋から稼働状況が確認出来て、最高です。

和室でテレビリモコンの電池切れで戸惑った。 冷房の調整が難しく、布団の場所によっては風あたりが強く寒かった。 部屋のカードキーが1枚だったので、人数が多い部屋は、2枚あると良かった。

半露天風呂が最高に気持ちよかったです。 また、少し早めに伺ってしまったにもかかわらず、チェックインさせてもらいました。まだ清掃スタッフの方達が一生懸命仕事されていましたが、とても感じがよかったです。

隣が工事中でうるさかった

The location of the hotel was perfect! Not far from the central station, the city centre and the main attractions of Kagoshima. The structure was modern and very clean, our room was quite big and the view from the terrace was amazing. The staff was lovely, very friendly and always ready to help. I will definitely choose it again in the future. Thanks :)

Kleines aber feines Hotel. Gute Lage, einfach mit der Tram zu erreichen. Zahlreiche Einkaufs- und Essensmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Sauberes Zimmer und angenehme Größe. Freundliches Personal. Da es aber ein Zimmer mit offenen Badewannenbereich war, konnte der Lärm von der nahe gelegenen Baustellen trotz Glastür relativ ungehindert und deutlich ins Zimmer dringen. Außer hat das Bett bei der kleinsten Bewegung übermäßig gequietscht und geknarzt. Die günstigeren Zimmer sollen aber sehr klein und beengt sein.

We enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet despite the outside construction. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in one of the rooms with a bath on the balcony which was great (very low price for a room of this sort) it doesn’t have a view, but it is fab after a day of walking to have a soak nonetheless. Hotel had everything you could need, comfy bed, very close to entertainment area and a less than 10 minute walk to the port or even closer to the shopping area. Lovely helpful staff who gave us great recommendations and how tos for bookings etc Highly recommend for a great value place to stay. We were always leaving to early, so we were gutted to miss the all you can eat bread and jam breakfast that’s available! They always had various ice teas and hot drinks available in the lobby for free too!

This hotel is a gem! I have never had two bathtubs in the same hotel room, as a lover of baths this was an absolute dream. Quiet enough. Comfortable bed. Cozy room.Convenient laundry, water refill, lobby amenities very nice.Great location close to nightlife, shopping, parks, ferry and trains. View of Sakurajima from 10th floor stairs. A bit smoky from other rooms at times on the terrace, desk chair fabric not so fresh. All toiletries and in room amenities too notch and appreciated. Would love to stay here again.

Room with terrace bath was fantastic! Enjoyed evening soaks in the large tub. Rooms are on the top floor. Great location, within a few blocks of great food and drink options. Vibrant nightlife nearby.

Friendly reception, good refreshments (coffee, tea, water) at the lobby, water dispenser on each floor. Bed was comfortable and you can help yourself to extra pillows of different types. There’s smart TV with Netflix and YouTube. We did use the outdoor bath and it was quite a unique feature for a business hotel. Great location as well, walking distance to good Izakayas and both the main shopping area & the ferry/seaside area.

Could have provided more hooks/hangers for hanging up clothing

I stayed for 1 night. Wish I had stayed longer. Conveniently located to all the restaurants and shopping area. The room had all the amenities you need in the room, extra towels, charging sockets by the bed and table, charging wires, hair dryer, flat iron and even curling iron. The room I booked had a tub, bath powder for soaking was provided as well. Every inch of the space was thoughtful designed. Would stay again next time I am in Kagoshima.

I loved the private bathtube on the balcony. Amenities included hair curler among other things. The location is perfect if you're gonna use one of the nearby ports.

窓が広く、ゆったりできました！

Very smart, charming and well equipped hotel... but also laid back. I was expecting a "typical business hotel" and found a very comfortable place to be. Many nice touches (coffee machine in lobby, laundry in a light airy place rather than dank windowless room, multiple chargers in room, etc.)

The semi outdoor bathtub was a memorable quirk that made the room seem bigger than it was.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. I went to Kagoshima in September 2023. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was extremely impressed with Hotel Gate. The staff were so friendly. I really enjoyed the room, and was amazed with the amenities. I'll never forget how polite the staff were, I really liked the fishtank there too, I thought it was a nice touch. I really recommend the room with the outdoors bath too. It's very relaxing and deep! I'll be hopefully returning to Kagoshima in 2025, this will be the hotel I stay at!!

Your own private bath on the balcony is such a nice luxury that I'm going to miss it now on every other stay. Rooms are perfect size for one person, I would not recommend staying in a "double" room with two as it would feel very cramped. Everything was great at this hotel, cleanliness and service was top notch. The hotel uses a sign system where you put on your door what kind of daily service you want. No service, full service or just refill of amneties. I almost never need full cleaning so I really appreciated this system. Location wise the hotell is excellent also in the middle of Tenmonkan easily reachable by the city's tramline. I seldom return to hotels as I like to experience different ones but I think I'll make an exeption for this one as it was so good.

The light-switches above the bed have a weird green glow when the lights are off. It's so strong that it actually lights up the room and can make it har to sleep if you happen to turn towards them. It's a weird design flaw and the only thing I didn't like about this hotell.

Clean and tidy, helpful staff, and central to city

Just had a week at the Gate hotel in Kagoshima visiting family nearby, we really enjoyed our stay in a central location of the city at a reasonable price. Our room was clean and tidy with excellent service from all members of staff, three star hotel with five star service..excellent.

Location, stuffs and facility was nice. Easy access to major tourist spots by trams and buses

The bed was a little bit too small for two people, and difficult to access to desk and bed every time.

Das Zimmer war super ausgestattet und hatte sogar neben einem Fön ein Glätteisen und Lockenstab. Wir hatten eine Badewanne auf dem Balkon. Jeden Tag gab es neue Badezusätze und Handtücher

Among this area I found basically every hotel is so similar to the others. Here I like the special bath tube which is located outside in a terrace, I like this setting. Overall, everything is perfect for me. Also, the check out time is 11am when many others is 10am.

I’m looking forward to see the new 10th floor which in my stay it is under construction.

Vending machine was hard to operate. The first time used washing machine didn’t work. The front desk staff came to help me. However, he also didn’t familiarise how to use. After press various button, the machine started to work. After the specified time, the machine cannot open. After that I didn’t dare to use the machine again.
