The position is good, just 10 minute walking from the main pedestrian street in the centre. Rooms are nice with a water cattle and some tea and coffee available. I arrived in the early morning from the ferry terminal and I appreciated a lot that my room was already done in advance on the usual check-in time. I was prepared to just drop my luggage and I could actually settle already and have a rest.

Minor thing, on the Sunday morning they were late for preparing breakfast and several of us were there at the right time waiting for the owner. Cleaning could be better in the room.

Bathroom sealant looked bad around shower door & round shower base. Front door needed attention.

Struttura a conduzione familiare molto carina e gestita egregiamente. La camera era pulita e abbastanza spaziosa con caffè/thè e un dolce a disposizione degli ospiti. Ottima la colazione e il servizio.

Liegt nah am Ortskern und ca. 300m vom Hafen entfernt, in Lerwick ist alles fußläufig erreichbar, als Alleinreisende super, weil airBNBs oder selfcatering für einen allein zu teuer sind

Second visit from Australia- staff always friendly and helpful. This is an old building so while not perfect it has charm. Breakfasts are fabulous and the quests always seem happy at breakfast. Property in easy walking distance to harbour and Old Town and is surrounded by charming architecture. Parking out the front and easy access to buses or main roads north and south.

La guest house si trova in una posizione centrale, comoda per visitare Lerwick e dintorni; ci sono delle fermate del bus li vicino. Ho apprezzato la colazione, a buffet, che propone tè o caffè, pane, burro, marmellata, yogurt, succhi di frutta, cereali, frutta ecc. e poi c'è la possibilità di chiedere il porridge o le uova strapazzate fatte al momento. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. In conclusione, ci tornerei:)

The beds and the room temperature. I had the best sleep on weeks. The breakfast, particularly the porridge, poached eggs and bacon, were also excellent and a level higher than what you would get at the large chains through the UK.

La instalación de cañerías; la ducha hacía ruidos frecuentemente y en ocasiones hasta expulsaba agua con restos por el sumidero.

Helpful and attentive staff, nice building sited reasonably conveniently to the main attractions of Lerwick.

Un ambiente veramente familiare e cordiale; Callum, il padrone di casa, sempre presente e disponibile per ogni cosa. La camera era accogliente e funzionale, la colazione ottima. La posizione della struttura è ottimale, in pochissimi minuti a piedi si raggiunge il centro storico e da lì si può raggiungere facilmente il sentiero costiero per una bellissima passeggiata. L’auto si parcheggia facilmente e gratuitamente davanti alla struttura.

Fantastic room, nice comfortable bed, couldn’t fault any of the facilities. Hosts are wonderful and make you feel right at home. Very easy to check in and out. Free breakfast, what’s not to love. Third time staying here, won’t be the last. Plenty of parking outside and only a short walk from town

Köstliches, frisch zubereitetes Porridge!! Außerordentlich nette und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter*innen. Sehr ruhige Lage.

The eggs were always cooked perfectly whether you had fried or scrambled.

Some rolls as well as bread would have been a nice change

The hosts were wonderful! They made sure I had everything I needed and they were ao welcoming.

My room was comfy and clean and bigger than I expected. Shared bathroom was clean too and wasn’t really a problem at all. It was right next door my room so felt just like being in a house. Breakfast was pleasant. Parking on street was usually available outside.

The hallway is a bit run down and it was a hit odd checking in without seeing anyone.

Vi ble tatt godt i mot da vi ankom, og fikk bl.a. info om hvor vi kunne parkere bilen. Frokosten var bra, men savnet litt større variasjon i utvalg av pålegg. Behagelig seng, og god størrelse på rommet.

Badet kunne/burde vært oppgradert, og vanntrykket var varierende.

It is a stylish and comfortable place to stay and i will make MANY return visits. The rooms are classy with grand proportions, with a nice bathroom and an exceedingly cozy and comfortable bed. The staff are friendly and helpful and lovely to talk to, and the breakfast is genuinely a highlight with a mix of everything from porridge to delicious bacon and eggs and cereals as well as toast and fruit. I genuinely cannot give this place enough praise and the 5 stars really isnt enough.

There is nothing i can really say i disliked about my stay, to add anything here would be nitpicking.

The location was great and the room comfortable, clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful when they were around. It's a good location only 7 or 8 minutes' walk from the centre and very handy for the road out of Lerwick to the south, and close by the rather wonderful broch in the loch! On-street parking right outside and on a nice wide road made things easy.

The en suite was a little cramped; the shelf low over the tiny sink made washing one's face or cleaning teeth tricky. But this was just a minor inconvenience. I'd have liked more choice of breakfast. Bacon and egg only for the cooked part felt limited. Staff on hand when checking in and to help us up narrow stairs with luggage would have been nice.

Sehr nette Unterkunft, zentral gelegen mit sehr nettem, persönlichen Touch. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und warme Speisen wurden frisch zubereitet. Der Bacon war der beste, den ich seit langem gegessen habe und das Rührei war auch super. Das Einchecken war problemlos, ich kam mit dem letzten Flugzeug abends an und alles war gut vorbereitet und ich konnte schnell und einfach in mein Zimmer. Das Zimmer war ein kleines, süßes Einzelzimmer im 2. Stock mit geteiltem Bad auf dem Flur. Alles war sauber und ich meine nur ein weiteres Zimmer nutze das gemeinsame Bad. In meinem Zimmer befand sich auch ein Waschbecken. Das Guesthouse liegt nah an der Fußgängerzone in Lerwick, so dass Hafen, Attraktionen und Museen schnell zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Außerdem hält der Bus Linie 6 nur ca 50m vom Guesthouse entfernt.

Location was good. It was clean and comfortable.

The bathroom was very small and tired looking. The shower tray needs to be replaced. The sink was tiny and it was difficult to use. These are minor points though. The breakfast presentation was disappointing.

Je wordt heel vriendelijk ontvangen en goed verzorgd. Het ontbijt is heerlijk. Je zit op loopafstand van de winkels in Lerwick en van veel verschillende restaurants (wel van te voren reserveren!). Vanuit het guesthouse kun je mooie wandelingen langs de kust maken en naar een broch. Je kunt de auto direct voor de deur parkeren. We hadden een fijne rustige kamer met kleine douche- en toiletruimte. Goede handdoeken en tea cooking facilities.

Voor ons tweeën was het bed een beetje te smal, maat twijfelaar. Je kunt misschien bij de reservering opgeven dat je het liefst twee losse bedden wilt.

The bathroom needs some tlc - functional but tired. Breakfast was ok - cereal, toast, fruit and eggs and bacon. Freshly cooked but limited choice.

Mysigt litet hotell som låg lite utanför själva centrum men hade en busshållplats alldeles bredvid. Bussen från flygplatsen passerar där på väg in till stan. Trevlig personal.

Veldig sentralt, rolig og fint område. Gratis gateparkering like utenfor. Enkel, men grei frokost. Koselig!

Litt hard seng for vår smak. Lite bad, men ok. Litt støy fra toalett på gangen (ikke alle rom har eget bad). Det skal kanskje ikke så mye til for å løfte frokosten ett hakk?

The price represented exceptional value for money. The bedroom was small but perfectly suited my needs. Eva was friendly and served me politely and promptly at breakfast..

I had to leave Lerwick.

The breakfast was great, the option to choose from a self-service counter and egg preparation options, coffee or tea... just great! The room (single) has everything you need. But the most important thing was the wonderful, comfortable and spotlessly clean bed. I appreciated that after a long day exploring the beauties of Shetland. There is a kettle, coffee, tea, milk. The heating worked, but was not needed, the room was at a comfortable temperature. It is clear that the owner and staff care about the satisfaction of the guests. That is why I am here for the second time. I did not look for other accommodation. And I know that I will come back here again.

Solheim is perfectly situated for bus routes and accessing Lerwick with friendly and helpful staff offering clean and comfortable rooms and delivering delicious breakfasts. My first visit to Shetland was brilliant!

Everything! As a first-time visitor to the Shetland Islands, I felt really welcome. Staff members were very kind and friendly, especially Calum and Eva! Very responsive communication via Booking.com messaging. They were also happy to provided recommendations on the islands. The room was very cosy, and there were enough amenities (just the right number of clothing racks, tea/coffee, towels, etc.). The shared bathroom was very clean and tidy. I really liked the breakfast: simple with a variety of options (fruits, cheese, cereals, eggs). It charged me up before I did my hikes and walks around the islands. I left one day earlier due to unstable weather but communication to hand in the keys etc. was clear. I will book again if I visit the Shetland Islands!

I wish there could be alternative milk, like soya milk provided for breakfast. It would be nice to have some simple slices of ham too as bacon might not suit the dietary needs of everyone (it's rather high fat). It would also be nice if there could be a small guest fridge just to put a couple of things that need to be chilled.

Well maintained and looked after properly. Yes the doors were a bit squeaky and the floor boards a bit creaky but it is an old building. All rooms have decent facilities. Calum and his team went above and beyond with their hospitality.

Standard som forventet for gjestehus., men sengen og frokosten over forventning ☺️! Rent og greit. Og personale, bestyrer og eier var utrolig imøtekommende og hyggelige.

Småting som en dørpumpe som knirket og en litt defekt persienne, men det ville eier fikse. Jeg sa først fra om det siste dag. Burde ha nevnt det første dag så hadde det nok blitt fikset med en gang. Min feil, jeg fant work-arounds i stedet for å si fra.

Room allocated was not suitable for disabled.Despite requesting a ground floor room our money was taken knowing that they didn't have a suitable room or letting us know before the money was taken so not allowing us to cancel the booking. Money was promised to be refunded but over a week later NO refund. Now won't answer the phone to discuss it DO NOT TRUST A BOOKING FOR THIS ACCOMODATION

Overall a very comfortable stay. All facilities in room were first class & breakfast was outstanding every day.Would highly recommend Solheim as the place to stay in Lerwick

Clean room, they kindly gave me a room before check out time as I arrived very early in the morning.

I think the ceiling of the room needs attention, noticed to cracks due to very loud footsteps and vibrations from the person staying above my room floors need better insulation. Also, I would like to suggest warm plates for breakfast. As lovely as the bacon and eggs are, it’s needs to be kept warmer. The hot plates only keep the food lukewarm and the plates are very cold so I did end up having a cold breakfast.
