יש לקחת בחשבון שהמקום דיי מבודד ואין אופציות למסעדות מלבד המסעדה, גראב לא מגיעים לאזור אז כדאי לארגן נסיעה הלוך וחזור לפני כי העלויות במלון יחסית יקרות. כנ״ל לגבי עלויות של טיול ולקיחת נהג מצוות המלון- עלויות יקרות. כדאי להתארגן מראש.

Onsen at Moncham is one of those places where almost everything comes together really well. From the rooms and cleanliness to the facilities and, most importantly, the service, the whole experience felt very well thought out. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed with the Japanese ryokan concept. Having the option of a private onsen is definitely a highlight, but the shared onsen facilities are also very relaxing. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours doing absolutely nothing, which is exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant was another pleasant surprise. There’s a good variety of Japanese, Thai and Western options, so you don’t really feel the need to leave the property for meals. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout the stay, which made the whole experience even better. The mountain setting is probably the biggest reason I’d recommend staying here. If you’re coming to Chiang Mai, I think spending two nights up in the mountains at Onsen at Moncham makes for a really nice little retreat; especially if you want to slow down, enjoy the cooler air, use the onsen and simply relax for a couple of days.

One of the best experiences I ever had. Everything was exceptional. Beautiful room, excellent facilities and atmosphere, great food. Above all warm and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the Onsen both public and private. Wish had more days to spend. Highly recommend

Very friendly staff, delicious food and very relaxing and calm ambience! The room was as well very special for us und it was clean.

There were 4 young boys in the open Onsen which did not stick to the rules. All of them were wearing swimming shorts, but this didn’t bother me that much. What was more annoying is that one of them was having a mobile phone inside despite that cameras were prohibited. I should have mentioned it directly there at the SPA reception.

It has both indoor and outdoor onsen, plus private onsen. Helpful staffs. VERY GOOD japanese restaurant.

I try to visit this hotel once a year during the rainy season. It is a special time for this place—the vibrant colors of nature blend perfectly with the hotel’s architecture. It feels as though everything here is wonderful: the rooms, the service, the spa, and the restaurant. I will be delighted to return again.

Honestly, this place is off the charts — if I could rate it 6 or 7 out of 5, I would. Everything is just amazing. The vibe is incredibly peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful and perfectly maintained, and the whole property feels intimate and charming without trying too hard. The onsen experience is outstanding, especially the private onsen — truly relaxing and unique. The staff overall were great, and the atmosphere makes you instantly unwind. The restaurant is exceptional, and the breakfast… wow. Easily one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had — refined, generous, and absolutely delicious. My wife and I loved every minute of our stay, and honestly, we wished we had booked one more night. We will definitely come back, and I would strongly recommend anyone traveling in the Chiang Mai area to stay here — it’s far more worth it than staying anywhere else in the city.

Nothing, really. If I had to mention something, the front desk staff could be just slightly more smiley — but that’s being extremely picky. Overall, there are genuinely no negative points.

Anyone who has ever visited an onsen in Japan knows how incredibly relaxing it is. This hotel is designed in the style of traditional Japanese ryokan. The rooms are huge, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Guests who do not have a private onsen bath in their room can enjoy the shared baths. For women, there are two large and one small hot pools, as well as a small cold pool. The garden is lovingly designed and adds to the peaceful atmosphere. The staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly.

We had a small issue with our room, an issue that was handled beautifully by the deputy manager Nam. The level of professionalism by this sweet woman was unprecedented in our view. The compound is amazing, the garden lovely, the food fantastic, the private onsen to die for. All in all a great experience.

Quiet, beautiful hotel, ideal for a lazy weekend. The best bed ever! Onsen in the room is great, recommend using the public Onsen in the morning, this way there are no visitors at all yet :)

We went up to the Onsen for a cheeky midweek break, I don't really know what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. It's as if someone brought Japan to Chinag Mai. They have furnished it really well, and while some of the ornaments are a little bit strange, it really is a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and it's big enough but also small enough such that you don't feel like there is anyone there.

The garden/landscape and how much hard work goes into the garden.

The cookie cutter style of running things daily. The staff was good but compared to average standards staff not typical of Thai staff. The menu needs a little uplift for such a high end place.

Breakfast had plenty of options. Great cocktails. - Free access to the public Onsen. Every time we went we were on our own. So peaceful.

Staff is very polite and helpful, but they have 1 male. He use incorrect word when they respond back to me. Anyways it is not that bad. I just felt like a little bit of my mistakes to ask him to help. P.S. it's not his fault, please don't worry.

Beautiful, serene property with wonderful food, kind and attentive staff, and lovely hot springs-fed pools. Ducks, rabbits and terraced farms add to the peaceful mountain ambiance. I have rarely felt so relaxed.

I was food poisoned from dinner Shabu set (raw egg dip) paid more than 5k for the set, but not sure egg was selected grade?

It was a lovely beautiful hotel and had a lovely and very comfortable stay at the Onsen at Moncham during our visit to Chiang Mai. It was very spacious rooms and most rooms have a private Onsen in them. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The staff of the hotel goes beyond service to make the stay comfortable. I stayed with my elderly parents and 10 year old kid, and all enjoyed the place so much. Great hotel and a lovely and peaceful location to spend a couple of nights.

Nice and relaxing stay. Very similar to actual Onsen experience in Japan. The Japanese tatami room was comfy and even better if you have the room with private onsen. Staffs were well trained and very kind. Big big big thanks to the restaurant supervisor Da who was super attentive. Made us all feel very warm and welcomed

water in the public onsen was too cold

This is a beautiful setting and magically relaxing experience. The rooms are all well presented and comfortable. Surprisingly large and well appointed. The grounds are well kept serene and beautifully natural. There are so many fish, bunny rabbits and other beautiful birds it is lovely to wonder and sit in peace. The food is also extremely good.

Such a beautiful setting in the mountains and the staff made us feel so welcome. The Onsen was wonderful and probably the best massage we’ve ever had.

Shower was a little temperamental, but that’s such a minor thing.

The hotel is beautiful, with well-maintained facilities, excellent food, and stunning scenery. However, the service falls well short of five-star standards.

One major drawback is the hotel's remote location in the mountains. While this offers a peaceful setting, the staff is surprisingly unhelpful when it comes to arranging nearby activities that could enhance the guest experience—even at an additional cost. For example, a beautiful botanical garden is just a 15-minute drive away, yet without a car, getting there is cumbersome, and the hotel provides no assistance. Likewise, despite being surrounded by hiking trails, the staff made no effort to help us organize an excursion. In the end, we had to contact our previous (and much more affordable) hotel in Chiang Mai, which kindly arranged everything for us. Another disappointing experience was with the spa services. We wanted a massage over the weekend, but on Sunday, only one therapist was available, finishing work at 5 PM. Given the demand, one would expect a five-star hotel in Thailand to make arrangements for additional therapists—but they simply didn’t bother. Overall, while the setting and amenities are lovely, the lack of service and flexibility significantly detracts from the experience and fails to justify the high price tag.
