Breakfast extremely poor. Choice and quality was very limited. Egg was rotten and green. Juice was off. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were not friendly and were unwelcoming. They came across as completely disinterested and we were made to feel unwelcome. Would not return.

Stayed at Heatherbank for 1 night and we had a great stay. Room facilities were great and we had everything we need. Slept well, quiet rooms and clean with no complaints. The team allowed us to check in early so we could spend the day in London. A 10 minute walk to the tube and 20 minute tube journey got us into central London. They also allowed to us to park our car before check in and after check out. So accommodating and would definitely stay again - thank you for a lovely visit!

We stayed at the property for 2 nights and everything was amazing. The staff couldn't be more helpful and polite. Breakfast was nice and laid out. Rooms were spacious and clean (TV, big shower, Comfy chair, hot drink supplies). The property was quite warm, but the room was equipped with a good fan, which was amazing as this isn't always the case with some hotels. Quite and good for parking as this is what we needed and actually made it quite difficult to find somewhere to stay. Public transport is very close if needed too. Amazing stay, thanks so much!

The room was extremely hot. Only had a tiny window. Staff at reception not helpful at all.

Rather a random one, the bathroom light had a mind of its own and kept turning on and off. There was also some weird noise from the bathroom that I couldn’t tell if it was a whining dog next door or something going on with the plumbing. Other than that, comfortable and clean and I’ve stayed in a lot worse for work trips.

We were given a warm welcome and our room was very large, with 2 double beds! It was quiet and spacious, if a little dated. There was a fridge, which was a bonus for storing food and drinks.

Stayed here terrible room dirty payed a £200 deposit they said I will get it back at end of stay when I went to leave they said it will take 2 days to come through I rang up and said can I get my deposit back and the lady behind the desk said she has forgot to do it, it has been 2 weeks I still haven’t received my £200 and they have blocked my number. There breakfast was disgusting iswell.

Place was clean and comfortable

- The interaction with the receptionist was not the best. We were first asked to ensure all of our luggages are carried to the room which was on the second floor, we tried to negotiate however was not flexible. Then when the other receptionist saw us struggling to carry our luggages up with the stairs, they mentioned that it can be kept on the ground floor. Inconstant service offered which caused confusion. - Moreover the heater was not working properly; we turned off the heater when we first got to the hotel and when we tried to turn the heater back on, it did not work. The following morning, we went to the reception to ask how to fix the problem, the receptionist mentioned that only the cleaners know how to fix this. We asked if there are any external heater that they offered but they said there were none and that we just have to be patient. - Shower’s water pressure was poor and very cold water was dripping from the tank.

Stayed only for one night.The room was ok , but the phone was not working I have to go down two levels to ask for things from the reception. Wifi didn't work at all on my phone or my family phones , says connected with no signal , so no free wifi as expected

I travel a lot and this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The room was serviced and I did not need to ask The room was huge with a great view of the garden The shower cubicle was the nicest I have seen. One area for improvement the WiFi, the codes were impossible even if you got the right one! The WiFi worked fine when reception put the code in but when it dropped of that was that.

Great option for our night in London compared to central prices. Tube line just down the road and northern line straight into Picadilly. Easy parking friendly staff cosy and what you pay for. Quite a big selection for the continental breakfast

Lovely family run guest house.

Quick and easy check in, room was clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

We had a lovely couple of nights here, we were in London for the Eras show and needed somewhere with parking and handy for the tube. The family that own the guesthouse are lovely, plenty of off road parking and you can see Woodside tube station from the path outside the guesthouse. The house has a breakfast room that opens onto a beautifully maintained garden. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Quiet hotel in a busy location. Car parking was an added bonus. Not a premium guest house but comfortable

This was a terrific stay. The most important thing for me is cleanliness, and this place was extremely clean. After that, it was just wonderful for the price: the room was large, the bathroom was new and had good water pressure, public transportation was right there, there were good rstaurants and a large Sainsbury's right nearby. The staff was friendly and responsive, though sometimes difficult to find. The carpets were, as one reviewer said, threadbare. Another reviewer complained about the bed and pillows, but we slept just fine. Sometimes I happily pay for luxury, but as a base to explore London and then come back and do practical things like a quick bite and my child's bedtime routine before going out again in the morning, this was just as good as it gets. It's a real gem and will be my first choice the next time we come through the area.

Heather Bank is an excellent base for a weekend in London. It’s fairly basic but makes for a comfortable stay. We arrived later than expected and the host was very understanding and left us a key. I would recommend.

Very accommodating allowing early check-in due to us having to be at an event by 12. Easy parking which is a bonus for London. Easy waking to shops and restaurants. On the negative only two towels ,that really need to be replaced as threadbare, the room booked for 4. Only 1 toilet roll which ran out could not find anyone to get two more towels and toilet role till the morning. Saying that would stay again

Had a lovely stay here in one of the apartments. Fantastic facilities and large space. Mattress a little uncomfortable but still slept well. We will definitely consider if we were to visit the area again. 5 ⭐️

The staff was lovely and friendly. The room was ideal for what we needed. The bathroom light did flicker at times but didn’t bother us as we only stayed for one night. The hotel as easy to find, with 4-5 parking bays. The garden was beautiful. Did have any food whilst there but looked good. The beds are decide, the area was nice and quiet! I would stay again, as soon as I get to my room I would check to see if the heatings on or not. My room was toasty! Lovely thou. Thank you! We will see you again :)

Blocked toilet and no working shower for the first day, not a nice greeting when checking in and not as personable as when we’ve stayed there before, for what we paid I think there’s much better places within the vicinity

I couldn't have asked for a better check in or more gracious hosts/staff. They were kind, flexible, and professional. The hotel had easy parking, it was safe and secure, they have a beautiful back patio with a garden and green space, and the room was HUGE. It was clean, quiet and a short walking distance to cafes, restaurants, grocery stores and a whole street full of culture. The continental breakfast puts US continental breakfasts to shame. So tasty! I'm so glad I found this gem!

Excellent stay. We had everything we needed and very close to the tube which takes you straight to the center of everything - we will be back!

Average hotel. Clean but dated furnishings. Beds were hard and the pillows were too. Continental breakfast, again ok but nothing special. Didn't check out the local area but it seem to have plenty of shops and restaurants/cafes.

The room was pretty clean and the staff were very friendly. Plus the heating was very good! It was a great experience overall!

The location was very convenient, but the rest was not as advertised. No elevator: The stairs were narrow and had many steps, making it difficult to carry our luggage upstairs. Old towels: The towels in our rooms were thin, rough, and shedding. Low water pressure in the showers with hot water: The only way to have decent water pressure was to use cold water. Laundry facilities: There was supposed to be laundry facilities. The only laundry facility we found was a washer in our suite with no dryer. The washer was very noisy and slow. Broken dryer: When we asked the housekeeper (who spoke limited English) if we could use the dryer on the first floor, she showed us where it was located. We did one load of laundry with the dryer, but when my son brought another load of wet clothes to dry, the owner saw him and told him that there was no dryer in the hotel. The owner then shut the door to the dryer room. Uncomfortable mattresses: The mattresses in our rooms were old and worn out and uncomfortable. Poor communication and mistrust: We felt that the situation with the dryer was handled very poorly. The owner's actions created mistrust and inconvenience for us. She should have been upfront with us about the dryer and offered to help us find alternative laundry solutions. Overall, we would not recommend staying at this hotel. The lack of amenities, poor communication, and mistrustful behavior of the owner made our stay very unpleasant.

Great communication, warm, room refreshed each day, fridge in room was a bonus, free off road parking for 5 cars, very quiet and less than 5 mins walk from the northern line. Some areas of decor are slightly dated but it was clean, homely and suited us perfectly.

Very disappointing as the property was not as expected. Noise from room above as floorboards were noisy, no plug for the sink. Very musty smell in the corridor. Breakfast was terrible nothing to offer at all coffee was the worst I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this to anybody.

Very friendly proprietors! We were given a lovely bottle of wine upon arrival. Our original flight was cancelled and we lost a day, yet they held our reservation. I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone who needed a convenient location to North Finchley. Transportation is readily available to most everything.

We arrived late at the property and let ourselves in with the key left in the key safe which was fine. The room was clean, although one bedside light not working. Bathroom very clean. A duct-taped wire hung down from the TV which was a bit alarming. TV worked ok first night, but by second night we couldn't get it to work at all. Kept saying no signal. Seems it's an outdated aerial system and Wi-Fi was patchy too. When we came in Saturday evening plus our eldest daughter to do presents in our room, a woman barked at us from the back of the house, "how many people?" My husband went to explain she wasn't staying, just coming up for an hour. There was no welcome at all, or introduction. When we checked out Sunday morning there were also no staff apart from cleaners who had no idea what was going on. We wanted to talk to someone about the TV not working but the cleaners barely spoke English and there was a lot of confusion. All in all, I'd say it was clean and a convenient location, beds small doubles and pillows hard. The only plus was that our beds were made up during the day on Saturday. It was ok but we won't be returning.

Our stay is really nice and lovely. the room is very clean and the receptionist Rita is very kind and friendly. Breakfast is good as well.

The check in was weird as need to ring, wait for some time, then someone who is not front the front desk to welcome me. No where Hotels.com informed that there won't be a permanent front desk service to welcome guest. in 2 occasion the person trying to help don't speak english fluently. The positive, they gave me a studio, but it has a smelly corridor, towel were not in good conditions, TV channels don't work well, the pillows are bad/hard to sleep on, had 3 keys (which is sometime confusing). Am sure the management will take my feedback positively & try to fix it as this is the minimum expectation with right welcome/ check in, comfortable room/ pillow, good condition towel, TV channels work. To Hotels.com: i have never received my welcome gift of free bottle of wine. Felt cheated.

We've stayed here 3 times now. So convenient for tube into London. The high street in North Finchley has plenty of shops and restaurants.

The hotel is located outside downtown London. Is far away from all the tourist traps. You get to experience life like the locals do. The metro station is nearby and it will take you directly into London. There are a lot of dining options a few minutes walk from the hotel. You will be impressed.

Lovely property, easy to find, great location, the only issue we had which is personal to each guest were the pillows-these were so firm, they were uncomfortable.

Loved that it was quiet. I felt safe in the community. It was close to the Train station and there where lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Clean and quiet property with good variety of choices for continental breakfast. The bed was comfy and the shower worked well.

The room we had (room 9) did not look like the updated rooms pictured online. I suspect there are some rooms that are more updated. Both beds in the room were extremely firm and uncomfortable which I was surprised by since many previous reviewers mentioned comfortable beds. Again I suspect that some rooms had newer beds. The continental breakfast was not included and was kind of pricey for what it included. The location to the tube was excellent and it was great to have parking included. Overall I’d try it again in hopes of getting a better room next time.

It was a very clean hotel. Minor issues like shower door does not close properly, I have brought that to the management attention . They promised to fix it. Other than that it was great. I would choose to stay there again if I visit London again.

This is a great value for money place just off finchley road, its well located whilst the room was lovely and spacious. Room was very warm though due to a radiator that did not seem to turn off or down so i didnt sleep too great due to being very hot. Breakfast was a help yourself continental breakfast but there were a lot of options. Staff were very helpful

The wine was terrible like vinegar so we could not drink it The maintenance man Ray was excellent he went out of his way to help us. The elderly lady yelled at staff and hit the dog. She seemed confused. There was no room upgrade and she was unaware that breakfast was included.

Great value for money stay. It ticked our boxes. Was easy to get to and from the rest of London vis the underground station, only 6 mins walk away.

Price and location

The room itself was lovely, very clean and well maintained. It was perfect for a family of 4 as a base to access London and the surrounding areas. There were lots of places to eat in the surrounding area as well and transport links were good. The only issue we had was that the room was very warm and we had to set up an air conditioning unit ourselves to cool it down. It was a warm weekend, but if it had been any warmer it would have been unbearable.

Easy check in, good location, value and parking. We had the top floor and the room got very hot.

Great location, a few short steps to the high road for meals e.t.c, and a short walk to Woodside park station on the tube, Northern line. Nice back yard where your kids can let off some steam. Wifi is not great in some parts of the room. They should invest in a more powerful source. Staff provide the basic service needed; not super friendly.

Very clean and warm rooms, receptionist was friendly and helpful. Bit of confusion about the breakfast which was included but they weren't informed so not their fault. Breakfast room was really nice with a lovely view of the fantastic garden. Only suggestion I might have is we didn't have an iron, there was a trouser press but I couldn't use it for a shirt.

Lovely place to spend one night in London on a particularly cold day. Receptionist was very friendly. Room was specious and very warm, almost forgot about the winter storm outside. Convenient shopping stores and good restaurants nearby. The biggest plus point was onsite parking, hassle free for any traveller arriving by car. Didn’t book the breakfast, but I’m sure it would have been equally good. Thank you 😊

We paid for the breakfast, but when we arrived were told that we would have to pay £10 per person as breakfast wasn't included. I was not happy about this. Uncomfortable bed. Too many stairs as we were put on the top floor. No soap or shower gel in bathroom. Very cold room.

Nice, basic guesthouse. Clean, employees very friendly. Our room was quite big and on the main floor, and we didn't have any noise issues. Only issue was that the mattress and pillows were quite cheap and uncomfortable.

Parking was a bonus, dated hotel with a back garden that looks nothing like the picture. Breakfast lady spoke zero English until her family member arrived to assist.
