Er waren wat gebreken aan het huisje (toilet lekte, lavabo liep niet weg) en er zaten muizen in de kamer. Het verblijf was ook heel duur voor wat het maar bleek te zijn.

Le restaurant à proximité est très bon. Emplacement parfait car une belle plage accessible à pied... Et pleins d'autres à moins de 10 minutes tuk Tuk... Petit déjeuner copieux, Azad à même fait des pancakes pour les enfants...

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Das Nuga Eden ist ein superschönes Hotel! Der Empfangs- und Frühstückbereich besticht durch seinen kolonialistischen Stil. Das Zimmer war gross und sauber, viel Abstellfläche ! Schöner Poolbereich mit fantastischem Blick aif den Sonnenaufgang. Das Frühstück ist sehr ausgiebig. Am Buffet gibt es Früchte, Curd, Toast, Eierspeisen sowie typisch srilankische Küche.

Für einen Zwischenstopp war diese Unterkunft perfekt. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit: Als meine Beine von Insektenstichen brannten, holte man frische Aloe Vera direkt aus dem Garten. Wirklich vorbildlich fürsorglich! Beautiful colonial house – a spacious property with various accommodation options, a pool, and a fantastic breakfast. Perfect as a stopover. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive: when my legs were burning from insect bites, they went straight to the garden to bring me fresh aloe vera. Truly outstanding care!

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026We liked the vibe of the buildings. They were old but had this colonial-era vibe. The main building is also well maintained. Breakfast was very good, except of the coffee which was really water-y.
First of all, the hotel is right next to the road so expect constant traffic and honking. Our room was in desperate need of renovation. It was clean but so old that everything looked tired and dirty. The electrical outlets were also dangerous as we could see sparks when using them. The gardens around the buildings are in need of some tender loving care. They look neglected. And, the pool looks clean only early in the morning. Nobody looks after it later in the day, no matter how many leaves or insects fall in. One more thing is that in the evening, options for dinner around there are limited.

Attention, Il est écrit qu'il y a un restaurant et un bar de piscine. Ceux-ci sont fermés : seul le petit déjeuner est servi sur place. Pour le reste, on peut aller au Redbeach à 60m, -10% sur la carte en venant du Nuga Eden. Ce n'est pas bien grave, mais c'est à savoir avant de réserver.

The treehouse looked like someone forgot to maintain it's inventory. Doors had a wierd lock, floor was a little sloped. On the first look it seemed clean but the you notice the shower (all in rust and not working properly) and back of the sink. Toilet is ony separated with a curtain.

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026Měly jsme jeden pokoj ve zděné budově a jednu chatku de luxe (ta tedy byla výrazně horší na to, že byla za stejnou cenu jako pokoj). Pokoj byl prostorný, v něm velká manželská postel a přistýlka, lednička s minibarem, mohly jsme si připravit kávu nebo čaj. Koupelna byla čistá a prostorná a v pokoji tekla teplá voda, v chatce tekla pouze studená - všechny jsme se tedy sprchovaly v tom pokoji (a záleželo ještě na denní době, občas voda netekla skoro vůbec, jen to prskalo a teklo studené). Zahrada byla krásná a udržovaná, velká. Já se nemohu koupat v moři, proto jsme vybraly tohle ubytování, že je tu velký bazén a s tím jsem byla spokojená. Byl tu i dostatek lehátek a slunečníků. Když jsme chtěly, byla možná donáška drinku až k lehátku :-). Personál byl velmi vstřícný a příjemný, stejně tak majitelé. Co bylo obzvlášť báječné, byly snídaně - výběr veliký, sladké i slané (to slané tedy z 90% hodně ostré), nejlepší byly palačinky a spousta ovoce. Snídaně se podávaly v hezké jídelně (vzdušné, s ventilátory), vše bylo pěkně naservírováno, vybíraly jsme si z bufetových stolů. Když jsem chtěla zajet na výlet do chrámu poblíž, objednali mi tuk tuk, který se mnou jel tam i zpět (čekal na mě na místě) a po cestě mi ještě zastavoval v obchodech, kde jsem potřebovala. Pobyt byl velmi příjemný.
V chatce byla téměř nefunkční koupelna a nikdo to neřešil, i když jsme to nahlásily. Ale protože jsme měly i pokoj s funkční koupelnou, tak se to dalo zvládnout. Jinak bylo vše perfektní. Nepodívala jsem se pořádně na mapu a podle fotek to vypadalo, že je ubytování blíž moři. Myslela jsem si, že se budu dívat na holky z bazénu, jak řádí v moři. A místo toho jsme byly celé dny každá jinde. Ale nevadilo to, v prostorách hotelu jsem nikdy nebyla úplně sama :-).

Reviewed Feb 28, 2026Die Hotelanlage ist wunderbar gepflegt, der Baumbestand und die vielen blühenden Pflanzen sind besonders schön. Die geräumigen Zimmer sind funktionell eingerichtet. Im Bett schläft man sehr bequem. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist voll von srilankesischen Köstlichkeiten. Jeder, und zwar wirklich jeder der Mitarbeiter ist besonders freundlich und hilfsbereit. Assam und seine Kollegen sind immer zur Stelle, wenn man sie braucht. Besonders ist der große Pool im Garten. Von den Liegen aus sieht man über die Bucht aufs Meer. Das ist zwar nicht immer leise weil die Straße zwischen Hotel und Strand doch trotzdem sehr entspannend.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026Wir haben das Baumhaus gebucht, weil wir einmal ein ganz spezielles Zimmer haben wollten. Und es war grossartig! Wir hatten ein Naturerlebnis welches es in einem normalen Zimmer nicht gibt. Sitzen am Balkon war herrlich, wir hatten den Überblick! Konnten die Tiere (Vögel, Eichhörnchen und sogar ein kleines Äffchen hat mal vorbei gesehen) wunderbar beobachten.
Das Baumhaus ist komfortabel eingerichtet, vielleicht ein wenig kleiner als ein gewöhnliches Zimmer. Aber es ist ja ein Baumhaus und trotzdem kein Verzicht auf WC und Dusche. Wir fanden es einfach toll!

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026Das Personal war unheimlich freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Auch der Pool und die extra Pool-Handtücher haben uns gut gefallen. Als wir im Regen vom Parkplatz zum Bungalow liefen, reichte man uns einen Regenschirm. Sehr aufmerksam! Täglich wurde gefegt und die Anlage gepflegt. Die Preise in der Minibar sind fair. Das Personal möchten wir wirklich ausdrücklich loben!
Leider roch es in dem Bungalow (lila) etwas muffig. Das liegt vielleicht an den Polstermöbeln im unteren Bereich. Auch hätte ich mich unter einem Mosquito-Netz bei den vielen Geckos etwas wohler gefühlt. In anderen Unterkünften erhielten wir täglich Wasser, hier leider nicht. Für den Preis haben wir deutlich bessere Unterkünfte gehabt. Es ist nicht schlecht, aber Preis-Leistungs-Verhätnis stimmt nicht.

Reviewed Feb 10, 2026Breakfast 10/10, especially the pancakes. All the staff were excellent except the creepy little older man. When I swam in the pool he decided he wanted to clean it. Was seemingly everywhere we were and just has a nasty look, especially after we told him we weren't interested in a safari or turtle watching and didn't need a taxi/tuktuk. The owner of the hotel is lovely and the antiques add charm.
The pool needs renovations. Tiles falling off, steps broken. The outside of the property is disgusting, litter and graffiti. It wouldn't take more than an few hours to clean the litter up, and painting the exterior wall. Our bedroom (room 10) has a broken bathroom shutter/window which keeps opening. Two dogs roam around the property, one has an obvious limp. Wifi is not great.

We have stayed at A framed vila which and it seems lot to be improved in rooms for example both pantry sink and wash basin were not properly working.

La piscine et ses équipements sont d'une autre époque Nous n'avons pas eu d'eau chaude dans les douches, puis après plus d'eau du tout et parfois elle était même marron. Et ce pendant 3 jours!

Reviewed Feb 8, 2026Everything! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The garden and pool were immaculate. The road does separate the hotel from the beach but there is a wonderful view of the beach from the pool and the beach is fabulous with many good restaurants. The owner and all the staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome indeed . I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Reviewed Jan 24, 2026Sehr schöne geräumige Zimmer, riesiger Balkon, Pool schön. Man ist in 1min am Strand, es lohnt sich allerdings etwa 30 min zum nächsten Strand zu laufen. Unbedingt ins Lucky Charm zum Essen - Die Besitzer sind super nett und das Essen sehr gut.

Reviewed Jan 24, 2026Beautiful resort with a clean pool within walking distance of beautiful and quiet beaches. The room was clean and well equipped incl. fridge and air conditioning. Wifi in the room didn't work very well, but it worked great while sitting by the pool, where you could work. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner can be ordered to your room. We also used the laundry service.
The bathroom lacked a shower enclosure with a screen, as soon as you shower, water was everywhere. But in Sri Lanka this is quite common. The bathroom lacked ventilation.

Le manque d'isolation, les chambres sont proches de la route, donc bruyante le matin.

Mauvaise odeur dans la salle de bain, bien que partiellement couverte grâce à de l’encens. Pris de certains services un peu cher (lessive), dommage.

I really can't say nothing wrong about this hotel. Additionally, the whole building has its own taste and is very stylish.

Reviewed Jan 16, 2026Lovely clean hotel with a stunning pool, great views of the beach. Breakfast was a Buffet which was plentiful with lots of variety. The staff are very helpful with organising anything you want like tours and transport.
Wifi didn’t work in the rooms , and the hot water in the morning was intermittent.
