Genuine Kiwi Experience

The fact that breakfast was included for the price I thought was value for money. The owner was very welcoming. It felt more like a home from home. Beds and pillows were very comfortable.

Chris and Jane were very accomodating and pleasent

Close to town and convenient to 'attractions'. Car parking on the street, no dramas though. Kitchen and bathrooms congested at peak times - to be expected.

Great owner Chris great room and building. Lovely breakfast

The property was renovated and modern on the inside. The only minus was as a chatted to one of the hosts. They didn't mention the breakfast arrangements so I didn't like to help myself from the pantry. The only minus regarding the property is it could use a paint on the outside some time.

Warm and welcoming. Have been there before and will use again

Friendly and helpful hosts. Close to city centre and places of interest.

Chris was super helpful and accommodating. The house looks rough from the outside but is warm and comfortable once you are in.

Quit neighbourhood. Comfortable mattress. Did not give us the room as advertised and booked.

It´s a nice place to stay in Invercargill. A little bit outside of the city centre.

The exterior is in need of some of the love that's been applied to the interior. The house was clean, comfy bed and helpful, welcoming hosts. Don't be put off from the outside.

Lovely clean and tidy place. Very accommodating hosts.

Room, bathroom and the rest of the house was very clean,

Excellent place to stay in Invercargill. My room (Room A) was very big and very warm. The host, Chris, was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

All good. Comfy, cozy, great hosts. The perfect BNB experience

Such a lovely place to stay on the outside of town and very quiet. Chris and Jane were awesome hosts and were happy to give you advice on places to visit.

Enjoyed stay. Owners made it a very pleasant time. Ideal for a single person or couple.

Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Friendly and helpful hosts. Stayed with my 12 year old son in the twin room and he thought it was great. Only issue was the wifi wasn't working (which he was a bit disappointed about!).

The property was clean, tidy, homely and the room was tastefully decorated with everything you could want.

Great place to stay. Very warm and approachable host. Great room and facilities. Would happily stay there again and would recommend to all!!

Lovely place to stay. Warm and beds were comfortable. Nice breakfast and coffee, great shower. Could use a sign at front door as i wasnt sure we were at the right place and it took a bit to find the owner.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Wow Chris what a surprise we had. You did an amazing job with your interior. What you see in the picture is what you get.

Great host and our room was extremely tidy. Overall, an excellent value for your money.

I never got inside this property as there was a keypad lock on front and back doors. The exterior was extremely disappointing. The paint was peeling off all over the house. The back entrance was dirty. There was a laundry room attached to the house which looked to me to be filthy. I sincerely hope the guest linen was not being washed in there. There also appeared to be a large , either walk-in chiller or freezer with a shower curtain in the door. This looked like it was the showering arrangements. The inside may well have been a lot better , but based on what I saw outside , I chose not to take the risk. I called the owner and cancelled my booking. He didn’t actually sound at all surprised. I have just returned home from holiday and haven’t had the opportunity to check if I was charged for this property, but I hope not , as I will want it returned. I find it difficult to believe that anyone from wotif has even seen this place. Very disappointing.

We didn’t have WiFi to get the information that the host sent us, but we were able to call him even though it was late and he greeted us and helped us get settled. He was very kind and helpful. The home was a super cute colonial style home. Loved the included breakfast!

Comfortable bed friendly and very helpful.clean and tidy

Comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated, modern facilities Best value for money I have experienced so far.

Well maintained n very tidy. All good!..............

Didn't need anything, everything were there. Quiet and calm. Had a good night rest after a long hours of drive from Ashburton

This was definitely a genuine Kiwi experience!!! The outside is being renovated but inside and room is great!! When in Inverncargo be sure and check out the local hardware store and Burt Munro's Indian 1920 motorcycle that he set a land speed record on the Bonneville salt flats. Watch the video first. Just Google "Burt Monro wolds fastest Indian"

The Lady of the house Jeny is very welcoming and professional hostess making you fell like at home and certainly providing the Genuine Kiwi Experience. The house is very nice and clean with all facilities. In the back garden you find home grown vegetables and hens whom eggs you're offered for breakfast which is included! Just loved my stay!

Absolutely gem of a place to stay in. Lovely little old house but with all the modern comforts and amenities. Rooms are clean, comfortable and a lot of thought has gone into the decor. Hosts are great to talk to and go the extra mile, like providing home baking!

From the outside I was worried it would be unpleasant but inside it’s really nice. Everything you could need within a suburban home setting. Would stay again when in town on business

Chris and Jane are really helpful and welcoming and hospitable.

Neat and tidy and quiet. Enjoyed the stay including the restaurant

The owner are friendly and welling to help us. The room is lovely and comfortable. Though we didn't have much time in Invercargill but we had a great time staying in Genuine Kiwi Experience !

Jane and Chris were perfect hosts. In addition to running a traditional BnB, they are engaged and thoughtful hosts. My son broke his leg on our vacation and was taken to Invercargill's hospital. Jane and Chris made sure his recovery was safe and comfortable. They treated us like family. The beds are comfy. The shower is delightful. Kitchen is totally available. We couldn't have found a better place. Thank you Chris and Jane!

Lovely room, bed was a little soft for us but great size. Really good facilities in the room with big tv, kettle, fridge etc including a little coffee plunger. All very clean! It is difficult having one bathroom between six people but we were aware that would be the case. Just be aware if you need to leave at a certain time you may have to wait to use the bathroom so add on some extra time. Good parking around and lovely hosts.

Outside of this place is not attractive bit disappointed. Our room is newly renovated but not the bed - too soft. Also they keep the towels in the cupboard need to ask them in which should be ready in the room. Good thing are the hosts are really friendly.

Such a large room. Perfect place to rest before 3 days tramping, although now I wish we had stayed after as well!

In the suburbs, no public transport immediately close. With your own transport all tourist venues within 15 mins easy. Excellent size bedroom and shared kitchen/living area. Great friendly hosts.

Didn't realise it was a BnB when booking and was somewhat shocked on arrival. However, the hosts were very welcoming and helped facilitate a very friendly and comfortable stay. It turned out to be a very comfortable stay in Invercargill.

It is not a hotel but a bed and breakfast. Definitely a genuine kiwi experience. Owners were super friendly and helpful. Room was superb with modern facilities including a chrome cast TV. Having free range eggs for breakfast was awesome. Will definitely recommend

Value for money, might need to jazz up the exterior

Great service and staff very useful. The rooms were a bit cold but everything was clean. You could have an option to hire towels

Chris and Jane and Redford (the cat) were very friendly. The room was light and airy and the bed was comfortable. The room rate was very reasonable. An excellent alternative to a budget motel. I would definitely stay there again.

My partner and I stayed at The Genuine Kiwi experience and we're more than pleased with our accommodation. Jane Chris are absolutely wonderful host's.

Jane and Chris run a wonderful B & B in a southern suburb of Invercargill. The place has real character and is a nicely appointed single family home converted to a B & B. They have half a dozen rescue chickens in the back garden that can be pretty entertaining. Shared kitchen, bathroom and lounge facilities are clean and comfortable. Some shopping, banking, post office and food is available via a short walk two blocks west. Public busses are available to ride north for sightseeing. We thought it was a great value!

Friendly helpful owner. A good experience. Offered brewed coffee. Nice!

Exterior suggested anything but a motel... more a backpacker establishment. Had trouble finding a host initially and then a chance encounter that enabled the production of a receipt. Not registered for GST. No off-street parking.
