Una experiencia muy por debajo de lo esperado para el precio Nos alojamos tres noches en Hotel Las Islas y, sinceramente, esperábamos mucho más de un establecimiento de este precio y categoría. Nuestra estancia superó los 1.700 €, con desayuno incluido, y consideramos que la experiencia no está a la altura de lo que se paga. Uno de los primeros problemas fue el transporte marítimo desde Cartagena. El día de nuestra llegada el mar estaba bastante picado y la travesía resultó muy incómoda. Lo comunicamos al hotel desde el primer día, pero nadie se puso en contacto con nosotras para interesarse por lo ocurrido. Solo al reclamar nuevamente al finalizar la estancia se revisó la factura y se nos descontó finalmente el coste del transporte. Y precisamente la factura merece una mención especial. Detectamos cargos que, de no haberlos revisado y reclamado, habríamos terminado pagando: determinados impuestos/cargos, un seguro y, lo que nos parece especialmente sorprendente, una propina asociada al minibar. Todos estos conceptos fueron finalmente retirados después de reclamarlos. La sensación que nos queda es que hay que revisar absolutamente todo y reclamar para que no se cobren determinados conceptos que no habíamos solicitado. El servicio tampoco nos pareció acorde con la categoría del hotel. El personal, en general, no destaca especialmente por su capacidad de anticiparse a las necesidades del huésped. En los desayunos vivimos varios momentos de bastante desorganización: pedidos que tardaban mucho, cafés preparados de manera diferente a lo solicitado, platos que se servían en otras mesas y errores en los pedidos. Para un hotel que se presenta como una experiencia de lujo, creemos que el servicio debería ser mucho más cuidado.

Le logement est incroyable, magique ! Les équipements de l’établissement sont de même : la bibliothèque, les restaurants, le bar.. l’accès à un télescope est génial. Le personnel aux petits soins.. le restaurant est très bon! On peut aller gratuitement sur l’Isleta. Kayak et paddles sont à dispo gratuitement…

Seul bémol, le prix du transport proposé par l’hôtel. La navette de l’hôtel pour venir de Carthagene est à 350k alors qu’avec un taxi ou motocarro on a pu payer entre 150k et 200k.

No arreglaban la habitación, la cabaña en mal estado, mal servicio a la hora del desayuno, el aire no funcionaba no justificaba un precio tal alto para el estado en q se encuentra!

Da privacidade do nosso bangalô que era de frente pro mar com piscina de borda infinita. Decoração do bangalô era linda! Café da manhã espetacular. Três restaurantes diferentes para o café da manhã, almoço e jantar. Telescópio para vermos as estrelas e planetas com a ótima assessoria de Juan. Carrinhos de golfe para locomoção no resort.

Chuveiro entupido, pouca água e pressão. Meu marido teve que desentupir o chuveiro com uma agulha pra podermos tomar um bom banho.

Nice breakfast and room

Overrated hotel…the rooms are nice but you don’t have views on the sea because the plants are too big, the room is dark a d not natural light. the room swimming pool is dirty and useless, the sea is dirty with seaweed (not very paradise) and the space for sunbeds very tiny. The private island is not worth it…for the price of the the rooms, I was expecting much more.

Hotel bonito, bien ubicado para descansar y desconectar, rodeado de mucha naturaleza.

Para ser un hotel catalogado como de lujo, deja bastante que desear. Durante toda nuestra estancia hemos estado sin iluminación en la zona exterior y, a pesar de comunicar la incidencia cada día, nadie hizo nada por solucionarla. En relación a esto, da la sensación de que el trato no es igual para todos los huéspedes. Cuando hay alguna persona conocida o famosa, el personal está pendiente de ella en todo momento, mientras que el resto tenemos estamos insistiendo en problemas técnicos diariamente.

Super despistados, cobran de nuevo todo habiendo pagado con anticipación, fue un regalo, hablando con el hotel y enviando comprobantes ya todo estaba pago y arreglado, pero a las que se personas que se hospedaron les cobraron de nuevo todo, me tocó pasarle a la persona todos los comprobantes de pago y eso es una falta de respeto enorme, ya que hacen sentir super mal a los huéspedes.

Absolutely beautiful place and a must for any couple traveling to Cartagena.

Nous aurions adoré pouvoir dîner là où nous avons déjeuné au bord de la plage en toute simplicité avec des grillades, salades.. mais franchement, c’est vraiment la seule chose qui aurait pu nous manquer

We just returned from 5 nights at this property and will definitely return some day. We took the boat option for transportation, this worked out wonderfully. We were greeted at the restaurant/marina with a small snack and drink. The immediate atmosphere is tranquil and remote feeling. The hotel lobby is in the middle of the mangroves and is something I’ve never experienced. Very cool. The room was a beachfront villa. Immediate reaction was excitement. A beautiful thatched structure a nestled into the landscape. It had a salt water pool (slippery, but nice) that was salt water from the sea. Staff was attentive with changing towels and turndown service. The room was always made up with fresh water supplied and swept. The property itself is VERY quiet and subdued. There is not much by way of entertainment, you must do that for yourself. We would go to the clubhouse bar on the third floor every day where we met Efrin. He was the best bartender there and was so personable, fun, and chatty. The entire staff at breakfast was wonderful, and so sweet. We did a couples spa treatment that lasted for about 2 hours. A body scrub, then saunas, jacuzzi, massage, facial. Our attendants, Dina and Edith, were magnificent. The breakfast was good. The rib stew was AMAZING! The lunch options were the best meals of the day. Red snapper, tuna sandwich, gazpacho, and chicken sandwich are highly recommended. Dinner had amazing service. The food was good. The ravioli was the best dinner I had while there. The menu should’ve more authentic for Colombia and the music at dinner… ditch the classical music. This is sustainable resort, pretty isolated into the forest and mangroves, and nature is all around you at your fingertips. Wildlife is all around you.

Beautifully landscaped hotel with a private beach, great staff and very good food offering. Our room was fantastic, very spacious with private terraces at both ground and room level. It was fun getting around the complex on bikes and golf carts. Breakfasts were great and served in a lovely restaurant right beside the sea. The cocktail bar was nice and the telescope was a really fun and interesting feature, the astronomer (sorry, can’t remember his name) was really friendly and very well informed.

Given how small the beach is, a hotel this size should also have a proper sized swimming pool with sunbeds etc. Also I would have preferred the evening meals to be served in the same restaurant as the breakfasts.

Habitaciones estaban muy bien, el desayuno lo mejor de todo, el personal muy atento y la playa exclusiva y tranquila, como mucho éramos 4 parejas a la vez.

Los precios de los restaurantes y de las actividades son desmesurados, a la vez que el precio en general del hotel, no vale lo que cuesta. Tienes que estar pendiente de las propinas siempre, y en la factura al final de la estancia hay que revisarla con atención, te incluyen cosas como un seguro que no te avisan cuando llegas, y propinas que tú indicas que no quieres dejar y las incluyen… Creo que para el precio que pagas, las actividades que están incluidas son muy pocas , por no decir inexistentes.

La comida, regular a mala para el valor. Pese a tener pocos turistas hospedados, los servicios eran muy lentos.

The hotel facilities are beautiful and very romantic, specially the bungalows. Spa, restaurants and food were great! Staff service fantastic!

The swimming pool was out of service. The only pool available was in the spa and with limited access. Their private island was closed for restoration, something guests should be aware before making the reservation.

Needs to be updated in some aspects, but overall is a good experience, could be better if attention is paid to all the potential the surroundings can give

Excellent location, very friendly and polite staff! The place was amazing

This hotel is the perfect example of how a beautiful location can hide a deeply mediocre operation. The place itself is stunning. Incredible jungle, beautiful ocean views, amazing natural setting. The staff is genuinely kind and polite. But kindness does not replace common sense, execution, communication, or service standards. Everything in this hotel is designed around what works for THEM, not for the guests. Nobody communicates proactively. Nobody anticipates problems. Nobody takes ownership. You have to ask for things multiple times before anything actually happens. There is zero sense of operational urgency or assertive hospitality. And the best example of this disaster: This hotel is extremely isolated. There are only 3 ways to get there: - Boat - Long and uncomfortable ground transportation - Helicopter During check-in, they explained all transportation options very clearly. What they somehow forgot to mention is that the boat transfer back to the city only has around 10 seats per day and sells out quickly. So the day before departure, when I asked to confirm the boat schedule, they casually informed me there were no spots left and the only option remaining was the awful ground transportation. At no point during check-in did anyone think to say: “Would you like us to reserve your return transfer now? Availability is very limited.” That is not a small mistake. That is a complete lack of service criteria and operational intelligence. Luxury hospitality is not about smiling and saying “of course.” It’s about anticipating problems before the guest has to discover them themselves. This hotel has the aesthetics of luxury, but not the mentality of luxury.

Genial que tuvieran almohadas firmes y semi firmes, no esas de plumas que son una pesadilla. El lugar es mágico, desplazarse por el sitio es fácil a pie o en las bicis que proporcionan, pero también se puede solicitar transporte en carritos de golf. El bar con la terraza son un highlight para ver el atardecer y tomar algo con una atención muy buena de su barman.

Podría mejorar el menú y ser ampliado, especialmente el del almuerzo. Comimos el pargo frito (delicioso) y al horno de leña, que no cumplió las expectativas para el precio y lo prometido, le faltó sazón y un sabor mucho más potente. A los empleados (algunos) les falta entrenamiento para dar indicaciones, pues lo hacen con amabilidad pero dando por sentado que uno sabe lo que ellos ya tienen incorporado para llegar a ciertas partes. Seguramente con mejor señalización se soluciona.

I was so excited for this hotel. I actually planned our trip to Colombia for our stay at las Islas. I looked at the website a we decided to splurge for my birthday. First let me start with the positive. The setting and staff at the hotel was wonderful. Micheal, oratio, ribalto, Olga and everyone else were so kind and warm. And the beach and setting is really beautiful and special. But other that, everything else about our experience was way below standard for a leading hotel esp for the price point of $750 usd a night. First, it was not explained well on the website that we were booking a room on an island that required a boat ride. I have a two year old son and the rides eps at night did not feel safe. But the issue was the communication. At no point the option to stay on the main property presented to us. The communication was very poor not only about the room and location but everything and the staff especially at reception didn’t seem to have the experience or authority to notice this and make changes. Other issues: the bed was not comfortable, food was hit or miss, Overall this property has a ton of potential but feels a big neglected on all levels and continues with a price point that does not match the level of service or luxury advertised.

Worst experience ever. This place is advertised as paradise, but the reality is very different. A local taxi driver warned us that the resort is located in one of the most dangerous areas of Barú. Guests should also be extremely careful with billing. We were charged for minibar items we never used and a private island fee we never stayed at. Food is very expensive and mediocre, but since the resort is isolated and Wi-Fi is limited, guests have no alternatives and are forced to rely on them. The rooms were dirty, full of mosquitoes and insects, and housekeeping was insufficient given the high prices. Raccoons touch the fruit displayed at the hotel entrance, with no warning signs. There are also no signs warning about jellyfish or stingrays in the water. I was badly stung by a jellyfish. Management downplayed the situation, and I was incorrectly treated for over an hour before finally being taken to the nurse, who explained that immediate cleaning was necessary. We no longer felt safe and wanted to leave, but no refund was possible for the next 2 nights since we wanted to leave that day. Overall, this resort is overpriced, poorly managed, unsafe, and misleadingly advertised. I would not recommend it. Do yourself a favor and go to Sofitel Barú, that place is heaven and cheaper!

Breakfast was very good overall. Lots of different foods available. Quality was generally good. Fruits were excellent and varied. Ice coffee was amazing. Arepas were a standout.

Some of the baked goods were only fair in quality. Some of the beverages took a long time to make.

La plage est magnifique et la multitude d’animaux rend l’expérience inoubliable.

Il est inapproprié d’appeler cet établissement «  hôtel ». Pas d’électricité ni d’eau dans la journée (se rincer après l’eau de mer c’est pas mal quand même), pas de possibilité de manger en dehors des heures imposées, repas devant être commandés 2h avant, carte courte et service désastreux. Commandes prises de façon désordonnées, donc à moitié, 1h30 d’attente pour une pizza et serveuse agacée quand on lui fait remarquer. Les prix sur place ne sont pas particulièrement abordables (évidement puisqu’on est captif). L’établissement di indique une navette bateau pour venir, puis cette dernière ne passe pas, puis la personne de l’accueil dit qu’elle ne gère pas les navettes pour venir (pratique vu que c’est une île !!!)… pour la navette du retour c’est pire, on nous annonce un horaire, puis quand on se présente on nous dit que le bateau est passé 30 min plus tôt et que c’est de notre faute puisqu’on a pas réservé alors qu’il n’est indiqué nul part que c’est sur réservation. Le staff ne parle qu’espagnol, le manager est dépassé et au final les navettes de bateau nous ont coûté plus cher que la nuit d’hôtel ! Bref un tarif bas annoncé qui se retrouve x3 en fin de séjour. L’établissement se repose sur son emplacement et la présence d’animaux (que vous devez payer pour voir !) ne justifie pas ce service horrible !

Beautiful property and on-site staff were all excellent. Unfortunately, my experience has been soured by a billing error made at checkout that has gone unresolved. Despite multiple follow-up emails, management has not responded. It's frustrating that what was otherwise a great trip is ending on this note. Would hesitate to return until the post-stay customer service issue is addressed

Hotel has been designed to feel like youre in an oasis in nature.

We stayed at this resort with expectations of the highest level of service possible. Because we booked the Sea Level Bungalow with private pool.. One of the most expensive accommodations there. What we received was far from high level service. We were welcomed to the resort by a gentleman that stated we will be serving us for the entirety of our stay. We had a spill in the room and called for someone to come clean it. We also asked for 2 towels. No one came for over an hour to fulfill our requests. That is totally unacceptable. Once we returned to the accommodation from being out we called for room service. No one came to take our order. I had to walk to the restaurant to get someone to come take our order. We were told that we would have a dedicated attendant our entire stay and that was not the case at all. We were not brought any water when we asked. We were told just ask and they would bring us more. We requested some ice the next morning due to my guest hitting her toe on the chair in the room we didn’t not get any ice. The ice maker in the room was broke. No one came or called to check on us our entire stay. We were planning to stay another night but with all the issues we decided not to. This was an awful experience. We received absolutely no service during our stay. Due to the fact the service was not up to the expectations. We stayed in the Sea Level Bungalow with private pool. one of the most expensive accommodations there and we received absolutely no service. Very disappointed…

The location of the resort is outstanding, overall it blends in very well with the natural surroundings. We stayed on the islet which was very well presented. The staff were extremely welcoming and eager to please. Food and drink was well presented and of good quality and portion size.

Our room was opposite the beach resort on Cholon and from mid morning until late afternoon there was extremely loud music from all the visiting boats and the resort itself. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and is very good but to be charged for a glass of water at the overall high room rate I found quite amazing. Ironically I could have had a juice included!

We weee not in main resort ... it's a five minute boat road if you ignore waiting for the boat and then time to get around the main resort Unlike rooms on main resorts no bikes are provided so add 290 minute wait for a bike .... it's just logistically hard

We stayed in a bungalow by the water for 5 nights. The bungalow was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The cleaning staff sometimes removed towels and bathroom items and did not replace them. We called and requested replacements several times, getting occasional replacements. The outdoor area exclusively for our bungalow was incredible, several places to sit, a private pool (which was not maintained by the property, so we didn't use it), beachfront that was shared with one other bungalow, which was pretty narrow. We went snorkeling one morning, which was excellent. We were disappointed that the property had only one restaurant for lunch and one for dinner. The dinners were very good, the lunches were okay. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The resort is large and we enjoyed the complimentary bicycles and and walking around the property. We recommend this property for a few nights, 5 nights is too long, in our opinion.

El lugar es muy lindo, la playa y las instalaciones

La comida no es la mejor y si es cara. Probamos un ceviche que no era fresco y tampoco estaba muy bueno. También una pasta nada especial y también cara, un margarita de corozo que no sabia a nada… Entiendo el precio de la comida por el lugar pero si van a cobrar caro debe ser delicioso

Endroit absolument paradisiaque, parfaitement intégré à la nature, avec un cadre exceptionnel et très dépaysant. Le personnel est extrêmement accueillant, attentionné et professionnel, avec un vrai sens du service. Nous étions dans un bungalow sur l’Isleta : magnifique, très confortable, avec une vue splendide et une grande intimité. Le restaurant est tout simplement exceptionnel — le meilleur que nous ayons testé en Colombie. Cuisine raffinée, produits de grande qualité et service irréprochable. Un véritable point fort de l’hôtel.

La piscine attenante à notre bungalow ne semble pas traitée (eau dessalée sans traitement chimique ni véritable système de filtration visible). Nous sommes tous les deux rentrés avec une infection diagnostiquée comme liée à une bactérie présente dans des eaux stagnantes, et nous avons constaté d’autres commentaires allant dans le même sens. Ce point mérite d’être sérieusement amélioré. Par ailleurs, un manque d’entretien des abords est visible par endroits (branches coupées laissées au sol, végétation non ramassée). C’est dommage pour un établissement de ce standing, car le lieu est réellement exceptionnel et pourrait être irréprochable.

The location and layout.

There was a rat in our room during the first night. We raised this with the hotel who dismissed our complaint. The rat returned on our second night. We complained again however the hotels response was poor and offered no compensation.

Las cabañas ubicadas en altura eran hermosas. Me encantó que la cabaña tuviera bicicletas para movilizarte.

Para ir a la cabaña hay que subir muchos escalones, asi que no la recomendaría para personas con alguna discapacidad motors

We liked the expansive property and the fun bungalows. The abundant staff were great. Use of the bikes and golf carts was also fun.

We didn’t really like the island much and the event / activities side have more work to do to provide activities to do due to how remote the hotel is. We also thought that the hotel could do a lot more from a service perspire than they did for the amt they charge. Also, due to the location, you should assume you will stay on property the whole time.

Ficámos na Isleta num bungalow com piscina privada e o quarto é LINDO e super confortável. A comida também é boa.

Tivemos um rato no quarto por conta de um buraco que permitia a entrada no bungalow, mas o staff resolveu no dia a seguir e ofereceram-nos uma garrafa de lambrusco como pedido de desculpa.

We were unlucky as booked 5 nights here after after 2 weeks of travelling and sightseeing, but we hit a storm so only had 2 nice days. There were no facilities for bad weather. Lunch restaurant on beach had little shelter. Restaurant food was great but no atmosphere. Top bar shut about 9.30, we were the only 2 couples there and felt they wanted to get rid of us. I know its a tranquil place but literally nothing to do of an evening or if weather bad.
