Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Clean, great price, helpful staff members who know the Yaeyama islands and transportation stuff to get around and usually like to mingle in the evening, more space than expected in my sleeping box, shower&toilet always clean and refilled (body soap + shampoo provided free), good wi-fi, constant pleasant air-conditioning with no daytime stoppage, nice common room with a view, rooftop access for drying clothes / smoking 👍👍👍 The common room has an 11pm "closing time" because the staff is sleeping literally next to it, but it's not a hard locked door closing time. You can still get to the common fridge for a snack, or cook quietly, if you're careful. Oh, and they've got this thing where you have your own shoebox with slippers tied to your room number, so you'll keep the same familiar slippers and won't have to fight for shoebox space when the place gets crowded * the bicycle you can rent there is only for the city, you should go get one at some rental shop if you want to go far along the coast or up the hills and mountains in the countryside

solo hay una lavadora y una secadora. En mi caso fui en época de tifones y era imposible poder utilizarla de la cantidad de personas que la necesitábamos. por otro lado las basuras no las suelen vaciar con frecuencia, por lo que se acumula la basura. no daban funda para el edredón, solo para el colchón y para la almohada.

部屋数がまあまああるのに、シャワーが2つしかないので割と、女性の方の方がシャワー待ちしていることが多かった。もちろん混んでいたら男性シャワー使用して良いと説明されていたが、シャワー数があと1つほどあれば上手くローテーションするのかなと思った。

宿の入り口がわかりづらい。ゲスト用の冷蔵庫のサイズがやや小さい。

El check out a las 10 es un horror. Solo hay 1 baño y 1 ducha para hombres y otro para mujeres. Nunca hay nadie en la recepción y no saben inglés. Siempre hay una chica hablando muy fuerte e insoportable. Que no alquilen motos a gente extranjera también me sorprendió… deberían dejar ir a la sala común a la noche, tengo que trabajar y no puedo hacerlo en la cama por no hacer ruido y respetar a mis compañeros.

Reviewed May 28, 2026港ターミナルから徒歩圏内 石垣島繁華街からも近いので立地抜群 宿泊に関しては寝るには十分なスペースやアイテムがあります。 気になる水回りは清潔で気持ち良く利用できました。 通信について口コミを拝見していましたが、こちらもスピードテストをして良好な状態で動画を問題なく見ることができました。 また、シュノーケルレンタルセット500円でかなり安く借りることができます。 レンタルは他に自転車やバイクも借りられるそうです。 素晴らしい滞在となりましたので、感謝をお伝えさせていただきます。

エレベーターがなく、施設が3階にあるので、重い荷物の持ち運びが大変かも。 1階に飲食店があり、匂いや見た目に清潔感がなく、 そこを外食の度に通らないといけないところ。

Reviewed May 25, 2026The kitchen and common area are nice, kitchen is well set. A big fridge with a freezer. Very comfortable to cook. The view from the lounge is also very nice. The cabin is big, with rollo. Inside is light, a small mirror, even a small table and a personal fan. The idea of such cabins is kind of cool. Though might be tricky to carry the luggage to the top levels (I was lucky to get the lowest). You also get a free towel. And there are indoor slippers available, outdoor shoes are left in a locker at the entrance. There is also quite a big locker (with a digit lock) close the cabin. Shampoo and body shower in the showers, washing machine and dryer are available, and you can also use the rooftop on sunny days for drying, which is awesome. The hostel is close to a farmer’s supermarket where you can get delicious pineapples! It is close to a shopping arcade, bus stop and ferry terminal.
Can’t say I didn’t like something. It was tricky to understand what to do if you arrive before the check in time. But you can actually leave the luggage (in the common area at the back) and stay there before check in. Important: remember the entrance code, otherwise you won’t get inside.

Reviewed May 12, 2026海外の安宿のような立地。ここの場合はフェリーターミナルの近くだけどちょっとだけ路地裏なせいか場所はいいのに宿泊費が安い。 スタッフはしっかり運営や掃除をしていたと思う。 自分も含めていびきをかいている人はそれなりにいたと思うが、部屋の作りのせいか気にならないで眠れた。 トイレ×2、シャワー×2、洗面台×3とベッド数に対して少ないかと思っていたが、4泊の滞在中シャワーで1回だけ待つことがあっただけだった。 洗濯機と乾燥機が1台づつありそれぞれ1回200円（洗濯機は洗剤込）だけど、天気がよければ屋上で干せるので乾燥機代がかからない。 共有スペースが狭いが席が足りないということはなかった。客同士で個別に交流することはあったがゆんたくはないので苦手な人は気楽に滞在できる。 連泊の場合はクーラーの効いた室内で過ごせる。
枕がもう少し高さがあるとよかった。 4泊したが22時から23時ぐらいにトイレのあたりで排水臭が二度した。一度目に臭った翌日にスタッフに話したら便器の改修予定があるとのことだったので、近いうちに解消されるのかもしれない。 長期滞在者が料理をするのに冷凍庫等に大量に食材を保存していたり、ほかの人が包丁を使っているのに洗いものをしようと割り込んだり。ここに限った話ではないし長期滞在者がみんなではないだろうけど、我が物顔で振る舞う長期滞在者の対応はどうしたらいいのかな。

地點在很sketchy的小巷子底部 往樓梯上走 只付了一張床單隔被子和床墊 付的毛巾看起來非常舊 後來沒用 晚上回去休息時 感覺是員工的人非常大聲地講話講了很久 住了兩晚都是這樣 房間沒有完全被隔開 有人在煮飯或講話是會聽到和聞到味道的

The layout. A lot of people packed into one room, the women's dormitory is not a separate room it's just a corner of a larger room. It's extremely loud at night, with people packing luggage and also starting very early in the morning. There's no separate space for luggage so people with no choice to do it where everyone else is sleeping.

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026(治安の関係かもしれないが、)宿出入口が、終日施錠されている点。ベッドの２階部分だったが、雑居ビルの改造のせいか、大人が普通に立てたのは、今までドミトリーの中で初めてでした。(屋根裏は見えるが、開放感があるのと腰に非常に良い！)改造(リフォーム)もしっかりしており、各ベッド外の荷物置きのスペースも広く、貴重品入れ(施錠有り)もかなり広く使い勝手が良い印象を受けた。共同スペース(居間、キッチン等)は、腰高窓が広く、眼下に市役所跡地が見え、明るく開放的な印象でした。🙆
安い分、少し通りから分かりにくかった。中通路に段差があったので少し気を付けないといけない。出来れば、シーツは、上下２枚欲しいです。朝の出発の関係で共同スペースは、出来れば午前６時くらいから開放して欲しいです。お世話になりながら細々すみません。有難う御座いました。🙇

Reviewed Apr 27, 2026中心地や港、バスターミナルにすごく近いので便利で良い。 チェックイン前に荷物を置けるスペースがあるのは良かったです。 チェックイン時に身分証明の提示を求められますので、変な人は出入り出来なさそうだと思いました。 屋上は広くて開放的でした。隣のビルとめちゃくちゃ近接しているので万が一火事になったりしたらここから逃げられそうだな…とか考えちゃいました。
美崎町の一角にあり、路地裏を通ってしか入口に行けない。女１人で夜歩くのはちょっと恐いです。暗いし。あと、エレベーターはありません。重い荷物はスタッフに連絡すれば運んでくれるのですが、窓口が開いてない時間は自分で３階まで運ぶしかありません。狭い階段だったので大きいスーツケースなどを持って来ている人にはキツいかもしれません。 シーツはキレイで清潔そうな物でした。自分で掛けるスタイルです。スペースが狭いので非常にシーツを掛け辛いです。 また、シーツは清潔そうでしたがひと晩寝た後ダニに６箇所も刺されて跡が残ってました。（しかも右側だけ…）掛け布団にはシーツは付いてなかったし…もしかしたらそこにダニがいたのかも……。安さと口コミの良さにつられて予約しましたが、やはり値段なりだな…と感じました。 あと、宿の写真はちょっと良く撮れ過ぎかな…と思いました。外観の写真がなかったのも外観がちょっと古びた感じがするからかな…とも…。 リビングが狭くて席数も少なくて、客室数とのバランスが取れてないように感じました。 ゆっくりできるスペースがもっとあればなー…と思いました。

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026Location is wonderful, right in the middle of town and there's parking nearby. The port is maybe a 5-10 minute walk depending on pace and if you hit the lights properly. Airport is 20ish minutes away by car. They offer plenty of information on how to take buses and a lot of discounts for different things to do around the island.
The only thing that I would change about my stay is that I think the AC should've been more active, especially for it being 80*F+ and like a billion percent humidity outside. Once someone finally turned it on, it was a game changer for the stay and I have zero other complaints other than that it should be utilized more.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026Konomi, the host, makes this space very comfortable and pleasant. The layout is so well-designed that you can't hear the other guests. I would only strongly recommend adding an automatic door closer for the front door, it slams quite often. Everything else was perfect.
The slamming of the front door means it doesn't have an automatic hinge or anything to dampen the sound of the slamming

Reviewed Apr 4, 2026For an affordable hostel, it’s probably the best and most comfortable one I’ve ever stayed at. Not only was the staff super kind and helpful, the facilities were all new, very clean and convenient. The cute little nooks are super spacious and private, and it’s one of the only places where I’ve been able to comfortably maneuver around in such little space. Lock boxes add for extra comfort, and they allow you to leave your luggage even after check out for one final day of exploring There’s also tons of helpful restaurant and activity information on the walls, and the hostel offers 500yen snorkel set, bicycles, and scooters(if you have a Japanese license) for the whole day! We took our kits to Yonehara beach and saw tons of magical tropical fish~
No complaints! Highly recommend this place~ Note: Be aware that it’s 3 flights of stairs to get up to this hostel (just in case you are traveling with someone that this might be an issue for!) :)

Reviewed Mar 27, 20265min walk from Ishigaki ferry and bus terminal, Hive has ideal location for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Clean and well managed property together with friendly and cordial staff made my trip to Ishigaki pleasant and comfortable. Strongly recommended.
It could be a little noisy at night.
