Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel
It was very cosy and had a large car park. It was well run, good food , a bar and restaurant.
The breakfast plates were not warmed. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice though.
Great location for Hayling island golf club. Lots of parking and good breakfast.
Limited food times and nothing much in walking distance. Hayling island was a big disappointment, old and tired.
Clean, comfortable, excellent staff and good.
Have to checkout!!
Staff were fantastic. Location great. Beds comfortable
Location
It’s in a great location
The mobile air conditioner provided was useless and made more noise than a tractor. The breakfast was plentiful but was all precooked-cooked and lukewarm warm. For the price I expected better
Very nice staff, menu the same as two years ago. Hot food not very hot
A new menu and the food served hot
Ground floor room with twin beds suited us fine. It was quiet and comfortable
noisy wedding guests on one night, but we did know in advance
Good
Twin beds were extremely uncomfortable. Towels were very thin and smelt unclean, room cleanliness poor
The location of the hotel
The breakfast room was too small and couldn't accommodate every one. We had to wait in the bar area for a table. There was only one member of staff to control everything on his own. Consequently people were getting in each other's way having to get a self service breakfast.
Plenty of parking, nice staff
Lovely hotel and staff. Breakfast was amazing and nothing too much trouble.
Early morning deliveries waking me up at approx 630 on 2 mornings of my 3 night stay.
Lovely quaint hotel, central on Hayling Island and easy access to Portsmouth and places near by. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice, it was regularly topped up.
It's an old property with no lift and the stairs are steep and the steps are small. The room we were in could have done with another bedside table as only one.
Have stayed here before. This time had booked multiple rooms for family members as we were staying in Hayling for a funeral. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. We were in a double room which was very comfortable. The bar in the evening was nice and they played great background music!
The only downside was that we had people talking quite loudly outside our room very early in the morning. We were in room 9 which was next to a couple of doors marked "private" and I wonder if they were members of staff. They didn't seem to have the concept of lowering their voices at 7am!!!
Walkable to Seacourt. Breakfast included. Housekeeping was very good.
The functions were noisy.
My wife & I have used the Newtown Hotel for the last 30 odd years & it's location is perfect for meeting family & the beach.
The black pudding was very rubbery.
It was lovely and cute
The breakfast wasn’t that warm
Comfortable room and excellent bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. A hotel with a good atmosphere.
Comfy well laid out room, friendly staff, great breakfast, loads of parking.
Wish we were warned about the event happening across the courtyard. Even with the windows shut the music was something else, but the participants had a great time!
Chloe was very accommodating super helpful Room was spotless Very beautiful and peaceful stay and surroundings Breakfast 5*
Nothing everything was perfect
A lovely hotel in a large plot with plenty of space
The breakfast room was crowded and I was surprised at the self service . No fresh fruit and very limited yoghurt choice.
The staff were friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. Food was good and catered for people with allergies. Hotel was in a peaceful area and had everything you required.
Rooms small but it is due to the age of the building. Needs some updating of rooms.
Lovely architecture and position
Maybe some new paint
Rooms hotel and breakfast was lovely relaxing and comfortable
Nothing
Good location for what we wanted friendly staff good breakfast
Everything
Everything
We stayed in the annexe, which I believe has the larger rooms. Ours was quiet and a very good size. No shuffling around the bed to get past anything. Everything was clean, freshly painted white, and overall the room felt very nice. The bathroom was also very good and spotless. My partner was especially pleased that it had a bath, and the shower over the bath had strong water pressure. Evening meal and breakfast were both very good quality. In the case of the evening meal, it’s definitely not one of those places that microwaves a boxed dinner — it was proper food, well cooked. Parking is easy, and the location is convenient for reaching the town and the beaches.
Nothing major. The Wi‑Fi was very slow in the morning . Not sure if that was just a one‑off, as it had been fine the previous evening. Dinner service finishes at 8 pm, and you need to arrive before then to place your order. For us that was a bit early, but not the end of the world
It was v average
Very hot Poor ventilation Very average
Breakfast, bar, staff, was clean, peaceful and lovely. Very close to the beach.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us tips on things to do. My parents stayed in a family room and that was huge, with a great balcony overlooking the garden. The garden itself was lovely, despite the effects of the drought. The rooms were all very well equipped with tea, coffee, fan, hairdryer etc. Parking was very easy and the hotel was nice and near to the places we wanted to visit. Breakfast was good - a decent variety, self-service, and a lovely, sunny room.
My room was situated round the back which made it rather noisy. Due to the heatwave I had to have the windows open and I got woken up by delivery drivers slamming their doors and hotel staff getting things out of the room adjacent to mine. It would be helpful if staff could bear in mind that guests may wish to sleep in a little. I also found the shower difficult to use. There is no indication as to which direction to turn the knob to make the water warm so I spent a frustrating five minutes trying to adjust it. Perhaps a little sign could be added.
Great location, lovely bonus of live music
The greeting we got and the service at dinner
Nothing i didn't like
Nil
There was a wedding function on the day and it was noisy throughout the night with music and singing
Spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast area was quite small.
Great Location, helpful and friendly staff, bar and garden
Always an amazing breakfast. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
Lovely hotel and furnishing with nice garden. Breakfast excellent, highly recommended.
Good value
Property and grounds all perfect
Not something that can be addressed but the drive onto Hayling was very congested
Great stay. Convenient location. Comfy bed. Very friendly staff.
The person in the room next door had their TV playing quite loud quite late.
Breakfast matched what you expected from a buffet, Parking was excellent, Staff were very friendly
Bed was a little uncomfortable and was only a double
The staff were very pleasant and helpful during our recent stay.
I like the building and the everything in it
My room was small although in other people reviews they said room were very spacious
Room was clean well layed out and had every thing kettle, fan, iron, hairdryer and safe. Full english with plenty on offer, well cooked sausages tastey.
Unfortunatley we booked when weddings were been held, but once music finished was nice and quiet.
Lovely clean room, nice setting and delicious breakfast!
Very comfortable hotel. Lovely surroundings. Both evenings had music which was a bonus. Staff friendly & helpful.
Minor issues: One window didn't shut properly & one blind slightly broken. Otherwise all good.
Great location lovely clean room ,garden was lovely there was a singer in garden in the evening was a great atmosphere
We were kept waiting to check in for hour as cleaners wernt finished wich wasn't a problem as we sat in garden / bar but the lady at reception was rude and had a terrible attitude and not helpful at all !! Our room had air con unit but when asked the lady if we could have remote to turn it on as was very hot and room was above the kitchen she was rude again with her response and didn't allow us to use it
Booked last minute for just one night as visiting family on Hayling and at QA hospital. Booked a family room for myself and my sister as there weren't any twin rooms available at time of booking. The room (10) was nice and bright with one double and two single beds. Nice outside roof terrace with double doors onto it (we just opened the doors but didn't venture onto the terrace as there was no furniture or there) The recruiting staff were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast, which was included, was very nice with plenty of choice - cereals, yogurts, pastries, toast and all elements of a cooked breakfast available buffet style plus juices and tea/coffee. The hotel had a very homely geek about it. We arrived fairly late so didn't go into the lounge area or the bar so can't comment on those. The garden area looked huge and very welcoming. Overall I would recommend a stay here, when we booked it was a better rate than the Premier Inn!!
Only a couple of niggles: the blinds on the window in the room let in a lot of light so if you need a dark room I'd suggest bringing an eye mask. Also it's not particularly sound proof, we could hear music we think from the next room, but it didn't go on too late.
Beautiful building and location. Comfortable room and lovely food selection. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
We stay here regularly’ it’s an old building with lots of history, has a lovely garden that is always very well kept. It also a large bonus carpark.
We did have a complaint but it was dealt with very quickly, reception staff were excellent.
Griendly courteous staff and nice location
Very nice place
Room was a lot bigger than expected. Clean and very very cozy🥰 Bed was our favourite 🤩
Breakfast good choice. Quiet area. Staff friendly and helpful. Spacious room.
Kettle in room was too big to fill from the tap in bathroom. T.v. not well positioned for watching in bed.
We’ve stayed here a few times and we always have an enjoyable stay. Easy accessible location with a bonus carpark, lovely well kept gardens.
This time we had a problem with the blinds and the tv in our room. We were only in the room for the evening so told reception in the morning.
Leider haben die Zimmer keinen Kühlschrank. Wir haben die Unterkunft gebucht um nach Goodwood zu fahren. Abends hatten wir keine Lust noch ein Drink an der Bar zu nehmen.
Beautiful building, nice garden, comfortable room and helpful staff
This is a nice modest hotel but completely out of line with the luxury price. Room was tiny, though not horrible. Breakfast was about the same as an economy chain. We did not experience dinner as they simply did not serve any (even though we booked in advance by phone). If you need to eat in the evening there is a lovely Thai restaurant you can walk to. Staff were cheerful.
Breakfast was a good, plenty of choice. Bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of storage.
Curtains would have been useful as blinds did not keep light out in the morning
Great hotel with a lovely garden and staff.
Nothing to dislike. We had room 5 this time and room 2 last time. 2 was a bigger room and bathroom but both good. More vege options on the menu!
The live music..open restaurant
It was all good
Niente
Tutto
tolles Ambiente, spitzen Lage
Das Zimmer war für diesen Preis zu klein. Man konnte kaum 2 Koffer offen hinlegen.
Great atmosphere and car show that was going on
No air conditioning
Lovely location, very clean and cozy setting
I feel it was slightly over priced
Heerlijk ontbijt, super vriendelijk personeel, schone kamer.
Pl. A konyha mellett volt.
Said dog free hotel but dogs in room next to us barking at 2 am and 5am
Lovely location. Bedroom large & comfortable. Brilliant view of the hotel gardens. Bathroom large and excellent shower
No fridge in room which cost £209 for 1 night. Breakfast room we dirty - dead flies on window ledge, widows tired and need replacement, knives had finger marks on blade, silver terrines used to hold hot food were dirty. Lack of Gluten free options at breakfast (in my notes when booking made)
Really lovely people that were super accommodating, I had to leave early and they were very accommodating with the request. I originally booked purely cause it was the cheapest, not expecting much, but it wasn't cheap at all!
Hotel clean staff friendly and room comfortable.
Air .com noise through the night so unable to sleep properly no not water from shower on several occasions.
Beautiful, full of character
Nothing
The room was exceptional and the beds were very comfortable. The gardens are lovely.
The shower doors were very hard to close as the runners required lubricantion.
Welcoming reception staff, nice breakfast, nice duel aspect room, lovely kept gardens, plenty of parking, ,
Shower cubical needs a wire basket too put soap etc , as rather awkward to keep bending to place soaps flannel etc, limited dinner menu, waitress need a lesson from reception staff on charm , menu’s over priced, boo
Everything
Excellent small hotel. Quite traditional with good service and facilities. Handy location. Food good. Plenty of parking. Staff friendly and helpful.
No problems - would go again.
Very nice old house, well located. Good breakfast 99% lovely staff including the South African lady who worked in the bar.
Initial welcome by a young staff member , not good. Situation quickly rectified by wonderful manager called Sarah, who was incredibly professional and could not do enough for us. 5*****. Beds need mattress toppers as very hard. Pillows need replacing as also very hard but our room was very nice and bathroom clean and modern.
Good to be able to help yourself to breakfast Staff was helpful ,Good size pot of tea. black pudding very nice
Very well run. Staff efficient and friendly
Good 5 star and very comfortable and clean
The breakfast was excellent. Staff most helpful.
Nothing
Staff were helpful and attentive.
Great breakfast, very good location
Nothing, all good
Clean room nice breakfast
Friendly staff Location
The welcome & warmth of the staff. This hotel I had booked on the wrong dates. They not only didn't charge us. But upgraded our room free of charge . Due to the Cancer issue I am dealing with at the moment.
Nothing to not like in my opinion
Was very nice
Gemoedelijke sfeer en gastvrijheid
Aan de WC borstel zaten nog klonten en WC papier. Weinig legruimte voor koffer.
Excellent location for golf next day at Hayling
Nothing
The atmosphere and the staff. We liked the small family run hotel it was just the right size. The well maintained gardens. The extras that you got in the restaurant such as bread rolls and proper table cloths.
The bathroom was really tiny in one of our rooms. The rooms facing the garden in the ground floor annexe can be a bit noisy if there’s something going on in the bar / function rooms. Room was quite bright due to outside lights.
Very friendly staff, live music in the garden when we arrived and lovely and sunny so a wine and a pint from the bar complimented the afternoon 😃
The room was the bridle sweet which was lovely and the cooked full English breakfast went down well before we left. The staff were amazing here too. We only had 1 night before getting the ferry to the Isle of Wight but will definitely stay again but for longer.
Grounds and location Evening meals were excellent
Noise from other guests letting doors with self closers slam at all hours We stayed four nights and room was only serviced once. Stayed here before a few years ago and it was really lovely…this time it had more of a feel of a pub with rooms rather than a hotel.
Great stay. Staff are warm and friendly. Excellent breakfast.
We had a lovely breakfast every thing you called won't and the staff were great 😋
Felt the atmosphere was excellent staff very helpful, I will rebook again.
All good
The room was very clean and the staff very friendly
Large spacious room, comfortable bed. Friendly staff, from Chloe the receptionist to Magda and the gent working hard to make breakfast go well. Lovely food in the restaurant and nice outside space.
