Excellente nuit avant de traverser la frontière laotienne ! Les chambres sont spacieuses, le personnel vraiment très sympa, et on peut manger sur place le soir. Une nuit reposante avec vue magnifique sur la nature, un grand merci pour l'accueil !

Perfect location in serene setting with restaurant/ resting area overlooking gardens. Lovely large rooms with views & great attention to detail. Dinner & breakfast were good. Attentive host, nothing too much problem. Other reviewers had said this was the best hotel they’d stayed at in Thailand & wished they’d stayed longer & they weren’t exaggerating. Perfect!

Huge room equiped with everything necessary. Nice balcony with spectacular view. Neck (son of May) was extremely attentive and competent. For smokers important: on balcony allowed, near restaurant designated area but very close (and dry, during rain season).

This was honestly the best place I stayed in Thailand. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly. My room had an amazing view, and waking up to the sounds of nature every morning was a great experience. The food was delicious, and the rooftop had a lovely view.The whole property was quiet, and surrounded by beautiful nature. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a peaceful stay with wonderful staff and stunning views, this is it!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb der Stadt dafür mitten im Grünen mit einem tollen Ausblick nach Laos. Wir blieben 5 Nächte und konnten so das leckere Frühstück ( mit sehr gutem Brot ) und auch die leckeren Speisen zum Abendessen genießen. Nek der uns immer so lieb und gut gelaunt bediente machte den Aufenthalt perfekt. Die Zimmer sind fantastisch und super sauber...jeden Tag wird geputzt und es gibt neue Handtücher. Vielen Dank Nek 😀

Man braucht ein Auto oder Motorrad um die weitere Gegend zu erkunden. Fahrräder werden vom Haus gestellt und man kann über einen neuen Fahrradweg in die Stadt fahren.

Wonderful room, spacious and overlooking lush gardens. The staff were excellent, attentive, kind and enthusiastically helpful.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are huge with the most beautiful view. The family who run the hotel are wonderful, friendly and so helpful. We only stayed one night before taking the Laos cruise. We really wished we stayed longer here instead of Chiang Rai. HIGHLY recommend staying here.

A hidden gem in a stunning natural setting. The property sits on expansive grounds with gardens and beautiful views, and our room felt more like a private suite than a hotel stay. What made it special was the people. Nak (the owner’s son) is an exceptional host — passionate, generous, and deeply connected to the area (and his motorbike tours are worth considering). And Auntie’s Northern Thai dinner? Easily the standout meal of our entire trip — authentic, generous, and cooked with real heart. Bonlinger take: This is a place to truly dwell. The staff was exceptional! Veryfriendly, respecful and accomodating. We were there for one night just fir the boat trip, so the location was convenient. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing stay at Baan Sakuna. We got a free upgrade to a room with a view over the Mekong but regardless we’re sure any room would have been lovely. The rooms were spotless, amazing shower and comfortable beds. The staff were also really lovely, Nak went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable he was so friendly! We wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we came again!

Tout est parfait. Le cadre est magnifique, la chambre également, vaste et élégante. On y est au calme. Il se dégage vraiment une impression de zenitude dès qu'on arrive. L'accueil et le service sont exceptionnels. Je ne peux que vous conseiller de manger sur place, je me suis régalée, tout est fait maison. Je précise également que l'hôtel est mieux que sur les photos. C'est vraiment un excellent rapport qualité prix

Super hotel, de eigenaren zijn zeer aardig en behulpzaam. De kamers maar ook het gehele hotel en restaurant zijn super schoon. De kamers zijn heel ruim met een zithoek. Alle kamers hebben een balkon met uitzicht over de Mekong. Heerlijk avondeten en ontbijt. Perfecte uitvalsbasis om verder te reizen naar Laos. En ongelofelijk goedkoop voor wat je krijgt. Absoluut een aanrader.

Very convenient location to go to the frontier but also to visit North Thailand. We arrived very late and our host kindly sent us the menu to order in order for us to have diner before restaurant closure. The room was big,all equipments worked well and the furniture were nice and chosen with care. The restaurant was very cosy and food was good.

Baan Sakuna was a lovely place to stay. The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived, they could not have been more helpful, even getting bikes back on the road for us. Food was very tasty too. Great place.

Really enjoyed my stay here, the best place during my 3 week trip in Thailand. The room was very comfortable and spacious with beautiful views of the mekong river over the fields, very relaxing place. There are a few bars/restaurants nearby or can walk into town along newly built path alongside river, the restaurant on site is excellent though so no need to go anywhere. The family owners are very friendly and speak very good English.

Very convenient for taking one of the longboat cruises on the Mekong into Laos. The atmosphere is fun as almost all guests are overnighting before their cruise. They serve dinner and good cocktails too and the staff are all very friendly.

Die Unterkunft hat voll und ganz unsere Erwartungen erfüllt und war ein super Startpunkt, um am nächsten Tag die Grenze nach Laos zu überqueren.

Very peaceful location with excellent comfortable room. Our host was very friendly and helpful, early breakfast to allow plenty of time for border crossing and even help with paperwork was a bonus! Thank you.

A Mosquito screen for the balcony door would have been nice.

Wij verbleven hier slechts 1 nacht omdat wij op doorreis waren van Chiang Rai naar Laos. Maar het verblijf was zo fantastisch dat we hier makkelijk langer hadden kunnen blijven. Enorm grote, schone kamer, prima douche en bed, fijn balkon met prachtig uitzicht over groene omgeving. Heerlijk avond gegeten en lekker ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel die bereid zijn van alles te regelen (taxi naar grensovergang). Fantastisch verblijf voor een fantastische prijs.

The property was beautiful! Everything from our room, view, dining area was spectacular. Our hostess was lovely, attentive to our questions and helpful by suggesting what to do. We had only a one night stay and next time it will be more!

Very well organised and comfortable hotel. They arranged early taxi to the border to get the slow boat. Also had very efficient and tasty dinner and breakfast. The hotel had cycles to borrow and there is a fabulous cycle path alongside the Mekong into town which was a good way to spend a few hours before moving on.

Dit kleinschalige hotel is prachtig gelegen. Het uitzicht is fantastisch. De locatie is wat verder van het dorp, maar voor 1 nacht was dit prima. Je hebt echt persoonlijke aandacht van de eigenaresse en haar zoon. Familie kookt dus je kan hier ook eten. Via een kleine wandeling kan je een mooi pad langs de Mekong wandelen. Ook is er een grote supermarkt op loopafstand. Het hotel regelde onze taxi voor de volgende ochtend naar de grens met Laos. Wij hadden een hele ruime kamer!

De prijzen van eten en drinken in het hotel zijn hoger dan we gewend waren. Ze passen de prijzen aan aan de toeristen. Dit geldt ook voor de taxi naar de grens.

Tout ! Absolument tout était génial. La chambre très spacieuse, bien agencé, très belle vue, propre, équipée, la chambre était parfaite. Très bon restaurant, beaucoup de choix, et vraiment délicieux, tout comme les petits déjeuners. La gérante de l’établissement a tout simplement été géniale, elle nous a aidé, elle a été de très bons conseils, et su répondre à toutes nos questions, toujours avec le sourire. Le personnel en général est également super. Le meilleur séjour qu’on ai pu passer en Thaïlande, et probablement un des meilleurs qu’on a passé en général.

Stunning property, great view, and the lady at the desk was exceptional. Rooms were big, spacious, clean, and had beautiful furniture. The food was amazing, the location was gorgeous. Would visit again just to stay at this property. My advice book an extra day here.

It’s originality and the view. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. The room was huge and very clean.

The restaurant is on a Terrace and in Winter quite chilly in the mornings and at Night. Food was ok but not so special.

The hosts are amazing- very hospitable- we felt like family. We had our dinner meal as well as breakfast. The food was delicious- authentic local fresh. 100% recommended.

Our second visit and we were equally impressed by the genuine hospitality of Mai & Nak. It’s been a perfect 5 nights getaway from it all. Spacious room, tasty breakfast if needed. Wheelchair friendly. Close to the Mekong and many nice places to explore in the neighborhood.

My husband and I loved this hotel. Everything from the moment we arrived was exceptional. The room was large and spotlessly clean. The meals were delicious and the view was spectacular. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend this hotel.

78 y/o Aussies. December 2025 This is an exceptional property. Huge grounds & gardens. Easy walk to bank of Mekong. Rooms are huge, balcony, views, all facilities. Restaurant area is magnificent. Food was superb., not expensive. May(?) The owner, Manager, all round organiser is priceless. Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night on way to border crossing to Laos. Should have booked a week. Key word is exceptional, allow more than overnight. The absolute best Irish Coffee anywhere in the world & we have had a few.

Jokingly, would have loved a few Elephants wandering around the gardens as i sipped my gin tonic. . It is that sort of place.

Meraviglioso, nient’altro da aggiungere. Camera enorme, pulita e dotata di ogni comfort, struttura bellissima immersa nel verde, una delle migliori cene e per questo, nonostante, la sveglia presto abbiamo voluto provare anche la colazione. Posizione decentrata rispetto al centro di Chiang Khong ma siamo arrivati nel tardo pomeriggio e ripartivamo prestissimo per la crociera quindi non è stato un problema. Nota di merito per la proprietaria, sotto ogni aspetto.

Baan Sakuna Resort“ Großartig ! Mutter und Sohn, Mai und Nak ein unschlagbares Team. Unglaublich herzlich, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Eine Perle im „Goldenen Dreieck“ von Thailand, eine Oase der Ruhe und der Stille. Die Lage am Mekong, die vorherrschende Farbe saftiges Grün, der Blick über den Mekong nach Laos brennen sich in das Gedächtnis ein. Das Zimmer mit Balkon sauber, die Betten herrlich. Die Speisen im Restaurant köstlich, dazu dieser unglaubliche Blick. Ich wünsche dem „Baan Sakuna Resort“ eine glückliche Zukunft und Gäste die das zu schätzen wissen. Ich wäre gern länger geblieben, schon wegen Nak dem Motocross Biker und seiner sympathischen Mutter. Fahrt hin und genießt ein paar unvergessliche Stunden am Mekong im „Goldenen Dreieck“.

Quiet location with beautiful kept grounds amidst lush green trees. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds with nice bed linens. The owner and family and their staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Mai and Nak were the loveliest hosts that we've had on our whole one month journey. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and all the delicious food! They cook everything from scratch and all the food was really really good! Some of the best on our whole journey. They make their own bread and jam, etc as well. We felt right at home here. The room was even nicer than in the images, very spacious, beautiful traditional solid wood furniture, amazing views from the private balcony, comfy bed and a nice big bathroom. We would've loved to stay longer! Thank you so much for your lovely warm welcoming hospitality Mai and Nak!

Amazing staff, beautiful location, incredible rooms

My partner and I stayed here for one evening, we arrived late in the afternoon and left sharp in the morning. Upon arrival the staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Our room was beautiful, very clean and had the most amazing views. We ate in the restaurant and had a couple of drinks to soak up the beautiful views. Both my partner and I said we would high,y recommend. The only comment to make is that there really is nothing around this hotel, it is very secluded. But, we knew this when we booked and it was perfect for what we needed! Definitely not a negative just a point to make if people are thinking of booking.

Everything!! Huge, comfortable, spotlessly clean room and bathroom with beautiful views. Great food for breakfasts and dinners. Peaceful location. Lovely hosts. I borrowed a bicycle and went into town along the path next to the Mekong which was a great way to spend some time.

There is nothing to not like. I just wish I’d booked to stay for longer - 2 nights definitely not enough!
