Le Meridien Zhongshan

The hotel offers excellent facilities, a comfortable environment, and a prime location. Yet the restaurant does not fully utilize the beautiful venue, with food quality remaining average. Wi-Fi access is limited to domestic networks, which is unsuitable for an international hotel group. If the restaurant enhances its offerings and the Wi-Fi is opened to global connectivity, this room would truly become a highly worthwhile place to stay.

My wife and I have been fortunate to stay in many fine hotels around the world, and we’ve experienced more than our share of executive lounges. At this point in our lives, we value genuine hospitality over polished but impersonal service. That’s exactly what we found in Piko Zhang at the executive lounge. From the moment we walked in, Piko made us feel truly welcome – not with rehearsed lines, but with a warm, sincere smile that reached his eyes. He remembered our names after the first greeting, and more importantly, he remembered how we liked our tea and which corner table by the window my wife preferred. What touched us most was his quiet attentiveness. One evening, I casually mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. Without any fuss, Piko arranged a small plate of desserts and two glasses of sparkling wine, and came over to wish us well with such genuine happiness that it felt like a friend celebrating with us. He didn’t overdo it – he simply listened and cared. In an age where so much service feels automated or indifferent, Piko Zhang reminded us what true hospitality means. He clearly takes pride in his work and genuinely wants every guest to leave with a smile. Thank you, Piko – you turned a good stay into a truly memorable one. We will certainly return because of you.

To be honest, the stay was disappointing. There was no one to help with luggage when I arrived at the front door. My room smelled of smoke when I arrived. An air-purifier was then placed in the room which provided a little bit of improvement only and it started to produce "clicking" sounds on the 2nd night. The safe was not functioning due to low battery, but this was fixed promptly. The rainforest shower head was broken, I forgot to report it, but house keeping should have notice this if they have checked it. Dust was visible at the foot of the wall and bathroom door. Room is quite dim, I would prefer more lighting in the room. Otherwise, the room is very spacious, staffs were friendly and welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room provided was ideal—spacious, modern, and beautifully renovated. The executive lounge was impressive, offering a wide variety of delicious food, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, perfectly suited to Cantonese tastes. The location was also very convenient, with shopping malls nearby, making it easy to dine and shop. The only minor downside was the low water pressure in the bathroom, which could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!

Great front reception. Bella and Hailey were very helpful. Both have great personalities. Hotel is near a shopping mall which has some nice restaurants. Executive lounge offers a nice view of Zhongshan. Staff were also very friendly there.

This is our first time to visit Poly Le Meridien hotel, I very appreciate F&B department staff name Ms. Shirley Zhang wen ting, who give our unforgettable buffet experience due to it is my father birthday. Thank you!

When I arrived, only 1 reception staff on the phone with 4 guests including me to be served. I have to get the Concierge to call the FOM to assist with check in. Room accommodation is up to expectation but not F&B. All 3 days breakfast did not see a change of menu even the hot dishes, first in my lifetime staying in a five stars hotel. Lobby lounge staff is so lost and do not know what to do. Maintenance is so poor or staff is not reporting. 2nd floor male toilet soap dispenser malfunction and lift landing wall pictures missing over the whole period of stay. Never see that before too.

Pillows are too soft leaving with a bad neck after two nights stay.

The food was horrible and it took 1 hour to cook ( soup and salad), the receptionists did not know about dinner options at the hotel , the water at the pool was freezing which doesn’t make sense in winter , unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool because it was too cold unlike other hotels.

Bad service, the housekeeper gave us 20 mn to leave the room so that he can clean the room! The floor in the restaurant is sticky, dirty. Such a shame for such a beautiful hotel!

I booked the hotel rooms for the clients. Provided the credit card numbers...expect them to debit my card. Instead they asked the clients to pay for the rooms. Their hotel numbers takes ages to have a person to answer. It's don't know its the problem of booking.com over this payment issues

I had a pleasant 1-night stay here in March. I arrived before normal check-in time, but was given a room without any issues --- Thank you! The breakfast was excellent. I didn't try the swimming pool this time, but hope to on any future trip. The location seems fine --- I didn't really stray more than a few hundred meters from the hotel. The lounge is nice, but the Happy Hour drinks (and food) were very limited --- two types of beer, red and white wine. No spirits/etc?! The beer ran out early, but staff weren't able to replace/replenish?! Very disappointing! Apart from the Happy Hour, it was a very pleasant stay. Nevertheless, my next night at Sheraton Zhongshan was much better, and I'd recommend Sheraton over Meridien...

An elegant art museum-like hotel with lots of hidden gems. Despite peak season with overly crowded tourists during the golden week holiday, attentive staffs take good care of guests like their own family with unlimited patience; you could sense smile beneath face masks from lobby floor to lounge, from housekeeping to gym. Special thanks to Alice Wu and Coral Lin from the lounge for their warm-hearted welcoming and hospitality during the stay. Thanks to Kian Liu for speedy check-in and efficient service, and it was lovely to see GM Zhou interacting genuinely with guests/kids with tremendous leadership and dedication. Lots of variety from the breakfast buffet with friendly staffs and excellent work from manager Ou and his team for checking dining floors ensuring spot on food/service quality. Would be nice to have some brut selection at the lounge and be sure to visit the gym, indoor pool/sauna, Kawai baby grand and thank you Nature Chang for the great photo and sweet words, thank you all for the impressive team work!

Since it's China's National holiday, as well as Covid-19's restrictions, it's rare to have such an outstanding experience. Specially thanks to Alice Wu and Coral Lin at Lounge, they even made time to celebrate my birthday in advance. And thanks to the female staff whose name I forgot at the front desk as well to arrange a great room under such capacity.

The two-day itinerary is very comfortable, a very romantic hotel, the style of the hotel is very comfortable, the food produced in the lobby bar is very high-quality, it is worth tasting. The hotel staff are particularly enthusiastic, including Echo Zhou from the executive lounge, Mike Wang, the duty manager, Ms. Luo from the lobby bar, and Ays Milly from the reservation department. As a member of the Marriott Group, the hotel has upgraded the suites and the rooms are spacious and bright. This is the best hotel I have stayed in Zhongshan. I have stayed at the Westin Zhongshan and Sheraton Zhongshan, but they are not as good as Le Méridien Zhongshan.

I am shocked to see how a prestigious hotel such as Le Meridien (known as the best hotel in Zhongshan) can apply the concept of “early bird” marketing campaign so wrong! My wife bought 3 tickets for the Christmas dinner for our family (costing RMB620 each, or well over USD100 apiece!) a few days ago. Then, yesterday Le Meridien’s marketing genius created a new campaign selling the tickets for the same price but now offering for free afternoon teas tickets (worth over RMB120 each), which means that we were fooled by the advertised “Early Bird promotion”! Basically, dear Le Meridien, you created a way to punish “early bird” customers. It is irritating and absurd, not just for the money (since we can obviously afford afternoon teas, thank you very much), but for the PRINCIPLE. It is just WRONG to lie to your customers with bulls*** like “be fast to get the best deal”... After getting in touch and asking for explanations, we still haven’t heard from the hotel. It is a really not smart way to handle scarce, local customers during a COVID-19 crisis. Your hotel were empty for months until very recently. You should value us, customers, a little more...

I stayed at this Hotel while traveling on business in Zhongshan. The hotel is brand new, very conveniently located and a very chic hotel. The rooms are very roomy and modern. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the onside parking garage made it very easy to park my car. The breakfast buffet was simply incredible with a huge choice of Chinese as well as western food selections

This is a fabulous and new hotel.The room was spacious and bathroom was superb, clean and tidy at all times with a big bath tub, loved it! The pool and gym was well equipped and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Their breakfast buffet was exceptional with a huge variety of choices. Booked a room for 3 adults but got 2 breakfast only. Successfully checked in 3 adults but hotel insisted they under charged in the booking system so could not offer the 3rd breakfast. A bit ridiculous!! On the first morning only 2 of us enjoyed the breakfast. On the 2nd morning they were willing to give us the 3rd breakfast but we decided to check out early. Totally disappointed when you bear the name Le Meriden. Sorry but never never stay again.

We stayed at Le Meridien for 4 nights with a 2 year old baby in December. As non-Chinese speakers, we were a bit worried in the beginning but as it turned out we had a very nice and pleasant stay. The hotel is beautiful and is fairly new and modern. The room is spacious (we stayed at one of their suites) and very clean with high techs. Not all of their employees speak good English however they were eager to help and tried to accommodate all of our needs which was very impressive. Special thanks to the manager and staff (Amanda, Koke and Daniel) at their Executive lounge. They were helpful, gracious and very nice to us and also to the baby. We will definitely go back and look forward to our next stay!

The hotel rooms are very big, The hotel staffs are nice and helpfull. There are plenty of food choice for buffet in the morning. The hotel is located near the City centre. only 20 min drive by taxi. Able to upgrade the room very easly.

Having my national holiday with Family in LM Zhongshan. The hotel is new and beautiful, there is the peak season in Oct. because of the National holiday, obviously, the hotel staff try their best to provide top service but still having many complain. waiting too long for check in, lack of food, hand shorted in the Lounge. Anyway, the LM zhongshan worth to stay.

Le Meridien used to be an excellent hotel but this stay totally changed my mind. Check in this hotel took almost an hour. There are only 3 reception front desk. The reception system is a mess. Took 10 to 15 minutes to finish the check in process. Check in at around 2 pm. Around 2:45 found out there is no room available until 5 pm. I was given a lounge drink to settle. The room I was given is a twin bed room while I booked king bed room. It took another half an hour to get a room changed. Next morning at 7:45 the construction site next to the hotel start working. No joke it's a whole day of heavy metal noises. The morning buffet restaurant is like a zoo. No seating system in place. You have people standing besides your table to wait for seating. Food is terrible. Just too many people and too few seats. The hotel even set up big tables outside the restaurant for sharing. The service level is just not acceptable. I do not recommend this hotel.

Daniel the attendant in the executive lounge was a very good host. We loved the Meridien. The lounge and the rooms were great. The views were very good and especially the smile of Daniel was unforgettably.

This is the second time staying here and both times I have received excellent, very attentive service from all staff. Rooms are beautifully decorated and of an exceptionally high standard with all the amenities you would expect. Wide choice of options at breakfast, and a good bar menu (top tip - if vegetarian, just ask the staff to adapt one of the existing menu items for you, which they are more than happy to do). Conveniently close to Zhongshan ferry terminal. Highly recommended.

Hotel is new and just outside the City Center (about 15 Mins by Cab to City) Its near expressway so give easy access to other cities nearby. It rather new and rooms are big and comfy. Not much to do in the surrounding area. But a nice stay away from city and good for weekend get away. Staff are still new and service level may not be that great yet but I think they will get there in time to come. Mostly Locals staying some tours not much business crowd, lounge is mostly quiet. There is a mall beside the hotel but not much to offer except KFC, Cinema, and some Restaurant. Pool is nice with underwater speakers so very relaxing as you swim.

the property is very new and looks good, however the software still need to upgrade. We went to have breakfast in the morning down to café and it serves buffet which has relative good spread however, there is no waitering at all. no waiters or waitress at sight so we need to find a table that has placement of fork and knife. Lot of dirty tables that were not clear off. Went to Chinese restaurant and food is quite good and there were enough people serving so that was good. We have ordered some room service, the food is quite good however the floor of my suite is full of stains from the table rollers and shoes of the person that deliver the food so they must have pass through area of dirt before they came in our room so that need to be look at.

Hotel less than a year old, rooms and facilities are excellent. The rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Most of this are mentioned in the reviews for the hotel, plus the excellent rates to attract occupancy. The warm service and professionalism of the staff really impressed me. I would like to mention 3 individuals. Amelia @ the Executive lounge :- A hassle and no fuss check-in despite my numerous request. Also, helping me my last minute cancellation. Additionally, she went the extra mile to help locate a screw driver so i could fix my luggage wheel. Kevin Xian @ Maintenance Staff :- The screw driver was from him. Unfortunately, it was not the right size. He took the effort without me requesting to locate the correct tool to fix my wheels. Thanks Kevin! Nature Chong @ Guest Service Mgr :- After my cancellation was escalated by Amelia. Nature took the initiative to contact Marriott Reservation and arrange everything. After that, she located me during breakfast and explained the situation. Thank you all for an enjoyable and memorable stay.

I stayed overnight recently on business, the hotel is relatively new with very good rooms and facilities. It was very quiet in both the restaurants and bar. The staff were friendly and attentive, the main restaurant had a wide choice of food for dinner and breakfast and the quality and presentation was good. The location of the hotel is primarily surrounded by multi story businesses and a bit sterile. I didn’t venture out but I have been told by a colleague that there is a shopping mall nearby.

Stayed here for two nights for business instead of my usual Hilton - pros: brand new, good rate, closer to my place of business, upgrade to huge room, wood floors as opposed to carpet avoiding humidity smell Cons: executive lounge is a disaster, no food or timely breakfast, no English speaking staff, not even milk for my coffee. Lack of dining choices both st hotel and in the area. Bottom line if food options were better this would be a no brainier - if I had to stay longer would go back to Hilton as in a more active area. But likely will go back as there to work not leisure so is the logical choice
