Unclear on arrival about how the parking is accessed, top floor not ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties due to steep stairs and heavy fire doors.

Dinner and breakfast was outstanding. The staff were friendly, welcoming and obliging. The view and the decor was lovely and as detailed in the website.

The shower was difficult to manage in Room 4 and problematic with obtaining and sustaining hot water. The bed was not as comfortable as would be expected for the cost and pillows both soft.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had a lovely room with a view of the ocean from two sides of the room. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Our bags were in our room by the time we got back from parking our car. Breakfast was included, always fresh, plentiful and cooked to your liking. Staff always checked that we were happy with our meal and made us feel very looked after. A special mention to Lucy who would always chat us and ask us what our plans were for the day. Sonny was the same , always happy and made time for a chat. He also makes the best cup of coffee, a true barrister! It was honestly the best coffee we had since arriving in the UK. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. We would definitely stay here again. Great location, just a short walk to all the shops, restaurants and beaches.

Fantastic location, stunning views from the suite we stayed in. Owners/staff were amazing, nothing too much trouble. Food was delicious, coffee and cocktails were spot on.

From the minute we arrived Ethan and everyone made us feel welcome , carrying our very heavy bags to our room was unexpected and the theme for the rest of our stay. The granola and vegetarian breakfast was perfect and the best I’ve had in 2 months of travelling. We had dinner one night and the scallops were beyond delicious. The view from the dining room is breathtaking and a perfect place to relax with a drink during your day in St Ives. Location is the reason you compromise a little on room size, which while small was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The car park close to property and being able to drop and pick up bags was a huge bonus.

The minute we arrived Ethan helped carry our heavy bags upstairs, offered recommendations for places to go and other places to eat if we wanted alternatives to their restaurant. First rate service from everyone we encountered on our visit. The food here was amazing, breakfast delicious and I would recommend the scallops for starters at dinner , mouthwatering. It’s also a perfect place for a drink with a view during the day or evening. While our room was small it was comfortable and tastefully decorated, the location, and service fully makes up for this compromise. We were able to drop and collect bags and car park was only a short distance away, a huge bonus in St Ives.

Not all the hotel amenities- ie didn’t have an iron (fair enough not needed for every room but 1 available would have been good). Plumbing issues but every effort made to be resolved. Old building made everything very squeaky/loud. Not a problem for us but worth knowing.

Such a lovely Saturday night celebrating our daughter’s surprise engagement dinner, could not have asked for such wonderful bespoke food and service in your private room thank you.

I had a really great stay. Awesome spot near transport and heaps of food options. The views were fantastic and the staff were genuinely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast hit the spot too. Appreciate the hospitality.

As it was a street facing room, there was a lot of traffic noise. I suggest to change the window from shutters to a sound proof option. In summer months will be good to have a fan if AC is not possible.

Precio elevado. Ducha con poca presión de agua y no caliente. Mejoraria limpieza de ropa de cama. Acceso a las habitaciones por escalera muy estrecha e inclinada. No hay recepción 24 horas.

Great little hotel very close to the sea front. Easy walk down to the shops, bars and restaurants. The room was very comfy and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Parking located behind the hotel.

The shower in Room 1 was not at all powerful and the shower tray could do with an update.

An incredible stay. Fantastic location and wonderful and friendly bar staff. The food and coffee was 10/10. The breakfast was stunning. I do think the downstairs toilets need some love, and a water station for guests upstairs would be helpful.

I only stayed one night at Harbour View House and wish I had had more time there. IT was lovely, clean, welcoming and the view really was incredibly beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. I also enjoyed the discounted dinner the evening I stayed and the samphire pakora's were delicious, as were the scallops. A wonderful experience, would stay again.

We had the most wonderful stay at Harbour View House in St Ives, made even more special as we were celebrating our 7-year anniversary together. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The venue is beautiful, the location is incredible, and the attention to detail really made our stay feel special. A huge thank you to Anthony and the whole team, who were fantastic throughout. They were so welcoming, helpful and made us feel genuinely looked after. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special milestone, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We’ll definitely be back and would wholeheartedly recommend Harbour View House to anyone visiting St Ives.

Cet établissement est très bien situé, nous avions la chambre n°1 au 1er étage, la déco est très sympa et la vue était superbe, très reposante, tout le personnel est jeune et agréable. Nous avons diné sur place le soir et c'était très bon. Très bon petit déjeuner. Le parking est à 5mn à pieds juste une rue en-dessous, très pratique. C'est une adresse à recommander !

Juste la musique du restaurant juste en-dessous le matin à 7h45, c'est un peu tôt !

What a place! The views from the dining/bar area and room are very special and some of the best you will find. Awesome foods and great service. Definitely recommend.

Parking behind the property was a challenge in St Ives but the reserved space in the station was good.

We had a fantastic one night stay at Harbour View House for my mother’s birthday. The hotel is perfectly situated, being able to pre-book parking was a real plus. Room 4 had the most amazing view over St Ives harbour and was all very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast (included) was delicious. A special mention also for the staff who were all incredibly friendly and helpful- our bags were taken to the room whilst we parked and were there waiting for us which was amazing! All in all, brilliant value and wonderful stay. Would not hesitate to recommend and we’ll be back!

Everything about the hotel was stunning from arrival to departure. Every member of staff made us welcome and was attentive, calm, willing and kind. I wish I had names to thank people personally because each individual was wonderful. When we arrived (early) our bags were taken to our room and we have a drink in the restaurant and enjoyed the sublime views. We were then walked to our stunning room early and it was perfect from there. Our shower had a minor fault and they kindly comped us some drinks as a goodwill gesture - very much appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and they catered amazingly for a gluten free diet. My only regret was not staying longer!

We had a great one night stay at the Harbour View House. We had such a good time that we tried to extend our stay but they were fully booked. A great little place which was run by some really friendly people. We will definitely be returning and recommending this to others. The views from room 7 were amazing.

Great location!! Within walking distance of everything!! The most amazing view if St Ives out the bedroom window!! Breakfast was also great! Lots of choice.

If i was asked if there is anything that could be better I would say that rooms are a little tight if you have 2 suitcases but this is common in rooms in St Ives. The shower was very weak also.But i would stay here again and would recommend it to friends!

The location was good and view of the harbour lovely, cheap parking, check in check out chap nice and friendly.

Constant banging throughout the night, sqeeky beds, constant floor sqeeking. People banging on door and slamming doors, and windows. No fan in the room soooooo hot. No selection of breads offered at breakfast it was salty sour dough unable to eat.

This was our second stay here and we are already planning the next one. The location is perfect being a few minutes walk from the train station and so close to the main town of St Ives. A few minutes and your on Portminster Beach with the others not too far away either. The rooms are lovely and the dinning room has the most amazing view of the harbour. Staff are wonderful; so friendly, warm and welcoming; that for me makes the difference creating a great atmosphere and positivity, and we haven’t even stayed a night where they have their live music night.. added to our bucket list for next time.

Good location and our room at the top floor of the hotel, had an unrestricted view over St. Ives. Great value for money, (guests have a generous discount on the restaurant menu), and the menu on offer for dinner and breakfast is equally thoughtful and very tasty.

As the time of our visit coincided with a very hot period of weather, a fan in the room would have been a great help

From the moment we pulled up in the car and entered we were made to feel welcome. As I went to park the car in our allocated place my partner was shown to our room. The Harbour View Suite. She was asked if our stay was special. It was we had just got married 2 days earlier and this was a mini break before our honeymoon later in the year. As I got back to reception I was congratulated on our marriage and shown to the room. With in a minute we had our door knocked and presented a complimentary bottle of champagne. This was unexpected but showed the level of customer service the place had. Every single person who worked there was so friendly and professional. A credit to the whole place. Our room was bright, clean and modern with an amazing view of the harbour. The suite had everything we needed and more. The noise level is what to be expected with seagulls in the area but we had no additional noise from anywhere. Really peaceful. We ate on our first night in the restaurant. Again amazing views of the harbour. We had amazing service from the staff on duty. The food was amazing I had the steak and my new wife had the fish taco’s. Both were excellent. Breakfast was equally as good. Wife had the breakfast burrito which we had not seen before. I had it on the 3rd day. It was amazing. Overall the location, amenities, overall atmosphere being so friendly made this an amazing mini break just after our marriage. Both of us said we will be coming back. Thank you to all the staff for an outstanding stay.

A vista é incrível. (escolhi o quarto vendo avaliações anteriores) O café da manhã delicioso. É super bem localizado. cheguei de trem e pude ir a pé para lá. E também fica muito próximo das atrações. ( a cidade é pequena e nada e muito longe) O time muito amável. E também me ajudaram com táxi e guardaram minhas malas pelas horas que precisei após meu check-out. É uma comodidade de ter um restaurante caso prefira comer lá. Acabei jantando apenas duas noites pois queria conhecer os lugares. E hóspedes tinham ainda desconto do restaurante.

O quarto não era muito limpo. ( reparei no segundo ou terceiro dia que tinha um pedaco de algo no chao que ficou lá até o ultimo dia...e fiquei uma semana) O colchão não era muito confortável pois era muito "mole"( mas isso é muito pessoal...)mas os travesseiros eram bons. Os frascos/dispensers onde ficavam os shampoo/sabonete líquido estavam com as tampas (bumps) quebrados.

During our stay in St Ives we have visited the Harbour on many occasions. Mostly for happy hour 😉 & to sit & watch the world go by. Yesterday evening we decided to try some items on the tapas menu r& we weren’t disappointed. We selected 4 & they were all exceptional. My wife particularly Luved the octopus & my favourite was the sardines. Add to that a couple of bottles of fizz & a great evening was had by all. A big thank you to Ant & his team, you made our evening memorable

From the minuite we arrived in newquay i recieved a msg from jayne which made everything so easy whole decor throughout the house was mind blowing done to such i high spec.... brillisnt location overlooking the Beach room was immaculate... 100% will be returning in the coming months

Crazy noise even close the windows. We could sleep, terrible experiments. I paid for a sea view room but come to me was an slim small room only has a small 16 inches side window facing to the edge of the beach. The front window is facing a main road and it is noisy all time.

Wow! We loved everything about our stay. The position was fabulous, the view amazing, we loved the styling and vibe of Harbour View House. The breakfast was the best we have had in the UK. Positives: the views are good & breakfast was also good. Staff quite friendly. But, the negatives outweigh these points. This hotel has a backpacker- type feel and is extremely overpriced. Can’t understand the good reviews. We left feeling extremely overcharged for really substandard accommodation. The room and general areas need maintenance. All finishes are cheap, the mattress needs replacing, pillows like thin bags of fluff. The shower was poor and there are brown stains from the rusty shower shelf down the tiles & in the shower tray. Compounded by the early morning seagull wake up calls was the noise from the downstairs bar & restaurant - there was some kind of event on the 2nd night and the noise from the microphone could be heard above the tv and shower, and carried on until late. Not a relaxing stay at all and really disrespectful for guests. Every time someone uses the bathroom downstairs the door bangs at the top of the staircase. Just left feeling really cheated and disappointed - this place is overpriced & the photos on the website don’t reflect that it Is getting tired. Avoid Room 1 if you must stay.

We had a fabulous stay at Harbour View House. When Anthony greeted us, it felt like we were old friends. He was quick to share many great recommendations that helped make our time in St Ives and elsewhere in Cornwall really wonderful. His kindness along with the rest of staff made this stay so lovely. The ambiance of HVH is lovely and complemented by beautiful views of the harbor and really delicious food - way above average for a B&B breakfast. I’d go back just to have the breakfast again! The location is also ideal, a short walk to the harbour and beaches, but not overly trafficked with tourists.

The room was cute and cozy, but we had to leave the windows open as it was very warm while we were there. Our room was on the street and with the windows open it was really loud at night, seemed to be primarily the seagulls not necessarily pedestrians/ cars. I’d recommend bringing earplugs just in case!

Welcomed by friendly staff they helped with bags and were really helpful and polite. The location was amazing, short walk to the centre with amazing views. Our room was really lovely but I probably shouldn’t have booked the top floor as I struggled with the stairs a little bit.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay, rooms are clean and bright. Breakfast was very good quality and plenty of choice, but the best thing about this hotel is the staff, who were all so helpful..nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay here again if we return to St Ives.

St. Ives hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Unterkunft Harbour View House liegt an einer ausgezeichneten Lage, und das junge Team war stets freundlich, engagiert und hilfsbereit. Verbesserungspotenzial sehen wir beim Service. Teilweise mussten wir recht lange auf das Frühstück und den Kaffee warten. Das Zimmer war zwar geschmackvoll eingerichtet, leider konnten wir jedoch das Fenster nicht öffnen, wodurch die Raumtemperatur zeitweise auf bis zu 28 Grad anstieg. Die Begründung aus Sicherheitsgründen konnten wir nur bedingt nachvollziehen. Ebenfalls enttäuschend war der sehr geringe Wasserdruck in der Dusche, der den Komfort deutlich beeinträchtigte. Wir hoffen, dass sich das junge und motivierte Team in diesen Punkten weiterentwickeln kann. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt dennoch genossen und danken für die Gastfreundschaft. This was our third stay at Harbour View House, and somehow it just gets better with every visit. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with genuine warmth and smiling faces. The team simply cannot do enough for you, and their attention to detail makes every stay feel special. The breakfast alone is worth travelling hundreds of miles for—absolutely delicious and a highlight of every morning. The cocktails are outstanding too; in fact, they were better than any we've enjoyed on a five-star cruise, and we made full use of the wonderful happy hour offerings. The views across St Ives are, in our opinion, simply unbeatable. Sitting with a fabulous coffee, gazing out over the harbour and coastline, creates those perfect holiday moments that stay with you long after you've returned home. What makes Harbour View House truly remarkable is the way it makes you feel. It's more than just a hotel—it's a place to relax, recharge and completely switch off. We loved our stay at Harbour View House. Loved that there is a charming restaurant and coffee shop on site. Stunning view from the restaurant. Great food! Our room was cozy and not a lot of space but beautifully styled and very clean. Wish we could have stayed Ionger.

Andy and I had the most amazing stay at Harbour View House! We’d been recommended it several times so when we booked a last minute trip to St Ives we made sure to fit in a night at HVH (the only availability!) It was SO worth it. It’s hard to describe how wonderful it is - the food (we ordered second-portions of 3 different things on the menu it was that good), the drinks (highly recommend the Bicycle Thief), the seats out the front in the sun which we hardly left, the VIEW of the Harbour from the restaurant and bedroom, the staff (we spent hours chatting with the team - they were all so lovely) and just the general ambience. It was a 10/10 and we honestly can’t wait to go back. Thanks so much for a fab stay Ant, Georgia, Giselle & the rest of the team 💛

The view from the Suite was priceless. So beautiful - I could have spent the whole time just looking out of the window! Staff were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble. Using the short cut (a very steep but short hill) made it quick to get into town. Plenty to do and no car needed - well, until we had to go home.

Handrail on the two sets of uneven steps to the Suite would have been helpful. I had my hands on the wall going down so needed to wash the dirt and dust off my hands first thing on entering the room.

The Harbour View House is a very nice place to stay. And really harbour views from the rooms that we had booked. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great !

The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We loved the location and the dining area where we enjoyed delicious breakfasts. The hotel has a great vibe and a great view of the harbor from the dining room.

The pillows need to be replaced and curtains or shades that do not allow so much light in at 5:00. We understand water pressure in older structures may not be strong, but perhaps it could be checked.
