Bedrooms were a little bijou - alright for a couple of nights but no decent drawers to pack away clothes - the shelf in the bathroom was directly above the sink so made washing / teeth cleaning a bit of an issue

La chambre était magnifique ! C'est l'une des plus belle vue de ma vie. Cela vaut vraiment la peine de séjourner dans cet établissement, c'est juste magique. C'est un lieu hors du temps qui ne ressemble à nulle part ailleurs. La plage juste en bas est superbe. Le restaurant est très bon. Le personnel est agréable. Machine à café en chambre, petit déjeuner exceptionnel. A noter que très proche du train, donc super accessible. J'aurais adoré y rester encore, c'était paradisiaque !

L'isolation phonique des couloirs (beaucoup de craquements) et de l'ouverture/fermeture des portes, impossible de faire doucement. Un peu trop de monde à mon goût mais c'est un lieu hautement touristique et c'est un plaisir de vivre le calme le matin tôt.

From the minute we checked in we fell in love with the place. We stayed a few yrs ago before the renovation & its was perfect then but wow what an amazing hotel it is now. All the staff were truly amazing, there is not one thing I can fault about The Pedn-olva. Can't wait to go back again

The rooms are good but very small

We loved the room especially the balcony with the comfortable chairs. The view was spectacular. The room was very well decorated to a high standard. The bed was comfortable and we liked the size. The nespresso machine was a nice addition. The bathroom was decorated to a high standard also, with lovely tiling and shower. I liked the little light for night time visits. I really wished I could have stayed longer.

A little bit of noise from recycling first thing in the morning. The sink in the bathroom was a little tricky to use as it was under the shelf.

Die Lage ist unglaublich. Die Zimmer sind zwar etwas klein, dafür aber unglaubliche Aussicht. Personal sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Frühstück tip top!

Das Zimmer war mit Meerblick gebucht. Das Zimmer war sehr klein (10m2) was ich vorher wusste. Allerdings schlecht eingerichtet, so dass man seinen Koffer weder verstauen (kein Schrank für Kleider) noch offen liegen lassen konnte. das Fenster konnte nur über eine Oberlichte geöffnet werden. und den Meerblick konnte man untertags nicht genießen, da der Blick auf die Gasthaus-Terrasse ging und die Menschen direkt in das Zimmer blicken konnten. Daher die Gardine immer vor dem Fenster. Außerdem befand sich das Zimmer im Untergeschoß direkt unter dem Restaurant was immer laut war, definitiv ab 23 Uhr als das Team mit der Reinigung der Küche und des Restaurants begann. Das Badezimmer ist für ganz kleine Menschen, erstens sehr eng und zweitens ist das Waschbecken so weit unten und die Ablage direkt darüber, dass man das Becken kaum benutzen konnte. Der Preis ist für das Zimmer zu teuer.

Plateau de courtoisie avec petits gâteaux anglais et une sélection de thes . Parking . Petit déjeuner copieux et excellent. Un service impeccable. Un accueil chaleureux et professionnel. Très bon restaurant

Great location and the work done is really high standard

There was a lack of space to have drinks before and after meal as most of tables are set for meals. Even the conservatory area where previously we have sat in many occasions before over the years Before the new modifications there were more areas where you could have a drink on one of the sofa areas it seems it has changed to focus on mainly food now

A stay in the hotel was a gift for my daughter for her wedding. They couldn’t be happier. Made wonderfully welcome by the staff, to watching the seals from their bed. Location and view was exceptional just what they wanted. Also great breakfast.

Einzig, dass es im Zimmer keinen Schrank oder Kommode gab, war bei einer Aufenthaltsdauer von 5 Nächten ein wenig mühsam.

The best location to see the fantastic views of St Ives. The staff were lovely and the food was outstanding and our room with the fabulous view of Porthminster beach was just what you need when waking up to the sound of waves crashing onto the beach.

To any traveller looking to book this place, it is worth keeping in mind that the view from rooms and proximity to the beach are the only good things about Pedn Olva. I may even argue that other properties would probably be offering similar views. The amount you pay will be only for the views which is splendid but don't expect anything more.

Firstly, the rooms are tiny. We were a couple staying in one of the bigger rooms but the room still felt cramped. The toilet is equally small. The shower is ok though. The staff are rude and very unhelpful. Particularly, Luke, the guy at reception was unprofessional and rude from the moment we checked-in. During our stay, the room was boiling and we asked for a fan, twice, but to no avail. Luke just kept making false promises instead of actually solving the heat problem. If you are looking to make a booking during summer, bear in mind the room temperature can be unbearable. The room was not clean when we checked-in. There was an open pack of crisps in one of the bed side tables which tells you the level of cleanliness and housekeeping standards at Pedn Olva. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, the breakfast and other dining options are extremely limited. Don't fall for the views that this property offers, the overall experience is underwhelming.

Excellent position of the hotel, right on the beach coast; you actually have the sea at the bottom of your room window. Very nice decorated and comfy!

the staff from the restaurant is very chaotic, went for breakfast at 9:00 and the buffet was empty, and being refilled even though the breakfast is until 11:00 and lots of other people couldn't enjoy it! Even during the night, there as always a que to buy drinks, with only 1 bartender serving the customers and other 5-6 just doing unnecessary things, just didn't wanted to help

A very warm and genuine welcome from Luke. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was fantastic and the views from the Pedn Olva are stunning. We come here every year for a meal when on holiday in October but a real treat to stay for a night in the summer.

The light outside our bedroom ( number 7) was very bright throughout the night but this did not make our stay any less pleasurable. Perhaps if we’d been staying in that room for longer, it would have been good to have it turned off late at night.

The decor throughout the hotel was exceptional. The room was beautiful and the sea view stunning. The location could not be bettered.

Die Zimmergröße ist eine Zumutung, man kann geradeso um das Bett laufen. Es ist kein Platz, um den Koffer zu öffnen. Einen Schrank gibt es nicht, um den Koffer auszuräumen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon, der praktisch keiner ist, da er zugänglich ist für Gäste der Nachbarzimmer oder die, die auf die Restaurant-Terrasse wollen. Weshalb wir die Balkontür nachts nicht offen lassen wollten. Dies hatte zur Folge, dass es, trotz Ventilator, sehr warm war. Klimaanlage gibt es nicht. Die Betten sind extrem durchgelegen, die Kissen und auch das Polster am Kopfende riechen muffig. An Schlaf war also kaum zu denken. Das Bad, obwohl auch extrem klein, wäre ok, wenn nicht das Waschbecken die Größe eines Schuhkartons hätte, was das Zähneputzen praktisch unmöglich macht, ohne sich den Kopf zu stoßen, da direkt über dem Waschbecken ein Bord angebracht ist. Es landet alles unweigerlich auf dem Boden. Zum Frühstück gab es warme Gerichte zum Bestellen. Das war auch gut, denn das Buffet war sehr dürftig für so ein Hotel. Es gab wenig Obst, Müsli und etwas Wurst und Käse, aber weder Toast noch Brötchen dazu. Alles in allem hatten wir für den hohen Preis (400€/Nacht) mehr erwartet als nur eine schöne Lage.

It was beautifully decorated, location was good

Standard room was incredibly over priced, the bedroom was tiny, I value a reasonable sized room over a view. The view was great but a comfortable room would have been better. The bathroom was far too small, in order to use the toilet you had the sink right up against you. The shower was so small it was hard to do things like leg shaving. We are skinny luckily, and I have know idea how a larger couple would have coped. I think they would have had to go to a different hotel.

The position of the hotel was excellent. The staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good.

The room was totally inadequate and far from what was advertised. We booked a "Superior Double Room" and it was advertised as having a wardrobe, desk and sitting area. The room was tiny. There were no wardrobes, drawers, seats and no room to put our cases. We had to live out of our suitcases. The bathroom was very small and the tiny sink was unusable as there was a shelf above it which prevented us from using the sink without getting water all over the floor.

Views from the room are exceptional and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble

The full English breakfast was very greasy

Tolle Lage direkt an der Küste in St. Ives. Tolles Restaurant und gutes Frühstück. Perfekte Lage. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können due Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Perfekt für ruhige Tage in Cornwall. Gute Lage auch für Sternfahrten.

Some rooms have tiny bathrooms you need to get used to. You should turn the lights off in the bar and restaurant over night. They bother some of the rooms and it is a waste of electricity and not very eco-friendly.

It was Amazing 👏 I had the best time... Hotel was great.. The receptionist went above and beyond ( she was fantastic 👏 I forgot her name, but her customer service was 10/10.. All staff were good overall.. The view from our room was to die for it was something else. Beach ⛱️ Bar 🍸 👌 Breakfast 10/10 Definitely not my last visit!

I enjoyed everything! Can't complain... The only problem was had was the tight roads near Hotel. No parking outside the hotel. Call Hotel for parking information.

Meet & Greet on arrival with Sophie was a joy, to be met with a lovely smile & enthusiasm, including an early introduction to our room with a view.

The Pedn-Olva has been upgraded to a high standard, so nothing to report, as even the top deck, planting & Mediterranean feel is amazing 🤩

Absolutely incredible view. Our room had a balcony directly over the sea which was so fun to sit and watch the tides come in and out. The bar areas were fabulous too, with plenty of options to sit and watch the coastal scenery. Food was delicious, and breakfast the following morning looking out to sea was perfect! Highly recommend when in St Ives.

I cannot praise this hotel enough, the food was amazing, the staff brilliant especially crystal on breakfast, the room spotless, and the setting and views from the hotel were beautiful, we have already booked to go back next year, thank you!

The Bedroom was well equipped, comfy bed and had a lovely view of the beach. There was a good choice for breakfast and the view while eating was great. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the lay-out was great, really liked the outside area. The Sunday Roast was fantastic ! Staff were welcoming as well

Room was on two levels, for us it was ok but if you had any mobility issues this could cause a problem. This wasn't relayed to us at the time of the booking or after the booking confirmation. The view was fabulous but there was a public walkway past the window that the bed was against (low window), we felt that the curtains needed to be closed all the time and even though it was warm at night we didn't feel happy leaving the window open all night. One criteria when we are searching for a hotel is that there is 'on-site' parking and this hotel showed as having Parking, I checked the questions section and this is what I read:- Hello, the hotel has limited parking available with a permit £10per day. There is also a pay & display car park nearby. What we found was that the parking was a public car park with reserved parking for the hotel at an additional cost (which we knew about), the parking was above the hotel and one of the (quicker) way's down to the hotel was via some steep steps (once again not great if you have mobility issues), the other way was down a long ramp but meant walking to the end of the car park and looping back - not great if the weather is bad. If the above were shown on the booking web sites it would give the Guest a better opportunity to decide whether this hotel was suitable for them. Due to the above I felt the cost was a bit expensive for one night B&B. We used the post code of the hotel: TR26 2EA, this brought you to a very narrow alley (car would of got down - just), we weren't willing to drive down so we rang the 'hotel' but spoke to someone from Customer Reservations but not from the actual hotel, so she was relaying information via a map as she didn't know the area, eventually she told us to head to the Public Car Park, we drove around for 10 mins and found it - more luck than anything else - maybe put the postcode for the car park on your web site to help future guests.

One night stay for our wedding anniversary. Lovely friendly staff and a small but rather beautiful room with a view.

I did have to ask for items at buffet breakfast to be replenished - fruit, yoghurt and bowls. These took a good few minutes to replenished and the team didn't replace any items. A shame it took so long and I had to ask. The cooked breakfast was however wonderful! And the staff are friendly.

Die Lage des Hotels ist einzigartig vor Ort. Allerdings entsprechen die Bilder nicht der Wirklichkeit und lassen "mehr" erwarten. Das Frühstück war sehr gut mit "Wahlessen" und Bedienung am Platz.

Das Zimmer kann man wirklich nur kurz bewohnen. Wir sind schank und mussten uns zwischen Bett und Wand durchschlängeln. Es ist wirklich kein Platz zum Abstellen von Koffern und es gibt auch keinen Schrank. Die vielen Kissen auf dem Bett konnten wir kaum unterbringen. Am Schlimmsten fanden wir das Bad, ganz klein, mit einem Waschbecken - man konnte sich kaum die Hände darin waschen. Es war das kleinste Waschbecken, was wir jehmals gesehen haben. Dort könnte man locker ein normales Waschbecken anbringen. Der Preis für solch Wohnen ist definitiv viel zu hoch aber weil nicht so viel Möglichkeiten bestehen, kann das Hotel diese Preise aufrufen.

The rooms were lovely, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant was great. Pre-arranged parking which helped avoid a lot of hassle during a busy weekend.

The bathroom had everything you needed but it is just a bit too small.

Excellent location, beautifully refurbished and good food in the restaurant. The rooftop bar offered excellent views of the bay and St Ives waterfront.

We had to move rooms at the request of the hotel.

The hotel is situated in a unique position next to the sea at the end of St. Ives bay. The hotel where very friendly and helpful. The roof bar has fantastic views as the the restaurant.

Due to the hotels position, if you drive up to the hotel, you'll need to drive down a narrow lane to access the hotel parking on the hill opposite the hotel. By driving to the carpark first and walking down the steps to the hotel to access the reserved parking permit, is a good option.

If you are going to St Ives I couldn’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else! It has everything you need in a great location. We stayed in the room with a balcony sea view and had to pull ourselves away to explore. Had a lovely dinner and breakfast here too. If you’re thinking about it… do it - you won’t regret :)

Location- 5 mins into st ives and right on the beach, views from the room, complimentary beers, tea and coffee in the room, breakfast was also lovely.

It was all great- if I was going to be picky it is pricey, and our room was slightly small and oddly shaped so you couldn’t walk around the bed- had to climb over to get to the other side.

Het personnel was zeer vriendelijk. Ze doen alle moeite om te zorgen dat de gasten het naar hun zin hebben. De kamer met zeezicht was top. Het gaf een echt vakantiegevoel. Het restaurant is goed met een prachtig zicht. Parkeergelenheid is op wandelafstand van het hotel.

Incredible family room with balcony and view of the harbour and town. Very comfortable, well stocked snacks and fridge, amazing shower. Really close to the centre of St Ives and the train station.

TV in the room has got to be at least 15 years old with no SMART features, disappointing but not a deal breaker

Too many dogs which aren't particularly well controlled. At one point as many dogs as people. Didn't like the fact owners allowed their animals up on the furniture and unfortunately the Staff didn't rectify this. On the last night of our stay the people staying in the room above us were inconsiderate from 6am in the morning.

Beautifully renovated. We booked the standard double so weren’t expecting much but our windows from the bedroom and bathroom were right on the rocks to the sea. One of the nice hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The included breakfast was delicious and with the most incredible view to the sea. Could have sat there forever.

Room 23 was a little bit noisy due to restaurant above. Foot steps, chairs being moved etc. Plus the room is opposite the cleaners store room and so lots of talking in the corridor outside our room early in morning.

Das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Sicht aus dem Restaurant ist ein absoluter Traum. Das Frühstück war hervorragend, man hat eine Wahl aus verschiedenen warmen Speisen, Müsli und Obst. Abends kann man noch schön an der Bar einen Absacker trinken. Im Zimmer hatten wir alles was wir brauchten, Teestation, Kaffeemaschine und eine angenehme Dusche mit heißem Wasser. Parkplätze findet man eine Treppe hoch am Bahnhof in Laufnähe. Strandhafen Restaurants und Shops auch alle in unmittelbarer Laufnähe

Wenn ich überhaupt irgendetwas bemängeln müsste, dann die Größe des Zimmers, das ist dann doch mit zwei Personen sehr eng aber aufgrund des positiven Restes, kaum erwähnenswert. Man schläft ja sowieso nur dort

Very disappointed with the room, small, dark, very little storage. Also due to design fault, the placement of a shelf placed over a tiny sink made the sink unusable. We have stayed here numerous times before and been more than happy with our room, I would advise to only book a room on the ground and upper floor. For the price you pay , it really isn’t worth it otherwise.
