The staff were great and friendly. Loved the resident cat, she was very sweet. Staff were always helpful with queries and rectifying any issues we might have had. Our tour guide Dewa was great and always happy to point us in the less crowded/cheaper direction. Overall great experience.

The hotel staff and service were very good, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and pest control were a major issue. There were lizards inside the room, including on the ceiling. One of them even defecated on my head while I was sleeping, which was a very unpleasant experience. There were also larger lizards in the bathroom. I hope the hotel improves its pest control because the service itself was excellent.

Very comfortable bed and amazing pillows, everything was clean, the shower especially was one of the best I ever had. I was staying in their newest villa though. The staff were very nice, Yuli in particular was incredible, I have never felt a calmer presence than the one she has!

Don’t expect a tropical view, it was a bit more expensive than I would normally pay for a place with no view. The garden was very basic. I think more tropical plants would make all the difference.

Don’t trust the photos. The territory of this hotel is much, much greener, more beautiful, and more blooming than you can see in any pictures. Everything here feels even better in real life. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and enjoyable — I was honestly excited every single day just to be here. The staff are amazing: super friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything. The room is clean and well-maintained, housekeeping does a great job every day. The pool is clean and refreshing, perfect for relaxing. The food is delicious, with plenty of options, and the drinks are just as good. Overall, everything was great — truly a wonderful experience. I would definitely come back!

The property was amazing, great facilities, easy communication with staff (great English), the spa was exceptional, the cook was very kind - food was always prepared within minutes of the request and brought into the room - their food was absolutely amazing (especially the spring rolls), staff were very attentive - always asking if I needed anything, if I was to need anything they brought it to me within minutes of the request, the room was in great condition - had everything that I needed for a great stay.

Wasn’t prepared for the shower to have no roof above - left a lot of bugs to enter the room. Was unable to use the TV due to settings - was in Balinese language and unable to access streaming platforms.

Un personnel aux petits soins, attentif à notre bien-être et rempli de bienveillance. Leur véritable point fort est, à mon avis, la qualité exceptionnelle de l’équipe ainsi que le cadre magnifique. Le petit-déjeuner était tout simplement délicieux.

Je pense qu’il faudrait simplement effectuer quelques petits travaux ; quand on est maniaque comme moi, on remarque immédiatement les détails.

The different type of villa rooms was a great thing. The staff was Amazingly nice and accommodating!! You must leave your western mindset and bring you tropical villa mindset! It was great!!

I did not like not being able to see the signage of the facility at night. It’s too nice of a gem to not be found.

My subjective recommendation is to improve little roads between the villas. It’s all made of stones and I felt unsafe and unstable, especially if it was a rain.

Canvas Escape is like a home away from home. All the staffs there are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The requests were all fulfilled without any problem. The room is superb and the bed is comfortable. If you need any transport and tours, it could be arranged as well.

The location is not in Ubud Central but that's the idea of the resort I believe - away from the hustle city life. And that also means that you're closer to the nature, especially at night. Surprisingly that they could provide ear plugs too if needed! It's really thoughtful from them. Breakfast is decent like homecook meal.

Beautifull garden, waking up in the morning with the sound of birds singing. Property is situated on a very busy street but once you are inside the property it is no issue. Make use of a pre-arranged transport form the Airport to the Hotel is strongly advised, once you their making use of motorcycle rent or grab service is the easiest way to get around. Good breakfast American breakfast, good start to busy days.

The bar fridge inside the room is cool but not cold, that if you like to have a cold one coming back from a day outside. Air conditioner is cool but during the hotter nights it is not so effective. Make sure you have some mosquito repellent.

I love the place because of its tranquility and its nature vibe. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, that they always ask us about our stay. The breakfast was excellent too. Our stay was a quality and relaxing experience.

The room was very clean, and all the staff were amazing—especially Bu Yuli, thank you so much! The breakfast was pretty good. We were traveling with a baby, and their service was so thoughtful—helping clean the baby’s utensils and even warming up the food we brought, although I asked for it at 10 pm. 🥰🙏🏻

Fantastic place to rest in south Ubud. The team is great and very helpful, thank you 🙏 With a scooter, central Ubud is only 20 min away. The villa and the garden are very clean and confortable, we spent 5 very. Ice days here!!

Upon arrival the waterglass n mirror had watermarks Bed sheet are stained even though they are washed clearly u can find some old mark on them. The property need some renovation as lizard n rat have easy access to the room as i have to change my room twice which really affect my stay to keep moving my stuff . The location is bit far from shops n center

Das einzig positive was man leider sagen kann ist, dass das Personal freundlich war.

Die Zimmer sehen nicht so aus wie auf den Bildern. Es ist dreckig, vor allem das Badezimmer und es ist in der Nacht Wahnsinnig laut (Hunde bellen, Hähne, andere Geräusche). Es ist sehr hellhörig. Man hört alles. Das Frühstück ist auch nichts besonderes. Tagsüber wenn man im Hotel bleibt, wird man ohne Vorwarnung mit Insektizide eingenebelt und alles zieht in die Villa, da das Holz Schlitze hat. Wir mussten den Aufenthalt nach dem zweiten Tag abbrechen. Es ist es sein Geld nicht Wert. Zu Fuß kommt man nirgends hin. In der Umgebung gibt es nichts.

As opposed to other hotels we’ve been, the pictures here elevate the reality for more than what it is - to the point where we booked 2 nights and left the place after 30 minutes, losing our deposit. We weren’t confortable as we expected to be (the room is way smaller than the photos and the bathroom had some smell because of the pipes), and while we could’ve stayed because the staff was really nice, the receptionist was quite condescending and rigid. It was not the vibe for us on vacation and we felt more at peace leaving. It was our only negative experience in Indonesia.

If you want to have nice holiday, DO NOT BOOK this hotel! We had to spend 8 days at this property, cause the hotel is not a proper word for it. The rooms are not like on the pictures, there are ants everywhere, lizards, and every other insect you can imagine you can find it in your room. We checked in late in the evening cause it was around 21-22:00, we got our keys and what was waiting for us in our room was an ant farm, we asked in the reception to change our room but apparently it was fully booked so they sprayed the ants with some repellent and left all these dead ants on the floor :) the room was not cleaned and not prepared for someone to stay in there. In the morning we got the breakfast to our room and we had some ants swimming in our lemon ginger tea, so we didn’t touch it. Later the villa manager came to us to check the room, and said that the ants are coming from another hotel so they don’t know if they can do anything about that, and that too bad if we don’t have a photo of ants in our breakfast with the smile on her face. Very rude lady with no respect to the guests. They changed our room after 2 days but we had to resign from breakfast cause apparently they gave us the ,,upgrade”, well not really. We still had lizards, ants and some animal that was leaving big poops everywhere but we didn’t caught it. We decided to complain to booking about all this cause the staff was not taking us seriously. We asked for cancellation the rest of the stay cause that was far from the holidays we imagined. Booking said that hotel denied our request and there’s nothing they can do. So to sum up, they don’t clean, hotel is a old dump which they’re fully aware of and even when u want to just leave and get at least some money back it’s not possible. The worst was manager of the villas just casually asking all the time if we’re finally happy with your stay.

It is very noisy, not peaceful at all and not the 'escape' I was after. There is NO soundproofing at all and had a terrible sleep the first night there, so much so that I booked another resort for the rest of my stay in Bali. You can hear: the traffic, neighbours in the villas next to you, the roosters that are never quiet. A staff member suggested I wear ear plugs. Why should I have to when I have come to Bali to relax and escape? I shouldn't have to, nor do I like wearing ear plugs.

Nice if you want a quiet stay.

Vi hade en underbar vistelse på Canvas Escape Resort, en plats som verkligen lever upp till sitt namn. Hotellet är en oas av lugn, med en vacker trädgård, en härlig pool och rymliga rum som ger en känsla av avkoppling och harmoni. Jag och min vän spenderade den speciella högtiden Nyepi här, och det kunde inte ha varit en bättre plats för stillhet och reflektion. Personalen var otroligt hjälpsam och såg alltid till att vi hade det vi behövde – från att hjälpa mig med att göra cacao till att ge mig nål och tråd för att laga min väska. Maten var fantastisk, och vi uppskattade särskilt de bekväma sängarna och de mjuka kuddarna som gav oss en riktigt god natts sömn. Vi kände oss väl omhändertagna från början till slut, och vi lämnar med tacksamhet och fina minnen. Rekommenderar varmt denna pärla till alla som söker ro och omtanke på Bali

the entrance was awful, and its also not a 4 * hotel and i was wondering how it is called 4*. breakfast was not buffet and i had to pay for it and breakfast was awful too. I would recommend not to buy breakfast from them, rather buy something from supermarket.

Absolutely beautiful, complete zen from check in to check out. Staff was so friendly and helpful, anything you needed they were there to help make sure your stay was perfect. The moment you show up you’re greeted by their friendly staff, they carried our luggage to the room and ensured we had everything needed for a comfortable relaxing stay. The rooms are a good size, very clean, and well maintained. Our room had a private patio and staff delivered breakfast of our choosing straight to the room. Book a massage, you won’t regret it! We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was exactly the relaxing getaway we needed. Looking forward to coming back.

I absolutely loved the layout of the villa 7, with the lounge/dinning area seperate to the bedroom, a smart TV and fantastic Internet so we really enjoyed the days we had to stay inside due to the rain. The niceness of the staff always willing to help and even clean our room when we went out for dinner I loved that they always delivered breakfast to our Villa and there is power points in all rooms,

Unfortunately it is the season for mosquitos and even though Canvas Escape Resort used Fogging to kill them they still managed to bite me everytime I stepped outside without wearing repellant. We were close to the road so you hear the noisy scooters but that reduces towards the end of the night.

The villa and garden made my stay. But on top of that the staff is absolutely amazing.
