Dali Old Courtyard Boutique Inn

So very cozy place in a lateral street of the old town. The room was huge with whatever kind of commodity included. Great view on the patio and super kind staff, always happy to help.

Compared to other places of my trip, it was probably a bit pricy...but still, a very good choice.

beautiful property situated in a tucked away alley, so it was quiet & peaceful, but still walkable to and from the old town. there was an issue with the shower in our room, and we were immediately upgraded to a bigger room! we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. clean and spacious, bathroom was really nice as well. highly recommend this place.

Dali is a charming place where time seems to stand still, yet it offers travelers every modern comfort and convenience. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly warm and attentive—they even helped us load our luggage into the car. It was a truly delightful stay! The air cooler (not an air-cond) is doing it's job and won us over gradually.

WiFi connection is unstable, but could be due to the software that we're using aren't acceptable by the local authority.

The hotel staff went the extra mile to prepare for us two sets of heart-warming breakfast on the day we departed very early for Lijiang. Woke up very early to drive us out to the main road to take our transport to the train station.

Es una antigua casa china maravillosa! Con un patio encantador. Hablan inglés perfectamente, buen desayuno, y muy céntrico. Es un hotel con sumo encanto. Me hicieron la cena porque no pude cenar el día de mi llegada y fueron sumamente amables. Cama súper cómoda con dosel y mosquitero, lo cual, te ubica en otra época.

Beautiful quiet retreat from the busy town centre. The staff were wonderful. Helpful polite and made our stay a very enjoyable experience.

The location is perfectly situated near busy Ancient Dali market streets, yet somehow very serene and quiet. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.

Alloggio in posizione centrale all'interno della città antica, camera e bagno spaziosi. I servizi proposti corrispondevano a quanto trovato, proprietaria molto gentile e disponibile.

L'unico suggerimento che possiamo dare è l'aggiunta di aria condizionata dal momento che l'ambiente è molto umido. Non possiamo però lamentarci dato che la mancanza di condizionatore era specificata chiaramente già in fase di prenotazione.

El alojamiento es precioso. Es una casa tradicional que está muy bien conservada y cuidada. El personal muy amable y la ubicación me parece perfecta.

Emplacement idéal, en plein centre de Dali, au cœur de l'animation de la ville. Le lieu est vraiment charmant, on avait l'impression de dormir dans une habitation traditionnelle authentique. Malgré la proximité immédiate avec l'agitation de la ville, les chambres sont étonnamment calmes et on y dort très bien, sans le brouhaha de la rue.

Attention, il ne s'agit pas d'un hôtel mais plutôt d'une maison d'hôtes avec très peu de chambres, tenue par une famille. Le petit-déjeuner est vraiment basique : ce n'est pas mauvais, mais le choix est limité au strict minimum. Niveau isolation phonique et hygiène, on est clairement dans l'esprit maison d'hôtes et non hôtel : entre le rez-de-chaussée et l'étage, on entend absolument tout (mieux vaut éviter les chambres au rez-de-chaussée). Globalement, très bon rapport qualité-prix, mais il faut avoir ces points en tête et ne pas s'attendre à une prestation 5 étoiles comme l'annonce pourrait le laisser penser.

Wir mussten leider unser Zimmer wechseln, da das ursprüngliche Zimmer extrem laut war. Die Decke war sehr schlecht gedämmt und man hat jeden Schritt und die Toilettenspülung aus dem Zimmer oben sehr stark gehört. Ich übertreibe nicht, das Zimmer war extrem hellhörig, obwohl in der Beschreibung stand, dass es gedämmt ist. Daraufhin haben wir ein Ersatzzimmer bekommen was ok war. Die Nacht darauf mussten wir erneut umziehen. Das Zimmer unter dem Dach war klein und als es regnete, ist an einer Stelle Wasser eingedrungen.

The hotel is in a beautiful and tranquil traditional courtyard setting. A pleasure to be there. We very much appreciated the peaceful surroundings, and the helpful and attentive staff. The breakfasts were wonderful, again in a peaceful setting.

The sound of footsteps in the room above was a bit disturbing on occasion - but overall didn’t detract

Great location, amazing place! The hotel building feels very authentic!

Everything. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. From the minute you walk in you are captivated by the courtyard, the pond and the old world style. The staff were friendly and English speaking. The breakfast was fabulous as well as the comfort and style of the restaurant. The bed and bathroom were clean comfortable and worked well.

The air-conditioning was not sufficient to keep the room cool so it was quite hot most day/night.

Iets te warm als je het niet gewend bent op de hele warme dagen (2e nacht raakten we zelf al meer gewend). Geen airco, wel een goede ventilator.

Unique experience staying in the old town . This charming courtyard accommodation is full of character, staff very helpful, every detail is thoughtfully presented. The rooms are very comfortable and good size . Location perfect to explore the ancient city . We truly love our stay .

Goede locatie in het hartje van Dali Old Town. Authentiek verblijf en gevarieerd ontbijt met voldoende keuze! De aanwezigheid van de katjes maakt het extra gezellig.

TV signel was poor and unable to watch anything. Water in shower was temperamental between hot and cold. Loud school nearby, you will hear the school bell between classes.

De taxichauffeur kon de goede afzetplek niet vinden. Dat koste veel tijd. Dat ligt niet aan het hotel. Want deze ligt in een autovrij deel van de stad. Maar het zou helpen als ze de juiste afzetlocatie op de Booking site op de kaart aangeven.

Ein Hotel mit Geschichte und Tradition. Fuer Gaeste, die Luxus suchen vielleicht nicht optimmal, aber wer das alte Dali erleben will ist hier richtig.

Die Matratze ist nicht optimal und das Fruehstueck koennte auf westliche Gaeste angepasst werden.

A lovely old courtyard house right in the old town. Very comfortable bed, quiet and only 2 minutes from the main street. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff.

Comfy bed. Toiletries aromatic. Plenty of plugs near the bed. Great Western and Eastern breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff giving maps and answering all our questions. Early check in and late check in seemed very easy and free. Also luggage storage. Great location. Quiet location. Reception spoke good English.

Nice ancient looking building, convenient to shop around the town.

The water temperature suddenly hot suddenly cold. Cannot compare to hotel service but it’s pretty good for a 100 years old building.

Old-school charm, rooms were quaint but well-heated (very important during winter). Cats on property were adorable.

It was a lovely old building in a great setting with very helpful staff and a generous breakfast each morning. We had a room that was an entire wing of one of the upper floors with windows that looked into the court chart which was magical.

Incredible incredible place - we felt like we had stepped back in time! The place is so beautiful that there were quite a few photoshoots happening at the entrance. The hotel is also located in a quiet alley with lots of interesting looking restaurants and shops. I was pleased to see a very modern bathroom despite the well-preserved original exterior. Breakfast was absolutely delicious (with local and continental options available) and it was served in a beautiful glasshouse. The staff were so kind and friendly, they fetched us (and our bags) from the main road as cars can’t enter the alleys, and they also arranged for scooter rental when we wanted to go to Erhai Lake. For those who can’t speak Mandarin, the receptionist speaks perfect English.

Small nits which ultimately can’t be helped (but good to know!) (1) the rooms (excluding the bathrooms) still maintain the original facade so the lighting is pretty dim and there is no airconditioning (though a fan is provided). (2) Can be a bit noisy since windows can’t be closed fully (as they are in the old style) and the room faces the courtyard which naturally amplifies any noise. (3) A mosquito coil was lit in the room and the smell was quite overwhelming.

The hotel is located in an old traditional Chinese house, the atmosphere is very calm and peaceful. It’s located in a quiet little alley away from the chaos of the main road. The staff is very sweet and polite, they helped us with our luggages and to arrange us transportation. I highly recommend it for a true local experience.

Location - convenient to explore the old town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Unique - staying in the historical home. Cosy - lovely and warm home stay. Full amenities, and great service by the team.

Luggage - no car zone, have to pre-arrange luggage pick up, self-help with loading luggage if the female staff is doing the pick-up. Access - rooms on second floor will require climbing up and down narrow stairs. Sounds - room on first floor will hear walking creaking sound from second floor.
