Athenree Hot Springs & Holiday Park

The location was fantastic and the park catered for all our needs and more! Our room was clean, beds were comfy, everything we needed was available. The staff were so friendly, helpful and amazing. Will definitely be staying again

Cabin was very clean and well presented, good cooking facilities and the paddling pool area of pool was perfect for our son.

Only one shower per toilet block and pillows could of been better or had an extra one.

My daughter and I have been to this campground before. My biggest highlights about this place are the lovely pool/ spa facilities (the fact they are refilled every day is one reason I choose this over other places), and the other reason being that the cleanliness of all other facilities have been the best I’ve seen at any campground. We loved our room, and all the staff around the grounds were friendly.

If anything, there was only one oven which was in use for quite some time when needed to cook food, however there are many other cooking facilities so will just keep in mind for next time. Couldn’t really fault the stay.

This is one of the cleanest and well run camps that I always look forward to visiting again. The hot pools are fabulous for resting in and the showers are always hot. Can't wait to come back

Originally, my best friend and I were coming to stay for a night for her birthday, but unfortunately she took ill, and my partner and I came down instead. The service was friendly on check in. Our cabin was a fairly new cabin built recently. Very warm, it had the main utility inside, even tho you have the access to the communal kitchen to cook. The pools are lovely, the smaller hot pool was Devine as it was a cold Beautiful day, perfect weather for it. Not too busy which we liked. Comfortable bed, quiet area, beautiful sunset across the road by the street or beach. We would definitely be back for another stay. Thanks you staff at Athenree.

We had such a wonderful stay at Athenree Holiday Park, from the moment we arrived, the whole place felt welcoming, peaceful, and beautifully cared for. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful, creating the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes a holiday feel effortless. The mineral hot pools were an absolute highlight — warm, soothing, and perfect at the beginning and end of the day. We loved how clean everything was, from the amenities to the communal areas. It’s clear the team takes real pride in the park.

What really makes it stand out, though, is the way everything is cared for — attention to detail, pride in the place, and a genuine respect for guests and their experience. It’s become more than just a getaway over the years — it’s a place I look forward to coming back to, where everything just works and the experience always delivers.

Excellent facilities warm welcoming staff. Place very clean and just a few things like collecting food scraps and a bowl of mandarins added to the charm. Hot pools amazing. Very quiet location . Will be back

Love the hot spring.

The Hot Springs were a welcome treat on a rainy day. Nice big pool with sail covering a small part , plus a covered hotter pool. Changing rooms with shower. Have visited before and will be back again.

We only stayed for one night but we would love to go back the atmosphere was relaxing. The pools were hot and the kids loved it. They also loved the trampoline. The cooking facilities were great and also everything was clean. For a great value. We would love to go back with the family for a longer time. The staff were all super helpful and friendly too. There is nothing we could fault.

We came because of the hot mineral spring pools, and becasue it was somewhere new for us to come in our Motor Home. We enjoyed twice daily soaks in the adults pool and it was especially beneficial after a 20 km cycle ride. Our site was a ood size to take our motor home with room for an outdoor table. Close enough to Waihi Beach township to go for shopping too. We travelled with 2 other couples

We stayed in one of the motel units. We had a late check in and our room had the heat pump already on so arrived to a nice warm unit. Staff were great throughout our stay, loved the hot swim both mornings - towels provided for our swim. The motel unit was comfortable and fully stocked with the standard kitchen appliances and crockery. Good sized fridge. Fantastic sunrise in the morning. Will definitely stay again

We are regulars at this immaculate camp, its a favourite of ours. Not only are the staff amazing but all their ablutions and facilities are spotlessly clean. Their mineral pools are Devine and are emptied daily at 7.30pm and cleaned and refilled ready for the next day. Rachael in reception is so friendly and always finds the perfect site for us to fit our rather long caravan. If we could give them more than five stars, we would. 😍

Great location with easy access to Waihi Beach. Lovely clean cabin, perfect size for one person and close to kitchen and shower block. Facilities were spotless. Hot pool was great for a long soak and not too crowded being the ‘off’ season. Would come back again.

Its one of my favourite places to go to. Staff are always friendly, it is always very clean. Every visitor respects the environment due to the great systems they have in place. The hot pools are a lovely addition and draw card.

My little dog Molly and I had a wonderful stay at this camp. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The facilities were clean and well kept as usual. The cabin was perfectly set up with our own utensils etc and a decent sized fridge. We keep coming back to this lovely camp because it is beautifully situated and so much value for what it costs.

Great service, friendly locals servicing park facilities. Camp owners offered valuable insights of local attractions and things to do. Geothermal pools cleaned daily were sparkling! Loved that the owner opens the coffee trailer, yay! So relaxing and convenient to Waihi Beach, Bowentown and Katikati. Gorgeous little hideaway! We'll be back 😎

It was amazing Very Clean, comfortable, the Pools are a Bonus emptied cleaned and filled daily. The staff are extremely helpful, would recommend it as very friendly they have lots of extras BBQ'S, Pizza oven etc for the campers to use.

The door n window knocks all through out the night and I had a little one. It was packed n load of teenagers were playing spot light but kept door knocking n running away which lead to my 3 year old son keep waking up

We loved our short stay at Anthenre, such a lovely spot to "get away from it all". All facilities are sparkling clean, staff are helpful & friendly. Loved soaking in the hot pool. We were in our Motorhome and found this campground very reasonably priced for a powered site. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay, even though only short, was all amazing and we will return! Everywhere was really clean, pools were awesome, emptied & cleaned everyday, refilled in the morning. All the facilities were great, as I mentioned it was so clean and the staff were all very polite and super helpful. Great amenities with a small store with all the little bits you may have forgotten or needed at the last minute, great location with a super cool vibe ..

nothing to be honest, location was great, weather was a little bad but we all coped in the storm and lovely sun in the morning (you can predict the weather!)

This is the most cleanest camping ground we have ever been to!. The communal areas were always clean and tidy!. Small pools that at times were crowded by day visitors. But we had a fab time and will def be back

This was a great base for exploring the surrounding beaches. Great accommodation, friendly and helpful staff - the hot spring pools were brilliant. And, it worked well for out dog too. Highly recommended.

Although it was a very wet day we could enjoy the hot pool and accom was very good, as it was higher than any wet areas around the building. Will do again as beautiful spot handy to the inlet and walks which we look forward to use.

This camping ground is so beautifully maintained and scrupulously clean. Cleanest we've ever stayed in. Facilities are well equipped, staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hot pools are lovely and a great place to wind down. Highly recommended.

Chilled atmodphete clean facilities friendly helpful staff 👌 The use of kayaks is a coin donation, plus you have access to the streaming networks on the TV. The use of the mineral pools and hot tub was nice 👌

We had a lovely cabin at the front of the park. Over looking the park and water. We were right next door to the thermal pool. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Absolutely everything. Belinda and her staff are all so very friendly. We had a rough time before arriving at Athenree and Belinda put right to everything. Firstly a beautiful kapiti ice cream. Our cabin was perfect, and made us decide no more booking.com B&B. The holiday park is set in a beautiful location. Belinda gave us some great tips on areas to explore. The onsite coffee was divine and very affordable. A very good stay and would definitely go back🙂

All at Athenree Hot Springs Holiday Park was tip top. Accommodation; (Two nights, two bedroom unit) was well equipped, extra towels available, staff popping in to ask if we needed anything, internet fast etc. The pool was meticulously clean and the surrounding artwork added to the specialness of our visit (sister's birthday). Being across the road from the beach was an added bonus. The friendliness of the staff and visitors was noted also.

Athenree Hot Springs absolutely awesome very clean, staff welcoming and warm front office had your basics to see you through until you got to the shops, Waihi is about 5ks not far for all your shopping needs,Our cabin was all we needed comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities views all around and the camp kitchen well stocked with your usuals and clean 10/10 -Laundry well maintained,the hot spring was very relaxing after each day -considering we were there for family funeral our stay made it so much easier on us after each day Thank you to all the staff we will return on a more happier occasion ♥️

Amenities very clean, friendly staff and park kept very tidy

Our motel room was exceptionally clean and tidy with everything you could possibly need in there. The pools were a hit, the games room and being able to use the kayaks was a very pleasant surprise. I would stay here again for sure.

We loved the resort, wonderful welcome from the staff who had anticipated our late arrival: fab to swim in the thermal pool, and a comfortable cabin. In a beautiful spot.

Location is a bit out of the way - you need to drive to get to anywhere outside the resort.

We had 2 motel units for a family of 7 and it worked really well The facilities were great in particular the pool and kayaks. Close to Bowentown and Waihi Beach Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Sehr schöne, große Cabin, viel Platz, ruhige Lage. Die Thermalpools waren einfach super. Das Personal war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Gute Ausstattung, auch in der Küche. Alles war sehr sauber. Die Gegend ist schön und der Strand nicht weit, auch schöne Wanderungen in der Nähe möglich.

Athenree Holiday Park is our number one go-to break-away place. It is always clean and staff are always very helpful and polite.

We turned up hoping there would be space, the man on reception was really welcoming and told us the hot spring pools were free for guests to use. We had a lovely spot, with plenty of space around us. The hot pools were a real bonus. The facilities were a little dated but spotless. We only stayed one night but could have happily stayed longer, the place had a really nice atmosphere.

We stayed for 2 nights using a power site. The land was flat and firm, and plenty big enough for our campa van. The campsite had plenty of space and the facilities were always clean and tidy. For those who need wifi, we had a good strong signal and 1gb free data. Being out of the main season it wasn't very busy while we were there and therefore it was quite peaceful. The mineral hot pools were a real bonus. There are 2 pools, one at 33c and the hot pool about 38c. Both pools were very clean and perfect for a soak after a day out exploring. Campers at Athenree are able to use the pools for free.

I would highly recommend Athenree Hot Springs and Holiday Park. Clean tidy amenities, friendly staff and the Hot Pools a treat. Would stay again.

What a super campsite…from the initial phone call, to the reception, to the time spent there. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome…and they remembered our names. It’s so clean…and not just cleaned at one specific time, surfaces are wiped would throughout the day. The pool is a bonus too, although Anzac Bay, just round the corner, gives double the delight! Waihi Beach is close by too, so there is a choice of waves or flat calm! I’ll be back! Thank you for providing me with such a pleasant stay!

I needed to destress, reset and refresh and thought a mini beach break would fit the bill. I couldn't have chosen better! The place is relaxing, clean, friendly and has much to offer. The beaches are so close, and so are many beautiful bush walks and lovely swimming along the coast. The hot springs round off the day perfectly. It was perfect! Next time I'm going to take the kayak out.

A Nice campsite with lots to do for kids. A short hop to nearby Waihi Beach. Would recommend this campground to everyone.

We just love it there , we can take our dog. The toilets, showers and kitchen are always clean and tidy. We are caravanners and just love the facilities ,atmosphere, everyone is friendly and staff is awesome . thank you so much for a great place to visit

I chose to camp here for the hot mineral pools and they were the highlight, beautifully laid out although they close early evening so no soaking under the stars. Many permanent campers living here and casual campers are not so well catered for - only a small kitchen with sinks, kettle, toaster but no hotplates for cooking. There's no swimming beach nearby, best beaches are several km away.

The staff were friendly and this is a great park to stay with family.

The whole experience. Grant who checked us in was super friendly, advised us of the thermal pool hours, local club courtesy bus for dinner, the facilities were excellent, everything clean definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stay away.

We can’t recommend this campground enough — it’s the perfect spot to relax and make memories with family. Immaculately clean, wonderfully friendly, and an absolute gem!

This is a great location with the harbour edge to walk around. The camp was exceptionally clean and tidy. We will definitely be coming back this Summer.

Absolutely loved Athenree! While it’s away from the main beach & a busy town it has everything you need. The kids loved it! The hot pools are fantastic! Would recommend it to anyone! Will defo be going back!
