Great location, nice pool area.
Strange smell in the room, below average food, waiters in the restaurant kept ignoring customers. Overall ok stay but would not come back.
Location and pool area
Alles is top!
Excellent views, exceptionally clean, staff lovely, food brilliant & room perfect. Great breakfast options
That we could t stay longer because it was fully booked!
The view from the pool was amazing
The bed was very uncomfortable and the WiFi wasn't good
Location, waterfront tables, view from room and balcony
The pervasive smell of mildew and dirty worn carpets.
Service and location
I loved The view, the bed and sheets, the spa and gym, the location was fabulous, the staff was lovely, the restaurant was so delicious, the pool view and garden- perfecto!, everything was 10/10!! Wish I could have stayed longer!
Nothing.
We didn’t have breakfast included in our stay, but actually preferred ordering from the à la carte breakfast menu, which we really enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the beach and the beautiful bay. The location of Hotel Espléndido is fantastic. Everything in Port de Sóller is within easy walking distance, and it is also very convenient for catching the Sóller tram. We particularly loved being able to walk straight across the road from the hotel for a swim in the sea. The hotel has several pool areas, although we didn’t use them during our stay as they are located behind the hotel and are set over different levels and terraces. We much preferred swimming in the sea, although it is worth noting that the hotel doesn’t have its own sunbeds or umbrellas on the beach. Our room was very comfortable, and the room service menu was also good. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely helpful and welcoming. We also used the spa and had some wonderful massages — the therapists were excellent and this was definitely a highlight of our stay. We would happily stay at Hotel Espléndido again. For us, it felt like one of the best hotel options in Port de Sóller, particularly because of its wonderful location right on the waterfront.
The main thing that could be improved would be having some hotel sunbeds and umbrellas available on the beach, as the location is perfect for swimming and we would have loved the option to spend more time there comfortably. Parking was also more difficult than we had expected. The hotel does not have its own parking, and we used a nearby paid public parking area. Over a six-night stay, having to regularly return to top up the parking became quite inconvenient, particularly as the online payment option was not working for us. A simpler parking arrangement or clearer long-stay parking option would definitely improve the experience.

This is such a great hotel, better than its 4 stars. The best location with amazing views, staff are lovely and food is great. Highly recommended.
Poor WiFi
À la carte breakfast - absolutely brilliant, beautiful views of the tram & beach. Food brilliant. Staff amazing and just so attentive. Buffet - the same food served as in the à la carte with the nice comforts of buffet fruits, salads etc - beautiful location, outside terrace stunning and both the same which is very uncommon as usually the à la carte is better - but here - they are the same quality - OUTSTANDING. Rooms - perfect - views - unforgettable. Hotel itself - just absolutely top level. The staff, all Very attentive and just so professional. And happy!!! Receptionists- know everything about everything and help with.. everything!!! From Booking taxis to restaurants to calas. Food - restaurant - do not forget to visit the hotel restaurant as it’s easily the best on the whole street. Top level food and dining.
Nothing couldn’t have been better - a perfect trip and we are already looking to return this week.
Location location location. The grounds were fabulous, tiers, pools, gardens and views! Staff was exceptional! Especially Alba!
NOTHING
Staff, Location, food, bar facilities
Very expensive with no breakfast inc Bath with shower a bit old hat needs changing to large walkin showers
I could not fault this hotel! Perfect location very friendly & helpful staff & reasonably priced delicious food! Loved the little treats they left in your room each night!
Some of the boards on our terrace needed replacing
The hotel was superb, staff food everything, it is a 5 star hotel for sure!
Nothing
I mean this place was incredible! The location couldn’t be more perfect and the hotel itself and facilities were so gorgeous! We got in early, before our room was ready and they were super helpful with storing our luggage and setting us up at the pool! We needed a few taxis reserved for weird hours and they booked them for us and all taxis showed up right on time if not a little early.
Gorgeous hotel in an excellent location. It is well set up for families without being too kiddie. Very comfortable room, great bar and excellent breakfast with a choice of locations
Nothing, I liked it all
Staff. Extraordinary. Attentive but reserved. Accommodating in the best ways.
Great location, staff were excellent
Locatie is top ! Hotel is zeer netjes.
Niets.
Lovely Hotel with a perfect location on the beach in port Sóller. Very velcoming and serviceminded Staff that makes you feel at home. Beautiful ambience, facilities and interiors with its artcollection.
The area is beautiful. The hotel reminded me something of a woody Alan movie. The vibe is definitely the highlight. It've very romantic at night and great for people watching during the day. The staffs were all very friendly. The room was good but could use an update soon.
It was quite expensive but worth it. Also parking in a 5 minutes walk and you have to pay.
LA UBICACION ,LA LIMPIEZA Y EL CONFORT
LO UNICO QUE NO ME GUSTO LOS HORARIOS DEL RESTAURANTE POR LA NOCHE, PONEN HASTA LAS 12,30 PERO A LAS 10,15 YA EMPIEZAN A RECOGER
We usually stay at the Es Port Hotel in Port Soller but after having a few drinks here several times we thought we should give it a try as the hotel is directly across from the beach and the views are amazing. Location is perfect, facade looks very nice, very well kept but unfortunately the positives stop here. Reception was pleasant enough and we received a card for a welcome drink Cava was one of the drinks and I asked if I could have Cava Rose - the waitress wasn’t sure if that was possible but she would ask the manager. I assume it wasnt possible - probably much to expensive to be given Cava Rose so I had regular Cava probably 2/3 full without explanation. The unfriendly waiting staff set the scene for the rest of the holiday which was 4 days. This is an expensive hotel and the disappointment started there. I booked a standard room with sea view terrace and was very disappointed to find we had an extremely small room with nowhere to put anything. No drawers, very little wardrobe space, nowhere to put anything - and negotiating so where for our luggage. Mattress was only a topper as shown in the photo. Shower room was dated, tiny space for the toilet and dirty tiles. The terrace also disappointing - Chipped tiled table to use and the only way you could see the sea view was if you stood up and leaned over the balcony. Breakfast was also a disappointment The breakfast room is at best described as a cafeteria. We went to the breakfast room, no welcome from staff as to how to order food or coffee, so we sat down and had to ask staff how we order food or coffee - they weren’t going to make the effort to serve us. Some food was cooked to order - I wouldn’t bother - it was not good. Poached eggs swimming in water, not appetising at all. Poor breakfast buffet, very few choices for the €40 they charge - I really wouldn’t bother with breakfast here. Very noisy, staff clattering dishes and cutlery - not a good experience at all. Also, we hadn’t finished breakfast when workmen were shown in by a staff member and started discussing work to be done Due to the breakfast being so bad we didn’t risk booking dinner. Food and drinks here are very expensive and not worth it. Pool area ok - nobody I saw eating or drinking - too expensive and also the staff couldn’t be bothered making an effort. Also, I always go away for my birthday - this is THE ONLY HOTEL I’ve been to that didn’t send birthday wishes and a bottle of wine! Yes , the hotel presents a very nice facade and views are spectacular but that’s it. That alone doesn’t make a holiday Wish we had gone back to the Es Port - we will next time.
The most amazing staff we were flustered arriving and they immediately made us feel so comfy and at peace loved every part of the stay
Fantastic value for money Food Service rooms . A
The hotel was unreal. A touch of class but in a very relaxed and non pretentious way. Went for my 40th and it was so nice to just be in the hotel. The pool. The gym. The whole environment was lovely. Can't fault it. Unreal location. Wouldn't be surprised if we come back some time!!
The bed was a bit old and could have been more supportive for the back. And better pillows. Our sea view room was amazing, a little small, only a few small gripes.
Everything. Staff are top notch. Service exquisite. Rooms divine. Facilities beautiful. Terraces and swimming pool stunning. Breakfast out of this world. And that is why we come back time and again and have done for over 10 years!
Nothing!
The location was amazing! The property was beautiful and everyone there was so friendly! We would love to come back!
Spectacular view and beautiful hotel rooms and well located
Nothing
the staff were very friendly and always available to assist
Perfect location
The pools and sunbathing areas are on the small side .
The Hotel is absolutely outstanding. The most beautiful view, fantastic service and the swimming pools are out of this world. Loved the room drinks and snacks provided each day.
All of it was amazing. Location is perfect. Rooms are beautiful, staff extremely helpful and friendly
This hotel is a slice of heaven. Seriously. It’s one of those hotels where everything clicks. Staff were outstanding. Room was outstanding. Facilities were outstanding. The photos are exactly what you get. We were originally booked for four nights in April 2026 and were able to switch rooms and stay an extra night. Consider bypassing staying in Palma, come here instead and just take the train to Palma as a day trip. Anna at the front desk was exceptional. She set up the extra night effortlessly and easily booked transport directly to the airport. She is a true gem!
Nothing, it was heaven. It’s worth the money! I actually thought that I would be annoyed by the little tram going by every hour after two days, but nope, it was charming every time! Loved it!
The location and views from the hotel are exceptional - the terraces and pools overlooking the sea are just glorious, and the Spa a gem of an oasis. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and even after checkout, we were able to use the hotel facilities and leave our bags in a secure area until we needed to leave for the airport. My daughter (adult) and I had the best stay here!
Warm and welcoming from the offset, modern room, clean and comfortable. The view was simply unbelievable. Facilities were exactly as stated 👌🏻 We had a late flight home, and we were able to pay for the room extending half a day, which was a nice touch.
I’m struggling to think of any thing that springs to mind
Very friendly staff. Excellent room and spotlessly clean.
It would be useful to have the pool bar open for coffees and teas etc a little earlier in mornings, save having to get take aways from breakfast area.
Perfect location and beautiful view of the sunset every evening. The rooftop gardens and pools were top notch. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
We escaped without the kids for a long weekend. Exactly what we needed, perfect location, refined luxury, excellent service, lovely staff, calming atmosphere (and lovely smell throughout the hotel!). And THE best daily buffet breakfast! Oh AND the gym spa area is amazing…we did not expect to have that in a boutique hotel!
ubicacion excelente y servicios excepcionales. Desayuno muy bueno y piscina y jardines muy agradables
The location is great, the views from the hotel our outstanding. Complementary extras in the room were a lovely touch.
Room was a little tired but comfortable .
The setting of Hotel Espléndido is undeniably stunning. The views across the bay are beautiful, the water in Port de Sóller is crystal clear and wonderfully swimmable, and the location directly on the promenade is excellent. Unfortunately, the hotel itself did not live up to either its reputation or its price point. The biggest disappointment was the hospitality culture. From the moment we checked in, there was a noticeable difference between how regular guests appeared to be treated and how new guests were welcomed. We were not shown to our room, not even directed to the lifts, and were left to navigate what is a surprisingly confusing layout. Finding our room took considerably longer than it should have. Sleep quality was a recurring issue. The hotel has communal terraces between guest rooms, which unfortunately seem to encourage late-night socialising immediately outside bedroom windows. I experienced noise on multiple nights, including groups talking loudly well past midnight. The design itself is problematic. Not only does it create noise issues, but it also offers very little privacy, as guests can easily look across into neighbouring terraces. From a security perspective, the separation between some terraces is minimal and it would take very little for someone to step or climb across into another guest's outdoor space. What may have looked attractive on an architect's drawing board does not work particularly well in practice. When the noise issue was raised with reception, the response was disappointing. Rather than focusing on the fact that a guest had now had several disturbed nights, there seemed to be more interest in explaining that one of the guests involved was a regular visitor who stays several times a year. Whether intended or not, this created the impression that some guests are viewed differently from others. On another night we were woken by a group of heavily intoxicated guests returning to the hotel. What initially sounded like a loud impact against our door was followed by our door handle being tried repeatedly. Being abruptly woken in the middle of the night by somebody apparently attempting to access your room is not only disturbing, it is genuinely concerning from a personal safety perspective. At the time, we had no way of knowing whether this was simply a confused guest or something more serious. Reception attended and assisted the guests to their room, which suggests that their condition was evident. However, no acknowledgement or apology was offered for the distress and disturbance caused. Whilst the behaviour of other guests is not always within a hotel's control, how such incidents are handled certainly is. A simple apology and recognition of the impact on affected guests would have gone a long way. For a hotel positioning itself as a sophisticated and tranquil retreat, I found it surprising that visibly intoxicated guests were permitted to create repeated disturbances without any apparent consideration for the impact on neighbouring rooms. Housekeeping was also below expectations. Room servicing was often completed in around ten minutes despite the presence of carpets, a terrace and a full bathroom. The room was tidied rather than properly cleaned. My father noticed that used cups were not always washed or replaced. The bathroom drainage was particularly poor, leaving us standing in ankle-deep water while showering. For a hotel positioned at this level, that is simply not acceptable. Maintenance standards were similarly disappointing. Our terrace sunshade repeatedly malfunctioned and could not be used properly. The issue was reported, yet no one attended. After following up a second time, we were told that this can happen when it is windy. This explanation was difficult to understand given that conditions were calm and every neighbouring terrace had their sunshades extended throughout the day without issue. The problem was eventually said to have been fixed, yet afterwards it would no longer retract properly. The issue had not, in fact, been resolved. At a hotel of this calibre, guests should not have to chase basic maintenance issues, nor should repairs be addressed superficially rather than properly completed. The room itself also showed signs of wear that were inconsistent with the hotel's premium positioning. The carpets were visibly stained in places and contributed to a generally tired feel. Given the amount of foot traffic and the coastal environment, the choice of carpeting throughout guest rooms also seems questionable from both a maintenance and cleanliness perspective. What made this particularly frustrating was the contrast between attention given to cosmetic touches and the neglect of fundamentals. Fresh water and fruit were replenished daily, yet basic issues such as housekeeping standards, plumbing maintenance, room upkeep and guest comfort appeared to receive far less attention. On more than one occasion, the fruit basket itself contained fruit that was already past its best, which rather summed up the experience: attention paid to appearances, but not necessarily to the details underneath. The result is a hotel that feels increasingly reliant on its exceptional location rather than on exceptional service. The bay, the beautiful water, the mountains and the views are all gifts of nature and geography. They are the reason people come to Port de Sóller. The role of the hotel is to enhance that experience through hospitality, service, comfort and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I found little evidence of that. Beyond the location itself, which is undeniably spectacular, the hotel did little to enhance what is already a spectacular natural setting. I found Espléndido to be one of the most disappointing in terms of guest care, hospitality culture and attention to the basics. What makes this particularly disappointing is that the hotel's location and setting are so exceptional that, with genuinely attentive service, stronger attention to guest comfort and a more guest-focused culture, it could easily have become a place we returned to year after year. Instead, despite loving Port de Sóller itself, we would be unlikely to return to this hotel. A beautiful setting can create a memorable holiday, but genuine hospitality is what makes a great hotel. Unfortunately, that was the missing ingredient here.
Truly exceptional.
Everything.
Wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Everything has been considered so thoroughly. The food and service was exceptional.
Poor WiFi in room and by pool. Had to use 5G hotspot at the pool.
Everything!!! Even they way how they handle the BEV parking lot situation.
Some guests had lack of good behavior and manners in the hotel parking lot. They insisted on using charging spaces for BEV, besides the clear signs form the hotel.
The hotel is beautiful, so much attention to detail. The most perfect location and views!
Absolutely everything -great location, immaculately clean, all the amenities a person could want and staff were pleasant, efficient and welcoming!
That I had to leave!
staff was excellent very helpful staff helped arrange sailing trip and had dinner suggestions they parked my car and i fight have to bother w it fir three days
first class service, excellent food
Brilliant location and great facilities
Nothing really
It’s incredibly bright and clean and perfectly located. It runs like clockwork. I haven’t been back for a few years and was delighted to find everything as it was an even improved which I didn’t think was possible.
Nothing … it’s all wonderful
Lovely modern clean condition in a perfect location. Helpful staff
No dressing table and rooms at back of hotel a little dark
Amazing location
All good
We have been coming to this hotel since 2018, immaculately clean, the staff really make this hotel. Warm welcome from Reception team, very professional with lots of knowledge. Mar, Oljii, Sara, Antonia and the rest of the reception team amazing service. Amazing breakfasts, with views over Port de Sóller Bay. Restaurant produce amazing meals using local Mallorcan produce. The bar staff are incredible, great mixologists. The best Red Sangria in Mallorca. The views are Breathtaking, recommend booking a Sea View room, to waken up, hearing the sea gently lapping on the beach. Amazing sunset views. Such a stunningly beautiful area. Beds incredibly comfortable, we get such a good peaceful sleep staying at Esplendido. We will definitely return.
The hotel is really well designed, breakfast was excellent, with variety and quality. Staff was very kind. Located in front of Mallorca beach, with a very beautiful view.
Good breakfast with a la carte on the ground floor or on the first floor buffet style with a very pleasant terrace.
Tudo, vista espetacular
Nada, tudo perfeito!
Beautifully designed, spacious, light and very calm vibe
Location was amazing. Very beautiful and clean
The location was amazing! the rooms beautiful and the service outstanding!!
Location is excellent, right on the promenade in the centre of town. We had a ocean facing room with balcony/terrace access and the view was fabulous. The terraced areas behind the hotel with multiple pools and lots of different areas for sun or shade was very well designed. Well equipped gym with sauna, steam room and cold plunge. Dined at hotel one night and food was also very good.
Lack of privacy on the terrace [small point].
The staff were super helpful and friendly and the location is fantastic. The facilities are great and they are generous with pool & swimming towels
There was a slight musty / moldy smell in the room. Not strong but it was definitely present. Also the aircon in the gym isn't usually on and when I asked to put it on I was told it 'wasn't allowed' to set it lower than 23 degrees which made working out very uncomfortable.
It’s a hotel straight out of a Wes Anderson film. As a family, we had the pleasure of spending a few days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised for the second time, which we were absolutely delighted about. The hotel is styled like a Fin de Siècle grand hotel, yet modern. The vistas looking out over the bay are wonderful. The à la carte breakfast in a quiet atmosphere was highly enjoyable. The two pools were also lovely, offering plenty of space for the children to play. Everything was taken care of for us. The hotel has plenty of staff who look after the guests wonderfully and with touching care. Thank you, dear Esplendito team. We will be back.
We have returned to Esplendido every year since 2010, with a few exceptions during Covid etc. It remains our holiday destination of choice, and we want to explain why.. There are three distinctive characteristics about the Esplendido hotel. The first is its location, perfectly positioned to capture the commanding view of the entrance to Puerto Sóller’s horseshoe bay, framing of each sunset between the two headlands, it is the perfect ‘instagram’ view for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The tram from Soller trundles by the front door every half hour, and just across the road you find the beach and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. The second reason is the hotel and facilities. Sea view rooms literally are a stones throw from the sea. Garden rooms open onto immaculate manicured terraces and present the perfect vista of the bay. Rooms are spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. You know each wall has been freshly painted, each carpet meticulously cleaned, this is the cleanest hotel we have ever had the privilege to visit. The third and most important feature is the people. Checking in, going for breakfast, dining in the evening, are invariably met with smiles, ‘welcome back’ , and sometimes hugs….. We have nothing but praise for the reception team who cannot do enough for you, the housekeeping team who never stop cleaning, the food and beverage team who treat you as old friends, and the maintenance team who work in the background to keep everything running smoothly. Our strongest recommendation is that we have managed 13 stays in 16 years. The years we missed we didn't go anywhere. Every time we leave we are planning when we can return, because it really is that good….
Amazing location, pool area and food.
