Tout le personnel est adorable. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et copieux. La chambre dans laquelle on a séjourné était spacieuse, très propre et surtout très calme. Je ne peux que recommander cet hôtel !

Perfect, family run hotel - warm and welcoming

Nothing not to like - only gave it 9 rather than 10 because there's always something somewhere that can be improved! A return visit and it won't be the last.

Lovely old fashioned hotel. Extremely comfortable. Lovely sofas and a fire downstairs. Breakfast great and all the staff were so friendly. Room and bed and bathroom huge.

Some people might say the bedroom furniture was antiquated but we loved it

Die zentrale Lage im Ort mit vielen Pubs und Restaurants – auch direkt im Hotel – ist super praktisch. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und vielseitig.Unser Zimmer war angenehm groß und sauber. Die Atmosphäre zeichnet sich durch echte, gelebte Gastfreundschaft aus. Zudem war das gesamte Team kompetent und sehr hilfsbereit.Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The whole experience was fantastic . The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent so we ate there every night . Room spacious and very large comfortable bed . If I could give 11 out if 10 I would . Definitely be back hopefully with better weather

Parkplatz ist abenteuerlich, Einfahrt ist sehr schmal, Plätze begrenzt. Duschen haben offensichtlich eigene Pumpen und sind dadurch sehr laut, was besonders nachts störend ist, insgesamt sehr hellhörig

Die Ausstattung in den Zimmern ist sehr alt. In dem Bett von meiner Frau kam seitlich schon eine Feder aus der Matratze. Die Matratzen sind sehr unbequem und bedürfen einer Erneuerung. Im zweiten Zimmer war es feucht. Im hinteren Frühstücksraum konnte man vor lauter schwarzer Schimmel die Bilder über dem Fenster auf der Tapete nicht mehr erkennen. Das Frühstück war auch nicht sehr berauschend. Wir haben auf unserer Rundreise in 6 weiteren Hotels übernachtet und in keinem anderen Hotel war das Frühstück so einfach wie hier. Schade. Das Hotel hat auch keine eigene Parkplätze. Man kann zwar vor der Türe parken, wenn man Glück hat. Die Parkplätze sind öffentlich, so das man dort nur zu einer bestimmten Uhrzeit kostenlos Parken kann. Zum Glück sind wir nur 2 Nächte geblieben. Wir können diese Hotel nicht wirklich empfehlen. Einmal und nie wieder. Das Hotel war für diese Verhältnisse absolut überteuert.

Staff at breakfast were so kind and helpful

When we arrived we were met by a woman in reception who she was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. She did not tell us or even point where our room was or where breakfast was to be served. This was a very poor first impression and so disappointing.

Very conveniently located, amazing staff. Loved that this is family run. The decor is slightly out of date, but we will take that over an impersonal Air B n B that takes much needed long-term housing off the market. Great hotel. Ample breakfast. Fantastic location.

I only wish that I had stayed in Foyles last year too because it is such a peaceful place, fantastic food and staff. Thank you all hope to see you again.

A little gem. We stayed for three nights. The food was soooo good that we dined the three nights in the hotel restaurant. It wouldnt be out of place in a michelin star restaurant. Also, have to say that the staff are so friendly and catered to our every need, be it more tea or whatever. The entertainment in the bar was top class, being an open mic night, didnt know what to expect, wow we're we happily surprised. Plaudits to all involved....Would highly recommend and will return without hesitation...

Zentraler könnte das Hotel nicht sein und das Zimmer war relativ groß. Wir hatten einen Twinroom gebucht und hatten sogar drei Betten. Beim Frühstück kann man warmes Essen nach seinen Wünschen bestellen und Müsli vom Buffet holen. Das Rührei war sehr lecker.

Der Parkplatz ist sehr abenteuerlich, uns würde an der Rezeption dazu geraten, ihn uns erst einmal ohne Auto anzuschauen und am besten gar nicht zu nutzen. Die Einfahrt ist extrem eng und an einer Stelle steil, hügelig und geschottert. Es ging, aber nur mit Einweisung. Das ganze Hotel ist gemütlich aber sehr in die Jahre gekommen, insbesondere unser Badezimmer hätte schon vor Jahren eine Renovierung nötig gehabt. Die Abflüsse von Wachsbecken und Badewanne waren blau- grün verrostet und in der Badewanne waren Rückstände, Putzmittel oder einfach Dreck, der uns dazu gebracht hat, dort nicht zu duschen. Beim Frühstück gab es leider nur eingelegtes Obst, kein frisches. Es gibt zwar keinen Fahrstuhl aber älteren Leuten hat das Personal angeboten, die Koffer zu tragen.

Old school charm, great service and a terrific location.

It was centrally located, very clean and value for money for time of year. Foyles himself a lovely chap & reception ladies so nice , great to find this gem.

Foyle’s lives up to its reputation as a great hotel for great food and a good nights rest. Their car park facility was also a welcome surprise. Very friendly and professional staff throughout the hotel. Service and quality beyond its three star rating. Money well spent and we look forward to our next stay

Didn’t get as much friendliness from the staff compared to a couple of other places we had just stayed in. However this wouldn’t stop us staying again.

From the moment we arrived, the staff, especially June, were so warm, friendly and incredibly helpful, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious and prepared wonderfully. Thank you to everyone for fantastic hospitality. We can't wait to come back.

We had a magnificent stay for a family event for 3 nights in Foyles...a traditional, old world hotel right in the centre of Clifden. Oldstyle room keys come with a key to the front door.. in case you're late coming in at night. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable and very helpful and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome eg serving us tea/ coffee and biscuits on our arrival after a long drive. We left chargers in our room when we left on Monday.They arrived in the post at our home on Tuesday. When I phoned to thank them and offered to pay the postage they refused and suggested I could bring chocolate when I next visit. The room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable and there is real power in the shower. The breakfast buffet including the full Irish was among the best we've ever had. We had a superb dinner in their Matconi restaurant. Two great nights were had in the inhouse Mullarkeys bar enjoying great music played by top class musicians. We had a superb stay and cannot think of any fault. The genuinely friendly and helpful staff are what make this hotel extra special...and we do a lot of travelling. We shall return.

The staff were nice and helpful. The bed was huge and comfortable and the shower was great. Breakfast was really good. Mullarkeys bar was also good and we saw a great band in there.

Brilliant family owned & run hotel in the heart of Clifden. Old world elegance, atmosphere & charm. Bedrooms are large with high ceilings & great ensuites, mainly with baths & showers. Wonderful bar onsite with regular live music. And the most fantastic breakfast served in a fab dining room. Dinner in the Marconi restaurant is probably the best in Clifden. Juicy tender filet steaks, veg cooked to perfection & a decent wine list. And the most attentive hosts imaginable. Hats off to S & L.

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful hotel for two nights. 😍 The breakfast, and the food in restaurant was just amazing, the rooms were lovely, the staff were brilliant and so friendly, special shout of to Jason and June who was so lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for you,And the owners Lisa and Stephen were so lovely to. We will definitely be back. We enjoyed it so much.

I was in the area for work and had a very enjoyable 2 night stay in Foyles. I had dinner there both nights and breakfast two mornings. All the food and service was excellent and I would highly recommend eating here. The building is beautiful with many interesting objects and images on the walls. The location is perfect and so central. I had to park on the street but that was fine as I was away for work during the day and the parking is free overnight. I had a very comfortable stay and will definitely return!

Had dinner there. The Hake and the the potatoes were delicious. Front of house staff were very friendly. Rooms were spotless. Will definitely be back
