Reviewed Aug 17, 2026The room I booked was huge. It had both a shower and bath. The bathroom was amazing and modern. The bed was comfy and it came with an electric blanket which helped with the cold. Upon arrival, there were chocolates and a welcome note on the bed, which is a nice touch from the guesthouse. The breakfast was amazing. I had the Nightingale Special (you can only choose one from the provided menu) and it was divine - 10/10. Hot beverages and cereals are bottomless and self-service. The room also came with cutlery and crockery in case you have a meal in the room. The fridge also was stocked with two small bottles of water, which was welcomed. There was also a microwave in the room which I liked. The room also had a smart tv for YouTube and other streaming services, as well as DSTV.
Some of the rooms are connected to each other so you can hear everything that happens in the neighbour’s room. At one point, my neighbours were having an argument at 9pm and I had to ask them to stop so I can get some rest. Furthermore, the room is not sound proof at all. If a car drives past or if someone is walking outside, the sound is heard very loud and clearly. I could hear the kids playing on the street and I wasn’t too close to the road. The location is not too good. It was a bit noisy as the property is located in a residential area. So you will hear what is happening around you. The staff seem to leave the property around 6pm so if you arrive after that time, arrangements need to be made for check-in. They do give a panic button in the room in case of emergency, but there’s no one on the property to ask for assistance should there be any other challenge - such as a noisy neighbour, etc.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026My mother and I stayed at Nightingale Guesthouse on 30 May 2026, and we had a wonderful experience. We especially appreciated the safe parking right next to our room, as my mother has difficulty walking. This thoughtful arrangement made our stay much more comfortable and convenient. The room was clean, neat, and well-maintained, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Mrs Kruger was a friendly and helpful hostess who communicated all the important information well in advance of our arrival, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free. Thank you for your warm hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again. Kind regards, Annalize Dippenaar
