The location was perfect for me. I was not able to take advantage of the breakfast amenity.

There was nothing that I didn't like about it. The other guests were pleasant and personable. There was a nice area with a bar and snacks to purchase. And, I also appreciated that even though there were lots of people sitting by the bar area, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and there was a quiet temperance in the space overall.

Walkable to almost everything in town. The room was quiet. Beds were comfortable.

We loved that we could walk downtown to find food and reach our destination at the Mark Ridleys Comedy Castle. Also there was a wide spread of breakfast options and the staff were very good about replenishing and replacing items as they were getting low. The staff over all were very nice and helpful throughout our entire stay.

The elevators were a bit creaky so to someone who’s scared of elevator's I’d say be weary.

Great, clean hotel in Royal Oak. Safe neighbourhood, lots of restaurants close by, easy access to downtown (about 20-25 min drive).

Hotel is in a great location, walkable neighborhood. The staff were welcoming and kind. The rooms and general areas were clean and tidy. And free parking!!!

Perfectly placed in Royal Oak, food, etc. within walking distance. Rooms are always clean and ready when I arrive, and the staff is always responsive and helpful. Very hard to beat that combination.

Convenient location for my needs

Inflexible when I informed them I needed to leave one day early. Told me to contact Booking.com to make the change. Booking.com told me to discuss with the hotel! an impossible loop and I did not have the time to argue and so I ended up being charged for a night I didn't need...will reconsider future bookings that way. Hotel has to, at the end of the day, be responsible for charges.

Clean, little outdated but comfortable stay. Maybe upgrade coffee availability and replace the coffee makers in the room. Parking is kinda a nightmare especially on weekends

I liked everything about this property it was clean throughout the building. It offer us the space we needed. I enjoyed the food especially the raspberry fruit mix topping.

A clean Hyatt Place with friendly staff. Issue I have was the responsiveness of the management when a potential security issue was raised. I woke up for work and found a person sleeping right outside my door. I have 9 more weeks of work in the area, unfortunately I will be staying elsewhwre

I had a wonderful stay. The room was larger and more spacious than expected, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating—they even honored my vegetarian request and helped arrange a quick meal when I arrived late, which I truly appreciated. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations. When I’m in Royal Oak in the future, I would gladly stay here again.

Comfy beds! Nicely appointed room. This was a pre surgery stay close to hospital in Royal Oak. Parking a bit of a hunt, And one guest service rep really tough to understand. Overall, am going to be a repeat customer.

My next hotel had Full size fridge. Stove. Dishwasher. Garbage disposal. Microwave, Silverware, Dish's, Pots and pans, Paper towels USB ports everywhere. Free laundry, BBQ grills outside of gym and indoor pool. 24 hour coffee & tea station, Ice machines an every floor, Rooms cleaned daily. Your place is way over priced for a very dated facility and had none of the above, Got all of this at Candlewood suites in Sterling Heights for less than half price,

Good location, and a spacious, clean room. Breakfast seemed weak for the price, didn't attend. Staff was friendly and property was clean and well kept.

It was peak holiday yet everything seemed bare bones. Parking was limited as much was roped off. Bar is supposed to be a full bar yet we were told they could only serve beer, wine, or simple mix drinks. I was told they couldn’t make martinis and then they made someone else an espresso martini!?? Also bar was closed down early every night.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. I stay here several times a year for work and I look forward to my stay with them each time.

It's clean, it's new, it's a decent location, and it's decorated with all of the warmth and style of a DMV. If you don't plan on being awake for much of the time you're staying there, it's a solid choice.

We loved the room - very comfortable beds, no street noise, no HVAC noise.

We couldn't believe how bad the breakfast was! For $300, we got a classic Motel 6 breakfast - scrambled eggs, frozen fruit compote, bagels, bacon, hash brown slabs, etc. We were hoping for smoked fish, fresh fruit, an omelet station, cheeses, meat, etc.

Pluses: Uniformly outstanding staff Very clean Good location in Royal Oak Resonably priced. Minuses: Incredibly loud heating/cooling system; too loud to use Down-like mattress pad that made the bed too hot to sleep on. Bad, overstuffed, neck-killing pillows.

The woman who checked us in Thursday (10/9) was extremely helpful and friendly. The free breakfast in the morning was a wonderful surprise. The front desk personnel Friday (10/10) morning couldn’t have been more helpful and The bartender Friday evening was so welcoming. Our room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom design, with the shelf behind the sink provided ample room for both myself and my sister’s toiletries. And the shelf below the sink had lots of room for all our hair care supplies. The Hyatt Place Royal Oak is a great choice whether you are here for an overnight or extended stay. It is in a perfect location to enjoy all that Main Street has to offer. Restaurants and shopping are all in walking distance from the hotel. Also, the hotel is only a 1/2 hour drive from Detroit Metro Airport and a big plus, there are no parking fees or resort charges. We will definitely choose this Hotel again on our next visit. A big thank you to all the staff.

The hotel is bright and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful, especially with directing me for parking. The breakfast was phenomenal! And my room’s bed was so comfortable and spacious. The internet also worked for high-speed video calling! Great restaurants within walking distance, too. I was very happy to spend the night here.

The whole process was easy and the hotel was nice. Staff made check in and check out easy as well as greeted us. The room was nice and clean. Location was great and parking was easy. It was nice having a safe place to park for the stay and have the ability to walk to all the local shops and venues. We stayed for a comedy show and would love to return again.

The Hyatt Place meets Hyatt standards. Nicely furnished and has one of the better buffet breakfasts. It is well located and complimentary parking is a plus. Staff are all pleasant and helpful.

I booked a room several days in advance using points and even double-checked my reservation with Hyatt Customer Service before arriving, since we were driving five hours with young kids. My reservation was confirmed multiple times. However, when I reached the hotel, they claimed they couldn’t find my booking. Instead of resolving the issue, they made me wait and repeatedly call customer service myself. Customer Service confirmed to them that my reservation was valid, but the hotel staff refused to listen and insisted that I book another reservation. To make matters worse, I was told my points would be forfeited because it would count as a same-day cancellation. After waiting nearly two hours, I had no choice but to book and pay for another room just to have a place to stay. The hotel staff were extremely rude and dismissive throughout the ordeal. While Hyatt Customer Service was courteous, they said they couldn’t override the hotel’s decision since the onsite manager had the final say. Overall, this was a very disappointing and stressful experience. I would not recommend this hotel — they treated me poorly and showed no willingness to help guests in need.
