L’emplacement était plutôt bien, mais il fallait ouvrir la fenêtre pour voir quelque choses dehors.

Chambre sans balcon. Et le taxi commander la veille, n’a pas eu lieu le lendemain nous avons pas vu de taxi arriver pour 07:30 beaucoup de stresse pour prendre le ferry . Je regrette d’avoir repris une chambre pour le retour dans cette hôtel . Et pour repartir à l’aéroport nous irons en métro. Je ne fais plus confiance. Dans cette hôtel, il n’y a pas de réception.

Staff exceptional. Probably the best and we have travelled though out the world, room enough space, air con,the view, proximity of major sites. Major factor the long breakfast time this enabled early viewing of the sites, whilst cooler and back for breakfast Also the roof top restaurant, best view of acropolis and having to only go up a floor or two

Très belle chambre avec balcon vu sur l’acropole, quartier sympa avec pas mal de restaurant, à 5 min à pied il y a le métro. On peut beaucoup de chose à pied car l’hôtel est très bien placé. L’accueil est très bon.

La ubicación y las vistas a la Acrópolis son la gran baza de este hotel.

La cabina de ducha es sumamente pequeña, aunque esto a nosotros no nos planteó problemas. El personal del bar es muy poco eficaz, el desayuno resulta complicadísimo porque uno no puede hacer el café y hay que esperar a que venga otra persona a hacerlo, si se pide un sandwich tarda 20 minutos en llegar, la comunicación no resulta fluida… No suele haber nadie en recepción. En fin, da a impresión de poca profesionalidad en general, lo que aleja mucho a este hotel de la categoría superior..

Location was ideal for our family. Clean , lively and safe area. Follow walking path to Acropolis and Parthenon, Agora.and other attractions. Easy access to Thissio train station with an easy ride to Airport or Ferry port. I would skip car service in the future. Our complimentary breakfast was our favorite meal in Athens. The view was surreal. We loved this place!

If you check out before 7:45am, let concierge know the night before as doors are locked for entry and exit. A little tricky to navigate key drop off etc without prior discussion. Honestly there is no doubt that we would stay here again.

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Thissio. The room was spotless and very comfortable, the breakfast was amazing, and the staff were all extremely kind and made my experience very memorable. The view from my room was amazing! The staff were all so kind, and I hope I can stay at Hotel Thissio in the future!

- The noise level outside was quite bad. Luckily we were too tired and managed to fall asleep. - Skipped breakfast as the breakfast area was very hot - it was 35 degrees that day outside and there seem to be no air conditioning in that area - the decor of the room was very basic and I found the room overpriced for what it was, but that star of the show was Acropolis view and that made up for it

Absolutely everything was perfect. The staff were welcoming and accommodated my need to leave before breakfast by leaving an ample breakfast at my my door. The room was beautiful and spacious, with an amazing view of the Acropolis from sunrise to brilliantly lit at night. Location was perfection; 5-10 mins walk up a beautiful pedestrian avenue to the trail that leads to the base of the Acrooolis (group meeting place/ticket office). Walking distance to many historical sites, the flea market, shops & restaurants. The on site restaurant was wonderful with excellent service, food and views. The food was excellent; I'm forever going to dream of the moussaka and rich morning yogurt & fruit). I highly recommend. Thanks for making my visit so special. Paige Romine

Great location to explore Athens. Close to the Acropolis. Many restaurants nearby. The neighborhood felt safe. We had a nice little balcony to enjoy the view of the square and the Acropolis in the distance. The room was very clean but other areas a little tired/not as tidy. Good breakfast included but it started a little late for our early morning tour.

The major downfall to this room was the shower which was tiny. Instead of a door they had a shower curtain which stuck to you throughout the shower. Yuk, expecially when it is not your shower curtain. I am not sure if this bathroom was intended to be a wet room but even if it wasn't the bathroom ended up very wet. We were on a cruise ship with a similar size shower but as it had a glass door it was tolerable, so if they could make that change it might be ok. The overall size of the bathroom was good.

The view! Tremendous

The staff treated us like family from the moment we arrived. They unloaded our luggage for our party of 5 which was substantial, while they directed us inside to cafe tables with cool lemonade awaiting. This is old school hospitality that we just don't experience in the US anymore and it's sad we don't. All this and I haven't even mentioned the view from our room balcony directly on the Acropolis and the rooftop bar/restaurant that we ate it with the same view at night. Wonderful stay and highly recommended to anyone staying in Athens.

Absolutely nothing we didn't like.

Great, convenient location and good view, possibly the best view, of the Acropolis. Very helpful staff - they packed us breakfast as we had to leave early for a day trip. Very spacious room for 3 people. 2 balconies is a big plus.

Entrance through the cafe/restaurant but this is a minor point. Jacuzzi bath could be cleaned more thoroughly, we didn’t use it in the end.

the location is great and the staff was wonderful. The building is a bit old but you can see they have upgraded quite a few things. DONT use the booking.com address...it is wrong and the taxi dropped me off 2 blocks away and I had to push my suitcases up a steep hill over cobblestones! Call the hotel for the correct address.

Drink prices at their restaurant across the street were a bit high. Half L of beer was 8.50 euro, vers 5 euro 2 block away.

Kleenex in the bathroom would be a plus. The shower had some leaks so water would get on the floor. That's not a big deal but it's a little messy.

The hotel is quite central, very convenient to walk to the attractions and flea market. The hotel staff is helpful.

The hotel surrounded can be quite noisy in the evening..

The relaxed atmosphere, peaceful street and walking distance to the most incredible history of Athens has been such a lovely way to start our month-long travels. We chose a corner suite which, no matter how many times you look out from your balcony, the view never ceases to amaze. The staff have been helpful when required, nothing is too much trouble, included breakfasts have been excellent, the coffee is great, the room is clean and spacious. Dinner on the rooftop was also outstanding. After three days, I simply don’t want to leave.

A hotel a történelmi Athén legszebb helyén található. Különleges érzés volt itt lakni ebben a környezetben. A személyzet kifogástalan. Az ágy, az ágynemű nagyon kényelmes. Reggelinél a frissen facsart narancslé és a kávék nagyon jól voltak elkeszítve. Legközelebb is ezt a hotelt választanám. Ismerőseimnek, akik turistaként látogatják meg a várost, csak a Hotel Thissiot fogom ajánlani.

A reggeli sajnos nem az én ízlésemnek való, nem szeretem a rántottát, omlettet, tükörtojást. Ezek túl hangsúlyosan voltak. A toastok minőségén javítani kellene. Hamarosan ráfér a szállodára egy kis frissítés, hogy ne tűnjön kopottnak.

Die Zimmer waren schön mit dem Akropolisblick und die Ausstattung bequem.

Das Frühstück hat uns nicht begeistert, geringe Auswahl, keine Backwaren. Der Frühstücksraum war im März kalt, die Beheizung mit einem Gasbrenner nur pro forma. Nachts ziehen Horden feiernder Touristen und Einheimischer durch die Straße am Hotel, es ist laut. Hinzu kam am Sonntag die Entfernung von Abfällen (Abpumpen von Frittierfett oder Ähnliches) um 7:00 Uhr morgens direkt vor unserem Zimmern stand der nötige Kompressor).

Good location very close to the Acropolis and Ancient Agora.

We were met with smiles and lemonade on check-in, however our experience quickly turned negative. We found in one bathroom a broken toilet seat which almost caused a serious accident for our elderly mother with a knee replacement, a filthy shower curtain which was quickly removed by staff and never replaced. Hotel staff's response to these two issues was to send maintenance staff to repair the bathroom issue at a late hour, with an offer for complimentary dinner and an offer to change the room in question to a lower floor without a balcony view, separated from our own room. Following this ordeal which ruined our evening and night, we were then surprised to find stained linens in the second room, both bed sheets and pillow cases and a stained towel and dirty shower in the second bathroom. We did not shower in these conditions and slept on towels, disgusted with the linens underneath and did not report these additional issues as to deal with the staff again would've meant a sleepless night and would've ruined our only day for touring Athens. Everything described here was communicated to the hotel management team after our vacation, with a request for a partial compensation for the serious inconveniences caused by their maintenance and cleaning staff. We were met with polite denials at first, which turned into legal threats when we brought up the fact we would post pictures of what we found in their hotel on check-in. Needless to say, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel, the conditions and aggravation dealing with its management is not worth your time and money. Plenty of other options in the area which we now regret overlooking.

Excellent location - very close to all the major sites and a great view of the Acropolis. Good breakfast and charming staff. Good water pressure in the shower and comfortable beds.

The safe in our bedroom wasn’t attached to the wall so it didn’t seem very secure and we didn’t use it.

We loved every thing. From the moment we arrived early on Sunday March 29, 2026 Kyriakos was an execeptitonal Manager. He secured our bags and then we went to visit the acropolis. Super close. When we came back - Bags in room and the view was exaclty as shown on the Web. Perfect centarl location next to the Acoropils. The walk around balcony was beautiful. We stayed one night but wished we stayed more - we had to connect with a cruise. The staff such as Eleni and Elia and of course Giogos were so professional and super accomodating. The exceptional service of Hotel Thissio employees will defintely make us cone back in the future. Finally the breakfast which was included was awesome. A big shout out to the entire staff!!!!! Kyriakos was lazer focused on making sure the guests were happy and he achieved that by his actions. If we could give him a 15 out of 10 we would. Thank you Kyriakos!!!!!

Everything was perfect

Friendliest staff. Amazing neighborhood. Will not stay anywhere else when I go to Athens. They are phenomenal. Breakfast was delicious. I had a wonderful time and can’t recommend this property enough. Made my bucket list vacation perfect and I mean perfect. 10/10 no notes. ❤️

早餐不是自助的，而是早晨自己点，最离谱的是我们九点到餐厅，点完早餐，上了咖啡和酸奶后，整整等了一个半小时，十点半才上主食，中间还去催了我几次，但是等待期间也没有一个人来解释一下原因，吃完早餐都快11点了，白白浪费了一个多小时，真的太离谱了。一起在餐厅等的客人都非常着急。

The hotel is very well located, very clean and confortable. An abundant and delicious “ a la carte” breakfast was included,at no extra cost. Prime attention by the hotel staff made our stay a very pleasant experience.

The location is absolutely amazing. The hotel is within walking distance of major monuments and historical sites, making it very easy to explore Athens on foot. The views and surroundings are beautiful, especially being so close to iconic landmarks. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent fresh, delicious, and with a great variety of options. It was one of the highlights of the stay. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit.

The location is perfect, right in front of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. So many other historical sites and beautiful parks also in walking distance. There is a train station just 5 min walk from the hotel, numerous great restaurants, and the location isn’t too busy. The room was spacious, comfy bed, wonderful balcony and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcome and taken care of.

Die Lage am Fuße der Akropolis ist schon der Hammer. Ausserdem ist der Stadtteil Thissio nahe an anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie dem Akropolis Museum oder der Antiken Agora. Die Umgebung ist zudem mit zahlreichen Restaurants, Cafés und vielen Straßenhändlern sehr belebt. Sowohl zur Metrostation Thissio, als auch zur Haltestelle Monastiraki kommt man schnell zu Fuß. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist a la Carte und hat uns persönlich sehr gut gefallen und geschmeckt. Auf dem Zimmer ist ausserdem ein Wasserkocher, Tee und Instant-Kaffee, so dass man zwischendurch mal im Zimmer relaxen und sich was zu trinken machen kann. Schöner Balkon mit Tisch und zwei Stühlen und direktem Blick auf die Akropolis. Schöne Rooftop Bar/Restaurant. Sehr freundliches Personal. Mit Englisch sind wir gut klar gekommen. Wir waren über den Jahreswechsel 4 Tage in Athen und das Hotel war noch ganz gemütlich weihnachtlich dekoriert.

Nichts, wo ich nicht in den Krümeln suchen müsste. Was wir nicht so auf dem Schirm hatten ist, dass es im Winter in Athen auch mal empfindlich kühl werden kann (5, 6 Grad Celsius). Das Zimmer hatte aber eine Klimaanlage, mit der man das Zimmer auch aufwärmen konnte. Allerdings darf man keine Heizung wie in Deutschland erwarten. Das Leben findet sowieso überwiegend draußen statt. Am besten ne extra Weste oder einen dicken Pulli, Mütze und Halstuch mitnehmen. Hat aber nicht direkt etwas mit dem Hotel zu tun. Ist allgemein einfach so.
