Compared to similar hotels in Kunming, Jinan and Changsha, this hotel has a bit less value for money.

Convenient location, great service, very clean and modern interior, and very good breakfast.

The hotel's location—close to both the train station and metro—was a major reason for choosing it. The room was spacious and clean, and the cleaning team staff were extremely professional and friendly. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of options. However, the quality seemed to vary depending on whether tour groups were present (the food appeared better on days without tourist groups—though this may be a very subjective observation).

The coffee machines were clearly in need of cleaning—a warning sign remained on display throughout our entire 3-day stay, which suggests the breakfast buffet staff lack attention to detail. On one of the days, the staff forgot to bring out butter until I reminded them (lol). Additionally, some staff in the kitchen or dining area spoke loudly and chatted with each other while cleaning tables, which made the dining experience less pleasant. Surprisingly, no manager or supervisor seemed to offer any feedback or correction to the staff regarding these issues. Also, the pedestrian roads to access the hotel are under construction and uneven—while not the hotel's fault, this made access challenging, especially on a rainy day.

I was travelling and wanted to be close to the train station. This hotel is very close to the south station.

I do not have any complaints.

The modern hotel included everything you need. Great large shower.

The hotel wasn’t located super close to the train station or a nearby subway station, but was walkable.

Good hotel with bad AC. Metro and railway were a 10 minute walk. Breakfast had some western dishes. Very little help for non Chinese speakers.

The location is perfect for travelers arriving with train and there are also good restaurants in the neighborhood. I appreciated that breakfast items were marked with allergy information, which helped me choose gluten free items.

Exceptionally clean & modern hotel approx. 10 minutes walk from Nanjing South Railway station. Very functional room layout, extremely comfortable bed with good pillow options, quality towels and bathroom amenities. Separate shower cubicle with good water pressure. Plenty of eating options in the nearby area. Good menu options at breakfast; front desk was very helpful despite limited English.

The hotel is within a short walking distance from Nanjing South railway station, and a short taxi ride from the old part of town near Confucius temple. The room was nice, and breakfast offered both Chinese and Western options.

Unfortunately, breakfast was not included in the price. You had to pay extra for breakfast. Unfortunately, it was quite high, higher than the prices in nearby restaurants.

I liked the stuffs behavior, they were helpful.

The comfort of the room

Near Nanjing South Station, walkable, but not a pleasant or direct stroll. Inexpensive taxi ride. 11 RMB. Contradictory menus. On line, on page in room, and in the restaurant; also room service vs in restaurant. The food itself is excelleny, the ittegilat atrium splendid.

The room had 27 degrees celsius and the staff said they don't turn on the aircon because it's cold outside. made for a hot, sleepless night.

The hotel is nice if you have to be in this area for work or for a train from the south station. They are many restaurants nearby. If I go again to Nanjing I would stay in the center or near the lake by the main railway station

Clean rooms, big bad, breakfast - quite big choice. Staff - some of them try to help, even they couldn't speak English. Not so far from Nanjing South Station, but only when the weather is good.

Problems with communication in English. Not all staff at reception desk and almost nobody in restaurant could speak English. At first time not easy to find - on Google Maps localisation (delivered by hotel) is not proper. And it's hard to find someone who could help you. In room next to elevator all the night you could hear the sound of the lift (doors and others strange). For lunch you could forget about hotel restaurant - only 1 of 2 salad was available, and nothing more. If you ask for still water you receive cup of hot water.

Hotel not easy to get by public transport, front desk had good attitude but slow, terrible breakfast, horrible cigarette smell. Breakfast food would have been great but for the fact that everything was cold. All the dishes that were meant to be hot are not. The water and tea jug was unreasonably large and long for placement on such a high table. Worst part was lack of general sense of cleanliness. Staff took dirty cups, bowls and plates to our table, then proceeded to consolidate right in front of us, with liquids being poured from one container to another. Yuk, and risky for spilling over us. Then staff took the cart which was emitting a strange smell and position around our table while collecting plates from another. They swivelled (not moved away) it by about 5cm after I complained about the smell. And then did it again less than 10 minutes later. All the while I was trying to eat. When I took the chopsticks from the utensils box on the table, some were wet. The jam station, only two out of six jars had spoons in them. Unbelievable. Staff took away my utensils after I went for a refill, despite me deliberately putting them aside (ie not on the plate). The air con is bad. Never gives me the set temperature. And the cigarette smell. Very very bad smell, suffocating in fact. Comes on around 2am. I am here for another night, let's hope breakfast tomorrow is hot.

I didn't have the breakfast because I had to travel early to the airport, but I imagine judging by the smell of it that it would have tasted delicious. It was an excellent room with everything you could need.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like because I was only there for one night, so I couldn't possible give an accurate opinion on it.

The hotel location is very convenient. Rooms well maintained. Buffet food, flavour and variety excellent for foreigners tastes. F&B service shows staff are well trained. The hotel is clean all around. RECEPTION needs attention. a) None of the staff welcome you to the hotel. They just take your passport and scan it to give the key asap. however.... b) The male staff took out his PERSONAL PHONE and took a photo of my passport without asking me. This is serious breach of security. With technology today, who knows if the guy is selling my data to his WeChat contacts? He said because the "scanner isn't working" but they already printed copies, so that excuse is weak. To avoid embarrassment with my clients I remained quiet....TIC. I hope the GM reads this and understands this is a breach of company rules and very unsettling in the age of selling data.

Nice hotel , no issues. This was a typical Holiday Inn and the staff was friendly and professional. I will plan to stay again at the same hotel next time to Nanjing. In the room has mini bar, bathroom supplies ,.

Conveniently located

Stayed in this hotel with my family of 3 as we booked under a guided tour. The room was good and spacious. Breakfast spread was great. However, the shower head water pressure was too low for us. We wish that it could be stronger. 😊

It was my pleasure to stay overnight at Holiday Inn Nanjing South station, since it’s a start of my journey and I needed to relax and had a good sleep before moving further on my way. I’d like to share one thing about my room experience. It turned out that it’s not possible to switch on a hanging light above the table when general light is switched off. I believe this would be beneficial to add one more lighting zone in the room. The same problem is at the tea zone, it’s not lit when general light is switched off. Also, I was thinking to order some light meal in the room, but couldn’t find the menu, which is apparently supposed to be available for guests. Apart from things I’ve mentioned, this place left only good memories. Location: unbeatable, 10 min. walking from the South station. Front desk: English speaking staff; Room: clean and spacious; Surroundings: the hotel is located in a super modern area, designed by an European architect;

If you travel by train in and out of Nanjing, the location can’t be beat. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the south exit of the train station. They advertise a shuttle if you don’t want to walk but it doesn’t start until 8:30 am which is silly and for my purposes makes the shuttle mostly useless. The hotel itself is new and as can be expected, everything is nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The service is sort of hit or miss. The front desk people seemed to be very good. The service in the bar and restaurant was lacking. Many of the employees seemed to not know what they were doing. Service in China is pretty terrible in general and these people were a good example of typical Chinese service. Hotel WIFI was good so that was a huge plus. The difference between a good hotel and a great hotel is in the details and execution. This is a good hotel. The service execution was not consistently acceptable and several details were missing. For example, there’s no room service menu in the room.

第一次住宿南京喜馬拉雅假日酒店，離南京高鐵南站很近、走路也會到，交通方便之外，酒店周圍是新開發區，都是新建的辦公大樓及住宅區，所以環境新穎整潔。酒店本身也很新，建築外型很有特色，好像是去年才開幕，房間的設計及設備也都很新，住起來很舒適。一樓的酒吧的啤酒很好喝。

Good hotel in a good location for travel. We were lucky and got an upgraded to a suite each. As a western chain I'd expect more in terms of food selection. The western food is fine if you are a meat eater, if not then you really are limited and forget the room service menu. We asked the staff if they could help us try to find a delivery service and as much as had a quick go they couldn't find anything. Nanjing has some great food but you won't find it at the Holiday Inn. We've yet to try the breakfast buffet so I'll update once we have.
