Es ist ein absolut atemberaubender Ort. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb, aber das ist perfekt zum entspannen von dem Trubel in Kandy. Das ganze Team war einfach wunderbar. Super hilfsbereit, sie haben mit unseren Kindern gespielt und sich gekümmert. Wir haben uns wirklich wie zuhause gefühlt.

Vimal looked after us very well. He made us lovely breakfast. The rooms were really clean and the view was fabulous.

It was a place surrounded by beautiful views of Victory Reservoir. A very quiet place with supportive staff and good food. We enjoyed our time, and all our needs were provided, including Wi-Fi, which worked.

There is no facility available to make a settlement with a credit card. I had to go to Teldeniya town to get money from an ATM to settle my bill. Also, after settling the bill, the manager, before we left, informed us that the items (two bottles of drink and a packet of peanuts) in the mini fridge we had used were not included in the bill; therefore, we had to pay for them. We were quoted another Rs.500. I assumed they were complimentary but I was told it was not.

Makes you feel like the king and queen of the castle! Most beautiful setting we have been in sri lanka. Very quiet but for birdsounds. The view of the lake is so peaceful. Very luxurious rooms for very good price. The food is tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. Staff is very friendly. Would have liked to stay here longer.

Overall, our experience did not meet our expectations due to the misleading advertising and the lack of amenities, such as comfortable seating areas, from which to enjoy the property and its surroundings.

This place its not clean and very dirty

I had a truly unforgettable stay at this property. The location is stunning, situated right in front of a tranquil lake and surrounded by inspiring nature that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The architecture of the hotel is a work of art—unique and beautiful at every turn. What truly brought this stay to life was the incredible staff. My bad i forgot this incredible staffs name who took care of us. He is the Best. They didn't just provide service; they provided genuine connection. Whether it was a warm greeting by name each morning or their intuitive ability to anticipate what I needed before I even asked, their presence made the property feel 'living' rather than just a building.They shared local stories, offered thoughtful recommendations, and checked in with a sincerity that is rare to find. It’s that human touch—that feeling of being seen and cared for—that transformed a great vacation into a deeply personal and memorable experience. They are the heartbeat of this hotel. If you are looking for peace and a connection with nature, this is the perfect place. I can't wait to return!"

We took the suite on an upgrade offer and it was stunning. The views of the lake were superb. The room was as spacious and tastefully decorated with a great bathroom. The location was very quiet about 30 mins from central Kandy and 2 hour from Knuckles which was ideal for us. The food was excellent with a generous breakfast and good dinner options. Finally the staff were amazing, genuinely kind, attentive and helpful.

The light switches were a bit puzzling but we got the hang of them after one night.

Außergewöhnlich schöne Lage und sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber, die sich unglaublich bemühen, einen schönen Aufenthalt zu bereiten. Im See kann man wunderbar baden. Auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert zum Entspannen auf der Reise. Wir haben von hier aus schöne Ausflüge in die Knuckle Mountains und zum Rangala Natural Pool gemacht.

A beautiful building in lovely surroundings with the lake on 3 sides. Great bedroom, fantastic shower, and a balcony in the trees with birds and chipmunks in the branches. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was super. The reception rooms were lovely with views of the lake.

This is advisory and not that we didn’t like it, but it is located down a single track lane, with sharp turns and slopes. Some drivers wouldn’t come down it so needed the manager to organise a TukTuk.

Lovely staff. Amazing views. Ridiculous price. Great breakfast. Right in the heart of nature.

The road leading up is narrow. So be prepared. But almost all jungle properties are similar. It’s why the Views are so spectacular.

La struttura è davvero meravigliosa. Sebbene la strada per raggiungerla sia un po’ complicata in realtà il disagio viene ripagato dalla bellezza del luogo. Le camere sono spaziose e con vetrate bellissime verso l’esterno. La sala comune è unica nel suo genere poiché la casa è incastonato dentro una roccia. Il cibo è delizioso e i gestori lo sono altrettanto. Gentilissimi, molto disponibili e davvero affabili.

The property was very good, nicely maintained and had a rustic charm. Surrounded by lake and greenery. Food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. One the best place in Kandy!

Liked everything

It's not a conventional hotel or resort. We saw at least 20 species of birds including Srilankan Grey Hornbill (they wake you up by knocking on your window). We enjoyed the lake, reflections of mountains on water and the stuff is wonderful.

It's a little understaffed.

Mooie plek met een prachtig uitzicht. Vriendelijk personeel, lekker ontbijt en goede cappuccino.

Houd er rekening mee dat het écht in de middle of nowhere is, en dat je er alleen met een tuk-tuk kunt komen.

The staff was amazing, they make sure that you are well taken care , prepared specially vegetarian breakfast fast with large spread. Night was wonderful with bonfire and some fire crackers . Best value for money

The Lake view

Geweldige locatie. De mooiste tijdens ons verblijf in Sri Lanka. Mooi uitzicht, fijn hotel, Personeel uitstekend en iedere avond maakte ze een kampvuur voor ons. Avondeten brachten ze naar ons terras, we logeerde in de suite met uitzicht op het meer. Je zag continu diertjes/vogels waar je ook keek. Een belevenis! Onze chauffeer kon er niet komen met zijn auto maar ze belde tuktuk voor ons of brachten ons zelf naar de hoofdweg.

My wife and i stayed here for one night for our honeymoon because the location looked beautiful and the reviews seemed promising. We originally booked a Deluxe Double Room but decided to upgrade to the Suite. We also, asked if something special can be done since it was our honeymoon, even something small like some fruits or even a slice of cake. But, the manager explained it was too late of a request even though we checked in around 6pm. That's also somewhat understandable. Before check-in, the manager informed us that no dinner could be ordered since we were the only guests and the cook had been sent home. This was also understandable, and we simply brought some dinner from a nearby restaurant before check in. However, issues began when the manager offered us a 15% discount for the Suite. The confirmed total price through Booking.com was USD 117 “out the door.” for the suite. Naturally, we expected the 15% discount to be applied to that amount. Instead, at checkout the manager claimed the room was USD 130 and applied the discount to that higher price, leaving us with a final bill of USD 110 instead of 100 USD. This is not about the $10 difference we have tipped people more than that for good service—it is about the misleading approach. Guests should be able to trust that pricing is transparent. The manager should also be more familiar with how Booking.com pricing works, rather than dismissing it with “we don’t know anything about Booking.com charges.” This creates unnecessary confusion. Breakfast was another disappointment. Even though it was tasty. The manager specifically told us it would be ready by 8:30 a.m., yet he had not even informed the cook. We had to go and ask the cook ourselves when breakfast could be prepared, and it was finally served around 10:00 a.m. This is not acceptable, especially when guests are relying on timely service and our check out time was 11am.

Wow!! Location, views, quality to the bed, bathrooms and hosting. So amazing with a campfire in the evening.

Secluded, right next to the lake and as Rakinda very kindly showed me, you can walk directly from the hotel down into the freshwater lake for a very pleasant swim. Beautiful surroundings, calm water.

Everything was amazing. We stayed in the suite, it was so beautiful, huge room and terrace with amazing views! The pictures don’t do justice to this place, it is way more beautiful. Our kids stayed in a normal room, it was small but comfortable and clean. The staff is simply wonderful, always ready do help and always kind and happy. The food was really, really good.

The room and the bathroom were not properly cleaned.The cupboard was stacked with dusty bedcovers and there were mattresses stacked under the bed.We were wondering whether it was because we were local travellers since the place had such good ratings from foreign travellers.

What a treat, beautiful location on the shores of the Victoria Dam. Peaceful, serene and a great escape from the bustle of larger towns, like Kandy. Super comfortable bed, sitting area and external balcony. Excellent wifi. Great bathroom with plenty of hot water and very good pressure. A highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Wimaladharma. His attention to our wishes, and his eagerness to help with any advice was greatly appreciated. In particular, his settings for breakfast and dinner were amazing, thoughtful and very special. Nothing was too much trouble for him during our stay and we felt very spoilt. A walk to the local town is highly recommended, we were the only tourists around and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.

Perhaps some minor updating to the property would be timely.

getting here might be a bit difficult as the road is quite bumpy and not properly maintained. the road can be bit narrow too. That was the only thing that should be improved.

The green Castle has one of the most beautiful views in the world and by far the best we saw in Sri Lanka. It is small family run business to a very high standards. Unfortunately we only had one night at the hotel. We were treated to the most amazing dinner which were superb. The food kept coming and to be honest we didn't do it justice. The room was amazing and beautiful decorated out. Breakfast was again equally delicious as dinner with more than enough food to feed and army. Greetings to the hotel was and experience - our guide was unsure our vehicle would manage the terrain so he contacted the hotel and Randika met us to ensure we were okay. I strongly recommended if you visit Sri Lanka and in the kandy area make a point of staying at this hotel - You won't be disappointed

De lobby was kil en sfeerloos. Overal felwitte spaarlampen. Slechte acoustiek zoals in een grot. De suite was groot en met gigantische terrassen met zicht al om. Het bed was van goede kwaliteit. De afwerking van de suite liet te wensen over. Er waren overweldigend veel knoppen voor de verlichting (wederom witte spaarlampen). De afwerking kon beter. Geen kitranden, losse wandcontactdozen, losse deurslot. Het bad werd niet warm genoeg. We hebben bijgevuld met de waterkoker. Het diner was een fiasco. Geen gezellige sfeer en doodstil in het huis. Het eten was niet lekker. We konden er wel om lachen maar het was niet zoals we onze romantische Valentijnsdag hadden voorgesteld.
