The staff and the hot springs
Some mould growing in the bathroom, a bunch of the amenities weren’t working like the restaurant and cold plunge pool
Our location to the pool was excellent
The resort is in total disrepair. Evestrough falling off and running onto our balcony . Bathroom sink is cracked, furniture is old with finish worn off. Doors all squeak, bathroom door falling apart. Pool deck was never cleaned off, inside of pool was dirty. Cold plunge was closed, only 1 sauna working. And on top of all that, the restaurants were all closed. We requested an early arrival, showed up at 330 and our room wasn't ready. The bed was comfortable. Hopefully repairs will be made.
Hot pools.
I had a rather disappointing experience at the Fairmont Hot Springs. I've been to the hotel three times before, and everything was fine. But this time, everything went wrong. I booked a room for four. The room smelled of cigarettes, despite the signs everywhere prohibiting it. The bathroom ventilation didn't work. The toilet was leaking around the perimeter. Besides shampoo and conditioner, no shower gel or soap were provided. The cleaning boy promised to find something and bring it, but never returned. Furthermore, there were only two robes (for hot pool visits) in the room. The front desk agent said that, due to wildfires, by government order, to conserve water, they do not provide additional robes beyond those already in the room. Trying to explain that these weren't extras, but rather missing ones for two other guests, got me nowhere. Why did I pay for a stay for four people but not receive all the benefits? Ironically, there were four pool towels provided, which is the exact same amount of towels and robes I previously received when staying at your hotel as a party of two. This proves that no adjustments were made to accommodate our larger group. The room had two double beds, but the sockets were hidden inside, behind the mattresses (see photo), i.e., initially the room had one bed, on both sides of which there were sockets.
Location
Needs renovation
Nice pools, friendly staff, good bar.
A little bit updated and main areas like corridors carpets not clean
Location
I had to wait for my pre paid room to be ready. Arriving at the resort after 6pm. The front desk phone doesn't work, or they choose to not answer. The restaurant ( bear paw lounge) also does not answer their phones I called to place an order over a dozen times finally walking to the restaurant to place my order. Expecting it to be busy I was suprised when I walked in seeing inly 4 people and staff just standing around. Very disappointing after my 14hr drive. Resort staff very rude and unorganized. I work in the hospitality industry for over 14 years very disappointed in my stay. Will not be back.
Lovely setting. Nice staff.
Only one pool was functioning. The private pools and large public pool were out of service. This was a birthday trip request for my 80 year old mother. I felt the property was very outdated and the fact that the pools were closed made me regret booking. I paid a lot of money because of the hot springs pools. They were basically unavailable.
The resort was very loud. Music blasting in the pool area, definitely not relaxing. Children were loud, unsupervised and both large pools were packed with kids from the moment they opened until closing- suggestion- please have an hour of adults only Rooms also unkept, really in need of a refresh. The toiletries provided in the rooms are non existent, lucky to get one use out of the tiny bar of soap provided. Microwave is found in the hallway for guests to warm up food . We have been 3 times to this resort and over the past few years have found it going downhill.
This was an awful vacation I took it over Canadian thanksgiving last year with my 6 month old baby and my husband. They didn't have enough towels in the entire place so there were no towels at the hot springs and when we asked for some we were told that they didn't have enough and "needed to order more". We had to ration our towels and use the bathroom towels at the pools. Because of this I spent the whole stay kind of damp because I had to use my already wet pool towel to dry myself after showering. Paint peeling on the ceiling, old fixtures, advertised they would supply a pack and play for our child to sleep in but it didn't have a base so he was meant to sleep on the plastic bars I guess? poor noise control in the entire place, wouldn't let us check in 15 mins early and when we returned after eating the line to check in was 40 minutes long. Food was oily and inedible. I would have been able to excuse it if it was a cheap hotel but this is a resort.
We ordered the family platter for breakfast which was decent value and excellent. The staff in the Antlers restaurant were awesome! The beds were comfortable.
Overall the resort has gone downhill since my last visit 10 years ago. Cleanliness of the room not great. Hot pool had black stuff floating in it. Life guards were trying to fish it out. Hotel guest pool was out of service. Grassy area by the pool was in poor condition and dug up in one spot. Miss the diving boards. Poolside restaurant was not clean. Staff were not attentive or thoughtful. Poor service. Food was mediocre and poor value.
The hotel hasn’t been touched for 20+ years. You can see some old grandeur but everything is super worn and dirty. Even the stairs which are a stone tile, have indents from how many people have walked them. None of the hikes are maintained and they shut down the second half of the mini golf course. The yard and florals looked in significantly worse condition then we we last came a few years ago.
Quick positives: the scenery is beautiful, the pools are fun, our four-year-old had a good time. With that out of the way: this place is barely functional as a hotel. When you check in, you are completely on your own. There is no housekeeping. If you call and ask for basic housekeeping, you will be told that it is coming - and they never send anybody. The front desk is completely unresponsive. I had to walk into the maintenance closet myself to grab clean coffee mugs and a vacuum to tidy up my own room. Don't expect anyone to come around and make your bed or take your dishes, even if you ask for it. Paint is peeling everywhere, carpet is from 30+ years ago, the facility is run down and beaten up and it doesn't seem like management cares. Non-pool amenities are either run down or non-operational. Both restaurants on site are wildly overpriced with mediocre food. They have cut corners everywhere in this facility and the decline in the last 12 months is noticeable - our summer 2026 stay was notably worse than our summer 2025 stay (I doubt we'll be back ever again.) You are paying luxury resort prices for a Motel 6 experience.
This hotel was most likely great in it’s day. I first stayed here 20 years ago and the rooms were outdated then. And they are extremely outdated/worn/disgusting/not clean now. We were a party of 6, we booked as a party of 6. The room we got had 3 plates and 3 forks, and 5 glasses. We only planned to eat breakfast in our room (toast) so I guess we could share plates, and use the fork to butter the toast but the toaster was broken. The mini fridge struggled to keep our water bottles slightly cool. The bathrooms are disgusting and the painted grout doesn’t cover the mold. Dull, dingy lighting, most likely so you can’t see all the disgust. As I mentioned a party of 6 but the room had 4 towels and 2 robes. Yes we were able to get more towels but some attention to detail on our booking would have been nice. The pools are ok, also dated. The beds are doubles and uncomfortable. The price for the room was a premium so if you choose to book here just know you are paying for the beautiful mountain views and the hot springs because the rooms are the worst. As a comparison we paid the same price to stay in Revelstoke BC. (Same week- 3 days at each place) It was a brand new spacious two bedroom apartment with a fabulous view of the mountains. Next time I will trade the hot springs for a longer stay in Revelstoke.
We really enjoyed our stay. there was a lot for the kids to do. The room wasn't as clean as we would of hoped and the food was more expensive than what we were expecting. but over all it was a good stay!
food pricing, the restaurants were closed our first night there and every restaurant near the resort was packed with people. our room had hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub upon arrival. we stayed 4 nights our room wasnt cleaned in that time or towels changed.
Beautiful, clean room. Quiet setting. A/C was working. Access to meals on site. Mineral pools and cold plunge/sauna were a huge bonus.

I’m about to travel here in a few days. I’ve been calling and trying to reach the resort and nobody answers! I half expect to roll up and find it haunted by ghosts… can anyone tell me if they have bbq pits to use and if so where? Can anyone help me make a spa reservation? Lol. It’s funny how the reservation is online and no one is at the hotel. Maybe hotels are the new Airbnb? Do I have to bring my own toilet paper? Or my own water? Plus, the smoke due to fires is building up. What’s the air quality like there right now? Hmmm
It was a good experience, my family enjoyed our stay and we love the pools. However, the keurig coffee maker is dirty, we did not use it. The oven is not working properly.
Amazing resort! Comfortable beds and super clean. We ate at the Bearspaw lbar and grille 3 nights in a row because the food and service were super fantastic!!!! We'll definitely be back😁
Nature around was amazing, the restaurants were great too.
It needs some renovations or upgrades in the rooms. Very old and not well cared enough.
The food was fantastic, the air conditioning was a life saver, and of course the pools were top notch.
The beds were quite uncomfortable and the room was very outdated for the price paid.
We were completely disappointed with this run down resort. The outrageous price for an average room was the 1st let down. The balconies were small, old uncomfortable chairs, no umbrella, no dividers between the suites, that are very close. Our view was the patio for the pub, not the pool as advertised. The pools are average nothing special and crowded. The walls are thin we could hear the conversations next door. The ice machine kept us up most of the night making loud noises. Then woken in the morning with a screaming baby next door. No entertainment on site. 1 restaurant only opened at breakfast closed at dinner? The pub was open. There is not much around either a store and restaurant down by the highway . We should have went to Radium instead. A whole town with great scenery and things to do. More choices etc. Overall, we did NOT like our stay!
Not much we were very disappointed.
Overpriced and outdated. Run down facilities, crowded pools, noisy in room. Old uncomfortable chairs on desk. No activities on site. Cost is not worth it!
Fairmont Hot Springs is a great place to vacation however the resort has some needed upgrades that are very apparent. The hot springs pool is the obvious draw but it is lacking. They used to have a diving board in the deep pool but have not had any for a number of years. No slide, no rope - nothing. They need to appeal to more families by upgrading their facilities. The pools them selves are fine but need attention as they are getting well worn from constant use. (walls and edges and bottoms). As for the grounds I am amazed how little regard they spend on things like making sure the grass area is groomed and well kept. There were dirt clumps and rocks from a construction project, dog poop in the grass area, the grass area was not very nice (dead grass needed water or irrigation which looked like it has been turned off at pool level and down below at campground. Not sure if broken or budget cuts but definitely makes a difference when wanting curb appeal or just to lay out on grass. As for the hotel rooms - they look like something from 1960 - 1970. I have never been to a resort that has not upgraded at some point. This resort refuses to put any money into renovating rooms. We have gone every year and they are more and more dated with NO upgrades whatsoever. The wall plug ins wouldn't even hold a phone charger they are so old and dated. The lamps, wall paper, flooring, ceiling, kitchenettes, and amenities in room are not worth the expensive price you pay for a RESORT. What are the resort fees going to I would ask when they are in this state of disregard? I have gone every year because my family has done so out of tradition but it is the worst place we have stayed amongst any we have ever been to. Could they not put some money into upgrading one wing at a time? The fridge had a big sign stating OUT OF ORDER. The luxury is just being close to the pool. That's it folks. If you like to walk to the pool and back multiple times then this is for you. There is no other draw to stay there. The other amenities like tennis courts, mini golf, trail rides, etc are all needing attention as well. The restaurants serve great food though if you can stomach the price tag that comes with it. The new ownership (Aldesta) hotels needs to pump in a great deal of money to upgrade this resort. However, as long as they continue to keep full hotels and people keep coming it will remain status Quo. The money keeps rolling in but nothing ever gets upgraded. Some would be shocked by the state of the rooms for $400 a night. I stayed in the Juniper suites which is just away from lodge close to pool. If these are newer than 1970 I would be surprised. Beds are comfy and rooms are clean but other than that it is going downhill quickly.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The property offered a large amount of activities.
The pool needed a lot of repairs. Sharp edges were spotted along the sides. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the ceiling fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the paint was peeling as well.
I liked the soft bed, soft pillows, the towels and robes, good airconditioning, sound proofing, proximity to pools, the restaurants and coffee shop, and the location.
I didn't like that no one was answering the phone. I was calling the front desk many times on July 9, 10, 11 during office hours about my booking, but it was only ringing and no one was answering. Also, the lamp shades were a bit dusty and the bar soap was very tiny for 3 people for 2 nights.
I liked the room we were staying in. It was close to the pool, we could also use the backyard where we played outside.
The hotel needs a bit of an upgrade as it I looks really run down and old. The baseboards are falling apart, the carpets are 20 years old. For the amount you pay for a room, it would be great if the hotel renew their interior.
The RV sites have a stunning location with views of the mountains. The pool & hot springs were extremely busy. There were plenty of lifeguards but they were pretty relaxed about enforcing the rules. We had 2 meals from Antlers restaurant which was expensive. The site was clean. Not much to do except the pool, unless you’re a golfer!
Nice hot pool. Nice surrounding area
The computer system was not functioning so the restaurants were closed. The front desk leader was less than helpful. Passers by could look directly into the room.
★★☆☆☆ We recently stayed at the Fairmont cabins, and while the pool facilities were excellent and the location is beautiful, we were disappointed with the overall experience. We definitely didn't feel welcomed when we arrived. It seems that management is no longer paying close attention to housekeeping and routine maintenance. The cabin clearly wasn't properly prepared or inspected before our arrival, which was disappointing and took away from what could have been a great stay. There were several maintenance and housekeeping issues: No salt in the kitchen, even though it's a basic cooking staple. Three of the four bathroom light bulbs were burned out. Dead flies inside a bedroom light fixture. The bathroom exhaust fan was very dirty. The BBQ was greasy and hadn't been cleaned. The dishwasher was still full of dishes when we arrived. The cabin information stated that 4 robes and 4 pool towels were provided, but there were no robes in the cabin. To make matters worse, we had to make two separate trips to the front desk to get the robes. They weren't provided when we checked in, and even after our first request, they still weren't delivered, so we had to go back again. The location and pool are wonderful, but the lack of attention to basic cleanliness, maintenance, and guest readiness made this a disappointing stay. We hope management takes these concerns seriously, as this property has the potential to provide a much better experience.
Cool pools but quite over crowded. The mini golf was great. The room was spacious.
Too many people in the pools because it was open to the public. The hotel itself was a little dated.
Location- fantastic, amazing views, wildlife everywhere as you would want in the mountains, great walks,. Atmosphere- we stayed in the RV park however were made more then welcome in the hotel bar and grounds. Rooms- we stayed in the RV park which had great facilities, great views and polite staff! Couldn’t ask for more. Value- the price was great for what’s available, the pools, gym, steam/sauna and even mini golf. Food/drinks- we ate in the hotel restaurant, perfection, the food was perfect and service great! We will be back for longer next time!
The pool, and kitchenette, the people and location.
It’s not clean.
Room was terrible, looked right on to parking lot and people walked by looking in, absolutely no privacy. Our room wasn’t ready until late afternoon. The hotel is very rundown and in desperate need of renovations. The hotel pool was the only bright spot of the experience.
I have to commend Hala who works at the cafe - we were here for 1 night with our 2 young daughters and she was so kind to them and they wanted to visit her over and over! This resort is so charming, we stay at luxury hotels several times a year and for families - sometimes the retro, relaxed vibe provides more of a special experience. I love how it isn’t renovated or extremely brand new, it keeps it fun! Staff is 10/10 and the lifeguards at the pool are extremely attentive.
The hotsprings themselves are nice but the facility had no drinking water station. It's a pool and a hotsprings, yet they did not have a water fountain. I actually thought drinking fountains were mandatory in swimming pools, so not sure what is going on there. It would be nice to see the resort spend some money on the resort. The washrooms, changerooms could use some tending to.
Very expensive activities. Views are tremendous.
It’s nice and quiet the grounds are nice but there is a lot of wear and tear. Looks like someone doesn’t want to spend money on upkeep.
Looks like a lot of things are in disrepair. It’s still nice but it could be so much nicer looking and unique, like the tennis court without a net etc.
FHSR is looking a little old now. We stayed in a room with peeling wallpaper and an ugly 1970s bathroom on top of a set of grotty, crumbling steps. The facilities are genrally good, although the steam room / sauna area was again looking tired (and the steam room was out of order). You have a private hot pool and free access to the larger public ones, and the private pool was clean and well maintained, as are the grounds, and I'd say the breakfasts were pricy but good. So, on track for four stars. However, mid week there is nowhere to eat apart from the "Bear's Paw" pub. The two meals we had there were so incredibly bad that I don't really know where to begin. The Pad Thai was cooked with sweet and sour sauce (wtf?, no Thai spices present at all), and my buffalo chicken pizza ("Volcano") was bland boiled chicken with mild tomato sauce and a big squeeze of mayonaisse. An inexperienced and unimaginative bar chef should doom a hotel, but this is the only place M-Th that you can eat at FHSR, and it was apparent from their reaction that the wait staff got a lot o complaints. Would I visit again? Maybe. Would I eat there? Absolutely not. Never. It was that bad,
An oldie but still a goody!!.. The resort is showing it's age but still a worthy stop-over in the Columbia valley. The resort is very comfortable ~ a nice alternative to one of the many leftover, sterile Condos scattered throughout the Fairmont area. Surprisingly, we found their 'Bears Paw' offerings both tasty and reasonably priced... a rarity in the travel industry lately!
Chairs on our balcony required cushioning... we used our pillows! Didn't find the Hotsprings as warm/hot as we expected/wanted.
Clean hotel with friendly staff. Great location and loved the extra time available to guests at the hot springs
Rooms are badly in need of an update. The decor is mid 1980's
Great hot springs pool, location, and food.
Visiting from Ontario to celebrate my best friend getting married. Booked and paid full online. Was contacted that my room would be changed and have multiple emails confirming reservation and room change price. When arriving at check-in desk, was told I could not be helped by staff and a supervisor had to come sort out what to do. I was moved to a villa and was charged again for the villa. Upon checkout, I spoke with 2 staff members on why I was charged for both the room and the villa and they said refunds were to be sent out. I was then told they would contact me that day to confirm and have still yet to be contacted (3 days later). Hoping this will help get staff to reach out and fix their mistakes.
Location
It’s definitely outdated. Restaurants were closed a night and only pub available for supper. Hour and half waiting time
We booked a massage for me and my wife. I booked a deep tissue session for me and a relaxation session for my wife. Jennifer was amazing. She was very proficient at both types of massage. She has an ability to feel and alleviate stress points in your body. The massage comes with a complimentary pass to the hot springs on site. After the spa and hot spring visit we had a very nice supper at the restaurant in the hotel. All in all a very enjoyable day.
We enjoyed the hot spring pool. It was great that we were able to use the pool with a pool pass even after we checked out.
Location is good With hot spring pool
Too old renovations needs to up date Pillow should be through away not good for use any more
This place is clearly past its prime. The rooms are dumpy and old and way overpriced for what you get. Mother's day breakfast buffet was $600.00 for 6 seniors, 2 adults and a child. expensive and very mediocre. Long weekend coming up and the pool is closed for maintenance. I remember 15 years ago when this place was upper class, it's on motel 6 level now......sad really.
Decent size room, clean and many amenities on site, including access to the hot pools.
Privante guests hot pool was closed for maintenance, and so were the indoor soak pools. Outdoor hot pool broke down the morning of our stay :(
You don’t get it, you are fools, and you are now in receivership
I love this place; I come here often.
We have been coming to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort for many years now, usually in the Spring to celebrate our anniversary or my husband’s birthday. Every year the place gets a little more run down. Some examples…broken tiles and concrete in and around the guest pool, steam room out of order, no USB plug ins in the rooms, ripped shower curtains, stained lampshades and curtains, wall sockets that fall out when you plug something in, cracked and chipped coffee mugs, old carpets, etc. We had no soap in the bathroom and no water bottles in the fridge. The grounds are very beautiful and well kept. However, we did not appreciate the groundskeepers mowing the lawn at 7am-11am. It spoiled our peaceful relaxation time. The next morning, while we were enjoying our quiet time in the guest pool, the groundskeepers pulled up next to the pool in their golf cart and started throwing rocks into the back of their cart…again disrupting our peaceful morning. I suggest these loud activities be done after 11am. We want to enjoy the quiet morning listening to the sounds of nature, not the banging of boulders into a metal cart or louder lawn mowers. On my husband’s 65th birthday, we went to get our breakfast (which was included in our package) and they said the kitchen was down…no power. Disappointing. All they could offer us was yogurt, muffins and fruit. We declined and the front desk did reimbursed us $50. The price to stay at this resort (in the condition it’s in) is a bit off putting. Hopefully the owners are planning to do some improvements and not run it into the ground. That would be a real shame.
Great location, relaxing atmosphere, ok rooms but overpriced, extra fees charged which is equivalent to pool fees. The resort is old and looking tired, maintenance is needed on all wooden parts. Some pf the doors and furniture a little rough around the edges. Noisy neighbors after hours, not soundproof. Plunge pools and steam room out of service. Reception staff amazing.
Clean and comfortable
It is the best location, close to pools
Dirty rooms
Great place to stay and take a break of you are on a hiking or skiing adventure. Staff is great. Place is clean and neat.
DONT GO! A total DUMP. DANGEROUS TOO! New owners let it get horribly run down n non functioning. Worst hotel experience of my life!
Before we even got there we were informed that my friends support animal was not allowed because she wasn't BC approved. Of course, being from out of province, there was no way to get her approved, nor any advise as to how to go about it. We also were not informed in time to find a caregiver for the animal so one of my friends was unable to attend at all. It was also made very clear that emotional support animals are never allowed as if mental health isn't as important as physical health. We were told to check in at the main lodge if we arrived at certain times, which we did. We were informed that we could check in at 11:00. After driving for nearly 12 hours? waiting was not an option and I told the receptionists that. They finally checked us in and actually had all our information on hand. Then our keys didn't work. There was no staff on until 9:00, so again a lodge maintenance person had to drive over to help us. He was very kind. The next morning my friend went to have a swim in the pool and the keys didn't work. Frankly, it seeems that the "welcoming" staff could use a course on hospitality. The week went well for the most part as we didn't have to interact with staff. When we were going to drop off our keys (no checking out as checkout time is 10:00 and staff arrive at 11:00) it was a better story. We asked one of the cleaning staff where the garbage was to go. She was very nice and told us not to worry about it as they would take care of it. This is a beautiful facility that only needs some of the staff to have some training. It would also be helpful if maps of the immediate area were available as staff also were unable to give me clear directions and there was not much signage to the facility.
This was our 25th visit to Fairmont. Check in slow. big line up and two people checking people in at 4:00pm. When we got to our room in the Juniper Lodge it was still in the process of being cleaned. Sat outside for 15 minutes while they vacuumed etc. Not impressed after a long day of travel.
We are about to check out and had to share that this place is wonderful. We loved the pools and beautiful view from our second floor room. Bear paw restaurant has great service and delicious food and drinks. The rooms are very clean and the bed super comfortable. Pools did not disappoint. We did the couples retreat with Jennifer at the spa and it was the best massage I have ever experienced. We also had our first mud bath :) April is definitely a great time to come as shoulder season enables us to always have space in the pools and lots of choices for tables at the restaurants. We will be back next year.
It was a nice quiet getaway for us and the weather was amazing for this time of year.
Just a bit run down but still great.
The pool area was fine although it needs a good cleaning.(It says it will happen next month) We booked a king suite with a jacuzzi tub. The tub leaked, I used the towels to clean the water and a bit of water got on the carpet. The towels quickly stained yellow from the dirty carpets. I managed to clean all the towels by running them under hot water. There were also cobwebs all around the tub. For $496 I’d be ashamed to take people’s money. We checked out at 10 pm. The bed had dust up by the headboard and it just didn’t feel clean. I emailed them and received a response thanking me for being it to their attention. Also, the food was meh. 😒

The Value and Family Friendly Environment!
Rooms and facilities could use some updating/maintenance.
We book a room for 4 breakfast included. I even call at 3:19 pm and asked why just 2 vouchers … same answer kids no need vouchers! The hotel give us 2vouchers for the adults and they said Kids no need the voucher is free. Second morning the Antlers restaurant charge us for the kids.
Clean, comfy and quiet with great views
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
We have just returned from Fairmont, and the pools were wonderful. Our bathroom definitely needs an upgrade . The beds and pillows were very comfortable, bed would have been easier to make every morning if the bottom sheet were fitted. Haven't seen flat sheets for years. The furniture on the bottom floor were very worn, looked like the same furniture that was there probably at least 25 years ago, when we last stayed there. What made our stay the most enjoyable was Ilhies, our waiter in the Bear and Claw. He was efficient, quick, and since there were few people one time he was very enjoyable to talk to. Even though it was spring break and there were quite a few children at the resort our room was quiet.
Spa experience with Jen was excellent, the staff were very good and the food in the pub was great, buffet breakfast was not great and no other breakfast options onsite. The facility is generally quite run down and there seems to be little pride of ownership here. Don’t look under the beds…..disgusting! Ripped bench seats covered with duct tape in the pub; come on folks, you can do better!! It wouldn’t take much to bring this place back, please make it a priority!! We won’t be back unless we see evidence of some commitment to upgrading this facility.
Hot springs
The biggest issue was the restaurant — it honestly felt borderline scammy. They charge extra for things like calamari sauce and gravy for fries, but don’t tell you when you order and it’s not listed on the menu either. You only find out when the bill comes. That kind of hidden fee is really not okay and leaves a bad taste overall.
The staff was friendly
There's a lot of foot travel between the two pool locations so when it's cold and you are wet you are a popsicle by the time you get from one pool to the other. A kid threw up in the pool closest to the lodge so I did not get to soak in that pool when I got to it I was also disappointed in my hotel room because there was hair in the sheets and brown streaks on the sheets that looks like it could have been feces and hair in the bathtub and the tub did not drain quickly. Also for the price I paid I did not even get a continental breakfast I've stayed at cheaper hotels that have included Continental breakfasts. Also the pools are treated with chlorine which I would not have stayed had I known this I was looking for natural minerals for a soothing experience instead I just went there for a hot bleach bath.

Very rundown and overpriced with poor service and amenities. Cabins were run down and nothing like the last timesss we were there. It was our favorite spot for years. No diving board and fun activities like before. Staff were ahard to find and not very forth coming. Food was average and expensive. We won't be going back and cancelled our reservations for this year and we won't be going back. We should get have our money for the poor time we had. Not a very family friendly place anymore.
If you are skiing Fairmont Ski Resort, this is a great overnight. The location is great, the hot springs are convenient but it is in need of some TLC. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. The shower curtain in our room was torn at the top and the bathroom door had some wood missing on the back side. This resort definitely gets used by hockey teams/kids, so be aware. The kids were all respectful, but with kids comes noise, so if you are good with that, stay here. The hot springs for guests has a private pool area. The larger pool area is where most of the kids went. There are two restaurants and a cafe on the property. The Bear Paw is worth checking out if you like Indian food, as they have an Indian chef and the Butter Chicken rivaled any I've had overseas! They also had a dinner special of wild caught walleye. The atmosphere at the Bear Paw is pub like and a convenient place to grab dinner and a beer, as there isn't alot of choice in Fairmont Hot Springs (the town).
If you enjoy paying for a sleepless night and not receiving any follow-through from a “General Manager” who fails to stand behind his own commitments, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is the place for you. Our stay (Feb 20–22, Room 681) was defined by a loud, late-night party in Room 581 that lasted until 1:00 AM. Despite calling the front desk starting at 11:30 PM, no timely or effective action was taken. It required my physical presence at the desk and a conversation with a supervisor to finally get some peace. Jesse Ferguson, the General Manager, was quick to send a sympathetic email admitting the situation was “unacceptable” and explicitly stating that compensation was “appropriate.” However, as soon as we checked out, further communication with Jesse Ferguson stopped despite multiple follow-up emails. After a couple of follow-ups, the silence is still deafening. It’s quite the transformation: initial reassurance was followed by a complete lack of response once the payment was finalized. It is genuinely embarrassing for a resort to have management that does not take responsibility for resolving an issue already acknowledged as unacceptable. When leadership is this unprofessional, the service is guaranteed to degrade. I hope the compensation that was discussed but never processed helps save the hotel’s declining standards. Advice to travelers: Make sure any promised resolution is finalized before checkout. Once the hotel has your payment, post-stay communication may become extremely difficult.
They upgraded our room for free and we got the honeymoon suite. It was perfect!!
Nothing, I was completely happy.
My family of five traveled from Calgary to visit these hot springs, only to have our trip end within half an hour of us being there. We were in the water for less than 30 minutes before my husband sliced his foot open on a sharp object or defect inside the pool. While the front desk lady was kind enough to provide a bandage, the other staffs response was completely unacceptable. Despite the fact that we had to leave immediately to seek medical attention for an injury caused by their facility, a staff member stepped in and flatly refused to refund our $80 admission fee. It is deeply concerning that a facility would charge a premium price while failing to maintain a safe environment for families. To be met with such dismissive customer service after a personal injury is a significant liability and a massive disappointment. We are currently documenting the injury and the medical treatment required (potential sutures) for our records. I strongly advise others to be cautious of the pool conditions here, as management clearly does not prioritize patron safety or professional accountability. I couldn't image if it were a child..
Always a wonderful stay in the Columbia Valley at Mountain Side. We played indoor sports in the courts, soaked in the hot tubs and Hot Springs, walked the golf course, found enough snow to xcountry ski near Invermere, hiked the Hoodo's and enjoyed relaxing in our spacious, well stocked unit in front of a wood fireplace several evenings. See you again next year!
We love this place and we visit every March for our winter break. We always leave feeling stress free and ready for the remainder of the winter. We love that the resort is pet and budget friendly, staff are great and the rooms clean and 'charming'
awesome hotel, had a great time. but the hockey parents are the worst, i see them writing reviews on here trashing the place but its them that is the problem. it seems that these hockey "parents" are far from actual parents. letting their kids run up and down the hallways knocking on doors and playing hockey in hallways. how about instead of getting drunk and acting like entitled children, you hockey parents actually just be parents and teach your kids how to be respectful. not all hockey groups fit into this but the ones that we had when we stayed were horrible, staying up drinking and playing loud music either in their rooms or in the hallways till 2am keeping everyone else awake. then we watched as staff told them they need to be respectful and keep it quite they argued with them in an aggressive manner. the actual resort 10/10 most hockey groups -1/10 if you cant (or don't want to) be adults and act like such, then stay home and ruin your Neighbors experience instead of mine and everyone else that has come to stay at the resort.
This is an outdated rundown overpriced hotel. When we got there there was only one mug so wife found housekeeping for another one. They said don’t worry we will be here to look after you. Never saw them again for three nights. We had to go to front desk for fresh towels. There was a microwave and fridge and a couple of plates kettle was filthy. Plugs are worn out you plug in and plug falls out so only half useable. Asked for king bed we got a double not even a queen. Squeaky floors above with barking dog not pleasant. If it wasn’t for the pools would have been horrible stay. Pleasant staff.
Location, swimming pools,staff were friendly
It was not room service
If I could give this hotel a negative star I would. I am shouting from the rooftops to tell every person I see how awful this hotel is and advising them to never stay here. This hotel advertises as a place for hockey teams to stay during tournaments however they make it very clear from the moment you go to check in, hockey teams are not welcome. With check in, you are made to sign a giant laundry list of rules essentially telling you the only thing you and your children are allowed to do is sit in your dirty outdated over priced room and quietly watch tv. It gives me the shivers just thinking back on how dirty and gross the rooms were, especially the stained sheets but yet someone is posted in every hall wall at all times pretending, lets emphasis PRETENDING! to clean just to police the lists of rules they have. In addition, to the list of rules you are gifted at check in, you are also given a bright waterpark like wrist band and told to wear it at all times during your stay which serves zero purpose other than so they can easily single you out as part of a team and police your every move a little harder. From the moment you check in, make sure you have your wallet in hand and a deep pocket as the prices are insane. Breakfast? $31 per person for some eggs, bacon and toast. (the rink and cafe by the rink sell a much better one for half the price) Dinner? $30 a person and the food is awful, portions are tiny. Highly recommend going to the grocery store and eating from their grab and go coolers as it will save the bank account and the meal are at least edible. Circling back to the hockey team kids; Children have energy which they need to burn off, it a fact of life. The hotel does not want them playing in the hallways which I completely understand, being respectful of other guests is important. However when you book the entire hotel full of hockey teams, a place for kids to play and burn off said energy would be a given right? Wrong. They allow you only 1 hours a day in the "game room" where kids are allowed to play with their mini sticks and parents are allowed to socialize but don't you dare even think about bringing a travel mug full of "outside" water with you, let alone a beer or you may get kicked out of the hotel. Oh and beware, the $500 "deposit" you pay to book the room for the team to use, it is not a deposit, its a charge they take for the inconvenience for having you there. You can follow every one of their rules, be respectful, quiet, only use the designated areas & they are still going to give you a ridiculous excuse as to why they are keeping it like you have too many people in the room. Every team had this "deposit" kept, not just one so lets be real, its a scam to make extra money. They never planned on giving those funds back to you. My favorite part of my experience here was checking out & seeing this place in my rearview mirror.
We had a great time and the hill was great.
The closeness to the ski hill and the friendly staff was sadly the only good thing of the resort. 1st) Rooms were out dated, not very clean, definitely not sound proof (barking dogs, yelling kids, and squeaking floors above us and beside us) made it not so relaxing and private, being put in a pet room and not told and then having to deal with a family member’s extreme allergic reaction do to this fact! Food on walls, peeling wall paper, blown lights, stained shower curtains and lamp shade heater in bathroom not working place look like it was an 80’s flash back! 2nd) The sauna and hotel hot pool were dirty from floating band-aides, muddy tile floors and garbage everywhere (make sure you wear sandals) and the steam room was not working! 3rd) The hotel restaurants cannot handle the volume of guest as kitchen got backed up and we where turned away for dinner and we where told sorry but we had to find another place to have dinner. So we where left to go off the resort grounds at last minute to find a place to dine! Definitely not worth what they charge
Great family destination for relaxation and rest. Enjoyed tge hot springs pools and ski hill. The restaurant was a good atmosphere to wind down with a good meal
We have been coming Fairmont Hot Springs for over 30 years. We have been through several owners. The current owner is the worst. I have never heard of hotel where you have to request house keeping to be done. I agree with other reviews that unless owners changes philosophy of greed to that of hoteliers, they will have to sell the hotel soon.
Pools were nice but looking a bit worn. Steam room out of order.
No options for eating in Fairmont expect for the resort, which did not have great food or selection
Worst experience ever. Our group has been staying at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort numerous times each winter with large groups for nearly a decade. Since the new owners have taken over, the service has plummeted. This year the Resort reached a new low as our group was consistently harassed by the Hotel Manager Jesse Ferguson. He embarrassed several members of our group by berating them in the pool during the day in front of 30 other hotel guests. When our group returned to the hotel at night he began chasing them around the facility insisting that we were not allowed to congregate in any of the public spaces or in our individual rooms. He suggested that we should all go stand in the parking lot. His condescending tone infuriated almost every person he interacted with. I have never witnessed more unprofessional behaviour from a hospitality industry worker in my entire life. Please note, the only pub at this resort will do last call at 10:30 on a Saturday night. After which, you are not allowed any outside food or drinks anywhere in the resort. Utterly pathetic. See the attached screenshot stating that guests are not allowed to have anything other than clear plastic water bottles when they are by the pool.
A "Hockey Team Friendly" Hotel That Somehow Doesn’t Want Kids, Noise, or… People? I’ve stayed at this hotel for the past three years during hockey season, and every year the experience gets more baffling. At this point, I genuinely don’t understand how a hotel that actively markets itself to hockey teams can also enforce rules that make it nearly impossible for kids to exist or for parents to socialize. Let me be clear: this hotel is full of rigid, inconsistent, and frankly ridiculous rules that create more chaos than they prevent. The hotel expects every guest—kids, parents, entire teams—to be silently locked in their rooms by 10:30pm. Not “quiet hours,” but silent. Meanwhile, all dining and drinking areas shut down by 10:45pm, leaving nowhere for adults to gather and socialize. All children’s play and swimming areas close at 9pm sharp. Again, this is a hotel that hosts multiple hockey teams every winter. Where exactly are dozens of energetic kids supposed to go? Rules Enforced for Some… Not Others The inconsistency is what really pushes this place over the edge. A group of us were singled out for having concealed mugs of tea by the pool—yes, tea—while other guests with their own concealed cups were allowed to continue without issue. It felt arbitrary and targeted. Kids Told Not to Yell, Run, or… Have Fun? Staff repeatedly told kids not to yell, run, or basically behave like kids and were even threatened with $500 room charges if they were caught running or yelling again. At a hockey hotel. During hockey season. It’s unrealistic and creates constant tension between staff and families. A Manager Who Set the Tone — And Not in a Good Way From the moment we arrived, it felt like our team was being singled out. The manager, Jesse, spoke to us in a way that came across as condescending and unnecessarily harsh. His interactions created an atmosphere of tension rather than hospitality. What was even more concerning was how uncomfortable the staff seemed. Several appeared nervous when enforcing rules, almost as if they were doing so out of obligation rather than agreement. The result was a hotel environment that felt less like a family‑friendly destination and more like a place where guests were monitored and corrected rather than welcomed. The parent supervised games room was booked from 8:30–9:30pm for our team and our final game of that day went longer than planned so we didn't get back until later. We learned the group that booked it from 9:30–10:30pm wasn’t even going to show up. When we asked for an extra hour we were flatly refused and told it needed to be booked in advance and that although they had extended teams the previous week with no issues it was now not an option because the General Manager wouldn't allow it. The result? Kids with nowhere to go ended up running the halls and throwing ice at each other (not our team). This was entirely preventable, and the hotel created the problem by refusing to be flexible. When we tried putting our kids in a room to keep them contained, we were almost immediately told they were “too loud” and needed to leave the room or face eviction. So the hotel doesn’t want kids in the halls, doesn’t want them in the pool, doesn’t want them in the games room, and doesn’t want them in their own rooms either. By trying to control every aspect of guest behavior, the hotel actually creates more disruption. Instead of offering reasonable spaces and hours for families, they shut everything down early and then seem shocked when kids have nowhere to go. After three years of giving this hotel the benefit of the doubt, I can confidently say: I won’t be staying here again. The hotel may claim to welcome hockey teams, but their rules, tone, and approach make it clear they don’t actually want kids around—and they certainly don’t want parents to have a place to relax or socialize. Until they rethink their approach, families and teams are better off staying at Copper Point they actually understand what hosting groups requires.
Quiet and comfortable, the hot springs were wonderful, dinner was delicious, and the breakfast server was very kind and friendly.
The hair dryer and coffee machine are both unusable and should be checked and replaced promptly.
