Incredible location. Quiet, rural, family-oriented. 10min walk to the Bat Cave and access point to the Killing Caves. The room was spacious, very comfortable and quiet. Loved all the communal hangout spots on the property. Free bicycle rent- I spent a lot of time riding around the rice paddies. The small local market has food and basic essentials.

a very special place to stay near the batcave and wat area. EXTREMELY friendly, welcoming, kind and helpful host, Saro, took the time to take us to see the bats at sunset and to visit the pagoda and caves the following morning, not wanting any extra money for that. his wife also cooked us delicious dinner and breakfast. truly one of the highlights of visit to Cambodia : Saum Arkoun Saro! and amazing value for money…

Bijzondere plek om te verblijven. Supervriendelijke, behulpzame host. Leuke tour met Sano naar de berg en de vleermuizen. 2e dag een tourtje met de broer van Sano. Ook een aanrader. Niet alleen veel gezien van de omgeving maar ook veel gehoord over het leven en de cultuur van de gewone Cambodjanen. Inclusief de impact die de Rode Khmer ook op hun levens gehad heeft. Je zit echt thuis bij de familie aan tafel.

Het was regentijd. En de regen maakt veel geluid op een golfplaten dakje snachts… Het is een homestay. Wees voorbereid op muggen en koude douches :-)

We loved our stay! The room was clean and comfortable but moreover what we really loved was staying outside the city surrounded by nature. Esaro was an amazing host with good English and all his family members were lovely and welcoming. Apart from the breakfast, they can cook lunch or dinner for you and it's even better if you can share the meal with the family or other guests - it made us feel at home :) Upon check-out, Esaro offered to give me a ride to the bus station with all our bags while my partner went to return the scooter we rented, we really appreciate it! And last but not least, the caves and temples in Phnom Sampow are so close to visit even by foot.

De vriendelijke mensen, de eigenaar regelt alles voor je. Zijn vrouw kookt lekker. Top locatie en hele leuke tuktuk toer gedaan die eigenaar geregeld had.

Esaro was the perfect host- thank you so so much. We arrived tired, hot and hungry. His wife cooked us delicious food and did our laundry for us. Esaro took us on a really informative and enjoyable trip to the caves. The house is a relaxed and happy place to be. Amazing value for money.

Our taxi driver struggled to find the house but Esaro came out and guided him in.

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable chez l’habitant à Battambang. L’emplacement est idéal, à seulement 10 minutes à pied du site des chauves-souris. Dès notre arrivée, notre hôte a été exceptionnel : il nous a fait découvrir les caves lors de notre première soirée et a pris le temps de nous expliquer avec beaucoup de pédagogie l’histoire de son pays. Grâce à lui, nous avons également pu visiter plusieurs lieux de Battambang à travers une activité organisée, ce qui a vraiment enrichi notre séjour. Sa femme est une cuisinière incroyable : tous les repas étaient absolument délicieux. Plus largement, toute la famille nous a réservé un accueil d’une grande gentillesse, et nous avons partagé de très beaux moments avec eux. Le logement est simple mais tout à fait suffisant. Nous avons passé deux nuits très paisibles et reposantes.

Just a few steps from Bat Cave, a peaceful and family-friendly place! A huge thank you to my host and their family for their warm welcome and for the moments we shared together over meals. The owner gave great recommendations for activities and helped me organize my transportation.

This is a rustic homestay. The family are lovely and a great level of English. Walkable to the batcave and some restaurants. Dinner cooked onsite was tasty, and the tour we booked through them was a great standard.

Nothing, it’s not a hotel so comfort levels won’t be luxury, this is more about the experience

Beim Eintreffen wurden wir vom Besitzer freundlich empfangen und zunächst mit Wasser versorgt. Die Bat Caves sind in etwa fünf Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Nachdem wir uns die Fledermäuse angesehen hatten, konnten wir in der Unterkunft noch ein sehr leckeres Lok Lak genießen. Das Frühstück haben wir nicht ausprobiert, da uns am Morgen ein Kaffee reicht und wir außerdem einen langen Reisetag vor uns hatten.

I stayed in the tent, which was very comfortable with mattress and bedding, a fan, and power outlets. I was worried it would be too hot sleeping without aircon in mid April, but it was absolutely fine at night. The fan helped too. It was also super fun on a platform over a pond! Loved the hammock. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. I was given a towel too. The food was delicious - breakfast is included! The location is great, just a short walk from the bat caves and food places. But still feel in the country side. I liked that it was out of the main city. Esaro sorted out tuk tuks for me, a tour for me and a couple of others staying there (which was a great day!), and even came with us up to the temple by the killing caves to tell us the story depicted. Esaro and his family are so so welcoming and kind. I was lucky enough to be there for Khmer New Year and had a great time spending time with them in the evening. Overall a fantastic stay. One of the highlights of my 3 months travelling Asia. Would absolutely recommend.

Très bon séjour dans cette guest house ! La chambre était correcte, avec la climatisation, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Nous avons mangé sur place pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner : c’était la maman de la famille qui cuisinait, et c’était vraiment très bon. La famille est très sympathique, accueillante, et les enfants sont adorables, vraiment mignons et très gentils. Le village est aussi agréable, avec un café juste à côté que je recommande. L’emplacement est pratique, pas loin de Phnom Samphov, idéal pour aller voir les chauves-souris en fin de journée. Une adresse simple, familiale et chaleureuse !

We loved the homestay! The family is very kind and we had a lot of nice chats with them. The place is a 20 min drive from Battambang but you're near the impressive batcave and can walk there to see the bats fly out in the evening. We were sad to leave this peaceful place.

Esaro and his family are very kind and welcoming. The homestay and its surroundings are beautiful, and it is located right at the foot of Phnom Sampeau hill. Honestly, I had a very pleasant one-week stay here.

This is a great location near the famous bat caves. A great and authentic way to experience local village life. Saro and his family were nothing but hospitable and welcoming, and even took me around the area as well as helped arrange travel to some tourist areas such as the bamboo train. I live in Phnom Penh but will definitely come back when I need a break from the city.

Friendliest and most welcome hosts we’ve had, great room and amazing vibe. Would say this is the best place we’ve stayed so far and the community around Battambang are very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend you stay here. The host can also help with organising transport and activities.

Our bungalow was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. It was a great location if you want to stay near to the bat cave. The owner was amazing and took us up to the caves on bikes. It was great to have an English speaking person explain the history behind the caves.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au milieu de la campagne. Très bien placé pour observer les chauves-souris, nos hôtes étaient très accueillants. Nous avons très bien mangé et avons bien été conseillés pour visiter le coin.

La posizione è perfetta per visitare i maggiori siti di interesse della zona, Killing cave e Bat cave raggiungili a piedi. La camera nella quale abbiamo soggiornato era accogliente e pulita. Saro ci ha fatto da guida ed ci ha anche aiutati ad organizzare un tour nelle zone limitrofe che consigliamo e sua moglie ci ha preparato piatti squisiti. Abbiamo anche usufruito del servizio lavanderia.

De kamer was ruim en proper. Ook het sanitair was goed. De eigenaar is supervriendelijk. Hij heeft ons een rondleiding in de omgeving gegeven met een interessante uitleg erbij. Als je ervoor open staat om een nachtje bij een familie door te brengen, een aanrader! Ook lekker gegeten.

Don’t skip this place and you will have an unforgettable time.

Lovely homestay at the outskirts of Battambang, it is well maintained, clean and quiet. The family host are the most welcoming people ever. They make you feel welcomed since the first moment. They move you around if you need, give tips and advices what to do. You can borrow their bicycle, and they prepare delicious meals. You get a very authentic experience with the locals since everyone on the village knows each other, and they are so happy to meet the guests. Probably the best place I have stayed in Cambodia. I had the AC room, and it is great, great toilet and shower, comfortable bed. My only regret is not having more days to stay here more.

Charmerende familie på landet, lige ved siden af flagermusegrotten. Skøn oase hvis man er indstillet på at strøm og vand kan mangle periodevis. Dejlig og enkel mad! Bedste mango jeg nogensinde har smagt. Gratis vand. Fin kaffebiks på første hjørne indenfor 100 meter. Folk er generelt virkelig søde og imødekommende.

I cannot agree with the other reviews. Yes, it's like a proper homestay, but at the same time there are so many people staying there that there is no "living with the family" feeling. Also, as is normal, it's relatively loud with that many people/ a big family. Either people drinking and or watching videos on their phone on full volume. Also, for the same price we had a 4 star hotel with a pool on Siam reap before.

Great homestay, great location (walking distance to the bat cave). Saro is a great host who welcomed us into his home. His wife is a great cook and we felt at home, which was just lovely! I was a little worried about how we’d sleep with no air con (as it was baking!) but the fan worked really well and we had a great nights sleep. I highly recommend this homestay.

What a wonderful place to stay! Located in a rural setting just 10 minutes walk from the bat cave this is a real gem. There is a range of accommodation to suit all types and the family go out of their way to look after you and make your stay special. There is plenty to see in the area on foot, or tour options can be arranged, or you can explore Battambang City via a 20 minute tuk tuk ride. This is a village homestay where you can experience warm and generous Cambodian hospitality, we learnt a lot and I loved the incredible bats! 🦇

Loved being so close to the bat cave. It was nice to stay in a tent, which was very clean. The hosts and family were lovely and they cooked us some amazing food and were very kind to help us arrange transport to and from the homestay.

Alles was prima. Enkel door de hoge temperaturen (36gr C) was het moeilijk de kamer fris genoeg te krijgen met de ventilator.

Family Batcave Homestay bylo naprosto úžasné! Hostitelská rodina je nesmírně milá a vstřícná, cítili jsme se jako doma. Snídaně byla skvělá a autenticky lokální – opravdový zážitek. Určitě si zařiďte tuktuk a vydejte se podívat na netopýry visící na stromech a také na Wat Banan. Večer nesmíte vynechat batcave a pozorování netopýrů vyletujících z jeskyně – je to fascinující zážitek. Východ slunce na Wat Phnom Andoeuk také stojí za to! Celkově je to místo perfektní pro relaxaci, v nádherné a klidné přírodě s minimem turistů. Rozhodně doporučuji každému, kdo hledá autentické a poklidné ubytování s přátelskou atmosférou.

The location is really convenient for visiting the Batcave. Saro and his family are very welcoming, very helpful organising/hosting tours and sharing great local food with the guests. He hosted multiple tours during my stay and I learnt so much more than I would have staying elsewhere!!

This was a fantastic cultural experience, with a wonderful local family. The owner couldn't do enough to help and made sure we got the most from the experience.

Die Atmosphäre ist großartig, sehr entspannt, nah an der Fledermaushöhle. 10 Mal mehr zu tun als in der Innenstadt von Battambang. Die klimatisierten Zimmer sind nach dem Wandern auf dem Berg die besten.

We absolutely loved staying with Lem Esaro and his family. It was a great experience to be welcomed into their home. We felt very well taken care of - we were fed excellent meals, shown around the area and helped with organizing tours. If you are looking for an authentic and meaningful Cambodian experience then this is the spot for you. They have comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and AC but we really enjoyed the traditional hut. The fan kept us cool at night and the shared bathrooms were very clean. Arkoun!

I wouldn’t change anything. Be aware that the roosters and dogs can be noisy at night but this was easily solved with earplugs for me.

They were fantastic and super accommodating in every way possible. They provided great meals, out of this world exceptional individual hut with a tent over water to provide a great experience. Strongly recommend staying for a relaxing time close to the caves.

The location is fine close to Batcave in the village.

The room seemed to be good but there were many holes in the wooden construction and the shocking was that in the middle of the night there was rat in our room. She ate our bananas and was going inside our room in the night while we were sleeping. It was really shock.

A dream of a homestay The ‘rooms’ in their idyllic setting are complemented by beautiful food cooked in a traditional outdoor kitchen where friends and family join guests for meals and conversation. It is truly a rural escape - from the beautiful sunrise over the fields by morning to the return of the bats from the mountain at sunset. The family could not do enough for us; we were taken on trips, collected when needed and fed the most gorgeous Cambodian food.

On a aimé le fait d'être à la campagne tres proche de Phnom Sampeau et de côtoyer une famille cambodgienne. Saro nous a proposé des visites et réservation de bus. Le prêt gratuit de vélo pour une journée dans la campagne. La terrasse superbe de notre bungalow.

Le manque d'équipement du lavabo (éclairage surtout) extérieur à notre chambre (ça c'était prévu). Un petit miroir dans la chambre serait le bienvenu.

Bun and family were wonderful hosts. It’s a good spot to hear some nature and get out of the city. Bun use to be a Monk and happily shared some wisdom (and Cambodian history) which was one of my favorite parts of the stay. Delicious food provided.

Fijne huiselijke sfeer, je woont en eet met de familie. Daarnaast zijn Saro en zijn familie ook heel behulpzaam bij het regelen van activiteiten (de tuktuk tour die hij aanraadde was erg leuk!). Perfecte plek om het Cambodjaanse leven te ervaren.

Real fast can be a bit better

Amazing home stay a short walk or bike ride from the bat cave and temple. Lovely country side to go for an early morning walk or evening stroll. I chose the tent and it had electricity, a light and a fan. The bathroom and toilet was super clean! I had the chicken/basil and rice for supper and for breakfast, egg fried rice with a fried egg. It was delicious. There are other options also. I got up before sunset and the dogs joined me for a walk through the rice paddies. Bliss!

Great hosts, we got a wonderful tour of the area before we left. Loved our cabin, the hammock and the beautiful surroundings. Butterflies everywhere

To be honest, I had an amazing stay here and truly got to experience authentic Cambodian 🇰🇭 lifestyle. I was lucky enough to witness a fantastic local party, where the people were incredibly hospitable and friendly. They even requested another party, so I ended up staying an extra day—it was unforgettable! The place is simple and no-frills, but the honesty, kindness, and warmth of the hosts and local people make it an incredibly authentic experience 🥰❤️

Simple accommodation, some of bungalows/tents/rooms don’t have air-conditioning but fans only, but when I was visiting in December it was not needed during the night, temperature was optimal. I didn’t even turn on the fan at night. During the day it was little bit hot but I was using hammock and I was out all of the day.

Très bel endroit en dehors de Battanmbang proche du temple et des attractions connues de cette région. L’accueil de la famille est à souligner. Excellente cuisine au poivre de Kampot….

Leuke plek waar je het cambidjasnse Cambodjaanse landleven ervaart. Saro is supervriendelijk en behulpzaam! We hebben er elke dag heerlijk ontbeten en gegeten.

We werden wel heel vroeg gewekt door de keiharde muziek en gebeden uit de tempel, versterkt door speakers. Voordeel is wel dat je lekker vroeg op bent om het mooie ochtendlicht op de rijstvelden te bewonderen…

La struttura è molto semplice, una vera casa cambogiana ma si percepisce la cura, l’attenzione e la assoluta disponibilità verso i propri ospiti. Una delle cene più buone che abbiamo avuto la fortuna di mangiare! Abbiamo avuto il piacere di conoscere una coppia di viaggiatori tedeschi e abbiamo condiviso con loro la serata chiacchierando di viaggi ed esperienze immersi nel silenzio della natura Cosa chiedere di più?

L'expérience était incroyable ! Vivre dans une petite ferme accueilli par la famille avec une gentillesse inégalée. L'équipement est rudimentaire, mais vous êtes chez eux comme chez vous! Profitez des repas ensemble le soir, les réveils du coq (souvent trop tôt), les balades en vélo où à pied le long des rizières, et toutes les activités du coin accessibles facilement à pied, vélo ou tuktuk!

Kindest host you’ll ever meet. The homestay is walking distance to the famous bat cave, and you can go up the hill to the temples and viewpoints. The hosts are also excellent cooks and will look after you very well. Nice dogs too!!

A little bit away from Battambang but the host is really helpful organising transport for you if you want to see Battambang city.
