Reviewed Aug 7, 2026An absolutely outstanding hotel. Host Jacqui was just wonderful and could not have been more helpful ,even from before we arrived. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the CBD and only a short walk from. Restaurants, cafes and many sights worth visiting. Our room was 302 and it had a superb view out over the city. Beautifully decorated, with a new bathroom and very functional kitchenette. The bed was probably the best we have ever had and the apartment was beautifully presented. I would without hesitation recommend the Chamberson to any visitor to Dunedin.
The only potential improvements would have been in-house clothes washing facilities and access from the carpark directly into the hotel - but these were relatively minor issues.

The lady of the house was excellent. She confronted some noisy residents and wasn’t standing for mischief tho it did disturb a good nights sleep. Cudos to her though!

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026The Chamberson is in an excellent location, close to all Dunedin has to offer. The room itself was of a very high quality and it felt like we were in Melbourne or somewhere very cool!
The only issue was parking - we had two cars and needed to find parks, but there is a DCC parking lot close by.

Could walk to attractions and a myriad of eateries. Great staff who were more than helpful. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Reviewed May 28, 2026Was spacious and had good amenities and great location for exploring town centre. Carpark was great to have also. Bed was comfortable - shower was great pressure. Easy to check in and out and having a full fridge was perfect for a longer stay. Heating worked well and we were very comfortable. If there's a picture of breakfast showing here - it's for a cafe across the road - nor from the hotel. Apologies for any confusion.

Reviewed May 19, 2026Close to everything within the city so it was easy to walk. The extra blankets in our room cupboard were a nice touch for winter. Jacqui at reception was such a delight making us feel welcome and greeted us each day so cheerfully. Comfortable beds and lovely kitchenette, nice bathrooms (it was a treat having 2 in our room) The rooms were lovely and clean and the heaters were on when we arrived making it warm and inviting on a cold day.
There was nothing I didn’t like. Could use a coffee table or side tables beside the couch and extra lighting over the bathroom mirrors.
