Catba Oasis Bungalows

It was on a very nice location, clean and the staff was helpful. We enjoyed our time in the Cat Ba Oasis Bungalows. A lot of areas to hang out and also good to book scooters and activities from the hotel.

We booked a family room for 4 adults and the second bed was a little bit smaller, therefore not so comfortable. But otherwise we had a great stay!

La ubicación y la piscina.

En el desayuno había casi nada de comida. El café terrible. Solo había leche condensada. Muy muy pobre. Las habitaciones estaban muy sucias. El baño estaba todo mojado.

Wir haben von hier unsere Bootstour gestartet und eine Nacht verbracht. Dafür war die Unterkunft ideal. Ich würde sie wieder buchen.

Loved the location and the price for a 1 night stay. Room was clean, some facilities were very warn for instance the stairs to go up to the second floor was all rusted. Breakfast included was good. Booked due to the pool which was lovely. Nothing exceptional but good for price.

Ingen rengøring mens vi var der, ingen dyner, ekstra lagner var med pletter. Skuffende morgenmad inkluderet,ingen te.

Les chambres vétustes surtout les salles de bain, pas de draps de dessus juste une couverture en polaire pas tres propres. Petit déjeuner en dessous de la norme, parfait si vous restez une nuit pour l'excursion dans la Baie. Électricité très vetuste

The Air-con was quiet , breakfast was good , the bed was good for me but I like a hard bed .

One of the managers was totally rude to me maybe because I was Australian I'm 73 with disability and complained that the refrigerator had stinking food left in it and no longer worked , he said we could leave if we wanted to but at 4pm and travelling for 2 days looking for another hotel was not what I wanted so we changed rooms and the kettle didn't work another one was supplied and on the last morning the water was off for hours not what you want when you need to travel would I stay there NO NO NO lots of hotels to choose from .

Location was good. The pool looked nice but not clean.

Frühstück was nicht gut. Eier und Toast und reis Wassermelone mehr war da nicht. Der Kaffee war furchtbar 🥴🥴. Die Fliesen in der Dusche waren schon lange nicht mehr sauber gemacht. Schimmel in den Fugen. Es war absolut nichts zu tun in der Stadt 🥴🥴

Very basic family room, yet comfortable. The set up is really good. It has an open area to relax outdoors and a swimming pool. Very good location, close to all restaurants. We spent most of our time on tours, so it was just for sleeping.

The whole place smells of cigarette even our room smelt of cigarette. The whole site is open to smoking, so if you don’t smoke you’ll notice the smell. It’s Vietnam, so we expected lots of cigarette smell everywhere but the room was non smoking and still had the smell which made it uncomfortable.

The location was close to restaurants and bars. The pool was big and the bungalows look cool with their different colours and roof tops. Nice to have a balcony to sit on for a drink.

The bathroom was tiny. No top sheet just a blanket. No lifts so book a room on the ground floor if you have lots of luggage!

Close to everything, but small and quiet, I think the last place on that strip that is not a high rise, and we could see the mountains right behind. Very comfy room and good advice about the island from management.

They removed a couple trees while I was there! Not sure why and I hope they lived, I watched the trees moved onto a truck so I hope that maybe they just got too big for the spot.

Great location, nice clean pool and comfy bed. The staff were lovely, making sure we had everything we needed and are great for arranging trips. The family that run this place are lovely and make you feel at home.

The bathroom was in a poor state, in need of a redo. The water would run cold very quickly, the door to our room did not feel secure and needed looking at whilst we were there. There was an enormous rat running across a beam as we played pool, which was not nice to see.

Just the ubication

The rooms smelled strongly of damp and mold. The fridge had a large fungus inside and a very bad smell. The bathroom was full of mold and was not clean. The TV did not work at all and was essentially just decorative. It is surprising for a “hotel” not to provide a functioning TV, as this is a basic amenity. The complex had rats present on the property. Breakfast was very poor; the only acceptable items were watermelon and bananas. The coffee was of very low quality, which is disappointing considering Vietnam is known for its good coffee. Today we witnessed a waitress clearing a table and placing a leftover slice of ham from a previous guest back into the ham cabinet to be served again. This raised serious hygiene concerns. I do not recommend this place. The quality does not match the price paid. There is construction directly in front of the property that starts at 6 a.m., causing loud noise and early wake-ups. Overall, a very disappointing stay.

Shared balcony made me close my blinds so people couldn’t walk by and look in. Pool is not heated and cold.

De douche was vies, stopcontacten waren slecht, tv was compleet gescheurd, nachtkastje viel bijna uit elkaar, deur sloot slecht.

Bungalow and pool were nice, bedrooms were good.

Bathrooms very unclean due to the shower being in the open - rust and mold on things, walls unclean, bad smell. Probably depending on which room you stay in but the walls were very thin and could hear full conversations of people next door.

Location was perfect for us and we loved the pool.The breakfast was good, fried eggs, fruit, toast, coffee/tea. There was also a bar to order coffee, beer, smoothies etc. We enjoyed the free pool table. The staff was super friendly, arranged a boat cruise to Ha Long Bay, Monkey Island etc, 9 hours long including lunch, drinks were extra including water but we were told water was free.

Could have used a bedside light. Also, flat screen TV was in room but upon arrival were told none of the TV's throughout hotel were working. Not a big deal but on rainy days would have been nice and they should remobe flat screen tv from booking.com website.

Hezké místo, pěkně vybavené pokoje. Měli i fén na vlasy, dále ručníky a kartáček s pastou. Výborná snídaně - paní pekla palačinky a vejce (volská oka).

Pomalu reagují na whatsapp nebo booking zprávách. Tekla studená voda ve sprše.

Staff were very helpful with local information and arranging transport and scooter hire for us.

The staff were very helpful and kind. The location is handy. The pool is lovely and the hotel's thatched beach-bar vibe looks really appealing. Breakfast was adequate the first day as we were early, but not great the second.

Our room was horribly damp and visibly getting rotten, so the staff let us change rooms. The second room was much better but still smelt overwhelmingly damp. Something affecting visitors' enjoyment of Cat Ba Town, if you stay near what used to be the seafront, is the absolutely enormous and noisy construction site replacing the beach. Obviously the hotels cannot do anything about this but as a tourist you need to be aware!

La piscina, senza ombra di dubbio. Bella come forma e pulita grazie al grande filtro in funzione. Non sapeva troppo di cloro e aveva una bella temperatura (non è riscaldata). La struttura poi nel complesso è carina, si distingue molto dai palazzoni adiacenti e nonostante la vicinanza al centro, gode di una posizione quasi nascosta dal resto, con meno rumori rispetto al resto delle strutture. Comoda anche per raggiungere la fermata del bus per Hanoi (e altre destinazione), che si trova a 300m dall'hotel. L'ingresso è molto bello e siamo stati accolti cordialmente.

La pulizia generale della stanza: non è il posto peggiore dove siamo stati in assoluto, ma sicuramente non alloggerei qui per più di una notte. Nella camera le lenzuola avevano macchie datate (non fresche) e il muro della camera era sporco, forse con muffa, non ho voluto indagare cosa fosse 🤣 Anche i cuscini delle sedie e in generale gli altri oggetti avevano segni di scarsa pulizia. Il Wi-Fi funzionava a tratti, a volte dava errore di connessione. La colazione prevede un buffet modesto, e nonostante la temperatura esterna fosse sui 20 gradi, alcuni cibi e bevande erano freddi. La colazione è stata comunque memorabile, considerato che ho scelto patatine fritte e wurstel. Il letto matrimoniale sembrava inizialmente comodo o quantomeno decente ma la mattina ci siamo svegliati stanchi e indolenziti.

Das Personal war freundlich. Die Mikrofaserhandtücher wurden täglich gewechselt, Wasser und Kaffee täglich aufgefüllt.

Wir haben vier Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht. Wir haben Cat Ba gewählt, um uns nach einem ziemlich intensiven Urlaub im Norden Vietnams am Strand zu erholen. Leider haben wir die Online-Kommentare nicht gründlich gelesen – also können wir uns jetzt nicht allzu sehr beschweren. Cat Hai ist eine wunderschöne Insel, aber Cat Ba selbst ist eine einzige Baustelle. Die Buchten werden aufgeschüttet, und an ihrer Stelle entstehen betonierte Touristenstädte. Und das Hotel selbst? Die Idee ist eigentlich angenehm – niedrige Gebäude statt der vielen Hochhäuser ringsum. Leider scheint es, wie so oft in Vietnam, einmal gebaut und dann sich selbst überlassen zu sein. Die Zimmer waren nicht richtig gereinigt, im Bad (das auf keinem Foto zu sehen ist – kein Wunder, das wäre der erste Grund gewesen, das Hotel nicht zu buchen) war Schimmel in den Fugen. Die Klimaanlage wurde offenbar seit der Installation nie gewartet. Ehrlich gesagt würde das Hotel nach europäischem Standard höchstens eine Sternbewertung verdienen. Das Frühstück war recht eintönig, aber für den Start in den Tag in Ordnung.

Emplacement proche de la plage. Charmant endroit avec piscine. Accueil sympa. On a pu réserver la croisière dans la baie sur place ainsi que les locations de scooters.

Dommage l'ile est en pleine construction un peu partout dont un grand batiment juste devant l'hotel. On a plus la belle vue et les bruits des travaux commencent tôt

Nuestra habitación tenía problemas con la luz y debía venir el personal constantemente a comprobar si se iba o si no teníamos luz

La piscine était vraiment sympa et la vue sur les bungalows aussi. Les cocktails sont bons et pas trop cher pour Cát Bà. La clim fonctionne bien dans la chambre de même que le frigo. L'emplacement est top pour la plage et pour la ville. La chambre est rapidement faite durant le petit déjeuner.

La chambre était pas très propre et la salle de bain sale. Beaucoup de traces de rouille elle mériterait un bon coût de peinture. Le vis à vis avec toutes les fenêtres n'est pas pratique du tout il faut constamment fermer les rideaux. Il n'y a pas de drap sur les couvertures et on n'a pas eu l'impression qu'elles étaient lavées. Beaucoup de saletés sous le lit. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de choix au petit déjeuner.

The pool

Room booked not available, expected two 16 lads to share a bed, had to upgrade and pay but there were plenty of rooms empty which was annoying, there was a storm and got two days the bar and restaurant just shut and all the staff disappeared… came back after the rain stopped…

Great location, although tbe massive beach front development will forever change Cat Ba into some Disney nightmare. Nice and rustic setti g for those not wanting to stay in a large hotel block.

Good location on the main Street but still peaceful. Nice poolside area. Laundry service was reasonable priced and good.

Room in poor condition, smelling damp, bathroom endured and over all really poorly cleaned (pictures) There was no Room maintenance, only small bottles of water, clean towels and some toilet paper was delivered during morning.Only one microfober towel per person, no hand or Face towels. Poor soundproofing, we could hear easily everything our neighbours were doing Majority of the staff seemed unfriendly and could speak english very little or not at all. Breakfast, first morning it was poor and the following days hardly passable. All in all, I am sure you will get better value for your money elsewhere.

Possiblement, l'establiment més bonic de la zona. La zona de la piscina i voltants és molt agradable. Anar a les platges és un passeig de 10 minuts

Teníem dues habitacions, i un dels llits era massa dur. L'esmorzar era una mica just si ets turista occidental.

Hôtel très bien situé, près des restaurants et de la plage. Les chambres sont propres et spacieuse. Très bon séjour j'avais un doute par rapport aux avis mais j'ai été agréablement surpris.

Rooms were filthy and smelly. There was half an inch of dust on the hanging lamp which was cleaned after mentioning it to the receptionist. Room service worker threw our blanket on the floor. Not a very welcoming atmosphere.

Great service, daily room cleaning with fresh towels. Staff are friendly and will help you with anything if asked. Breakfast lasts until 9am with good variety of goods. The area is currently under development, so you will see and hear the noice from the construction site. The facility itself is okey, rooms are clean but all in all it surely needs renovation.

Perfect location at the end of the strip. Very quiet. Staff were able to organise everything from motorbikes to boat tours to transfers and were cheaper than others in the area. Great for families

We had a family room and 2 doubles. The family room was good quality and much newer than the other 2 rooms. If we’d all had the same quality rooms as the family room I would have rated it higher.

Excellent value for money. Right in the centre of town and convenient short walk to beaches, shops abs restaurants. Rooms were basic, but clean and plenty of good hot water showers. Pool was clean and well filtered. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but tasty and healthy option. More than what you would expect for the great price.
