Great breakfast, can have coffee in sittin g area, sit abd read in the gardens on a sunny day.feels safe if solo traveller
Lovely, clean hotel. Excellent breakfast and good location.
Excellent breakfast. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good shower.
No electrical sockets in room 29. Couldn't charge phone!
It was very clean and the building is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous too. They staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the communal room was brilliant too for cups of tea
Nothing
The breakfast was delicious with lots of options.
Another guest banged on my door one night- that was a bit scary but certainly not the accomodation's fault.
Location, breakfast was fantastic. Good sized room.

This was our second stay here and every bit as good as the first. The rooms are quite small and basic, but provide everything you need. Bathroom is big. The staff are lovely and the included breakfast is excellent.
Great location

Nothing.
Lovely old building. Very basic inside but clean and fine for a nights stay- we were visiting for uni open day. Bus stop into town right outside the driveway.
Shared facilities for kettle.
The rooms were close together- 6 of us. Sarah, on reception was extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast had a good range of food and drinks, and the whole place was clean and comfortable despite being fully booked.
It's a small inconvenience not to be able to make drinks in your room
Great place to stay
The grounds and the breakfast.
Comfortable, quiet, great location with leafy gardens . Very good breakfast
A good traditional breakfast. Nice staff. Great location.
The lighting in the bathroom was not nice.
Staff. Breakfast. Peaceful. Bed.
It was all fine
Loved it. Lady on reception gave us local information and quick history guide of the building.
Nothing. Great price and location. Value for money.
Beautiful building
Convenient location good value
Big car park handy for Headingley
Breakfast could be better hash browns worst I have ever had
The location for Headingly cricket ground is great. The rooms basic but very clean. The breakfast delicious and the staff friendly and helpful.
The location
1. Internet was awful 2. Bed was uncomfortable 3. Number of times no one present at front desk. 4. Poor concierge services. 5. For the price paid and services received, virtually no value for money.
Very comfortable, good breakfast, quiet and pleasant surroundings, very convenient for Headingley
There was a long wait to check in as the receptionist was busy elsewhere
Very peaceful, good location Nice breakfast

Price and convenience. Great location for cricket. Basic room but everything you need. Very good breakfast.
The gardens and wildlife were incredible and it was a very peaceful location near the park and amenities. Beautiful building with lots of parking.
I was upstairs in a heatwave so it was very hot BUT the reception staff were amazing providing a very efficient fan. The WiFi was slow and I was studying so was a bit tricky but close enough to walk to the university site.
Quiet friendly atmosphere, friendly staff , excellent breakfast. exceeded all expectations. Free Parking for all friends to take seperate cars. (4)
Rooms way too hot, even though temperature outside was cool, (air con or fans needed)
Hinsley Hall is in an excellent location less than 15 minutes on foot to Headingley Cricket Ground. The property is spotless, the staff are friendly and facilities are good. The bedrooms are fairly basic but contains everything you could want- nice bed, work space and separate bathroom with shower. Breakfast was more than ample with a wide selection of food to meet most needs. Self service cooked breakfast, ample fruit and cereals, selection of drinks. The bar area is pleasant with a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The barman is also the receptionist.Excellent value for money.
Nothing
Plenty of parking, central, great breakfast, helpful staff.
Quiet from roadside traffic.
Dated and very basis rooms in terms of facilities and comfort. Poor lighting. Not at all homely. Disappointing drink selection in the bar.
Interesting old building, plenty of free parking. Great location, in Headingley, just outside the city. Lots of pubs and restaurants within walking distance, including a Wetherspoons opposite the hotel. Good English breakfast, free tea and coffee available in separate kitchenette. Clean.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, a couple of minor things, the room was quite basic and the television was very small. I would recommend to others due to the value for money.
Comfortable, basic room . Very clean. Great position for bus to city and a night out in Headingly . Great breakfast
No complaints
Great location, fascinating building, lovely grounds, plenty of car parking space, basic but comfortable and clean bedrooms. Good breakfast included in the price.
Not open on Sundays - why not? Is it because of Lords Day observance?
Lovely grounds and location. Friendly staff, good breakfast
It was close to where I needed to be and far enough set back from the busy road/area to be peaceful and serene, the Breakfast was great.
Probably just some clients that are loud and clumsy arriving back at 2am but not the Halls fault
Great location for anyone doing the Otley run. Pleasant staff and a fabulous cooked breakfast.
No aircon in the rooms and windows have restrictors on them so rooms were rather hot

Beautiful and unusual place to stay

Ruhige Lage, sehr gutes englisches Frühstück
It was great location close to the town but felt like you were in the middle of nowhere
I liked everything about this visit. There wasn’t nothing I disliked.
The historical building and grounds are amazing!
I liked everything about my stay at Hinsley Hall. Beautiful place, great staff, food was lovely.

Location was great for our event at Harewood House. Loads of pubs and restaurants nearby. Loads of parking. Breakfast was lovely. Room was basic but nice, spacious and clean
No tea and coffee stuff in the rooms, they were nearby but would have been nice to have it the room when we wanted it rather than having to go wandering the halls.
Lovely location in great grounds. Room very clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was great with a good variety
Some people who came back late (after 2am) and banged their doors very inconsiderate
Lovely and quiet
Beautiful location, friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, spacious clean rooms, breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. This is a hidden gem of a hotel and massively underrated!
Nothing
Great location great breakfast and great price
The shower head wouldn’t stay at the top and kept falling to its lowest level, but that was the only issue with the property!
What a gem of a find in a busy part of Leeds. Beautiful setting, ample safe parking on site and easy to find. Rooms are unfussy with everything you need, wardrobe side table, desk and chair. Bathrooms are utilitarian but perfectly adequate and large. This is because it was fornerly a trading center for missionaries.
Car park is a little far from the building and there are no porters. It felt empty of people but a receptionist appeared soon enough.
The staff can never do enough for you wonderful people

Lovely building with a lot of history
Stayed overnight while attending an event nearby the room was very comfortable and there were facilities for hot drinks near all the rooms main lounge with free very good quality coffee vendor and tea making facility no food in the evening however there is a Wetherspoons minutes away over the road. Breakfast included and difficult to find fault
Well worth the stay Food 10/1 well done people will be back
Need a little more light on way in
Stayed there for one night as professional needs, Nice hotel with nice food
Good location, excellent breakfast, excellent parking, great history to the building
Room could do with a lick of paint and a new mattress
Friendly efficient staff, beautiful location (ideal for the cricket), and lovely breakfast.
quiet
Beautiful place in lovely grounds
Be prepared to meet lots of religious bods in the corridors and on the walls! Nothing inherently wrong but just a tad odd.
Goed ontbijt en heel mooi gebouw. Personeel was erg vriendelijk.
Op de kamer was het erg warm en er kon geen raam open

Excellent bathroom and shower. Comfy beds. Good, well presented breakfast.
The stairs. No lift to our room 46.
Location was great, rooms clean but plain quiet location great coffee machine
Breakfast we liked the toast, fruit and yoghurt. But the sausage were hard, mushroom tasted funny, scrambled egg and fried eggs were disgusting
Location for the cricket, unusual hotel, really interesting and nice. Great breakfast!!
Beds were a little hard but that’s probably my preference than an issue
Great location, lots of parking , easy to find and cheap.
Feels a bit weird and boarding school like but for the price you can’t really complain.
Big room in a great building. Good breakfast and free parking.
Great location as we were attending the cricket at Headingley, also we have stayed here before and it’s always been value for money.
Nothing
Set away from the main road; heritage building
Lack of A/C
It was a lovely looking place which is why I booked it and it was near Leeds university
Nothing
Lovely quiet place in the middle of Leeds. Lovely rooms a super cooked breakfast and very nice staff. 2nd time staying
Hinsley hall is in the most beautiful and tranquil setting in the midst of vibrant Headingley. As always immaculately clean, very comfortable and staff who are unfailingly helpful and welcoming. A buffet Breakfast is included in the room rate with a good choice of uncooked options including plenty of fruit and a hearty choice for a cooked breakfast. The coffee/beverage machine in the resident’s lounge is excellent and the kitchenettes dotted around the bedrooms are a great alternative to having a messy tray in the bedrooms
Really nothing. Part of the charm of Hinsley hall is its back to basics option - plain but comfortable bedrooms with a small basic tv . A few more toiletries and some tissues would be a nice touch
Location is perfect if you need to be near the University. We liked the free car park, the breakfast, on tap tea and coffee, the very friendly and accommodating staff. Overall a great stay and would stay again.
The rooms are comfortable but basic but were perfectlly adequate for what we wanted.
A quiet oasis in Headingley.
Nothing.
Lovely staff and clean but awful food. Not a lot more to say. It is what it is - a pastoral retreat from the last century.
Pretty much everything apart from lovely staff and being clean. Shower didn’t work.
Very relaxed place to stay with a real sense of serenity

Beautiful building, not at all like a normal hotel, but very friendly staff and great breakfast.
It was a complete surprise to find ourselves in a property belonging to the Diocese of Leeds. As Catholics this definitely enhanced our stay and is a definite reason for returning! The breakfast was exceptional. We were able to attend Mass!
It was difficult to obtain fresh air in our room. The window had a restricted opening which wasn't really necessary as there was no possible danger involved! Everything else was beyond our expectations
Excellent location Fabulous staff Comfortable bed and very clean room Wonderful breakfast
The rooms are basic but have all you need
The grounds and the building are impressive. At each stage of the experience, the staff were friendly and helpful. The interior of the building is incredibly tidy and clean. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and serene. It is a pleasure to spend time in a hotel where there is no commercialisation.
I think that a coffee lounge and TV room would be useful . This would encourage people to mingle.
Great location with parking, beautiful building and grounds, nice people, very clean and excellent breakfast.
Bathrooms could do with an upgrade but clean and servicable.
Location so close to city centre, beautiful building and surroundings, so clean, great breakfast included, helpful communication and staff - really good value.
Nothing really
The location is very good in general. It’s quiet and set in beautiful grounds. It was pretty good value. Good breakfast and really nice room to have it in.
No air con. Even though we borrowed a fan the room was hot and the windows only open a tiny bit. The decoration is quite sparse, it feels a bit institutional.
The location was ideal, and the staff were very helpful, a good breakfast and comfortable beds.
We were on the 1st floor and as elderly ladles, we would have preferred a lift rather than stairs, although the staff were very helpful and carried our case to our room.
Good location. Beautiful building. Pub at end of road. Breakfast included.
Nothing.
Friendly staff, very clean, large rooms, excellent breakfast, and plenty room to park.
No downsides at all
What a brilliant place - I would highly recommend this to anyone. I really enjoyed my stay here and if in the area again this will be the place I will be booking again. Can I pass on my thanks to Sarah the receptionist who went above and beyond to ensure my early check in and was very helpful. She is an absolute credit to your hotel. Thank you again.

Quiet location, but with easy access to town centre and universities. Interesting historical building, peaceful gardens, excellent breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. Allowed us to leave our car on site for the day while attended our granddaughter’s graduation.
Nothing - all good!
Fabulous and tasty choice of cereals, fruit salad, yoghurt, full cooked breakfast, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Lovely dining room.
There was nothing that could be improved, it was clean, quiet and comfortable
