Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Er war ein schöner Aufenthalt für 3 Nächte vor der Heimreise. Die Unterkunft ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war eines der besten auf unserer Reise. Der Pool war sauber und die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und herzlich. Haben auch einen Transport zum Flughafen organisiert. Alles in allem eine schöne Unterkunft.
Die Details die in der Unterkunft überall zu finden sind, dürfen gerne auch in die Zimmer. Zum Beispiel ein Bild oder so, würde es nochmal gemütlicher machen. Aber das ist keine Kritik sondern nur eine Anregung.

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026The surrounding gardens are lovely and it is a good place to see wildlife next to the lagoon. It was very peaceful but close to café beach and restaurants. The infinity pool was the best. Kept clean and with an upstairs outdoor area to get the sea breeze. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was superb 👌.
We stayed in the self contained bungalow which was very small and cramped and smelt of mildew. There was nowhere to put our bags except a small shelf so we tripped over the bags on the floor. Even leaving the door open could not get rid of the smell from the mould on the walls. There was no refrigerator so we could not cool our water. If we stayed in the Villa itself it may have been better. The rooms in the Villa were small but at least they looked clean.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026De eigenaar was super vriendelijk en gaf ons tips i.v.m. restaurants. Het heerlijke, mooi gepresenteerde ontbijt. En, de locatie was echt wel top, vlak aan de Lagoon.
De badkamer was echt wel primitief. De douche had weinig druk en de kraan van de lavabo stond los. Geen frisdrank of zo beschikbaar.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026Cet endroit est exceptionnel. La maison , le jardin et la piscine de toute beauté. Un havre de paix . C’est calme et reposant . Au bord de la lagune , quelques pélicans et autres oiseaux . Nous étions dans le studio où il y a tout le confort mais un peu petit si on veut y passer plusieurs nuits mais ce jardin quelle beauté. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et presenté avec minutie . Allez y sans hésiter. Pour le petit prix vous êtes reçus comme des rois par cette famille d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle.
Un peu loin du centre. Mais nous y sommes aller le soir en tuk tuk pour un prix modique

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026The staff were friendly, helpful and provided delicious breakfasts. You are made to feel at home. The location on the lagoon was quiet and full of birds and mongooses. There is a restaurant on the beach only across the road which serves good meals. The self contained unit had privacy, everything I needed and a beautiful garden. The pool was one of the best features of the villa for rest and relaxation. I would book here again if travelling to Sr Lanka.

Ce qui devait être un "hébergement d'urgence" s'est transformé en un véritable coup de cœur. • Les hôtes : Tout simplement merveilleux. Ils sont d'une gentillesse rare, très à l'écoute et vraiment "au top". On s'est sentis comme à la maison. • Le cadre : Le jardin est magnifique avec une piscine très propre et parfaitement entretenue. La vue sur le lagon est à couper le souffle. • La chambre : Très bien aménagée, confortable et propre. • La table : Si vous avez faim, traversez la route pour la plage et son restaurant, MAIS je vous conseille mille fois de manger chez l'habitant. Les petits-déjeuners et les plats sont succulents, c'est un régal !
L'établissement est un peu éloigné de tout, ce qui garantit un calme absolu. Parfait pour se ressourcer loin de l'agitation.

Ik had 2 keer met een calamiteit te maken, chauffeur die bijna een uur te laat kwam met een tour en een gecancelde vlucht, en ze hielpen me hier uitstekend bij. Het zwembad was heerlijk en het is een rustige mooie omgeving en het ontbijt en diner wat je extra kan nemen was uitmuntend! Ik hoop ooit terug te komen.

Reviewed Sep 30, 2025We stayed here on our first night in Sri Lanka and had a lovely experience. The property is about 20–25 minutes from the city by car, right by the seaside, with its own pool and sun loungers. The pool area was definitely our favorite part — we were even allowed to swim around midnight, and the staff kindly let us relax by the pool until they closed the house around 1 AM. There are only a few rooms in total; we were a group of five and booked two rooms in the main building. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great as well — we were served omelettes, a fresh fruit plate, different kinds of bread and pancakes. Since we arrived very early in the morning, we asked if we could check into one of the rooms before the official check-in time. They offered us one room for half price, which we appreciated as we were exhausted from the flight. Overall the staff were very polite and helpful, especially one gentleman who assisted us with transportation arrangements. The shower could have been a bit better due to the showerhead, but it wasn’t a real issue. We enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the team for their hospitality.

Reviewed Sep 17, 2025We would have loved to stay here longer, but this was unfortunately our last night in Sri Lanka. I could have stayed in the pool all day! It's quite a magnificent home, with some unique fish tanks. The hosting was fantastic, and the meals were served with such panache - it felt like a really special way to end the trip.
If you're very noise-sensitive, ask to stay in a room that isn't near to the fish tanks - they can be a little noisy. Be aware that there is a lot of water around the property, so you'll need to be aware of mosquitoes. We'd have liked a paved path to our room in the garden - we accidentally tracked mud in from the lawn.

No pudimos ver los alrededores porque llegamos de noche y nos fuimos de madrugada pero parecía estar en un entorno muy bonito, y la piscina era increíble.
Parecía la casa de alguien, decoración muy antigua y cargada con plantas y peceras por todas partes, lo que hacía que la casa oliera a agua estancada. En la habitación se colaban hormigas y otros bichitos desde la zona principal. Ubicación lejos del aeropuerto (30').

The garden is like a little tropical heaven and the pool was incredible. Breakfast was amazing and we were at the start of our honeymoon and the owners prepared us a milk rice dish as well for the special occasion. Couldn't have asked for a better place to start our trip.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2025What’s not to like! Beautiful well kept gardens, with a large pool and seating around it. Short walk to and from the main house to our room. The breakfast was delicious. We were offered a variety of Sri Lankan food which added to the experience. The best part, was meeting Sanjeewa. He was incredibly welcoming, offering a sweet treat and iced tea whilst we waited for our room to be ready (we arrived a few hours early). Thank you for such a wonderful start to our trip.

Location is really peaceful especially given how close to the airport we were - lagoon on one side and beach on the other. Breakfast was fantastic- all my Sri Lankan favourites! We had two rooms they were clean and well presented. Nice quiet air-conditioning. Size of the room fine but not as big as some places we've stayed and this was one of the more expensive places we have stayed at.

Reviewed Mar 7, 2025we absolutely loved our stay at Villa Sarakkuwa. I think this might be the best place to stay a few nights after arriving or before leaving Sri Lanka. It is very close to the airport. They even helped us arrange a transport for very cheap. We had a very early flight and didnt want to risk that no Pickme would be close by. The Villa and the garden are beautiful and decorated with so much care and love for the detail. As they only have a few rooms it feels like a private stay in a deluxe house. We have stayed here at the end of our trip and this was the first accommodation where there was so much detail and love put into the design and functionality. The pool was amazing and so was the breakfast. It was a mixture of Sri Lankan and western food. We had a few places where we were disappointed by the breakfast options when only western food was offered but here we got a great mix of foods and were very happy.

We enjoyed our last evening here before we had to leave at 2 am in the morning from the airport. The hosts are very welcoming and even got up at 2 am to give us a take away breakfast and to say goodbye. We definitely would stay here again!

There were lots of places in the property to relax in such as pool lounges, beanbags, a hammock as well as indoor spaces. The couple hosting the property provided a fantastic service and delicious meals. Nice to be located away from the busy centre of Negombo with the lagoon at the bottom of the garden and a short walk to the beach and a nice little cafe.

The lovely gentleman on duty made us feel so at home and comfortable. It’s about a minute walk to a beautiful beach that hardly had any people, and then a peaceful view of the lagoon from the property. A great place to decompress before heading home.

Reviewed Feb 12, 2025Tilanka and Sanjive are excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful with organising excursions and drivers. And breakfast and especially dinner were very delicious! The villa ist extraordinary beautiful, with the lovely pool and garden. Everything is very well kept! We enjoyed every minute!

Could have used a little more furniture in the deluxe studio - were tripping around our suitcases to get to the bed. No refreshments on offer, and no fridge in room if you wanted to get your own from the shops.

Reviewed Jan 2, 2025Location is fantastic- it is on the lagoon and a 50mtr walk from the sea. The property is well maintained, room was spacious and the staff was courteous.
They didn't accept payment online or through credit card. With the currency so devalued, it becomes hard to carry cash around the country so much.
