刚到达老板就送上了一杯西瓜汁，非常清爽！入住的房间很大，干净整洁，有种误入森林秘境的感觉，额外提一点，可以直接在住宿的位置点餐，老板手艺非常好，包含的早餐丰盛美味

Abbiamo scelto la capanna ma non era molto pulita e c’era qualche scarafaggio morto in bagno. Prevedibile per una struttura del genere ma con qualche accortezza di pulizia sarebbe stato meglio

Boa relação qualidade preço. Para passar uma noite, serve. O dono organizou um safari de meio dia ao parque de Udawalawe e foi muito bom.

O ar condicionado funciona mal e foi uma noite com muito calor. O quarto pidia estar um pouco mais cuidado.

Das Personal war extrem herzlich, hat uns Willkommens Drinks & Essen gemacht. Die Safari konnte man problemlos durch das Hotel buchen und wurde dort abgeholt.

Die Unterkunft war etwas schwierig zu finden aufgrund Google Maps

Wunderschönes Zimmer, gefühlt mitten im Nirgendwo. Perfekter Ort zum Entspannend. Das Frühstück der netten Dame war ausergewöhnlich, der Wassermelonensaft den es hier gab war so so lecke.

The rooms were a cool style made from the rock face and wood.

Just a lot of ants and bugs in our room that we couldn’t do anything about.

The location and accommodation are excellent and the price is really affordable

Ants were a slight issue in the bathroom, and A/C not super powerful. Other than that, outstanding value.

Wir hatten das offene Zimmer und haben dort eine sehr komfortable Nacht verbracht. Das Abendessen sowie Frühstück war sehr gut und unsere hosts total nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben auch über das Hostel die Safari gemacht und hatten einen eigenen Wagen

We stayed in a balcony room which was spacious and clean. Greeted by lovely staff who assisted with our safari bookings and even took us out for an afternoon sunset drive. Great home cooked meal from the hosts family, beautiful service.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lizard Safari Lodge! One of the highlights of our visit was the incredible safari experience at Udawalawe National Park. The host arranged everything seamlessly at a very reasonable price, and National park entrance fee has a discounted ticket price for Indian passport holders, which was a lovely thing. The safari itself was unforgettable — our driver was knowledgeable and patient, making sure we didn’t miss anything. We were lucky enough to spot almost all the animals the park is known for, which made the experience even more special. Coming to the food, it was simply outstanding. We enjoyed a delicious rice and curry meal with a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, each one flavorful and perfectly prepared. Truly one of the best meals we had during our trip! The stay was calm, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing — just what you need after a day of adventure. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The host and his wonderful family went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They were genuinely caring, attentive, and always ready to help, without the slightest hesitation. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Udawalawe — it’s not just a stay, it’s an experience!

Das ist äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie haben extra Mangos gekauft für einen Mangosaft (natürlich haben wir für den Saft gezahlt). Die Lage ist gut für eine Safari im Nationalpark. Der Preis für eine Safari direkt über die Unterkunft ist auch fair. Das Frühstück war vollkommen ausreichend

Es wird zwar Abendessen angeboten, leider gab es aber keine Menü-Karte, in der Preise zu erkennen waren. Dazu spricht das Personal kein gutes Englisch, um Preise o.Ä. erfragen zu können. Der Preis für vier Personen für Curries mit Reis erschien mir im Nachhinein dann etwas hoch

Tout était parfait ! Chambre très agréable et impeccable, lit très confortable, repas du soir et petit déjeuner délicieux, hôtes très agréable et aidant, nous avons passé un très bon moment dans ce logement. Nous avons également réalisé un safari que nous avons apprécié, nous avons pu voir voir de nombreux éléphants et notre guide semblait respectueux de ces derniers. Le prix était tout à fait correct pour le logement et le safari. Je recommande ++ vous ne serez pas déçu.

Il n'y a rien que nous n'ayons pas aimé dans ce logement. Une petite poubelle dans la chambre ou côté salle de bain peut cependant être pratique :)

A cute little lodge in a private family run property, hidden away, so nice and quiet. Facilities are simple but perfectly adequate for our two nights. Safari arranged for us two, with a great driver who clearly had in-depth knowledge of all the animals and very good English. Dinner was amazing! ( why do they call it rice n curry? When there’s so much more to it!) This was a small bowl of meat(bone-in) and six lovely vegetable curries- delicious, and very good value, served promptly and cheerfully by the lady of the house.

Some facilities were a little basic, but it wasn’t a problem.

Good place to go for the safari. It's an open, tent like room with moskito nets. Perfect for the local climate. The host is really nice

We loved the stay and they arranged our safari for a very honest and good price! Hope they get a lot of nice tourists because they deserve it! Allot of respect for their work 🙏🏻

The accommodation was perfect. We were even able to change rooms without any problems and the family who owned it was very nice. They kept looking after our son so that we could eat in peace. It's really worth stopping there and enjoying the extraordinary hospitality. Simply top!

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely excellent. The lodge organised a safari for us which was fantastic, great value for money and the guide was brilliant.

The Lizard safari Lodge is super cool, beautiful room, all wood, mosquito net Jasmine blooming on the way, it’s all there! The owner was friendly but the family living there was the most beautiful encounter I had in Sri Lanka so far. So helpful and welcoming, I had some delicious food and a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for the time!

Staff was helpful - big size rooms. The Mosquito nets are needed but watch as the mosquito inside the nets. I wanted to do a sharing safari to save costs as I’m solo traveller! no one at hotel could help me & I only had choice to book keep to myself which isn’t good! They need find a way to get sharing jeeps for people in the village. As solo travellers, backpackers don’t have £55 to throw at Jeep safaris & it’s a shame as too many jeeps empty in park w 1 person in jeeps & loads seats empty. Not good for animals all these jeeps..

I thought my room was the solid room from photos with AC & I got the open room w no walls. So the rain for hours hit the tin metal roof very load. There was rats in the room…due to it being so open.

Friendly staff, excellent food (dinner was 2000 rupees). Though cheap, expect to be asked to use their safari service - this was reasonably priced.

The room was spacious and it felt a bit like being in a jungle camp, perfect preparation for the safari tour the next day. Host was very friendly and accommodating. He runs safaris in Udawalawe NP and arranged for me to join another group so I could share costs. The half day safari was excellent. He found lots of elephants and other animals stopped long enough to take good photos and enjoy the animals.

It was far away from any restaurants.

You have to do the safari with them, but we did not have the chance to share safary car. A lot of car empty. Bad for animals.

Nandu took really care of me during my stay. As others already stated, the food of his Mum was just awesome and a lot. The same for the safari, just great. Special highlight was the card game night. Wifi was also very fast. Thanks for the nice stay!

Great host, they picked us up and dropped us again at the bus station, cooked a lot of vegetarian food for us, and helped us to find a shared safari jeep tour :)

The room was extremely good value, comfy bed, mosquito net, air con and an en suite with a great dinner and breakfast included. Nandu gave us an amazing safari tour in the morning which we’d highly recommend doing

Tour with Nandu was excelent, real professional and stops when you want it in the animal park. Also their meals were really excellent dinner and breakfast just jammy. Also he comes to pick you up with his jeep at the bus station included in the prize. No problem with musquitos and he served delicious old Arrack as a real guest and welcome drink together with home made fruit juice. I really recommend his hotel and him as a guide.!

The owner of the property asked if we wanted to purchase a safari package with him, to which we said no as we did not have time. The owner then proceeded to ask us to pay for our breakfast the following morning (breakfast was included in the booking price). The owner falsely advertises prices for rooms online. If you don’t use him for a safari tour then he makes the stay uncomfortable and asks for additional payments from you. We were very disappointed in our stay and made to feel extremely unwelcome once the owner knew we wouldn’t be using his safari services. Our stay has been reported to Booking.com.

Best Safari guide ever, Nandu (guide and owner of the property) was very nice and calm. Drove us to a lunch place and took us back so we don't have to walk in the heat. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Owner showed us many different animals that we never seen before, very interesting experience. The dinner family made was delicious also.

Location is a bit far from anything so not very walkable.

Stylized apartments, very comfortable. The owners organize an elephant-watching tour. There is a catering service. The air conditioning was working properly, there is an electric kettle and tea and coffee

We booked the room for two nights for a very low price, the room had a great lodge style. The whole family and especially Nandu were really helpful. His mother made the best food, we really enjoyed it. We also booked a safari with Nandu where he did his very best to show us as many animals as possible.

There’s not much in the neighbourhood but I think that goes for the whole of Udawalawe

We had a fantastic stay at Lizard Safari Lodge. The rooms are clean and well kept, with a nice big bed, mosquito net and fan. Our room had a balcony which was great to sit out on in the late afternoon. Dinner was delicious on both nights of our stay (as was breakfast) with a good selection of food and very generous portion sizes! Nandu could not have been kinder, taking us on a tour of the village and to a local swimming spot on the afternoon of our arrival, and providing snacks and ice creams. He also organised our safari in Udawalawe with an experienced driver who ensured we had a fantastic and memorable day. All in all a great Lodge, with friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff making it one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!

It was not at all like the photos. Under construction and smelled like wet concrete. Expected to walk through a common bathroom to get to our room. Redeeming grace, his brother has a nearby lodge, Ele Camp, also in Udawalawa, where we were given a nice room at same price. A nice situation with pool, grounds and restaurant.

Staff really friendly and helpful, we weren’t expecting 5 star but visit marred by the rat that gnawed through our backpack while in the bedroom and ate some biscuits that were in their. It also ate some of the soap in the bathroom

10 min walk into city centre, clean rooms with nice safari feel (wood/stone). Amazing breakfast with heaps of variety, best we’ve had in Sri Lanka

Great stop over the night before our safari! Delicious BBQ for dinner and packed lunch to take on safari. Room was like a tree house, cosy, clean and nice to hear the wildlife outside whilst we slept!
