Very clean Great location if you want to explore the nearby rocks

El desayuno es riquísimo, y el señor que lo lleva es encantador! Es guay alojarse, pero tened en cuenta que está en medio de la vegetación, hay muchos bichos!

Las sábanas estaban un poco sucias, la mosquitera estaba un poco rota. Vi la cabaña un poco dejada.

The owner was very friendly and ready to help at any moment. The location was perfect, between the lions rock and Piridungala, it’s just hard to go back home without a tuktuk at night because the road doesn’t have lights but our stay was very quiet and nice.

Die Lage war fantastisch, der Pool toll, alles ist mitten in der Natur. Der Besitzer und das Personal waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich und halfen uns die Touren zu organisieren.

The location inside the jungle

We booked three rooms. When we arrived, we saw monkeys swimming in the pool. This made us uncomfortable and changed our mood because we had planned to use the pool. The owner frequently checked on our rooms at night. Since we were staying as a group, it was normal for us to sit outside our rooms, talk, and spend time together. We felt uncomfortable being repeatedly asked to close the doors or being watched while we were simply enjoying our time together. The water pressure in the bathroom was not strong enough to have a proper shower. The area around the hotel was not very clean. Overall, we were disappointed with some aspects of our stay, especially the cleanliness, water pressure, and privacy.

We loved the friendly staff, pool and location. A great place to stay for our family.

The poor old gent running it needs help to manage the place but he was very accomodating to our feedback and willing to help accomodate our every request. I wish him and his staff well and hope may more guests come and visit

El personal era maravilloso. El dueño fue súper atento en todo momento a la par que servicial. Se aseguró de que no nos faltara nada y ahuyentaba a los monos para que no hubiera molestias. Un trato excelente e inmejorable. Volveríamos sin dudarlo.

Der Pool ist schön, dort kann man den Nachmittag gut verbringen. Die Zimmer sind mit Klimaanlage und große Betten sowie Kühlschrank gut ausgestattet.

Die Anlage ist etwas ungepflegt, für das Geld ist es aber alles akzeptabel. Erfüllt gut den Zweck. Das Frühstück ist etwas lieblos.

The staff was realy kind especialy the old guy in the reception. Breakfast was nice. The Pool is nice.

The location is realy far from the center. Its dangurous at nights because of a wild elephents..so you can't walk. the drivres takes more money because they afraid. The room is pretty poor. The water was hot but the stream was realy low.

the Thick Forest is honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The host is an awesome guy, super friendly and welcoming, and I’ll genuinely miss him! He even speaks a little Arabic, which was a nice surprise 😂 The breakfast was amazing, the place itself is beautiful, and they even gave us a scooter so we could explore Sigiriya. We had so much fun here and made some really great memories. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Sigiriya. I’d definitely come back!

El alojamiento es perfecto , tiene lo que necesitas para descansar, darte un buen baño y estar a un paso de todo ya sea con bici o tuktuk por sigiriya. Desde nuestra habitación se veía lions rock, pero sin duda LO MEJOR de todo fue su anfitrión. Amable, atento , tuvimos un par de problemas en la habitación con unas tuberías y lo solucionó en seguida, siendo esto en plena madrugada. Debes saber que está en medio del bosque, pura selva, si te dan miedo los insectos o eres escrupuloso mejor no vayas, convives con todos. El precio es baratísimo y el desayuno muy rico.

Struttura immersa nel verde , abbiamo soggiornato nella casetta sull albero , un esperienza davvero immersiva con la natura , il propietario è gentilissimo ha organizzato per noi un safari dove abbiamo visto numero elefanti a pochissima distanza . Ottima colazione homemade con frutta fresca .

Pool was not cleaned, Mobile connection very poor. Wifi available but sometimes it doesn't work. The shower pressure was low (hot water pump). In the nice environment need's to be more cleaned.its better if they keep a working table.

Tolle Lage und sehr hilfsbereite Menschen. Die Safari mit Sandun ist besonders toll! Man kann mit den Fahrrädern tagsüber zum Lion rock usw. Allerdings ist die Straße gefährlich für Fahrradfahrer, also aufpassen!

Thick Forest has an absolutely amazing location, surrounded by lush greenery and nature. 🌿 The property is also pretty close to the main spots, which makes it convenient for exploring the area. I stayed in the tree house, and while the experience was beautiful, it was a little uncomfortable at night because of the heavy wind noise up there, which made it difficult to sleep. Overall, it was good stay

El personal muy muy amable

La posizione è ottima per chi desidera visitare Pidurangala e Lion Rock senza stare in mezzo al traffico e il caos che si crea a Sigiriya; lo staff molto cordiale, sorridente e disponibile per aiutarti in tutto ciò che ti serve; la casa sopraelevata nella foresta regalava un panorama sia su Lion rock che Pidurangala; la piscina non grande ma davvero una chicca e molto piacevole per un momento di relax.

La nostra camera era accogliente ma necessita di un po’ di manutenzione e restyling soprattutto nel bagno, ma come esperienza nella foresta ci si adatta.

Llegamos tarde y nos prepararon un café buenísimo. Fueron en todo momento super amables y el entorno inmejorable.

Die Lager war super man hatte ihnen Blick auf den Lions Rock. Zudem konnte man sein TukTuk Vorort parken. Der Pool war auch sauber und für die Unterkunft auch echt groß.

Leider war das Baumhaus nicht besonders sauber und wir hatten in der ersten Nacht eine Maus. Auf Nachfrage wurde jedoch eine Falle aufgestellt.

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ces petites cabanes nichées dans la forêt. C’est vraiment une chouette expérience à vivre un fois. Les cabanes donnent vue sur le rocher du lion. Le personnel est au petit soin pour que nous ne manquions de rien ! Tout était parfait

Wat een fantastische sfeer hangt er. Het personeel was heel aardig en meedenkend. En de locatie is gewoon super. Slapen in een boomhut in een bos. Echt een ervaring om niet te missen.

De binnenkant van de boomhutten was wat oudbollig. Ook hingen er niet voor alle ramen gordijnen, wat zorgt voor vroeg licht. Wij hebben ons hier niet mega aan gestoord.

Être dans une forêt au contact de la nature est vraiment cool. Le propriétaire est adorable ainsi que ses employés. La piscine était nickel aussi

La habitación era inhabitable. La casa arbol se movía mucho por el viento y las instalaciones como el baño eran un horror. Además había heces de roedores en la cama y por dentro de las tellas de las paredes sonaba a que habia algun animal dentro, probablemente algún ratoncito.

Wij denken dat in een fles water die we gekregen hadden kraanwater zat. Beiden ze we de dagen erna ziek geworden. We weten het niet zeker. Maar iets om even te checken voor je het op drinkt :)

La struttura è immersa nella foresta. Ha una piscina con acqua fresca, una bella terrazza dove si mangia con magnifica vista sulla roccia di Sigiriya. Personale davvero disponibile e colazione ricca e buona.

The stay is in the middle of the forest, very fun to stay. The swimming pool is extremely clean even in the middle of the forest. The host is super kind and is always there to help me adjust my planning (last minute changes)

Not that I did not like it but good to know that the coverage of the internet is quite low it makes sense with the location within the forest.

Difficultés pour se deplacer la nuit. En journée c'est très simple, l'hôte met des vélos à disposition. Mais la nuit il faut faire attention aux éléphants.

Gorgeous treehouses with spectacular views of Sigiria Rock and Pidurangala Rock. Pool was beautiful. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly - they gave good reliable information and organised an excellent elephant safari for us. Breakfast was incredible - was the best breakfast of our trip!

Location is good for Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala. The Boss seems like a nice man.

The pillows and towels stank of mould. From 7:30/8pm each night there were workers there scraping with shovels and talking loudly, until after 11 or close to midnight. For a jungle resort with nice facilities it is not acceptable to have loud chattering voices and maintenance noises carrying into guests rooms after dark. It is not one of the cheaper places and I expected peace and quiet at night time because of its secluded location. There was a noisy water pump below my treehouse which lit up with a white LED every few minutes at night time, illuminating the whole area. The curtains are also thin and don't block out the numerous white LEDs there are on the property. Also, a member of staff stole cash from my room. First time in years of travelling that this has happened.

The "Thick Forest" situated in a great location near the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion Rock) provides easy access to key attraction, including Pidurangala Rock for panoramic views. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed newly constructed swimming pool facilities.

Amazing pool! Great staff always around to help if you need anything. You feel like you’re in the bush with a lovely view of Lion Rock from our treehouse balcony. Within walking distance to both rocks and some local restaurants just down the road. Breakfasts were good.

Großartiger Pool mit toller Beleuchtung, Unterkunft mit Blick auf den Lion Rock. Vielen Dank für die tolle Nacht vor Ort und die Organisation eines Tuktuk in den frühen Morgenstunden, um den Sonnenaufgang zu sehen.

Superbe immersif dans la jungle. Les singes sont présents tout autour dans les arbres (bien fermer la fenêtre de la salle de bain. Ils adorent le dentifrice !!!). Chambre très spacieuse très confortable. Petit déjeuner copieux. Une belle piscine entourée de verdure tropicale. Le lieu est assez sauvage mais très bien entretenu, beaucoup de charme. Des vélos sont à disposition gratuitement pour aller visiter les sites archéologiques à proximité (5-10 min max). A 15 minutes restaurants et commerces sur la route de Dambulla.

Eviter absolument le premier bungalow dans les arbres à l'entrée à droite, très bruyant car la route passe juste à coté. Après une nuit insupportable nous avons changé pour une superbe chambre sans supplément.

The location is good.

I'm a really chill person but the property owner was really annoying following us around, asking millions of unnecessary questions and thinking we will leave without paying.

We initially were hesitant on arrival at the property as it was a little out of town and looked a little run down. We were quickly made to feel welcome by the staff . They couldn’t do enough for us. Organising tuk tuks, preparing dinner etc. the room, although dated was clean and we all had a good sleep. They even prepared a 5am breakfast for us so we could take on our tour to Lion rock. Overall a great stay

La chambre aurait méritée un petit nettoyage et nous n’avions qu’un drap ce qui est un peu léger quand les nuits sont fraîches.

Wir haben die Unterkunft aufgrund der dschungelhaften Atmosphäre mit dem Baumhaus und der Umgebung gebucht und waren von dem Charme begeistert :) Wie beschrieben, gibt es keine Klimaanlage und man darf bei einem Baumhaus auch nicht mit dichten Wänden rechnen, womit es natürlich mehr für Naturliebhaber gemacht ist. Aber genau wegen dem Flair haben wir es gebucht. Trotz Wärme haben wir super geschlafen! Die Lage war vor allem für den Sonnenaufgang auf dem Pidurangala Fels super, da wir nicht so früh aufstehen mussten, wie viele andere Reisende. Die Gastgeber waren super nett, haben uns ein tolles Frühstück vorbereitet und uns auch bei der Transportmiete geholfen.

N'est pas loin du Rocher du Lion.

Il y avait des travaux partout, du bruit, des arbres oui mais non entretenus donc qui cachaient la vue. Vraiment déçue car ne correspond pas aux photos.

Lo que más nos gustó fue el servicio prestado por sus trabajadores, en especial Kavindu. Estaban siempre atentos, nos llevaban y traían del centro al alojamiento y nos prestaron bicis gratis. El desayuno era totalmente local y muy muy abundante. Además nos daban 1 botella de agua diariamente. La ubicación hacia del alojamiento algo único ya que estás literalmente dentro de la selva, oyes los animales y sientes tranquilidad todo el día. Tienes unas vistas directas al lion rock.

La cabane pour 8 personnes était super. Le petit déjeuné était bon et copieux. La climatisation est un vrai plus et la literie était bonne. La wifi fonctionnait moyennement. Une piscine est actuellement en construction, cela sera un gros plus pour l’établissement

Perfect location to easily reach Lions Rock and Pidurangala rock in the early morning. Breakfast was probably the best we had in Sri Lanka. The hosts have been amazing and very helpful, we just wish we could stay longer. Highly recommended.

Lots of trees around there and beautiful view to Sigiriya rock front and back side Pidurangala rock my kids had great experience.. had a awesome break fast with lots of varieties of traditional food.

I think it's better if there is a swimming pool.we saw it's under construction. Most probably next few months it will be ready to use.

Slightly out of town meant it was quieter and more relaxed than some of the other accommodation options Free bicycles were really helpful to allow us to explore the area and get into town

Limited food options - we had breakfast one day but dinner isn't an option so you have to go out for it (but we were warned not to walk or cycle after dark because of the risk of wildlife). The host kept insisting on me giving a 10* review "8 or 9 is no use, it has to be 10". This was uncomfortable and awkward. This place is nice enough but is not a 10* place.

The family is very accommodating, they still waited for us even if its late check in The treehouse. they have constructed it as a treehouse outside but inside looks like a hotel.

The view of the Lion Rock and the Piduranga Rock is not visible in our room. Maybe because we book that simplest one.

It’s a tree house so of course it’s not top facilities in terms of bathroom, aircon and no swimming pool. Nothing I didn’t know when booking.
