The family we stayed with was absolutely lovely and we had beautiful home cooked dinner and breakfast.

Perhaps having some fly and insect repellent in the dining area would be good.

Beautiful property , fantastic hosts and all in a magical setting. We had a wonderful dinner and probably the best breakfast of our 14 night stay in Sri Lanka - it was all absolutely delicious. We also went on the most brilliant safari with Vishi ( organised by Mansala Safari house ) and hands down it was the best elephant experience of our lives.

Abbiamo mangiato in struttura sia per colazione che per cena e il cibo si è rivelato abbondante e variegato, tutto cucinato benissimo. Proprietari gentilissimi. Consigliato vivamente!

Struttura bellissima e tenuta molto bene. La nostra camera era spaziosissima e aveva un balconcino privato che dava sul verde circostante. Ci hanno organizzato un safari al Parco Udawalawe che dista solamente 10 minuti ed è stata un'esperienza magica. Anche la colazione veramente impeccabile. Quanto alla cena, ci sono molti ristoranti raggiungibili facilmente a piedi.

We loved the quiet place in a little corner of paradise. Tiron and his family did everything to make us feel comfortable. They organized our safari with a take-away breakfast. Everything was really perfect. For us, it was the best meals we’ve had since the start of our stay in Sri Lanka.

The host was very friendly and the breakfast was very good with good amount of food. The rokms and bathrooms were very clean.

We had a fantastic stay. The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. They arranged an excellent safari for us, which was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed every meal. The property was very clean and well maintained, surrounded by beautiful greenery that created a peaceful atmosphere. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Amazing place! Comfortable room with great balcony, silent at night and very relaxing. Extremely clean. Amazingly kind family running the guesthouse. Delicious (huge) breakfast. Excellent safari experience with the guide booked through the guesthouse - he was very knowledgeable and I saw 40 elephants! The house is only 5-10 minutes walking to the bus stop, grocery store, and all the restaurants on the main road. Highly recommend!

Tolle Lage für eine Safari im Udawalawe National Park. Die Gastgeber haben uns die Safari und auch die Fahrten von Ella und im Anschluss runter an die Küste organisiert. Es gab eine Klimaanlage und einen Ventilator und ein sehr leckeres Frühstück.

Es gab ein paar Stellen die kaputt waren, wie z.B. Löcher in Bettwäsche, aber das fanden wir an sich nicht weiter schlimm.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und geräumig, die Betten sehr gemütlich, die Anlage insgesamt schön hergerichtet Tiron war großartig, super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben die Transfers und auch die Safari über ihn gebucht (eine absolute Empfehlung) und am Abend auch bei ihm frisch typisch sri lankisch gegessen. Für die 6-stündige Safari hat er uns extra morgens Frühstück vorbereitet und mitgegeben - bester Service! 😊

das Bad hat nur Gitter nach außen, das sollte einem bewusst sein (Insekten), hat uns aber nicht gestört

The property is fabulous and Tiron was a fantastic host. A beautiful home, well cared for home. A safari was arranged with his nephew driving us and this was a really good experience. Breakfast was amazing.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und geräumig. Die Lage der Unterkunft war top – zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und sympathisch, sodass man sich direkt wohlgefühlt hat. Auch das Frühstück war super: Es gab eine große Auswahl, sodass wirklich für jeden etwas dabei war. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

The staff were so very kind and genuine. They were very helpful and very hospitable. They did everything they could to make it a positive experience and stay, even organising a safari and transfers! I was blessed with a beautiful breakfast but felt so wasteful because it was too much to eat! Even a little welcome drink and snack was so kind and thoughtful!

The property was in a great location to get to safari and nearby activities. The room was very spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. The beds were very large and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the hosts were so lovely and friendly throughout our entire stay. We booked our safari via the host which was super easy and a fantastic experience. The owners were so lovely and helpful - there was a big storm when we stayed there and they came and reassured us that the power would come back on soon! They also made us breakfast for when we got back from safari, and offered to make us a packed breakfast had we preferred that! They really made us feel like we were being welcomed into their home, which was so nice. You’re a short walk from restaurants on the main high street, too, which is helpful as there’s no dinner option on site.

The facilities are quite basic - we only stayed for one night but I can imagine a longer stay would have been more difficult due to a lack of pool etc. The outdoor bathroom was great but also a bit scary in the early morning with all the bugs!

We had dinner and breakfast at Mansala and both were amazing, the staff was incredible and so kind. The cook was not working due to the Sri Lanka New Year and they still pulled it together to cook us an incredible meal. The chicken for dinner was the best I had in Sri Lanka. They also organized a safari that picked us up from the accommodation and was great.

They are quick to respond and helped me organize an incredible safari experience. The bed was very comfortable. I ate dinner with them on the night of my arrival and it was delicious! The bathroom was beautiful as well.

Unser Aufenthalt war eine 10/10. Tiron hat sich um alles gekümmert. Er hat einen Fahrer organisiert der uns um 19:30 Uhr in Hiriketiya abgeholt hat. Das Zimmer war super sauber und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Safari startete um 5:30 Uhr und hat 20.000 rs gekostet. Die Safari war eine so tolle Erfahrung und der Guide war super nett und hat uns viel erklärt. Wir waren tatsächlich alleine im Jeep. Wir haben Elefanten, Pfauen, Adler, Krokodile und ein seltenes Samba Reh gesehen. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Nach der Safari, die ging ca. 4h, haben wir ein leckeres Frühstück bekommen. Tiron hat dann ebenfalls einen Fahrer organisiert der uns nach Ella gefahren hat. All in all das alles super geklappt genau wie wir es uns gewünscht haben! Die Fahrten waren angenehm und zu einem fairen Preis. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Incredible stay. The family that run Mansala are so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to provide us with a delicious dinner and breakfast. The room was so spacious, clean and comfortable. The safari Mansala organised for us was brilliant the guide was so knowledgeable, took his time and ended up staying an extra hour so we didn't miss out on all the elephants sightings.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und die gesamte Familie ist super nett. Die gesamte Anlage und Garten sind sehr hübsch und grün. Wir hatten das Bungalow gemietet und hatten viel Platz und ein wunderbares Bad. Auch das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Safari wurde super organisiert und hat sehr Spaß gemacht. Das mitgegebene Essen war super lecker und vielfältig! Danke für den Aufenthalt!

Das Bungalow ist wirklich großzügig gebaut. Mit ein paar dekorativen Detail könnte man das Zimmer noch gütlicher gestalten zB ein paar deutliche Sessel. :)

The property is some minutes drive from a safari entrance, which is not a problem, because the owners can arrange transport to pick you up at the accommodation and drive you directly to safari. They can also arrange safari for you. It is a huge mansion, very well maintained by the owner. He and the staff had always smile on their face, making sure we felt pampered there. The rooms are spacious, with a huge bathroom partially outdoors, which was a highlight of our stay (felt so exotic).There was also a patio, where we could sit in the evening. Breakfast was a buffet style, the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka (so tasty). They exceeded our expectations.

Alles frisch gekocht und nur für uns! Die Lage zur Safari ist auch gut und der Gastgeber hilft gerne zum organisieren. Vielen Dank, gern wieder!

Für den Preis ist die Unterkunft wirklich unschlagbar! Mitten im Grünen, sehr ruhig und super sauber. Die Gastgeber waren super nett und haben sowohl eine wunderschöne Safari, als auch unseren Transport organisiert. Absolute Empfehlung!

Unserer Aufenthalt im Mansala war wunderschön. Die Gastgeber Familie ist sehr nett und herzlich. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und mit einer großen Terrasse. Auch die Safari die wir über das Hotel gebucht hatten war super. Ein Weitertransport zur nächsten Unterkunft unserer Rundreise wurde ebenfalls organisiert und hat super geklappt. Auch das Frühstück und Abendessen war sehr lecker. Wir können das Mansala uneingeschränkt empfehlen

We had a brilliant day in Udawalele courtesy of the Mansala team’s hospitality and an enjoyable and informative safari which was seamlessly arranged for us. The food was also great. Overall, really good value for money.

Mansala is a small family run inn which is such a haven from all the traffic on the roads. We had our dinners there as the SL cooking offered was very delicious. We were in their newest bungalow which has a lot of space with 2 chairs. We scheduled our safari tour through Mansala. The driver they used was a very careful driver and did not speed through the park like you see other drivers doing. He is very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna of the park and could explain it well.

Wish there were a few hooks to hang clothes or at least drawers.

It was in a beautiful setting. It was really nice. The family were super excellent English very good excellent food for dinner and the breakfast were both amazing. The two family boys were happy and contented it was a wonderful stay

Absolute Empfehlung! Die ganze Familie ist sehr gastfreundlich, wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt + alles sauber. Wir haben vor ab mit Tiron geschrieben, dass wir auch eine Safari machen möchten und er hat sich um alles gekümmert. Wir waren mit allem super zufrieden und würden es jederzeit wieder buchen. Absolutes muss: das selbstgekochte Abendessen!!! Es war das beste srilankische Essen, dass wir während unserer ganzen Reise hatten - alleine deswegen wäre es schon eine Übernachtung wert. Danke, für alles.

Byl jsem už podruhé a čím dál lepší. Ubytování moc krásné, zahrada boží, majitel skvělý ( vše zařídí ) a majitelka je nejlepší kuchařka na Lance. Nejen super snidane, ale doporučuji dat si i večeři. Mockrát děkujeme a určitě jsem nebyl naposledy. ❤️

We’ve only stayed at Mansala Safari House for one day, but that one day was one of the sweetest days of our entire Sri Lanka vacation. The hotel is in a very peaceful location surrounded by greenery. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Dinner and breakfast were amazing. Believe me, they were some of the best meals we had throughout our entire vacation. You can consider this place not only for safaris but also for relaxing in a quiet and charming place.

Absolutely loved this stay! The hosts went above and beyond, we loved the cake <3 - The room is perfect and the food was delicious and more than enough. The hosts organised a great safari for us and also organised our onward travel to Mirissa which was greatly appreciated. We would 100% recommend this place!

After an afternoon safari, we spent a night at Mansala Safari House. Before our arrival, Tiron answered all our questions promptly. He helped us organise transfers and an incredible safari. To top it off, Tiron’s wife cooked us a wonderful curry buffet dinner. We’ve been in Sri Lanka for nearly a month now, and the curry was the best we’ve had on our entire trip. Our room had air conditioning and comfortable beds. The property is very well cared for.

Wir waren für eine Nacht mit vier Personen in einem der Familienzimmer. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich sehr schön abseits von der Straße und dem Ortskern gelegen und war somit sehr ruhig. Die Gastfamilie hat uns herzlich mit Erfrischungsgetränken empfangen. Das Familienzimmer und das Bad sind sehr gut ausgestattet und alles war sehr sauber. Wir hatten vorab ein Curry & Rice Dinner bestellt und das Essen war hervorragend. Auch das Frühstück war super. Die Unterkunft hat für uns die Nationalpark-Safari organisert, die wirklich empfehlenswert ist. Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen und wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Mansala Safari House. The place is family owned and the couple who runs it were lovely hosts, super helpful and kind. Both the room and house are absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was great and we also ate both lunch and dinners that were all delicious. We booked safari through them and our guide, Vishwa, was super knowledgeable, respectful of the animals and knew the area like the back of his hand. Would absolutely recommend everyone to stay here and would definitely stay again!

We spent only a night here but the stay was fairly comfortable, safe & dinner was great! The hosts were warm and dinner was home-cooked.

Bathroom attached is semi-open. If you are a city person like I am, you might want to be more prepared mentally/(with mosquito repellent, etc.)

This is a beautiful welcoming home stay where the owners will do anything to help you. Be sure to eat their home cooked food here at least once. Turn left out of the property and walk up to the main road for other dining options. Breakfast is very nice.

The property will benefit greatly from a pool one day. My only gripe was the sound of the water pump on the roof above our room, which actuates any time a tap, shower, or toilet cistern runs. Fortunately this is rare once everyone has gone to bed.
