Our second stay at The Standard, Maldives was every bit as special as we remembered, and we are leaving once again with the certainty that it will not be our last. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The service throughout our stay was excellent, always warm, attentive and professional, while still maintaining the relaxed atmosphere that makes this resort such a special place. We would particularly like to thank Hasan, who looked after us every morning at breakfast. His kindness, wonderful attitude and constant smile were such a lovely way to start each day. He was always attentive, cheerful and genuinely welcoming, and his service made our breakfasts even more enjoyable. A very special thank you also goes to Shahadhath, who took care of our room throughout our stay. He was incredibly attentive to every detail, while always being discreet, polite and respectful. Everything was taken care of perfectly, and his thoughtful service made us feel completely comfortable throughout our stay. We would also like to sincerely thank Zainu for his professionalism and dedication. He went out of his way to make sure everything during our stay was impeccable, and we truly appreciated his attention and willingness to help whenever needed. Returning to a hotel for a second time always comes with high expectations, especially when the first experience was so memorable. The Standard managed to make us fall in love with this place all over again. Thank you to the entire team for another wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to coming back for a third time.

I stayed at the resort from January 22 to January 25 on an all-inclusive package, and it was a wonderful experience. The welcome was warm, the cleanliness was excellent, and there was a great variety of activities. The Kids Club was outstanding. I especially loved the crystal-clear sea and the wide selection of delicious food. I would definitely return and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Very nice start and friendly staff

Well modern design room with ample of space. Reef are washed out due to global warming effect, but still plenty of colorful fishes, especially at the house reef that require you to pay more just for snorkeling. Having a dedicated host really enhance the experience - thank you Poula Maher.

Our stay here was simply outstanding. The highlight was the service. Staff, like Hasan and Shuria (I think that was her name!) were courteous, helpful and always with a smile. Shamaau, our host, was amazing and made sure we had the lay of the land so that we would be able to take full advantage of everything the Standard has to offer. The food was delicious! Our chef at Guduguda came out and gave us his personal attention as he described the tasty Maldivian food we had that night. He even gave us his recipe for chia pudding the next day at breakfast. The app is helpful for communication and scheduling, having bikes to ride around is just perfect, and all the colorful fish we saw snorkeling will always be a pleasant memory for us. All in all, an ideal 3 days of luxury and relaxation in an almost unreal setting of crystal clear waters, impeccable beaches and gorgeous views. Thanks to all of you at The Standard!!

We choose the resort for our Honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The room, the activities, the water world: it was truly breathtaking! We were absolutely amazed by the food, every dish was prepared with passion and presented with love and professionality. The whole staff was welcoming and cooperative, the spirit of the team was dynamic and warmth. At this point we would like to mention the team from Onda: manager Shingi with Linarah and Ziyan, they are working on highest standards. Another waiter who kept in our minds is Hassan from Kula restaurant, he was extremely engaged and caring. Last but not least we will thank our host Poula Maher. From arriving to leaving he always checked for our wellbeing. Also the service at the airport guaranted from the standard convinced us deeply. Congratulations for such amazing employees!!

Me and Sobah had such an amazing holiday at The Standard, Maldives. Everything about our stay was special, and we created so many beautiful memories together. A big thank you to Chef Rajesh and the whole kitchen and service team for always taking care of us and making sure we had a great experience. One of the most unforgettable experiences for us was the destination dining by the beach. It was such a romantic setup, and we were so happy to celebrate a special moment together in such a beautiful place. We spent 8 incredible nights at this resort in June, splitting our stay between an Ocean Beach Villa (4 nights) and an Ocean Water Villa (4 nights). We honestly loved both, but if we had to choose, the Beach Villa was slightly better for us. It felt more spacious inside, and the private courtyard in front was absolutely stunning – totally hidden from neighbours by lush tropical vegetation. The beach right by the villa was breathtaking. That said, the Water Villa had a huge advantage: we could slip into the ocean and swim straight to a beautiful reef within minutes. Snorkelling right on our doorstep was magical. The food throughout the resort was delicious – so much so that we were actually grateful there were no scales in the room! The à la carte restaurants are outstanding; our absolute favourite was Onda, but every meal impressed us. The cocktails were consistently excellent everywhere we went. Service was flawless from start to finish. A very special thank you to our butler Poula, who was an absolute star – he responded to every request instantly and truly made our holiday unforgettable. We cannot wait to return next year!

A great travel experience! It was my first time visiting this small island in the Maldives. The lagoon is beautiful, there are lots of little fish in the ocean, and the depth is just right for exploring. The meals were also fantastic, and many of the photos we took turned out amazing. Thanks to our butler Sherry for her service—everything was perfect.

The location is convenient. The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing.The rooms are big enough and quiet. Their service is very good，they are kind.Our host，Nyra is really nice and helpful.

The best vacation spot we have ever been to. Absolutely everything is perfect here: the island itself, the vegetation, the pleasant sand and the crystal clear blue water. The food is also beyond praise: for breakfast and dinner you could choose dishes and sweets from different countries' cuisines and try something new every day. But the most important thing here is the team that made every day of our stay on the island perfect and special. The service was impeccably good, every employee was as friendly as possible and ready to fulfill any request. I give this place a 100 out of 10, it's the best choice

We had an incredible stay at The Standard, Maldives for our honeymoon, and it truly became one of the most memorable experiences for my wife and me. The property itself is stunning. The lagoon is breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters that made every day feel special. Staying lagoon-facing was a real highlight. Being able to walk directly from the villa to the beach and back, rather than always using the normal walkways, made the whole experience feel even more connected to the island. The room was extremely comfortable, and being able to go in and out of the ocean so easily was amazing. Small touches like having snorkels and donut floaties in the room also added a lot to the overall experience. The facilities were excellent. For a private island, it was amazing to still have access to massages, tennis, a fully fitted gym, a pool table, shisha, water activities, and so many ways to relax or stay active. The resort has 4 restaurants and 3 bars, along with complimentary access to the gym, tennis, bicycles, and a range of island activities, which really helped make the stay feel effortless and full without ever feeling busy. The food was honestly amazing at every restaurant. Some of the meals were among the best we have had, and several dishes were genuinely unique. We would never have expected to have a passion fruit curry that was sweet and spicy at the same time, but it was incredible. The ingredients always felt fresh, the breakfast bread was amazing, and we really enjoyed taking our time over long, relaxed breakfasts each morning. A special thank you to Chef Rajesh, who made such amazing meals happen throughout our stay. He was always accommodating with my dietary restrictions and often created special dishes, which made the dining experience feel personal and thoughtful. The service and atmosphere were also a major part of what made the stay so great. Poula, our concierge, helped us throughout the entire stay and made everything feel smooth and well taken care of. Nelson, Harri, Arrun, and Ayu also added so much to the atmosphere with their warmth, positive energy, and kindness. They made the island feel welcoming every day. Overall, The Standard, Maldives was the perfect honeymoon escape. Beautiful waters, comfortable villas, amazing food, great facilities, and a team that made us feel genuinely looked after. We would highly recommend the property and are very grateful for such a special experience.

We had such a lovely stay at this resort honestly 🥹 The island is really small and quiet, which made it feel super peaceful and private the whole time. Exactly what we hoped for when booking the Maldives. The water villas are modern, beautiful and very clean, same with the pool areas. Everything just has a really cool vibe and feels well taken care of without being too “over the top”. The food was sooo good too. There was a lot of variety every day and we genuinely looked forward to dinner every evening lol. We stayed for quite a while and never got bored of the food. Also the staff deserves a huge thank you because everyone was incredibly friendly and sweet all the time. You can really tell they care about the guests and want people to have a good experience. There’s also way more to do than we expected. We played tennis, did watersports and there are some really nice excursions you can book as well. The house reef is beautiful for snorkeling and the resort provides snorkeling equipment which was super convenient. One of our fav moments was seeing eagle rays behind the spa, that was actually insane 😭 But at the same time the island is also perfect if you just want to relax and switch your brain off for a few days. Overall everything worked out perfectly for us and we felt comfortable from day one. We would definitely come back again <3 Really recommend this place if you want a relaxed Maldives trip with beautiful villas, good food and genuinely kind people.

This was my second resort ever and I felt like I was in White Lotus. The service was amazing and top notch. Whatever we needed, they had us covered after a simple phone call or message. The staff would happily greet us and make conversation. Shout out to our host Shamaau for helping us and being such a great guy! The room was well decorated and looked just like the photos. Very modern and well designed. There was a full on live coral reef right next to our overwater villa and all the snorkeling equipment was already provided in the room. I saw stuff that you would only see on National Geographic right next to where we slept. We came during the beginning of the rainy season, so weather wasn’t always great, but the staff was very accommodating and attentive to our needs and especially the excursions we signed up for.

I have just finished my second stay within six months at The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives, and once again it was an absolutely perfect experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like a member of the family. The warmth, kindness, and genuine care from the entire team made this vacation truly unforgettable. I would especially like to thank Youssef, Poula, Shengi, and Shak for their exceptional hospitality and attention throughout my stay. A special mention to Poula, who even visited me several times while being unwell himself — something I truly appreciated and will never forget. Shamaau made our honeymoon in the Maldives absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to help us plan excursions, activities, and special experiences that made our trip feel truly perfect. He was always incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, but what really stood out was his personality he was constantly smiling, laughing, and bringing such positive energy everywhere he went. Being around him made every excursion more fun and memorable, and he genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. The level of hospitality and attention he gave us was exceptional, and it honestly would not have been the same trip without him. He is a huge asset to the resort and deserves to be recognized for the amazing work he does. We also want to thank the other staff members who worked alongside him everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. But Shamaau truly went above and beyond, and we will always remember him as one of the highlights of our honeymoon.

We came for our honeymoon and had the best time ever!! Prettiest place! You will be in awe of the water and sea life! We loved finding amazing sea shells, seeing fish stingrays and sharks right off our bungalow. And our highlight was seeing manta rays and dolphins on lucky manta tour even though they are off season. It is a tiny island and easy to get around on bikes! The staff is sooo fun and welcoming. Our guide Shamaau went above and beyond he really felt like our friend and was always happy and smiling. We were so lucky to have him. They plan activities so you can choose to have a busy or relaxing day whatever you prefer. Food is yummy buffet is huge and chefs are soooo nice. We loved Onda restaurant the most!! It’s a must! It was a little rainy during these months but we still got plenty of sun and a nice sunburn! Maldives it worth the visit! We love the standard!

I had a wonderful stay at this resort . The snorkeling area was beautiful, and the food and service were excellent. I would especially like to thank Eva, our island host, for her care and attention throughout our stay. The main purpose of our trip was to celebrate our anniversary, and the team arranged a special dinner for us, which made the occasion even more memorable. There were a few arrangements that were missed despite being promised during the booking process, and we have shared this feedback with the front office manager and There are a few areas that could be improved. We encountered one staff member at the bar who was not very professional and did not treat us politely, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable However, this did not take away from our overall experience. We truly had an amazing time and would definitely return to this property in the future.

Excellent service. Superb food for most tastes, great attention to detail. Very comfortable and picturesque accommodations. Extraordinary place with the most crystal clear sea waters we have ever seen. So many species of fish! And being able to swim amongst them is such a treat. The facilities are top notch. Everything is clean and well kept. There is always service personnel available when you need something. And the system of bogies they have is great. You just call for one and in a few minutes they are knocking on your door. This is truly a Paradise!

A truly spectacular stay with my family at The Standard, Maldives. It was an unforgettable holiday; the food, hospitality, cocktails, views, room - all flawless. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive and lovely. They anticipated our needs, and went over and above expectations daily. The bar, restaurants, villa cleaning team - honestly couldn’t have made our trip better, just the nicest, most interesting people. Unfortunately we didn’t catch everyone’s names but we were overwhelmed with how genuine and lovely all of the staff were. Everyone knew our sons name and gave him lots of attention. Shamaau, our host was brilliant. My infant son’s eye got an infection and he sorted eye drops through the doctor without me even asking. Nothing was too much trouble and he kept us up to date on everything happening on the island daily. The restaurants were incredible, especially BBQ Shack which is a romantic beach set up and Onda, positioned on the end of a pier with beautiful interiors. We saw so much marine life under our villa and just walking around the island, sharks, sting rays & so many fish. Our villa (1 the residence) was spectacular, ocean views, a spacious pool, shade options outside for children & always spotless. It was an upgrade due to a problem with our original room. This was entirely the hotel thinking about our enjoyment and how to make sure we had a lovely trip, not us complaining, which really said a lot about the level of care & client satisfaction that the team strive for. The Standard were able to provide a lovely comfy cot for our baby & a potty for our toddler. Small touches making travelling with children easier. All inclusive was perfect - no hidden costs. Spa massage was brilliant and the spa itself was a lovely little slice of tranquility. We all loved the cinema under the stars, fire show, dolphin spotting, pool party, kayaking & kite flying and snorkelled everyday in the pristine waters. The music around the hotel was always on point and mornings & evenings DJ sessions really made the vibe. The only tiny bit of feedback would be to add a baby changing table to the toilets in the main area near the pool. Otherwise everything was beyond perfect. Thank you The Standard 💗 we will be back (which is unusual for us!)

Swimming alongside these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was both thrilling and surreal—an unforgettable adventure I will cherish forever. The resort also offered amazing dining options, relaxing spa treatments, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to disconnect and truly unwind. We had the most INCREDIBLE trip to The Standard! It was to celebrate my husband's birthday and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. It was far more beautiful in real life than it even is in the pictures - the colour of the water, the amazing tropical fish, the restaurants, the beach, the private pool - all fantastic. We stayed in an overwater bungalow and it was a great size too and lovely decoration. Poula was our host for the trip - his enthusiasm was fantastic and he was so helpful/gave us lots of tips and helped us book activities - he was absolutely brilliant! Other staff were also lovely and so friendly - we loved speaking to Si and Rabbi (sorry if I've spelt wrong) at various dinners too! Thank you so much Standard! Cannot recommend it enough - we hope to be back soon!

Gorgeous 5-star experience in the perfect location. Staff, including our personal concierge Shaamu, were extremely friendly and hospitable from start to finish. When I broke my phone, the concierge (Shaan) had it flown to Male for repairs and flown back! Food was excellent. Could not recommend more highly.

Like most people writing reviews for the Standard Maldives, we also had an incredible few days staying at the resort. Everything went exactly as we expected. The grounds, pool area, bungalows, main restaurant etc were every bit as beautiful in person as they are in photos. The snorkeling in the house reef was great, and compares well to places such as the Great Barrier Reef, Belize Reef, etc. What made the experience even better were the staff. Every single person provided great interactions and we received personalized attention throughout our stay. One server in the main restaurant though was a cut above the rest and truly lived and breathed service culture. Each of our days and at each of our meals, Hassan made it a point to find us and to make sure our beverage orders were placed without us needing to ask. He was the friendliest person we encountered during our stay and I hope the Standard looks to hire even more people that live up to this standard (no pun intended). Overall, we would definitely return. Thank you to the entire organization for making our holiday a memorable one!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives, and it was nothing short of magical — a true 10 out of 10 experience. We packed every day with activities: snorkeling at the incredible house reef (so vast I could swim for over two hours and still not cover the whole area), snorkeling under the dock at the dive center which is essentially a living aquarium with thousands of fish, boat rides, windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, a picnic on the baby island, floating breakfast at our villa, a lobster feast at sunset on our deck, private bachata lessons where we learned an entire song as complete beginners, yoga, aerial yoga, a sound bath meditation, tennis (though the humidity made long rallies tough!), a painting class, and I even got to play one of our wedding songs on the ukulele. I also took a resin art class with the resident artist Hridoy Khan, which stretched over two days since my schedule was so full — he was incredibly attentive during our private session and even captured some great videos of the process. The snorkeling alone would have made the trip worth it; we saw reef sharks almost every day and even spotted an eagle ray gliding by while dining at Onda. Our host Poula went above and beyond to make our honeymoon celebration feel truly special — he arranged bubbles and cake for us, and a complimentary romantic dinner at the best seat in the house at Onda overlooking the sunset, where we had the most extraordinary beef tartare that we couldn’t believe we were eating on an island in the Indian Ocean. He also surprised us one evening by preparing a bubble bath in our villa, which was such a thoughtful touch since the tub was tricky to get properly bubbly on our own. On clear nights, the stars were absolutely stunning and I’d swim out to the in-water hammock just to float and take them in, and on calm low-tide mornings the fish and coral were so vivid from our deck that I spent breakfast painting watercolors of the scene below. The DJ sets during breakfast and sunset were a wonderful touch, and the overall design and decor of the property is gorgeous. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced — from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to 24/7 responsiveness through the app and phone, all the way to staff walking us to our seats at the airport lounge when we departed, we felt completely taken care of every single moment. The only small note is that the Wi-Fi isn’t the strongest, but honestly it turned into a blessing — we embraced the digital detox and were all the more present for it. We tried every restaurant on the island and loved them all. If you’re looking for a honeymoon destination where every day can somehow feel even more magical than the last in the most incredible place on earth, The Standard is it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We had a wonderful week at this resort! There were a few things that could be improved — the app wasn’t very user-friendly, the concierge service could be more efficient, and there was a mix-up with our return transfer that almost got missed. But honestly, these are minor details that didn’t take away from our overall experience. It’s more a case of the hotel promising a bit more than it consistently delivers. That said, we truly had an amazing time. The Maldives are as stunning as ever, the house reef is absolutely incredible — full of marine life right by the water villas. The villas themselves are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. However, the main reason I’m writing this review is the PADI center on the island — because diving with them was the absolute highlight of our trip. The dive center is fantastic. We took the Open Water course, and everything was handled perfectly. The team is friendly, the equipment is great, and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and supportive. A special thank you to our instructor, Basma — she is truly outstanding! I take quite a lot of courses, and it’s super rare to come across such a wonderful teacher. She genuinely loves what she does and the underwater world, and it makes all the difference. Basma is kind, fun, calm, experienced and very responsible. Learning with her was an absolute joy — both incredibly useful and genuinely enjoyable! I’m beyond happy with the experience and would recommend Basma 1000% to anyone considering diving or taking a PADI course. You’ll be in the best hands ever!

I had an unforgettable stay at Standard Hotel Maldives, and I'm still buzzing from the incredible hospitality and service 😊. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was at home – it was like the staff were waiting to spoil me rotten! 🙏 Every single staff member was warm, welcoming, and smiling. What really blew me away was how they remembered my preferences and even cooked my favorite dishes. The food was insane! 🤯 Breakfast and dinner buffets were endless, and I was amazed by the spread – it's incredible they can serve such amazing food in the middle of the ocean! The first and the most important positive for the this very resort is the staff. Such a welcoming, warm people, they have made the entire stay seamless and comfortable. So credits to the staff, especially Mr. Shamaau Ahmed, who made sure to sort things out for us with extreme professionalism and respect. He was very kind and helpful, making sure everything has been handled appropriately. Special mention to Mr. Sai, from the Joos cafe staff. Couldn’t feel more comfortable like home and all credits to this man, Mr. Sai. He put extra efforts into making our stay worthwhile in terms of food and hospitality. Such a wonderful man and great professional. And the stay needs no stay, beautiful getaway with my family and best ever choice of resort. Surely coming back to this beautiful place and definitely recommending to others.

The Standard, Maldives From the moment we arrived, everything felt completely effortless, and that was thanks to Eva. She was our point of contact throughout the stay and made everything run smoothly from the start. Always available, efficient, and genuinely kind, which makes a big difference when you travel as a family. The island itself is beautiful, really beautiful. But what actually makes the difference here is the people. It’s also one of the few places that feels natural. There’s a proper reef, nothing artificial, and the sea life is incredible. You don’t need to plan anything, you just walk into the water and you’re already surrounded by it. The kids loved it. Very early into the trip, we started going out on the water. We did a private snorkeling with Hanim, and that was honestly one of the highlights of the week. He has a real instinct for the ocean and showed us things we would have never found ourselves. Everything felt easy, safe, and at the same time special. We also did a private turtle swim outside the reef, which was just amazing. For the excursions, Raph was our boat captain and made everything feel smooth and well organized from beginning to end. As the days went on, what really stayed consistent was how good every single interaction felt. At BBQ, Angela, Kuday and Rabbi created such a relaxed atmosphere that we kept going back. At Onda, Shak brought a great energy, and at Todis, Roshan made everything feel easy from the moment you sit down. Mikey handled the entertainment perfectly, always the right vibe, never too much. Our room boy, Rabbi, was impeccable. Everything always done, quietly and with care. And Lama at the kids club was incredible. The kids genuinely wanted to be there, which for us says everything. The food was also consistently very good. Chef Prasanna and Chef Gihan really delivered across all restaurants. By the end of the week, you realize it’s one of those places where everything just works. You feel taken care of without it ever feeling forced. The kids are happy, you can actually relax, and everything flows naturally. That’s what makes it special. One of the best weeks we’ve had. We’ll be back 🤍

We stayed at The Standard for 7 nights during the Easter holidays. It was our first time in the Maldives and we had the best experience. The Island is stunning! we really enjoyed the snorkelling - as first timers, it was especially nice that the security guard on duty helped navigate us to find the fishes - truly amazing. Our host for the stay was Paula - he was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The messaging service on the app is so handy and he would respond instantly eg arranging trips, re arranging restaurant bookings, accommodating special requests etc We had the all inclusive package and visited all the restaurants twice - the food at all of them was phenomenal. Fresh fish and very good quality food - the local cuisine was delicious. My husband is vegetarian and there were plenty of choices and the quality and effort made was just as good as the meat and fish. The buffet restaurant and Joos Cafe were also very good. Joos is perfect for lunch and poolside food but it’s not clear on the menu what is part of All Inclusive and what isn’t- also- a lot of ingredients were regularly out of stock but understandable given the small island. The service from all the waiters was exceptional too - always smiling. The service by the main pool during the day was very good and it’s always a nice experience when sun beds aren’t being reserved at the crack of dawn! There was always some entertainment on in the evenings which was good- just the right amount. The DJ was very good! During the day- The pool party was a nice touch - ice creams, fruit and drinks with some good music in the background. They also had candy floss for the kids. Overall, we had an amazing holiday and will definitely be back.

Location is amazing. Perfect beaches. Crystal clear sea. Resort is lovely. Over water Villa was amazing. House reef was full of life - we bumped into a big sea turtle when just our snorkelling. Staff are great. Service can be a tiny bit slow in certain restaurants and the onsite shop is bit expensive for basic things like suncream. But I am being picky - this place is paradise.

Our stay at Hurawalhi Island Resort from April 7th to 11th was absolutely wonderful and unforgettable. We would especially like to highly praise our Chinese butler, Nyra, for her excellent and thoughtful service. She was very professional, patient, and responsive. She helped us arrange check-in, restaurant bookings, and various activities smoothly. She always took good care of our needs and made our trip comfortable and relaxing. Thanks to Nyra’s warm and professional service, our holiday was perfect and memorable. We highly recommend Hurawalhi and will definitely come back again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here with friends, and it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we checked in, the entire team was warm and welcoming, but we have to give a special shoutout to our housekeeper Nyra for making our trip so memorable. She kept our room spotless, anticipated our needs, and was always friendly and ready to help with anything we asked for. Absolutely fabulous! Where to begin? The island - crystal-clear water and pristine white sand beaches. Paths swept while you sleep by a careful team of gardeners. The lagoon is beautiful and offers gentle shallow bathing. I managed to swim laps of the island in an hour (approx 2.5km if including the overwater villas). The drop-off points have an abundance of fish and underwater life. The interior of the island is lush and green, with lots of mature plants and shade. There are delightful walks through the island with flowers and lush green plants. We stayed in the Lagoon Beach villa (no. 92) and it was perfect. Surrounded by lush green vegetation and with a private pool and beachside access, it felt almost like we had the island to ourselves. The shade around the pool definitely helped with two young children and offered some respite from the fierce midday sun. The Ocean beach villas are definitely quieter, but have less beach in front of them. The restaurants - we stayed on the all-inclusive premium package so had the opportunity to visit all three restaurants along with the main buffet. The buffet is fantastic and if staying on half-board or B&B, you would not be disappointed with this. There is a huge selection of food to choose from and the chefs are fantastic. We loved Onda, Gudaguda, and BBQ Shak, all offered very high-quality menus. The Wahoo carpaccio from Onda and Tuna tartar from BBQ Shak deserve a special mention! The staff— this is what made it for us. We knew that we were coming to a beautiful island, and this would be delightful in itself. What we didn’t expect was such exceptional and thoughtful service from the moment we touched down in Male. The staff are so kind and thoughtful; they take pride in providing such a high level of service, and I couldn’t fault it for the entire 10 days we stayed here. A special thank you to Sai, Anwa, Bilal, and Shak, who arranged a wonderful final night dinner at Onda. This final night was particularly special for us; we had planned to go to the buffet as our boys preferred this, but Shak persuaded us to try Onda again. He then guided us through the menu, suggesting options that suited our palate, while the whole staff entertained our boys, teaching them how to make mocktails and helping them to find reef sharks in the waters around the restaurant. There are so many beautiful memories we will take from this island. But the kindness of all the staff and their enthusiasm to show our children a good time certainly tops it. It feels like the staff are one big family, all working together and enjoying their time on the island. BF Moonlight cinema, dolphin cruise with dancing dolphins, kayak to Baby Island, the fire show, snorkelling off the reef, massage in the spa. So many wonderful moments. The resort is definitely fun and will appeal to families. But we would have been equally happy visiting as a couple. It has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere that makes you instantly relax.

When you landed by the resort it looked awesome. Well designed, nice arrangements of all facilities, charming spacious and clean villas. Just great! What can be definitely underlined is the international staff: all of these marvellous persons – coming from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe – are like one great family exceptionally ready to assist you. Or let’s say: 99% of them…. Food is delicious, drinks in large selection, everything seems great. Unfortunately not everything

Although we stayed as “all inclusive” option each time we get a bill to sign (bill was signing the value of consumed goods, the value to charge us was indicated as zero). At the beginning was OK, but when I signa bill I prefer to check, so after a week I was really bored with signing the bills…. “All inclusive” option for me means “all inclusive”. However not everything was included and the difference in package was not clearly explained to us. As result of natural misunderstanding we were charged additional fee which we could avoid once the staff was keen enough to say everything clear. The problem was not clarified, we did not hear a word of sorry. At the beginning we were so enthusiastic that we planned another arrival and we requested a firm quotation. To our surprise we have not got it…. So, we prefer to go to another resort at our next visit to Maldives…..

We had high expectations for this place... and it turned out to be a perfect stay. The staff deserves a separate and very special mention. Our Eva, Hari, and Shingirirai were incredibly professional and polite. They often anticipated our needs, which is a truly exceptional skill. Thanks to them, our time here was even more joyful. In fact, all the staff members deserve praise; we simply had the most frequent contact with those mentioned above and introduced ourselves to one another. On the culinary side, we particularly enjoyed our time at the Onda restaurant, but the buffet at Kula was also quite good—we didn't miss a thing. P.S. I don’t know how you do it, but I’m usually a 'walking buffet' for mosquitoes, yet I wasn’t bitten even once during our entire stay!

Let's start with the good - the food was the best part of our stay. All 4 restaurants have great food; it's fresh, innovative, fairly-priced and tasty. Our favourite was the BBQ Shak with grilled seafood. Equally great was the staff - special shoutout to Shaamau, our host, Hari our pool staff, and Ridi from Kids club who made our stay better with their professionalism and enthusiasm.

Now with the bad.. Where should I start.. maybe at the hideous design of the hotel, especially the rooms. Plastic decorated closet, random pink strap around the bed, uncomfortable, hard mattress, 2 hard pillows, cheap plastic A/C blasting in your face. But the worst was the bathroom. Whoever designed it, should find another profession. The tiles of the floor and the wall don't match, there is no A/C in there so you're sweating yourself as trying to get ready, plus there is a constant smell as there is no proper window/ventilation. On top of that, the shower doesn't drain, so water goes overall, and the tiles get slippery when wet. They put these horrible tiles around the pool too - just trying to cover up as much nature as possible, but why? The absolute lack of sense and style. I can continue.. the WIFI doesn't work properly, so if you have to work (eg. download emails) while on holiday, avoid this place. Basically feel robbed out of my holiday just trying to connect to the internet. I raised this issue with booking.com as well and they filed a complaint to the hotel - to which they replied that I did not complain about the internet before and that they upgraded me to another room. This shows the true face of the hotel - straight up lying (as I have complained about the internet), and got the upgrade because the first villa they gave us was dangerous for our child, it had nothing to do with the WIFI. Half board only applies to the buffet restaurant, which they did not make clear before booking. Buffet can get crowded with groups of tourists. Honestly one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.

Un posto semplicemente stupendo. Mare turchese da ogni parte dell’isola, cibo ottimo sia nel buffet centrale sia negli altri ristoranti, stanze bellissime e pulite in modo frequente e accurato. Il servizio inoltre è da vero 5 stelle! Ti prendono per mano da quando atterri a Malé per accompagnarti sull’atollo passando dalla lounge privata per attendere l’idrovolante… e a ritorno stanno con te fino a dopo il check-in per assicurarsi che vada tutto bene! Tutte le persone del resort sono state sempre sorridenti, brave, gentili e disponibili. All’inizio del soggiorno inoltre viene assegnato agli ospiti un host personale che è sempre a disposizione via WhatsApp per qualsiasi richiesta o necessità! Il nostro si chiamava Poula ed è stato fantastico!

Our stay at this hotel in the Maldives was absolutely paradise on earth. The island itself is breathtaking, with stunning scenery that truly feels like heaven. The staff were incredibly kind, polite, and always helpful. From the moment we arrived until our departure, everything was perfectly organized. They took care of all the details, including our transfer from the island to the airport, making the whole experience completely stress-free. The resort was spotlessly clean at all times, and the food was excellent—fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Every meal was a pleasure. This hotel is an outstanding choice and without a doubt the best vacation I have ever had. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable experience in the Maldives.

we took half of our stay in water villa (perfect for swiming on the reef and take sun bath) and another half in beach villa (perfect for relaxation) - i recommend to do this way. nice spa area with pool for adults. nice food and very good breakfast. service is good as well

there is quite simple design on villas and restaurants . and the cinema on the beach only 1 time per week (it could be bettet to make a few cinema evenings and to show some more interesting movies) about drinks - no mango juice and coconuts..( the trip to the hotel is 40 min by waterplane if the flight is directly, but usually you will fly with connections in other hotels and you need to wait a group for your plane to be ready. so our trip from male airport to hotel took near 3h in total with waiting time

From the very start, Aizi went above and beyond to ensure every part of our stay was exceptional. Her attention to detail, thoughtful recommendations, and personal care turned moments into memories. Whether it was arranging experiences or checking in to make sure we were comfortable, Aizi’s service was nothing short of superb. She didn’t just meet expectations, she exceeded them in every way. Every meal felt like a treat. The cuisine across venues was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour, drawing inspiration from local ingredients and global flair. Dining here wasn’t just eating...it was a culinary highlight of our trip. Our villa was everything you’ve seen on Instagram- crystal-clear turquoise waters right at our doorstep, a luxurious private plunge pool, and beautiful open layouts that brought the ocean inside. Whether overwater or beachfront, the villas are designed to immerse you in the natural beauty that surrounds the island. The water here is surreal- so clear, so blue, and so inviting.

Two of the three restaurants were undergoing renovation during our stay. Fortunately, the BBQ Shak opened on the beach on our final night, allowing us to experience it, which was a lovely touch. The only small improvement we would suggest is the addition of seat cushions, as the chairs were not the most comfortable.

Love the culture and everyone was super friendly from my island host Shaah who answered my million questions to Arham the airport manager who was the first and last person I saw (and took me around Male to kill time before the flight), to Neha who always asked me how my day was to, Khalid who showed me the best snorkelling spots and Mike who gave us the best entertainment as well as Affan with the wonderful diving lesson and Ahmed who gave me the best painting lesson of my life. Every single person I interacted with was so kind and wonderful. Even though it was a Solo trip it was so fun to find these new friends :)

This place is amazing. Stunning views everywhere you go and the room service is exceptional. If you want a bit more life the hotel has activities and entertainment available. We enjoyed the fire show in particular.

The food in the restaurants we ate in (the Maldivian one and the Mediterranean one) serve small portions.

We spent 11 days at this hotel during the New Year holidays, and it was the best Maldives resort we’ve stayed at so far (this was our fourth visit to the Maldives). We lived in a private overwater villa with direct access to the ocean. The villa was beautiful, very comfortable, perfectly clean, and offered complete privacy. Snorkeling right from the deck was amazing — lots of colorful fish, corals, turtles, small sharks, and even an octopus. All marine life was small and completely safe, so even non-experienced snorkelers felt very comfortable. The villa was fully equipped with snorkeling gear, life vests, and even a flashlight for evening walks. Housekeeping was done twice a day, always perfectly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere around the pool and the restaurant, especially at sunset — the DJ sets and chill music added a very special vibe. The restaurant by the ocean, open-air cinema, pool activities, and complimentary snorkeling trip with turtles (we saw four!) were all excellent. The island itself is very clean, peaceful, and beautifully designed. A special thank to our hostess Aizy and the entire hotel team for the fastest check in, everyday message with activity schedule. We would also like to personally thank Shahadat, who cleaned our villa twice a day, helped with all our requests, and was very attentive to our waking schedule. From check-in to the last day, we truly felt at home. Perfect place for a quiet, private, and family-friendly vacation. We would love to return.

Everything was great. If thinking about possible improvements, it was a bit disappointing that we booked a kids’ scuba diving activity in the lagoon on a day when the water was quite sandy and cloudy due to waves. A small suggestion would be to great to reschedule such activities to another day for a better experience.

Excellent séjour au Standard. Tout était parfait : la chambre sur pilotis et vue sur le lagon, la salle de bain extraordinaire et la nourriture excellente ! Nous avons vu des poissons magnifiques! Les transferts en hydravion sont très bien organisées afin de permettre de profiter un maximum du resort. Un grand merci à Youssef pour son accueil et sa disponibilité, et aux personnels pour leur gentillesse et discrétion. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

We had an unforgettable stay at the Standard. A special shoutout to Poula, our incredible island host, who went above and beyond to make our entire stay and anniversary celebration truly magical. His warmth, attentiveness, and personal touches made us feel so welcomed and celebrated. Thank you, Poula, for making our stay so special. we’ll cherish these memories forever. We stayed at a ocean view bungalow which was perfect for snorkeling straight from the villa stairs. In our opinion, ocean side was much better than lagoon side for snorkeling and privacy. Food was great, though we didn't go for the all inclusive package as we don't drink much and usually skip meals. so we went for the bed&breakfast package and got the a la carte menu for lunch&dinner in order to save some money. Room was spacious and AC worked brilliantly. The hotel provides bycicles for you to cycle around and beach towels. Complimentary 1h kayak and paddle boards everyday for activities. As well as life vests and snorkeling equipment for you in the room. One tennis court available for booking, with rackets and balls provided by the hotel.

Nothing to complain about. All went perfect. If at least one thing must be said, I would suggest the tennis rackets to get new strings :). (Or just bring your own racket if you are an avid tennis player )

Il The Standard è un sogno a occhi aperti, molto più di ciò che avevo immaginato per la nostra luna di miele. Avevamo una stanza meravigliosa con vista oceano dove è presente un magnifico reef: abbiamo visto tantissimi pesci, squali, razze e due tartarughe. La stanza veniva pulita due volte al giorno, il cibo era squisito e variava sempre, ogni sera c'era qualcosa di diverso. Bravissimi a fare anche i piatti italiani! In questo posto lascerò una parte di cuore, ci siamo sentiti coccolati e il personale è sempre disponibile, gentile e attento. In particolar modo vorrei ringraziare il nostro host Poula, siamo stati molto fortunati ad avere lui. Oltre ad essere gentilissimo e molto simpatico, ha esaudito ogni nostra richiesta in modo impeccabile ed era sempre disponibile per qualsiasi cosa. Grazie per tutto! Speriamo con tutto il cuore di poter tornare.
