Helpful staff
Location was the best. We had ocean front room. It was amazing. It was very happening location.
Location, views, facilities, friendliness
The area can be quite noisy along Kalākaua avenue with traffic and motorbikes flying down the street. Not the fault of the hotel, just an observation if you don’t like noise
Location was breath taking; I enjoyed the sea view. Easy access to the beach

The room was very clean and comfortable. The view from the high floor was beautiful and unforgettable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Everything was great
Everyone working there was nice and helpful. The hotel was clean, food was delicious and the location was perfect.
The elevators, when we were there only one elevator on each side was working, so we often had to wait awhile for an elevator. Often the elevator is squished with people due to this issue.

Room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the beach from the balcony. Room was serviced well each day with restocking of products used.
My room was right by the elevator shaft which made it noisy especially when trying to sleep.
The hotel, reception staff are awesome, swim staff absolutely fantastic. Location spot on.
Trying to turn on the shower. Very hard. Mattress wasn't brilliant. Bit hard for me.
The AC was not working in our room upon arrival. The bathroom did not smell clean. Our upgraded room had an old outdated bathtub. The pool is a glorified kids splash pool. Otherwise, the staff our friendly and helpful.
Odd 70s design but the hotel has enough nice amenities to be worth the stay. Good location and value. During my work trip they treated me very well . The staff at the front desk, lounge and around hotel were very professional and accommodating. Globalist upgrade was very much appreciated. These are the things that keep me loyal.
Gorgeous hotel! Clean, friendly staff, great amenities. Only downside was street noise late into the night. We were on the 6th floor and the bar on the corner was playing music until 2am. Not the hotels fault, just something to be aware of when booking!
Posizione e servizi
Tutto buono, piscina buona ma piccola ma è una struttura di fronte al mare quindi ha compensato.
I was pleased with my location, room and the beach!
It would have been nice to be able to have a shuttle service at the hotel.

We had Kenneth. I have been on many, many tours. I have never had a guide as good as he was. Not only very knowledgeable about the tours but was extremely funny. In hindsight, our tip for him was inadequate. How would I send additional money for his services. Bob Utter 240 674 - 8572 Frederick, Md.
Right in the heart of waikiki, easy beach access and numerous eateries nearby. Hotel is pretty old. Dinner buffet was a bit expensive with not a lot of varieties but their sushi bar was great, we enjoyed their hand roll. I stayed at several 5 stars hotels and this one does not measure up to The Ritz Carlton, the Westin Hapuna beach or Hilton Hawaiian Village (rainbow tower) for several reasons but mostly due to a small swimming pool. Also the servers at the pool were extremely disrespectful. Very unpleasant experience at the pool. I wish I had jot down her name.
Fantastic location Excellent staff and facilities. Easy access to beach Shops close by Ocean front view was incredible
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikīkī for our anniversary weekend and were exceptionally celebrated by the hotel. The views from our upgraded junior suite were spectacular. Housekeeping visited daily to maintain the cleanliness and ensured we were comfortable. We were within walking distance of the beach, shopping, dining, the zoo, aquarium and other attractions. We truly enjoyed our time in Honolulu and the hotel was a massive part of making this our no. 1 trip this year.
Location near Waikiki Beach
The hotel is already showing signs of wear and tear. The curtain by the bathtub/shower
The hotel was in a great location to the beach. Easily walkable to shopping dining and attractions. The atrium of shops within the hotel offered a lot right on the premises.
The construction on the property made it difficult to get to/from our room. we had to take multiple elevators with walks between towers to get around.
Celebrated our daughters first birthday here. It was a great experience while we weren’t able to be upgraded. With our guest of honor. We did enjoy the benefits of parking and the Regency club access. Perfect location With easy access to everything!
The location, the pool, the amenities
the cleanliness
We’re a family of 7 who stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 8 nights. We had two rooms which were spacious and very clean. The view was amazing; was able to see the ocean, the pool, the mountains and the city all in one shot. The hotel staff made the trip stand out; they were exceptional. From the manager to James at the front desk, to Howie on security…they really highlighted the hotels dedication to a high level of customer service. I would consider staying again. However, my only cons are the parking and laundry. They have one parking garage which is extremely narrow and tight. It’s really challenging navigating the garage particularly when other cars are going up or coming down. The cars are inches away from each other when going in either direction. Thankfully we only rented a car for a few nights out of our stay. They do offer a valet option for $80 per night. The second con was the laundry facilities. They have one laundry room for 2 towers (80 floors total). There were 5 washer and dryers with one of them out of order. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use the laundry services during our stay. Thankfully we overpacked and had what we needed to get by. But again, the staff was amazing and they went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms were great and so was housekeeping. The location is directly across from the Waikiki beach with lots of things to do close by. The hotel itself is beautiful and up to date. So I would definitely consider going again because of the pros.
I liked that the property was located close to practically everything in Waikiki within walking distance. I liked that it was so close to the beach, just across the street. I liked that we could check out towels easily.
I can’t think of anything that warrants a comment here.
Room is outdated, carpet was old, stained and had a smell walking into the room. Furnitures were malfunctioning. TV entertainment was also outdated with Google Chrome access. Bathroom safety issues, needs to be updated into a walk in shower versus an old fashion tub. And pillows were very ergonomically uncomfortable.
Hotel was centrally located. It was close to the beach with plenty of dining possibilities. The only complaint Inhave is the slowness of the room elevators.
Situated on eastern side of the Waikiki area, it's just across the street from the beach area (a bit more east of hotel) where the rocks create a minimum wave effect for kids to swim safely. Rooms were clean and spacious - although mattresses could use a bit more stiffness. 3rd Floor has foozball, air hockey, and shuffleboard to play, also near pool you can borrow beach chairs and boogie boards & kids get a frozen treat for free/day. Just get there early to get a boogie board. Gym is also great for a hotel.
Excellent location with Waikiki beach just across the road. Amazing views of the ocean. Hotel had everything you need and more. Food a little pricey but plenty of local restaurants etc to choose from instead.
Conveniently locate across from the beach. Shops and food cafes nearby.
Rooms were not very clean. The walls need to be scrubbed.
Incredible locations. And it is well maintained and great customer service. It have spectacle view if you can stay in ocean front or ocean view.
My stay was not what I expected. I came to this hotel 19 years ago and it is evident that there was not a recent upgrade. It is more like a 3 star hotel and not a 4 star hotel as advertised. I used points for my stay. If I had to pay for this hotel using my money, I would have been upset. Traveler beware!
Great view, water stations available and towels for beach and pool. Center of everything. Resort fees are absurd - elevator lines are extremely long in each tower.
I booked the second to largest room this hotel offers. Upon arrival they said they didn't have a reservation for me. After digging for my confirmation email they found it. Then within 24 hrs of staying, I received a $12K charge on my credit card that I had paid off and planned to use while there to get points. They took all of my funds and I had to reallocate funds to pay for my trip. It wasn't until several trips to the reservation desk to finally be told they'll credit me back. I didn't receive the credit until the morning we left. The staff didn't offer any accommodations for the mistake either! It was a stressful stay and wouldn't recommend this hotel.

excellent location and lovely staff
This is my third time here. This hotel is badly in need of an update. Rooms look to be from the 90s and everything is just worn. It is not what I would expect from a Hyatt and we stay at them a lot (we are globalist). I would have left tonight but my family is against changing hotels again as this is our third island this week so I am stuck, but this will be my last visit her until they do an update. Check in was smooth and the staff was fine I will give them that.
The location was perfect, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!
Hotel was nice, rooms need updated, our room had minor defects and air really did not cool. Parking needs attention and elevators took forever and were full every time going down. food and bar was mid at best. used points for room so glad is was free.
This was my second stay at the property, 12 years after my first visit. I was pleased to see how well the management team has maintained it over the years. The location is convenient, and the onsite rental car agency is a great added benefit. This continues to be my preferred place to stay whenever I visit Oahu.
Family friendly and very courteous and friendly staff. We enjoyed the hotel pool, bar, gym, and appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards loaned out to our family at no extra cost.
Pleasant and efficient check-in with front desk clerk (Saori). Our room was very spacious. We attend a wedding there and the food/desserts were awesome!
Hotel was amazing. Great location just across the street from Duke's Statue. Check in was quick. We are globalist and celebrated our 20th anniversary and the hotel VIP concierge made sure we got a room upgrade (ocean view and 30th floor, Ewa tower) and they even surprised us with snacks in the room! We even got a nice view of the fireworks from Hilton. Valet was attentive and quick (even though it was so busy). Everyone was friendly from serving staff at restaurant to the pool attendants. The hotel was going through some renovations in the lobby floor, but it didn't bother us much. The Pool was tiny but it didn't bother us since we were at the beach most of the time. Hotel also offered Luau and performance (saw from a far near buffet, but we didn't have time for it, maybe next visit. The Club Lounge was awesome and a nice perk, saved us some money with food. It was nice that the hotel had towel and beach chair rentals for free. Overall great experience at this hotel.
Love this hotel. We have stayed here at least 3 different times as we try to come to Hawaii once a year. Clean rooms with absolutely beautiful views with ocean view rooms. Their pool is a bit small and the parking garage is tight! But, the service makes up for the parking garage.
Great scene with awesome views and customer service. We're upgraded to ocean view. Checked out a go pro, and was super easy.
Great location and super nice staff. has everything you need. Rooms were spacious and views were nice. The pool restaurant was also good. Getting towels also easy. Now for the other facts: hotel is dated and really needs a complete refresh. I know probably hard to do given taking any rooms offline would be expensive for Hyatt. Pool is VERY small for a hotel of this size. Really should have 2-3 pools. My home pool is bigger. Parking is the absolute worst. its across the street in a lot that is 10 stories tall. Valet takes up 5 of the floors at a charge of $80/day. Self parking is $60/day. At that amount you would think it would be decent, but the reality is that its horrible. Spots are so tight, that you need to be a pretty good driver to maneuver this garage. The turns going up are TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT. If you are used to 'normal' parking, then this is NOT it. The times you need to back up, move to the side (if you have space) when others come up and down is nerve wracking. One can rent a car through the services provided at the hotel for day trips, but the lines are huge. Otherwise, the $$$$ i paid, was not quite worth it.
What an amazing view from the window of the hotel room. Very central location with good access to restaurants beach etc
Reception up escalators on first floor which is no problem. But leaving for an early flight no assistance with luggage available and lifts don’t go to ground floor so we are ferrying suitcases down escalators which was dangerous and not expected from Hyatt class hotel.
As a Hyatt Globalist, I had high expectations for the service, and unfortunately my check-in experience started on a disappointing note. My interaction with one front desk agent, Susan, was frustrating. Whenever I asked questions or made requests, she seemed impatient and gave inconsistent answers. At one point she said a request could be accommodated, then later told me it was not possible, which left me very confused. When I asked about changing rooms, she insisted that no rooms were available, even after I politely asked her to check again. A few minutes later, I spoke with a different front desk agent, and the experience was completely different. He patiently explained my options, did his best to accommodate my requests, and was able to arrange a room change almost immediately. The contrast made it feel like the issue was not the hotel's availability, but the level of customer service I received. I truly appreciate the second agent for turning the situation around. Without his professionalism and willingness to help, the beginning of my vacation would have been significantly affected. I hope Hyatt reviews this feedback, as consistency in guest service is especially important for loyal Globalist members.
Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki was fantastic! The location couldn’t have been better—just steps away from Waikiki Beach, restaurants, shopping, and everything we wanted to explore. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered beautiful ocean views that made every morning special. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with recommendations and any requests we had. We especially enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, convenient amenities, and the easy access to the beach. It was the perfect place. Overall, Hyatt Regency Waikiki exceeded our expectations and made our vacation even more memorable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Honolulu!
The location was convenient for doing what I wanted to do. The views, scenes and setting was awesome. Everything that was needed was on site. The staff was amazing. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hyatt Waikiki is a perfect location in the midst of a variety of restaurants, shopping centers and steps away from the beach. Their rooms and overall facility is very clean. And, the staff is very helpful and kind, always showing the true spirit of aloha.

Fantastic hotel and amazing front desk staff. The room views cannot get any better and the location is right across from Waikiki Beach. You cannot go wrong.
Great room and experience. The staff was excellent and professional. The view from the room was exceptional. Hats off to the staff at the Swim Bar
Clean facility
Only 4 elevators/ tower. Always crowded/ packed cars
Overall, a great stay. As many have mentioned, the rooms here are dated and could use a remodel - there are marks on the furniture and walls, the carpets are a bit worn from years of in-and out beach traffic. We had one big issue on our check-in day: bedding that had clearly not been washed or possibly not changed as there were blood stains on the sheets. This, in any instance, is highly unacceptable. The hotel staff was very apologetic and took care of the issue within a few hours. Other than this issue, the rooms are clean and well-kept. The beds here are shockingly comfortable and we slept well. Once you accept the lack of “wow factor” in the rooms, you’ll realize that it’s all made up for by being across the street from the beach. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The elevators can be quite slow at peak hours (breakfast time and dinner time) - but this is a very large and busy property so this is not at all shocking. We booked two rooms with World of Hyatt points and while we were not able to upgrade to an ocean view, they did accommodate our request for Diamond Head Tower, high floor and a bed arrangement change with no issues. This is a great hotel for the price, and especially great if you’re traveling with kids as you’re not going to be spending much time sitting in your room. A few takeaways: The pool is small and busy as mentioned, but this is great for little ones as the pool is shallow enough for them to play without too much concern. The Kai Coffee shop on the main level has excellent coffee and breakfast options. Anything you need can be found at the ABC store – from swimsuits to sunscreen to a single can of beer. The self-park parking garage is much faster than the valet – but is painfully tight and fills up early in the evening – we were able to use the garage instead of a valet and it saved time and money. Just make sure you can do a 20-point turn to get your car into the stall. We elected to have the Buffet on our last evening. Expensive at $90 per adult (kids under 5 are $12) – but our teenagers ate their bodyweight in chilled snowcrab legs. The sushi was excellent and hand-rolls are made to order. The pool bar was a fantastic place to grab to-go lunch or breakfast and also a great atmosphere to have a drink and watch the world cup matches!
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki for 3 nights. I wasn't sure what to expect but from the moment we checked in and found we had been upgraded to oceanfront, I knew I was going to love staying there. The entire visit exceeded expectations. On our 3 previous visits we stayed at the Marriott Waikiki Resort but this time we decided to try the Hyatt Regency. Next trip we will stay at the Hyatt Regency!
I love it !!! I will be back
Only thing the elevator was acting up which was disappointing pressing the button to go down, but it would not work, but will work with the button to go up . I paid for a oceanfront view, but my room was at a angle. It was not completely oceanfront view
It was a nice hotel but very crowded There was a remodel going on at the time of our stay. We had to be rerouted a few times. We did have a good time.
People please be careful if you book this hotel through Priceline or another similar site. That is exactly what I did and when I arrived at the hotel to check in, they asked for a credit card so that they could charge me a $65 daily resort fee and a $60 daily parking fee. I went on this trip thinking it was all paid off and wound up being charged over $660 when I checked out.
This hotel is located in the middle of everything. It's the best location among all other hotels. Very convenient if you go surfing.
The personel in Shor breakdadt restaurant is very kind and helpful . The housekeeping to . On reception desk definitely less. I was very nous because opposite the window there was a conctruction and Windows in my room Werę old and leaky. Hotel have us an voucher 200 USD after out complaint. The room is old needs renewing.
100/10. The food here is so excellent. The Lu'au was amazing! And SWIM and SHOR were incredible. Room rates were reasonable. The resort fee was a bit steep. Location is absolutely out of this world - right across the street from Duke's statue. The atmosphere was so lovely and serene. I'll be back!!

My company held an event here on in late June 2026 and my team stayed at the Hyatt for 5 days. The rooms were magnificent: very clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. All staff members were amazing. Our event Sales Manager Hanako Lemelle was amazing! She worked with my team effortlessly and was incredibly responsive to our emails. Upon our arrival, Hanako greeted us and consistently checked with us throughout our setup to make sure we were happy and had anything we needed. We have done over 200 events throughout the USA and Hanako definitely ranks as one of the very best Event Sales Managers we have ever had.
Always an amazing experience at Hyatt. Staff is friendly and courteous. My room was also upgraded which was a plus :) . Always enjoy my stay here .
Just got back from Oahu and my 2nd stay at this hotel. I have to share I was extremely disappointed with my room as a hyatt explorist status. The service and location is good but thats where it ends. The hotel is celebrating its 50th and the room shows the age and just felt overall "dirty" I expressed my disappointment with front desk and was told the generic "sorry, sold out" which I guess is what it is. I will never stay at this hotel again, family was very disappointed at how dirty and old it was. It could've used a paint job, new beds. I guess I can say it was at least clean but thats about it. We even lost hot water for the day and no one was able to take a hot shower. I heard many people complain about this at the lobby too. Time to move on and find a different place on waikiki.
One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Perfect location, friendly staff, great amenities, clean rooms. I will definitely be back.
GREAT location, HUGE rooms, friendly staff. Very Clean hotel. Beautiful views from high room balcony. Really loved this hotel. Favorite hotel have stayed in.
建物がちょっと古くなっていて 戸が動きにくい エレベーターがごとごと 音を立てて 怖かった
view & pools exceptional. chairs reasonably available at pool service at pool good valet service very good
from lobby to pool, no elevator for handicapped. pool had 5 hot tubs but all jets out of order
Everything
There’s nothing I didn’t like it was awesome
Very good location, food track very taste and you can walk early morning at beach and even night time can swim until the beach close . It was a great good vacation , the only thing parking area pay every where you go pay even hotel stay they charges a day not included book a hotel is different charges .
Near everything airport also not too from the airport.
Location was the best, fun rooms with beautiful views! Free boogie boards and chairs made it amazing. With the 50 year discount at the pool it made the food affordable! Breakfast was amazing!
Room would smell of weed at times when we would come back to the room. I don’t know if it was coming through the vent. Elevators were slow. Bathroom by pool was busy and really dirty.
We were so fortunate to have been given an ocean view room on the 14th floor for our 20th anniversary by Mgr Lee. Coming home was a treat and our view was better than pretty much any view we had on the island our entire stay. We had great food at the club, really enjoyed getting to use the beach chairs and beach towels, parking was a breeze next door. The location on Waikiki Beach just can't be beat.
This resort is in a great location being right at the center of Waikiki. Beautiful views with the beach directly across the street. Rooms were average with doors and carpets needing an update but all technology needs were met above average. The rooms are surprisingly quiet for having thinner sliders but we're rather noise proof. Excellent concierge service and attentive front desk. Rooms were cleaned well by housekeeping daily. Overall great experience and would recommend to family. 4/5 stars
We had the best time and loved this resort! The beach is steps away, the resort offers fun amenities my kids loved, like a free daily treat by the pool, and beach toys you can borrow. We had a blast! Also, since we didn't pay a fortune for the resort, we felt the freedom to explore Oahu. Highly recommend!!
Overall, we had a very nice stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The location is hard to beat—right across from Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of countless restaurants, shops, and attractions. The hotel has a fun, vibrant atmosphere, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Our original City View room was clean and everything worked, but it definitely felt dated and lacked much character. We were also placed near the elevators, which wasn’t ideal. As World of Hyatt Explorist members, we had hoped for a better room, but ended up paying for an upgraded room with a much better ocean view. It was absolutely worth the extra cost and made the rest of our stay much more enjoyable. We didn’t use the pool since Waikiki Beach was literally across the street, but it was disappointing that the hotel’s water features were drained due to construction. We also appreciated having Club Lounge access, although compared with other Hyatt club lounges we’ve visited, including other Hawaii properties, it was fairly underwhelming. Breakfast choices were limited, and the coffee machines weren’t consistently working. The hotel recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and in many areas it definitely shows. While it’s clean and well maintained, some guest rooms could benefit from updating. Overall, this is a good—not great—hotel. The unbeatable location is its biggest strength, and we’d stay here again, especially if we could get an upgraded ocean-view room.
Waikiki properties are all a little dated this is no exception, but they make up for it in many ways: service - excellent - GREAT gym and the Housekeeping staff. Well worth the price to stay here. I cant say enough
Hotel is doing a refresh which is needed, questioning why they are attempting to refresh during busy season, however, guessing there is always demand for Waikiki.
Location is outstanding - across from the beach and close to restaurants and shopping. The staff is exceptional in every department - from the valet when you arrive to all of the experiences in between before the disappointment of having to depart. I've stayed here at least 6 times, and each time gets even better than the last. As much as I'd like to stay at a couple of the iconic resorts, the way I'm treated like 'ohana (family) keeps pulling me in like a fishing line.
We had an incredible stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and would absolutely return. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary as well as both of our children’s birthdays, and the hotel made us feel genuinely special. Before we even arrived, HJ Lee reached out to ensure everything was ready for our stay. During our visit, we were surprised with thoughtful anniversary and birthday gifts, and HJ even followed up after our stay. That level of personalized service is rare and made a lasting impression. The location is unbeatable. Being directly across from Waikiki Beach made it easy to enjoy sunrise walks, beach time, shopping, and restaurants without ever needing a car. The Regency Club was fantastic. Breakfast each morning and evening appetizers were excellent and added tremendous value to our stay. It became one of our favorite places to relax as a family. We also loved the complimentary ukulele class, which was a fun and authentic Hawaiian experience. Another unexpected highlight was watching FIFA World Cup matches on the big screens by the pool, creating such a fun atmosphere with guests from around the world. Most of all, the staff made this hotel stand out. Everyone was warm, friendly, and eager to help. From check in to check out, we felt truly welcomed. Mahalo to HJ Lee and the entire Hyatt Regency Waikiki team for making our family celebration so memorable. We can’t wait to come back.
Friendly check in, rooms were tidy with plentiful pillows, towels, bath products, attentive housekeeping staff. Purified water stations on a few floors to fill water bottles when needed. Beach towels to use for convenience and umbrellas loaned when we had a little rain.
We stayed over to attend a wedding at the Hyatt. Great wedding venue. Excellent staff, especially Christian at the Front Desk. Nice hotel with great amenities and location. Check price changes periodically, even after you book.
I honestly don’t want to leave this negative of a review on a Hyatt hotel because I normally love them. This was not the greatest hotel experience for our family at all. The room was not as described even after calling the hotel. The valet parking is $80 and a disaster getting your car. The self parking is $65 and the parking honestly is a joke it’s so small. The elevators take forever to get there that a line down the hallway forms. The stairwell when taking it was out of a horror film it was falling apart. The cost of this hotel is no where near what it is. The location is good with it being across from Waikiki beach, but that’s about it. The amenities provided are very minimal, especially with the competition in this price range and this area. The price of the restaurants here is much more than places you can walk to in the neighborhood as well. I would not recommend this hotel, and we stay at a ton of hyatts and normally really enjoy this brand. This stay was a massive step backwards in our relationship with Hyatt for our family.
Great breakfast. Excellent bell person.
Some staff were amazing whilst others were totally unhelpful and rude. the hotel is full of scafolding which we were not told on bookimng.
Great location, the rooms need to be refreshed though. Went for family trip. Girls still had fun on beach but i was left wishing for a more ooh ahh experience.
Everyone that I made eye contact with in every department was quick to smile and assist. The entire team is on-point and friendly. I LOVED the ocean front balcony room that I was assigned. Housekeeping was quick, efficient amd did an outstanding job. The Regency Club team is superb, as soon as you finished a plate or set your dish on the "service tray" an attendant would scoop it up and clean the surface immediately. The food & beverage quality, upkeep/ constant attention required due to high-volume fast paced guests sweeping through and quality was VERY impressive. I can't wait to come back this December for another week and do it again. GREAT job to the GM and his entire team here, THANK YOU!
