Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The view of the lake was nice.
Price. Room was humid.
Great view and great location.
Everything went pretty well.
I am not one to write reviews but I have to. The overall hotel is very nice and worth it, in our opinion. Great and easy stay. However this low review needs to happen due to the dining experience at the restaurant in the hotel. It was one of the most awkward and unenjoyable we have every had at any hotel or restaurant in our entire lives. Never seen anything like it. The Sous Chef, Will, was terribly rude to our bartender, Dennis, not just once but multiple times. Made the whole dinner awkward and we felt bad for Dennis the entire time. I know that people have bad days but while paying a noticeably higher price tag for this hotel (and menu) compared to the surrounding options, my girlfriend and I expected a way higher bar and professionalism from the kitchen. It doesn't cost anything to be kind. Hope Will learns that under their employment. The food was great though, so that part he has down. The rest of the staff was extremely kind (wish I knew their names) and tried to rectify the awkwardness but no amount of comped dessert or a drink should take away from rudeness to your colleagues. Everything else lovely. The rooms were standard but the outdoor area was nice and location was perfect, Larry at the front desk was exceptional. That guy was terrific.
The Delamar is blessed with the best setting in town - waterfront with a lovely beach and outside bar, as well as a pool. The Artisan restaurant is top notch and service is expedient. My one issue came when I attempted to locate the safe in my room. After numerous phone calls and promised visits from the technicians that did not materialize, I was asked at 9 pm if I would like another room. At that point, I was not willing to relocate. I was uncomfortable with the fact that there was no safe and that people knew there was no safe. I mentioned this to the front desk, who compensated me with a discounted rate. This was extremely nice, but did not make me feel less vulnerable. I would recommend guests establish the safe's location before settling into the room.
Amazing experience for our anniversary. Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful hotel in a great location.
The Delamar is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are beautiful & the restaurant is exceptional
Here’s a version that naturally includes that context: Review: We stayed at the Delamar while I was dropping my son, Charlie, off at camp, and it was the perfect place to begin our trip. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the staff was warm and welcoming. Charlie especially loved the pool, and we both enjoyed being able to walk to the waterfront and nearby restaurants. We already have our next trip planned!
Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, excellent food and servers, both in the restaurant and coffee bar. However, after two stays, we've experienced a couple rude staff members at reception and restaurant hosts. Check in this stay was wonderful, but then checking out, when I was in my room one minute past check out time, the cleaning team was banging on and opening my door, and the reception called, both my room and my cell phone, to tell me I needed to leave immediately or I would be charged another night. It was 11:30, and I mistakingly thought check out was at noon, because no one said otherwise. The previous stay, the restaurant host was very rude to my mother in a wheelchair. It is unfortunate because it is such a lovely property. If you know to expect this uneven reception and treatment, lovely servers mixed with a few rude receptionists/hosts, everything else is exceptional about this hotel.
Great location, clean and spacious rooms and friendly staff. Food was great as well. There as part of a business meeting but would return for a vacation for sure.
Hotel is centrally located. Can easily walk downtown. Room was clean and right on the lake. Service was inconsistent. Turn down service second night, not first. Had to make 3 requests for room to be made on the second day. The Artist restaurant at the hotel was delicious!
Only stayed one night for the Cherry Festival, but the hotel was fantastic. It was nice to sit in the chairs outside and enjoy the bay. It was also walkable to the festival.
The location is great, a short 5 + minute walk to downtown. The staff is great, the hotel is very nice, however showing some signs of wear. The fabric on the chair in our room was peeling off and the shade is shredding, otherwise the room is very nice. The outdoor bar area is great. We have dined at The restaurant, Artisan on a couple prior occasions an and had a great experiences, however, not a good experience on this visit.
Location is great. Views from window are nice- waterfront. Pools are nice - heated, will be even nicer in a winter time. Stuff is very friendly. Restaurant Artisan has the best steak I ever tried - highly recommend!
No breakfast buffet , only cafe where you can buy coffee and sandwiches or pastries, didn’t really like a coffee there , maybe it’s just me. So if you like to have a breakfast- you have to walk around city and find place (good news is that TC has a lot of them around, we found a couple delicious places).
My family and I stayed over the 4th of July weekend. The queen corner suite was spacious. However, the cons outweighed the pros for me, so not sure we would stay again. Pros: Nice heated pool Great poolside service Nice central location Spacious rooms and bathrooms Nice toiletries - Biulgari Cons: Expensive For the price we paid, it would’ve been nice to have some extra amenities - like free coffee in the lobby It would’ve been nice to have the hotel check in daily to see how things were going Hot and small fitness room Floor in the room was not clean. Other than that, the room was clean enough
Wonderful!!
For the price we originally agreed to pay (close to $600 a night with taxes and fees), the room was subpar. Worn furniture, bed creaked, coffee and tissue interested, etc. Also, the fitness center was lacking and without AC. This is a $300/night or less room even during peak season. At $600/night I would have expected four to five star accommodations. The manager, David made things right for us. All staff were pleasant.
My 10-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Delamar Traverse City for a mommy-daughter birthday trip, and we had an absolute blast! The location is perfect, making it easy to enjoy everything Traverse City has to offer. The outdoor pool looked amazing and was such a relaxing spot to unwind. The only downside was that they no longer offer the continental breakfast, which was always such a wonderful perk of staying here in the past. Other than that, our stay was fantastic, and we made some great birthday memories together!
The restaurant at the hotel, called the Artisan, is a destination in itself. It is hands-down one of the top restaurants in Michigan. Starting with the entire friendly staff extremely knowledgeable about every dish, to the gorgeous presentation, farm-to-table ingredients plus the creativity and culinary expertise - every dish we had was spectacular. Spacious, clean modern rooms, gorgeous showers, our room overlooked the Bay! PS The beautiful hotel itself sits on a beautiful beach - we happened to see a destination wedding while we were there - set outdoors. Just wonderful!!!!
Nice hotel, great grounds, staff is lovely and the food and drinks were great. Only issue was that the room had the headboard against the wall that was shared with elevator shaft and could hear everyone coming and going
Very hit or miss. Lovely hotel setting; room was noisy next to the elevator and a humming generator every few minutes; $271 dinner was spotty at best. Very good Walleye, $68 Wagyu Hanger steak WAY too salty.
Fantastic staff! Nice hotel & amenities and fabulous location. Great AM & PM shuttle drivers. You won't be disappointed.
Room shade was broke, carpet was dirty, and lake view was of parking lot. Would not recommend this hotel given the many issues.
everything was very nice
unruly guests
Great location. And great dining experience.Rooms are large and comfortable. Free parking. Great outdoor space to relax, have a drink, watch the sunset. Highly recommend.
Our experience at the Delamar Traverse City was exceptional. This was a quick, but special trip to celebrate my Wife's 50th birthday. The staff was super friendly and accommodating from the moment we walked in the door, while the lobby and sprawling yet open hallway compelled us to peruse the guest options (i.e. heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, onsite highly rated restaurant, comfortable indoor and outdoor gathering areas, outdoor bar, great coffee stand, etc.). We were surprised by an upgraded room - corner suite due to our special celebration. The room was amazing - spacious, comfortable and with a great lake view, a full and half bath. The workout room is small and leaves a bit to be desired if you are used to a gym, but does the trick for a one-off cardio or strength training. I would highly recommend the Delamar for a romantic getaway, a great place to stay for a wine tour on the Old Mission Point, a family trip, a work trip and more. This is a first rate place that is worth the slightly higher price vs. nearly competitive hotels. Thank you Delamar Staff for an amazing experience!
While the public spaces of the hotel are quite nice, and appear to be recently updated, the guest rooms don't have the same quality and are a bit disappointing. There is some generally silly issues like lights on the headboard not having outlets to even plug into making them useless, drawers that keep opening because they aren't mounted squarely to the wall, and a mini-fridge who's door won't stay closed. Overall a bit disappointing and likely better options for the price in the area.
The room was very clean, staff was super friendly. Anything we needed was quick (towels, etc.) the pool is heated year round which was great for chilly nights
Fix bath with more storage. Had to put things on floor and had to physically move things all the time. Also no updates comfortable seating in room.
Loved this for location to downtown. It’s beautiful, peaceful and just great for everyone in my family. Would recommend for any and would choose everytime
Perfect location on the water with easy access to downtown either by courtesy shuttle or walking. Very quiet large rooms. Excellent restaurant on site with lovely big common areas.
Older hotel they tried to renovate and failed. For the price it needs many more guest amenities to be considered “high End”. However Desk Receptionists, Housekeeping all pleasant, professional and efficient. Cannot recommend this hotel for the price they charge.
We’re locals and love visiting the Delamar! The rooms are always clean and comfortable and hospitality is always top tier. We’re always greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. We enjoy the cafe for a quick bite and coffee and absolutely love the outdoor pool and sauna inside. On top of the amenities, the lobby is a cozy yet spacious place to hang out, have a glass of wine, or work. Board games are provided in the lobby lounge and it’s also a great spot to catch some gorgeous views of Lake Michigan. Robes, towels, soaps, and the lotions in the rooms provided are wonderful. The rooms also come stocked with drinks and snacks you can purchase and also have a keurig with coffee and tea pods. 10/10 recommend staying!
We loved everything about our stay at the Delmar. We can’t wait to come back for another stay!
There is not one thing that we didn’t like about the property. We enjoyed everything about our stay.
Best place to stay in Traverse City. Gorgeous resort, amazing amentities, perfect location, friendly and helpful staff!
The drink prices are outrageous. A small wine in a small plastic cup $16. We are not in Miami Beach folks.
Exceptional stay. Staff is top notch. The entire property is so welcoming and beautiful. We had the opportunity to dine at Artisan and our service was impeccable.
Really comfortable beds and the indoor pool area was beautiful. Everything was awesome!
Couple signs of wear and tear in the room and the door stuck a bit when opening and closing but nothing major! Also was surprised there was no breakfast provided.
It was a perfect spot with easy walking access to downtown traverse city. The outdoor heated pool and live music in the lounge exceeded our expectations. The food at the artisan was a super special treat.
The front desk folks were not helpful at all with any information regarding things to do in Traverse City or restaurant recommendations. The only restaurant in the hotel was closed Thursday night for a private event. There was no mention of that when making my weekend reservation. The room was very bare and lacked any furniture other than beds and a desk chair.
Such a fun place to stay! The staff is so kind and made our stay memorable. The indoor pool is very nice and the heated outdoor pool was a hit!
I enjoyed the friendly staff and the welcoming atmosphere. The amenities were very nice and available when I wanted to use them.
The only thing I can say is I would have liked room service.
This hotel is spacious, clean, and fun. I love the heated outdoor pool and indoor pool and hot tub. Staff is super kind and friendly. Nice that they offer wine or sparkling water when you check in.
They should have some kind of breakfast due to the higher pricing they have.
Location: top notch, close to all shops and eateries within 3min drive or 5-15min walk Atmosphere: delightful. Friendly staff, clean everywhere can still see its old bones amidst the renovations which added history and charm. Rooms: very clean and well appointed. Corner king views of lake are stunning. Value: incredible based on location alone but amenities and food and service make it a must try. Cleanliness: everywhere was clean and well maintained. Very nice. Noise: normal hotel noises nothing of note or complaints Service: friendly and kind and helpful Amenities: that outdoor/indoor heated pool situation?? Fabulous. Restaurant on site was nice. Cool bar:lounge area as well as full food coffee bar. Get the Caesar salad. Loved it. Will stay again.
A wonderful place with fabulous views of the bay. Exceptionally kind and helpful staff. Comfortable room, though not exceptional for someone in a wheelchair.
Very nice, nice pool, nice staff, nice free sparkling white wine. I am adding more words here to hit the limit but I would come out to Traverse city again just for this hotel.
It was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at, the staff was great.

I booked a room at Delamar Traverse City as I wanted to celebrate my birthday in TC. I also wanted to splash around in a heated outdoor pool. The attention to detail from arrival to departure was superb. Thanks in part to Mariia, the front desk associate. Upon arrival we received 2 complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. Next, I received a room upgrade since it was birthday! To my surprise there even was a birthday card, balloon & cupcake waiting for me. Another nice gesture. The room had a fabulous view of the bay. However, I really liked the cloudburst shower. Finally, the heated outdoor pool was absolutely a delight! I highly recommend the Delamar in Traverse City. It is impeccable. The staff is friendly, professional and go above and beyond to make you feel like a special guest. Thank you, Delamar, for a wonderful birthday experience and memory.
On Friday afternoon, I received a call from my mom that my dad was in the hospital to be transferred to Traverse City. A quick search to find the best hotel in the city, I found the Delamar. Never have I stayed downtown, but knowing I was going to be tired and stressed, I booked the Delamar for my mom. The location was very close to the hospital. A calming location, so many little nooks look out to the Lake Michigan bay. When I was told it was a redone Holiday Inn, I was worried. Walking into the hotel, I was not. From the champagne at check in, to the chill live music, to the fabulous food created by the very talented, Chef Sara, this hotel is like none that I have visited in Michigan. I will return. The attention to detail is remarkable. They absolutely value customer service. This hotel is a pearl.
I love this hotel! We always try to stay here. From the welcome we receive at the front desk, to the spacious interior, and the clean, comfortable rooms, especially the ones overlooking the bay, it is top notch!
Ask for a lakefront room and eat at the restaurant, both were fantastic! Beautiful hotel, great amenities and lovely staff.
I absolutely loved this hotel and look forward to coming back again and sharing with friends and family looking to visit Northern Michigan.
After a 7 hour drive, a welcome drink is exactly what we needed, and Delamar did not disappoint! Well appointed decor, Bulgari amenities in the bathroom, huge towels, mini fridge, and, directly on the beach on Traverse City West Bay, a great spot to relax. The Bay view rooms are more $ but worth it! The outdoor heated pool was perfect for a dip after the hot tub and sauna, plenty of towels, but no outdoor bar in the heated pool area, if that's the vibe you want. Huge patio with bay view, fireplace and a cozy room to read or play games, or work quietly if need to. Staff is efficient, and soo friendly, front desk waved as you passed by and offered "have a great day" a very nice touch. Beds were good, but pillows were awesome, large walk in shower and fluffy bathrobes were wonderful, housekeeping brought additional items with just a note onthe bed and were also very efficient. There were lots of kids as we were hitting the edge of spring break , I'd recommend a midweek stay as it clears out and no wet feet running through the lobby, or down your hallway. The best is the free shuttle that takes you anywhere in the local downtown/beach/bay area so you have a designated driver to take you to the fun places on Front Street. We were very impressed with the whole resort, just be aware of the nightly resort fee, but the inclusions are worth it. Thank you Sofia, Donna at Front Desk !! :) See you soon!!
Love all the updates, interior is very pretty and comfortable. The outdoor pool and cozy cabanas were a hit with the kids. Food was good in the coffee bar area.
Very nice property close to downtown Traverse City and directly on the bay waterfront. The staff were amazing and attentive to the needs of guests. On-site dining was very enjoyable. The only concern was guest rooms lacked enough power outlets.
Wow!! We had an amazing three night stay in April with our 8 and 11 year old children. The service and ammenities were top notch. Our room overlooked the outdoor heated pool and a bit of the Traverse Bay. We took advantage of the outdoor pool several times. It was such a special experience to swim outside when the temps were in the 30s. Fire pits and outdoor heat lamps made it so cozy at night. We loved roasting s'mores and enjoying cocktails by the pool. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome!! The hotel is beautiful with unique art, updated finishes, cozy beds, a mini fridge, and an upscale bathroom with a waterfall shower. We loved the cafe area in the evening for drinks and snacks. The lobby lounge area overlooking the bay, has board games, a hot cocoa bar, and lounge chairs. We spent many hours playing games by the fire. The hotel is busy with a combination of families, couples, and business travelers. We brought a white noise machine which made sleeping lovely. A ten minute walk into town let us explore cute shops, a candy store for the kids, and loads of amazing cafes and restaurants. The beach directly north of the hotel was fun to walk and collect small shells for the children. We took a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes for a hike, which was great! This hotel is in a perfect spot to explore several wineries, towns, and beaches. Such an amazing visit full of sweet memories!!
Beautiful views
This marked our 5th stay at The Delamar Traverse City, and we will certainly be back again! From check-in to check-out, they assure that every need is met with a smiling face. Cozy evenings spent by the fire, playing board games & listening to live music, all while overlooking the bay, can't be beat!
Nice rooms, pool outside was cool, staff was great
It’s advertised as an adult get a way, but there were children everywhere. Even in the pools and hot tubs past 9pm. I wish there was an adult only time
Bar and restaurant staff were exceptionally nice and professional.
The weather!!
Enjoying an outdoor pool in northern Michigan during March/April was not on my 2026 bingo card but the experience was amazing! Such a great amenity. The views of the Traverse Bay are breathtaking as well.
Awesome restaurant
They closed the outdoor pool, which was the reason that we booked! Indoor pool had too many people and was dirty.
I loved all of the amenities, especially the outdoor heated pool!
Nice hotel with great location. We went up north for just 2 nights for family of 5 with mix of toddler & teenagers. We all love sauna, hot tub & pools. Have live music at the lounge & shuttle service to airport & downtown. We sat down one night & listen to music, there is big fireplace, with tables & couch. Pretty impressed with bathroom amenities, I haven’t seen Bvlgari for such a long time at other hotels even a fancier one we had stayed, they also set up Fiji bottle waters upon arrival & refill when make up room. Somehow both of our rooms on 3rd floor- Wifi signal were very spotty. My son’s room had to change finally and their internet work. My husband didnt want to move so we just use a bit here and there, even our 5G from phone is very weak too. Front desk are friendly & helpful, make sure to check on my room twice if we want to move or not. This is a good choice whenever in Traverse City.
Loved the facility, service, hot tub, and sauna
Pool was very cold and too dark
Uncomfortable bed, shades on window do not fit, sends too much light in the early morning hours. Seems to be no noise barriers between rooms or from your room to the hallway. Front desk staff seems too busy talking amongst themselves in a foreign language. I felt like I was burden to bother them. Pools are not clean, hair and debris everywhere. Restaurant is mid with arrogant staff and everything on the plate is beige. No creativity for the price. Breakfast is not included. For the price, save yourself the mediocre accommodations and indifferent staff and stay elsewhere
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are nice, the staff are great. However, I wish it was less kid friendly. I apologize for saying that, but this hotel comes off as a adult get-a-way, but the pools and hot tub were filled with children, even past 9pm. I wish there was at least a "past 8pm adults only" or something. The rooms walls are also very thin, you can hear others in the rooms next to you and above you, doors slamming will wake you up, and the google cast didn't work on our TV so we stuck with cable. It's a nice hotel, but I feel it needs to be geared towards adult luxury, as it is promoted that way. We wanted a trip away from the stressors of life and noise, we didn't get that. The outdoor pool was cool and the fire pit area, but it is all overhyped. Maybe it is better in the summer? We did a winter stay.
Beautiful property with spacious updated rooms. All of the staff were kind and friendly. Indoor pool and hot tub were a bonus in the chilly weather. Shuttle into town definitely a bonus. Looking forward to booking there again very soon!
Great location to the main attractions.
Staff was not friendly. Older property. Thought pricing for 1 night was too high for what it offered.
Fantastic stay. Great ambiance…rooms were wonderful with great products…highly recommend! The restaurant was high quality with great service & thoughtful seating for a cozy experience. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.
Everything!!!
The pool should stay open later for adults only!
Great family hotel! We enjoyed the pools and the restaurant in the hotel! Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and kind!
Perfect hotel stay for a family looking for a winter getaway. The staff was extremely friendly and always eager to help.
Excellent hotel and service. Rooms great. Pool is great both indoor and outdoor.shuttle service is awesome to downtown and Wille was great and went the extra mile. Anytime I stay in TC, I will book this hotel.
Really nice hotel. From check in- staff was super friendly. Room was clean, beds comfy. The outdoor pool was amazing in the winter cold, so toasty. The indoor pool, spa and sauna were nice. The beautiful lobby had live music from 6-9. The only issues we had were no microwave, and no continental breakfast. But this wasn’t a huge issue. The hotel was Quiet believe it or not.
I truly enjoyed my stay at Delamar TC. The staff was warm and friendly. I loved the outdoor heated pool and cozy cabanas and took advantage of their shuttle into downtown TC.
The Delamar Hotel was a delightful spot to celebrate my 70th birthday. The staff were welcoming and professional, the food was absolutely phenomenal, the accommodation and amenities were spectacular, especially jumping in to the 102° heated outdoor pool in the middle of winter! What a treat! It was definitely on my bucket list and I was so excited to check that box on this trip. Can’t wait to return and explore more of the wonders of the Traverse City area!
It was very clean . The bed was comfortable. The heated outside pool was nice. All the live plants in the hotel was a nice touch.
The room I chose I thought had a good view of the lake but it didn't tell me it was a view of a parking lot with water in sight. Both chairs in our room was old and torn or stained which wasn't a good first impression but the ambiance of the hotel and cleanliness made up for it .
Loved the pool room! Housekeeping was EXCELLENT!
I paid for a bay view room and only had a corner window.
Great location, nice amenities. Nice staff at front desk the handed out our welcome bags to our other 5 rooms at check in.
This was our first stay at the Delamar and we will definitely stay again! The staff is very friendly, the rooms are well-appointed, clean and very comfortable. The location is ideal; less than a half mile from shopping, restaurants, etc. on Front Street. The heated outdoor pool is so fun - swimming in the snow! Highly recommend the Delamar!
