Probably the price and location of the hotel was the only pleasing part. That’s about it.
At first glance the room looked nice. But when I really looked around it was definitely not something somebody should pay for. Pictures hopefully gives justice. Let’s just say a deep clean would be a good start. No body should have to pay money just to be scared simply take your socks off and feel comfortable in this room.
Location close the Great American BallPark
Elevator went down so only could use one elevator. And the temperature in lobby and hallways was very warm
Didn't care much for the eggs. They tasted fake. But the location to confrance center and white castle was good.
Good spot for first timers
Think above floor AC was leaking into our window and onto floor
I loved the shuttle service a lot!!!! Should definitely be a regular thing. There was also an issue with my bill, and they were kind, and immediately fixed it. The front desk workers were very personable, and friendly.
No complaints
Nothing.
The room was stinky like mold and endless cigarettes. The room was not as nice and clean as it looked on the pictures. After traveling over 300 miles I checked in and out within a 15 minute span. Yes, I forfeited a couple hundred dollars but there was no way me and my children were spending one night there.
Cleanliness, easy access, pool, workout room, self laundry , loved the shower !
The smell of smoke, the television had no signal and the bed is hard as a rock
There is a lot of upgrades that need to be made . The staff seem very lazy , instead of sitting around they was a lot of cleaning that could have been done. I feel like first impressions are everything and when you first walk in it’s definitely not presentable. It smells old , and sho doesn’t have mirrors in a room. My personal opinion is the whole thing needs to be remolded.
Staff very friendly
Stunk, old, and too expensive for the quality.
Overall, the hotel is badly in need of renovation. The Holiday Inn brand is not well represented by this hotel. Two of the ice machines I attempted to use were down and the water fountain didn't work either. The room was okay, but the bathroom door doesn't shut all the way either and that can be weird for siblings attempting to use the restroom or shower.
The pizza place across the road made dinner easy to get and was good.
The lady at the front desk was not very friendly until we left the next morning. Told to pay for breakfast at buffet area then they had to go to the front desk for change and did not get all of my change. They kept almost one dollar and thought that was acceptable. The room floor was not swept. We found an outlet to plug in medical equipment and found an empty bottle of pop behind the stand and a mountain of dust. The bed was way too firm. I have only experienced one worse place and many much better places. I will never stay there again.
Pool with nice and decent location from stadium. Ride share available by the city to game. A few homeless people in the area.
Smelled like smoke, only given 2 towels for the four of us and told they didn't have anymore because no housekeeping on Sunday night. Had to take from pool towels.
Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The gentleman that was there Friday was extremely helpful with us taking our granddaughter into the pool offering us a floatation vest for her and was extremely helpful and friendly to us . Would highly recommend this hotel everyone was great
Breakfast was good but very simple. Would have loved eggs, meat and potatoes
Location
Check-in went horrible. The manager was cussing.
Location
Breakfast wasn’t really good.
Outdoor pool
The rooms need updated and it smelled musked
Didnt choose breakfast; it didn't look like it was worth what they were charging for it.
I had a terrible experience at the Holiday Inn Covington Riverfront and would not recommend staying here. Even though I had a confirmed reservation, they didn't have a room available when I arrived. I ended up waiting for hours before I could finally check in. When I got to my first room, it was absolutely disgusting. There was mold in the bathroom, the mirror had what looked like blood stains on it, and the room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The floors throughout the hotel were dirty and looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. The pool was just as bad. The water was cloudy and had a greasy film floating on the surface, so there was no way I was letting my family swim in it. To make matters worse, the hotel advertises free breakfast online, but when I went to the breakfast buffet the next morning, I was told I needed a voucher and would have to pay $12 without one. That was misleading and very frustrating. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and showed little interest in resolving any of the issues. After spending just one night there, I felt like I needed another shower because the entire experience was so unpleasant. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had, and I won't be returning.
it was comfortable and close to the event we were going to but not easily walkable to the great american ball park
the breakfast is not free like it says on the website and the front desk staff in the morning (6:45am on 7-2-2026) was condescending and rude when i had questions about it, since it is listed as free when i booked—i hope she was just having a bad day and this isn’t a daily occurrence. luckily there was a waffle house across the street with super energetic and friendly staff!!
Beds were comfortable, room was clean, decent shower, decent breakfast. We had an issue between Booking.Com and the hotel (my fault); Booking.Com was great but their evening front desk staff was rude and unapologetic. Smokers constantly outside front door so you have to walk through it to leave the hotel. Front desk was so friendly after our booking issue that they put us in Room 130, which is literally right next to an industrial bug zapper near the outside door so all night you can hear bugs being zapped as they fly into it. Unless there was nothing else affordable in the area, this would not be top on my list. If they had a good deal on a room and I was only staying for a night or 2, it would work.
See above.
Location was great with plenty of food spots around it.
The facilities were worn down, the ice machine was terrible, the A/C wasn’t that good, there was mold in the bathrooms and the bathrooms were dingy.
My flight was delayed 11 hours and this was my experience for my reservation: Terrible customer service. The lady at the front desk working 6/11/2026 at 3:51pm was extremely rude to me. I called last night multiple times. She said oh no you didn’t call me. Really? I have a call log for 3 separate calls to the same phone number. The first time I connected with her. The 2nd time we got disconnected and she never called back. The 3rd time she told me that I needed to reach out to the third party I booked with. I did reach out to the third party like she rudely suggested. They told me it would be modified after unsuccessfully being able to over the phone. I go to check in today and she tells me oh you were supposed to be here at 4am. I told her that I did talk on the phone with both parties and that it should’ve been changed. She responds, “that’s on you.” I will reach out to corporate and file a formal complaint against how I was treated. It’s very unfair and I had been nothing but being nice. After having dealt with a plane delayed for 11 hours. The least I thought I could expect was some sympathy. This hotel at least the lady working the front desk. Has none.
Near the highway
Coffee maker didn’t work. Room was dingy.
The location on the Ohio river with views of the bridges and Cincinnati was very nice.
This place is a mess. In our room, the sink didn’t drain, the desk chair was broken, there was no coffee maker, though there was coffee and all of the fixings for it, it was just a mess and needs a major overhaul.
The hotel staff was lovely.
The property needs a lot of love. It doesn’t seem clean but it could be the dated carpeting. Bathroom was new and very nice. There was too much dust and a strong smell of cannabis was prevalent in our room at times? The trains are very loud as is the traffic on the riverside. We were not given breakfast vouchers at check-in. We were inconvenienced to provide the vouchers from the front desk or pay $10.??. That’s crazy. Almost everyone had to get vouchers they should have been given at check-in.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful, had an early check in with no issues and greeted with nothing but smiles. The rooms are so quaint and comfortable, the bed was absolutely amazing and comfortable. Smart move with the Dove bottles.
My only complaint is the Pool Area *Unsanitary *Invest In an Indoor pool area, especially for whenever it rains
Shower was great..beds comfortable. Breakfast staff were nice
Room seemed crowdef
Got two dirty rooms had to cancel still no refund.
The rooms were filthy
I was the bus driver for a high school group and the way they welcomed us and took care of us was amazing . The staff went out of their way to make it a good experience for us
Everything is good
The staff was the best part of my stay.
The breakfast was poor quality. The location was sketchy. Police were called for a nake man in the bathroom who was drunk.
Location
Bed was uncomfortable and blinds are not designed to close all the way
Chris at the service desk genuinely cared
The hotel room looked like it was from 1976… old phone yellowed, cracks in the wall, lights out on the hallways, cracks in the lights, flooding showers, ac/heat broken, broken dresser drawers.
Breakfast was less than average.
No phone in the room! We could only enter through the front door. Rear door could not be entered using the room key! Strange odor noticed in the lobby. High cost for poor quality!
the Lobby was nicely remodeled and the location was great in terms of being close to Paycor Stadium.
We were woken up by staff at 2am with pounding on our door, just to "confirm" our last name on the reservation. The rooms were old, dirty, and out of bathroom products. Our room was not even cleaned or touched for the couple nights we stayed there and made sure our Do Not Disturb sign was NOT visible. Would never stay here again.
Breakfast was good and location was perfect it was close by everything we did. I liked that the hotel had a shuttle to the stadium for the baseball game
Had to ask for bedding for the pull out coach. They didn’t have the bedding we were only given 2 sheets.
It was in a horrible area so bad that we decided not to stay the picture online was different then what it looked like
The breakfast was terrible. Food was cold .coffee was undrinkable didn't like the sliding bathroom door
Many fast food options nearby and walking distance. Pool was very clean. I didn't use the gym but it had your basic equipment. Wifi connection was pretty quick as well. I very much appreciated the good quality shampoo/conditioner they provided "Dove" as well as hand soap and lotion. Air conditioner was great too and the beds are really comfortable! Free ice/water and coffee in lobby.
There is no security in entrance/lobby, anyone can just walk in and go inside the hotel. The shower drain seemed clogged because the water would puddle up. The pool towels were damp so i had to lay them out to dry before heading inside the pool.
The location was close to our event.
Due the quality of the hotel we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel. There was no available staff housekeeping wasn’t available at the appropriate times Sunday we were woke up 3 hours prior to check out which disrupted our rest. There wasn’t any soap toilet paper and enough clean towels and wash cloths. Also bathroom sink wash clogged and the overall cleanness wasn’t acceptable. If we would have seen the rooms in advance we wouldn’t have booked at this hotel. The pictures of the lobby look amazing which is kinda like theft by deception. We will never stay at this hotel again.
Good location. Close to where we needed to be.
Curtains did not close all the way and there were no blinds. Light from parking lot shined in all night and sunlight took over at dawn. There needs to be a way to block out light for sleeping.
Room layout
Beds hard, door stuck and shower was slippery and not hand rail.
Location was great. Less than a mile from everything to Covington or Cincinnati
For what you pay the rooms are a little outdated for a holiday inn
This hotel delivers much more than you usually expect at a Holiday Inn. The room with a view of the Ohio river was small, but comfortable and quite up-to-date . Breakfast was also better than average, but the most noticeable thing was the hospitality of the staff. BETH and Carla at the front desk were particularly welcoming and helpful. The pool was very comfortable and clean with generous hours.
Location
Old and out of date. Smelled weed through out the hotel.
The bar/restaurant wasn’t really that good, we ordered burgers and they were over cooked, the potatoes for breakfast were like eating rocks and the $30 “insurance” fee that I have never had to pay before has not been refunded after I was told it was immediate
Location was perfect.
Hotel outdated. Staff at check in were more interested in talking and texting on their phones.
close to the bars
it was dingy and ghetto feeling
Very convenient and lots of food options around and easy walk into Cincinnati
Everything was fine
Location is amazing , very good breakfast
Hotel as whole, including rooms, reception and amenities looks run down, tired, old and dated and requires some serious TLC and updating
Location to Paycor u can walk to take bus
Na
The location was convenient
The wait at the desk was so long. The card I booked with I didn’t have it exactly bc it was left at home but I had other cards with me with my name on and proved who I was and she still said no. So we had to use our friends card instead.
Location
Room needed upgrading
Location
The key system was down so we did not have keys for our entire stay. We had to wait for someone to let us into our room which was incredibly inconvenient and felt unsafe.
Everything
Nothing
The cleanliness and staff at the hotel
Wish there was water stations on every floor
Great location for Bengals game. We took advantage of the golf cart transportation to and from the game.
Seems to be an older hotel that could use a little more remodeling.
Love the location!
The tv in the room was very disappointing. Most main channels including local news etc. were not available. Basic channels such as ESPN, ABC, CBS, Fox were not available! Had to go to a bar or to the lobby to watch. Very inconvenient!
Clean room, great staff. Was able to easily walk to Cincinnati Begals stadium across the river, as we were in town for a game.
It’s a good hotel. Would stay there again.
Great place
.
Curtains were moldy in the room.
Air conditioner worked very well. Found a live ant on my pillow. And windows had curtains but only sheers closed, leaving lots of light from parking lot in to room.
The staff was really great, but this propriety needs a massive upgrade. It was just really dirty and unkempt. I would probably look for a different place next time.
From the moment we checked in we were told that the room we had reserved was not available. Also acted like she was doing us a favor by offering us another room since they were sold out. The air conditioner did not work, told the front desk, basically nothing they could do nothing since it was sold out. Blamed Expedia for all the problems but I have never had a bad experience with booking thru Expedia.
Holiday Inn was nice. 1 mile walk to Paycor stadium and down Cincinnati a few minutes walk further. There was a gym. Equipment was fine just lacked a range of lower denomination free weights (only had 25, 35, 40 and 45lbs).
the breakfast should have been free
cofee machine in room broken room 105
Checked in room was unclean, filled with McDonald's waste and beer.
Everything was quite good
I appreciated the toiletries provided in the bathroom. The staff was great - especially the gentleman who took care of the breakfast buffet. Hallway and room was a little musty and there was a smoke smell coming through.
Clean, efficient, the staff is very nice. Excellent for going to the Great American Ballpark!
Very nice for price and staff was extra nice and helpful in every way I had no car and they guided me and were overly nice and I was shocked that coffee was as good as it was
The staff was great and the facility was perfect for the even we attended!
Our ac in our room didnt work, but the problem was resolved quickly by staff with a room change! And breakfast was not great and could use some improvement.
Great location as I came into town for a Bengals game. Easy 15 min walk across bridge to Paycor Stadium
We went to the JR Ward event, and the hotel was easy to locate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable. My friend that was with me was handicapped and a walker chair even though she could not get it into the bathroom she was able to get to the toilet because she could hand on to the sink to get to it and the bar was within reach. To us, it felt like you were home.
I think the doorways should have been a little wider. But other than that, I have nothing I didn't like about the stay or the place.
Wasn't fancy but clean and comfortable. Staff was great.
Very nice staff!
