Schönes ruhiges Zimmer, obwohl es zur Straße hin lag. Ich war nur für 1 Nacht dort und musste morgens um 6 wieder los, so dass ich nichts zum Frühstück sagen kann. Ich hätte ein Lunchpaket bekommen können, allerdings wären auf dem Sandwich Käse und Schinken gewesen - nichts für mich als Vegetarier, etwas Schade, dass man da keine Auswahlmöglichkeit hatte.

Für eine Nacht zu teuer, lag wohl am Marathon, der an dem Abend stattfand.

Helt greit rom. Frokosten var nydelig. Personalet hyggelig.

Great stay, great location. We were grateful to be upgraded to a room with a sea view. The room is compact but lacked nothing. Minimalist decor added to the feel of space. Bathroom was sufficient. Highlight of the hotel is the staff, fabulous breakfast which is included in the price of the room (huge selection) and the lounge with coffee and tea.

Nice stay in the city center. Service mindes staff in the reception. For example. I needed to bortom an iron. Even though the staff in the reception did not know were it was locared exactely, the staff event to find it. Clean room.

Das Frühstück war sehr ausreichend vielfältig. Die Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten waren perfekt. das Zimmer war ideal von der Grösse her und sauber.

Next to a good restaurant

The staff were rude and horrible. Especially Irina and the night manager. Will never stay here again and suggest you don’t either. I paid equivalent of $435 USD a night which included a very nice breakfast. However the day I checked out early for a flight I was told the kitchen would make a to go meal for us. I asked what it would be and was told I would get a call back — which I never did. When I called later to confirm I was told the to go breakfast would be ham and cheese sandwiches. Now, being vegetarian and Jewish, we don’t eat ham. When I told Irina this she said there was nothing that could be done. She suggested we take out the ham and eat just the bread. I asked it the chef in the morning could make two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and was told absolutely not. When I asked for a partial refund again I was told no. Even a nominal refund as an apology for the inconvenience would have gone a long way. Instead she argues and talked over me. When I later calmly asked the nurse guy manager he said they were not obligated to do anything and that providing the to go meal was an extra service. I asked them what the felt the heart of hospitality was and they did not have an answer. I said I knew they had the discretion to make an alternative or make a small refund but they were choosing not to do so. The attitude was the rub, not interested in being helpful. And for what? A simple request. Please choose another hotel. This one is not worth the money bc the service is terrible, awful, despicable.

Great breakfast, super comfy mattress and light and fluffy duvet. Comfortable seating area with free tea/coffee. Great location near main shopping street, bus station, good restaurants.

The hotel offers an excellent breakfast with many delicious options! The staff is excellent and very helpful. The rooms are small and cramped and get very hot in the early morning; I think they overdo it a bit with the heating. The cleanliness could be better. Compared to other hotels in the area, I think it's good value for money because the location is great, close to many good restaurants, shops, and markets. But the cleanliness leaves something to be desired.

Great location, bedroom comfortable with a fridge, quiet, breakfast room bright and airy with excellent range of buffet breakfast. Luggage store is available. Very close to a bus stop for the AirPort Express bus.

Front desk often quite busy - could do with more staff on reception to deal with other queries. No ice machine available for guests and only option was for reception staff to fetch from adjoining restaurant upon request - not always a quick process. Would be good if they cleared the snow/ice from the front of the hotel like a lot of the businesses do - it can be extremely slippery which is extra tricky with luggage to manoeuvre in/out.

I would like to express SPECIAL THANKS TO DARINA at the front desk who helped me a lot with the confirmation of my five (5) tours. It was challenging for me after my flight to Tromso on March 23 was cancelled due to a sever snowstorm. I had to re-book everything, including the tours. I was under big stress and Darina was amazing: courteous, friendly, compassionate, understanding, kind, efficient, firm when needed (re: being picked up at the hotel for the Northern Lights Tour), with a great sense of humor (which I really needed under the circumstances, a true Professional with a capital letter "P." I felt very comfortable and at ease, and "the Star of the Show!" I would like The Administration of the Hotel to know and acknowledge hard work and excellent service provided by Darina! I am sure she is a great asset to/for the Hotel. Please let her know how appreciative I am of her assistance and my excellent review of her services. Thank you, Darina! I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I also really appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The location was excellent and very convenient for getting around and exploring the area. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. I would happily stay here again in the future.

El tamaño de la habitación es muy justo. La limpieza no es muy profunda aunque sí correcta. En la televisión no había ningún canal internacional en español

So central! Everything we needed was right on our doorstep.

The rooms were a little small for the price we paid, but I understand Norway is quite expensive.

Great bathroom, helpful staff, all very clean and spacious and comfy. The breakfast was very good, especially the scrambled eggs.

Room is not soundproof, breakfast potatoes were partially rotten and the baked beans were cold. Heard a lot of noise, banging doors, cleaners etc.

Wir hatten 5 Übernachtungen gebucht. Während dieser Zeit wurde das Zimmer nur 2x gereinigt und das zweite Mal auch nur nachdem reklamiert wurde. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimm nicht. Bezahlt man pro Nacht über 300 Chf oder Euro und bekommt keine regelmässige Reinigung. Das Zimmer war knapp 12 Quadratmeter gross (inklusive Bad) und hatte kaum Platz um die Kleider zu verstauen.

Shower was a little too small and the water pipes a little slow to drain.

Very nice hotel just steps from the cathedral. A generous breakfast and fast, friendly staff. Internally connected to the Egon restaurant.

Location is great, with lots of restaurants and shops just a five minute walk away. We enjoyed the shuffleboard in the hotel and the breakfast was nice. The hotel itself was okay. The room is small and very basic. Our room was facing the road and it was very noisy one night, there were people shouting on the street at 3am for a long time and I didn’t feel like the windows were very sound proof. I would recommend asking for a room away from the road.

The windows were open when i came into my room so it was freezing and the heater didn’t work untill some time during the night. The breakfast was really good and the staff at breakfast were nice.

We stayed in a standard room which we found quite small but otherwise had everything we needed for a 4 day trip in Tromso, including a shoehorn which came handy during winter. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close to everywhere. Our compliments to the staff especially at the breakfast room, by the way the breakfast buffet is 5* with good quality products and a wide variety.

A beautiful hotel, attentive staff, a lovely and delightful breakfast, this is just a wonderful place to stay!

We arrived earlier than 3pm and even though we’d booked one of the most expensive rooms, the room wasn’t available until 3pm. This is quite unlike other Thon Hotels we’ve used. Obviously there’s no additional benefits for those booking more expensive rooms. Thon had sold us card vouchers worth Kr 600 to spend in the hotel but these are almost impossible to use which is a shame. I wanted to buy bottled beer to take back to the UK but reception refused to sell me these. The carpet outside Room is dangerously defective and a significant trip hazard. Breakfast was good as expected but the tables are very close together, unlike other Thon hotels we’ve stayed at. A shame that Thon misled us with the vouchers they sold me!!!!

Stayed here twice during a 9-day visit to Norway and the hotel was brilliant - great location, incredible breakfast, fab rooms, great staff, place was warm and very comfortable...can't fault it

Small rooms but comfortable. Quite expensive but all hotels in Tromso are expensive and this one offers better value than the others. Comfy beds, not noisy at all, and a superb breakfast - one of the best we've ever had - with excellent provision for gluten-free too.

El hotel superó mis expectativas. El staff fue muy amable y atento en todo momento, la habitación es amplia y cómoda (sobre todo en comparación con alojamientos de precio similar en Noruega), el desayuno es excelente y tiene una muy buena ubicación en el centro de la ciudad (cerca de los principales comercios, del puerto, del puente al continente, con acceso a medios de transporte, etc). Para recomendar.

Previsibilidad en el servicio de limpieza de la habitación (la limpieza estuvo muy bien, solo que ocurría en momentos distintos a lo solicitado con el cartel en la puerta).

Breakfast buffet was brilliant! Loads to choose from. Location was so great! So easy to walk to a lot of beautiful places. 5 mins from the harbour. 4-5 mins walk to meet for the excursions we went on. Perfect. Already looking at booking again!

So so minor…There wasn’t any English breakfast tea. But they did have every other tea possible! ☺️

Bit expensive for what it was. Wasn’t very sound proof, facing the road it gets a little noise from cars ect.. shower head not that best.,carpet in corridors is a bit tacky looking. Noticed quite alot of dust build up under the bed and under the desk area when I picked things up

The location is 1 min walk to the main Street, the room was clean and spacious. The stuff at the reception and breakfast was very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast variety was good.

Die zentrale Lage des Thon Hotel Polar ist hervorragend fuer Ausflüge und Besichtigungen in der Stadt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind Fuß läufig erreichbar. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Hervorragend ist die Vielfalt des reichhaltigen Fruehstuecksbuffets. Da ist fuer jeden etwas dabei.

We booked a Business Room, which was honestly shocking and very disappointing. While the room was spacious, it had many serious flaws. Calling it a “Business Room” is misleading when the view is just the wall of a neighboring building, the floor is damaged, and the room was clearly not properly cleaned. We found a large amount of long hair in the shower cabin and scattered throughout the room. In the toilet, there was also hair and dried urine — extremely unhygienic and unacceptable. This was one of the worst room conditions we have ever experienced. Unfortunately, we could not change rooms because the hotel was fully booked. We were offered a 50% discount, but even at half price, the condition of the room was still unacceptable. We had no choice but to stay the night in this unpleasant room, which is not what you expect when spending your holidays. The hotel clearly needs to reassess its room standards, improve housekeeping control, and carry out overdue renovation work. The price is definitely not justified. For future trips to Tromsø, we will only book Thon Hotel Tromsø, where we have had excellent experiences. Sadly, Thon Hotel Polar did not meet expectations at all.

Det ligger fint til. Virker som en rolig gate og kort vei til nerstranda og tilbud i Storgata.

Iskold luft fra ventilationsanlægget og meget lidt gulvplads til for eksempel at åbne sin kuffert.

Super war die Lage und das gute Frühstücksbuffet.

Der Rezeptionist war eine Frechheit. Er konnte uns keine vernünftigen Antworten geben. Auf die Frage wo man Ausrüstung ausleihen kann, kam nur die Antwort wir sollen im Internet nachschauen. Er wusste auch nicht die Betriebszeiten der Fjellheisen Seilbahn am Silvester Abend. Auf die Frage eines anderen Gastes ob auch in Norwegen der 1. Jänner ein Feiertag ist, meinte nur er weiß es nicht, da er eh jeden Tag arbeiten muss. Das Hotel war schon sehr abgewohnt und es war überall sehr kühl.

We stayed here 3rd-7th January 2025 and stayed in room 439. The room is a decent size and plenty of room. It was lovely and warm and you could open the window if you liked. Bed was lovely and we slept well. It’s in a perfect location to the supermarket, Hard Rock Cafe, McDonalds, the harbour. Great selection at breakfast. If I was to come to Tromso again I would stay in this hotel.
