This was a short visit- needed some sun, sand and water for my family before school starts. I was pleasantly surprised by the location, property and staff. My flight was arriving early so I called the property requesting early check in. The front desk lady was pleasant and advised they would do their best. With no other expectations, I headed to the hotel with my family. Property was really clean- across the street from the beach. Front desk agent was very pleasant. I was able to do an early check in and head to the beach. Kudos to the front desk team. One front desk agent, offered my autistic son stickers which made his day. Room was clean , had a view of the ocean- I would definitely return. Everyone was nice- even the valet guy which I didn’t even valet my car. Would recommend this property a million times

We came here to enjoy a couple of days before boarding our cruise. The visit was wonderful and the staff did NOT disappoint. The valet guys were super and friendly and efficient in helping us. The front desk was above and beyond with check in and every interaction thereafter. But the best service off all was provided by Kushboo in the dining area for breakfast both days. She was the friendliest person (with the best smile) we met on our trip to this hotel. Steve behind the bar was very nice as well and we enjoyed chatting with him while enjoying the pool. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Fort Lauderdale area!!! P.S. our views from the room could not be beat! 11th floor was amazing!

Best experience! Great customer service at the front desk. When we checked in we met Rosa with a smile and explained everything about the property. She send us off to the best room with an amazing view of the beach! Prior to check out we met Pita which was super friendly and assisted with a late check out. Will be back to this property!

Overall incredible experience. But there is a hidden gem inside the hotel and that’s their restaurant Steelpan. First we had breakfast over there and we loved it Raj our server was really helpful and was on top of everything, like refilling coffee , water we don’t have to ask for it he already knew it. Then he recommended to come and try their lunch menu and my god their her chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwich we ever had. 5 star to Sonesta and their team members.

I chose Sonesta Ft. Lauderdale Beach to celebrate my birthday and I have no regrets! The front desk was welcoming and helpful. Although I didnt bring my pet, the hotel is pet friendly yet I saw no negative signs of pets. The hotel is across the beach and your beach chairs were included. The hotel has a restaurant/bar and Andy was AWESOME! Throughout my stay, I met one of the Managers Ron and he checked in on me daily. When he learned that I was celebrating my bday, he had a cheese tray and bottle of sparkling sent to my room:). The hotel is near/walking distance/$6 uber ride away from ALL of the highlights in the area!

First, let me start by saying the view was absolutely amazing. My family and I loved waking up every morning, opening the curtains, and seeing the beautiful beach. The location is definitely this hotel's biggest selling point. Unfortunately, there were several issues that made our stay disappointing. The rooms were much smaller than they appeared in the photos online, and the queen beds felt more like full-size beds. When you walk into the lobby, it looks spectacular and gives the impression of a luxury experience. However, once you get to the rooms, they don't match the same level of quality or appearance. I wish the same effort that was put into renovating and maintaining the lobby had been extended to the guest rooms. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. We arrived to a warm room with the thermostat already reading 76 degrees. We adjusted it and notified the front desk before heading out to do some sightseeing, as we were in town for the Ballin' on the Beach tournament. When we returned later that evening after grabbing dinner, the room was still warm and the thermostat had actually gone up to 77 degrees. We called the front desk again around 9:45 p.m., and they sent maintenance. Oddly enough, the maintenance worker arrived with equipment that appeared to be for handling leaks. After explaining that our issue was the air conditioning, he left the room. About five minutes later, the front desk called and informed us that they would move us to another room. By this point, it was around 10:25 p.m. Thankfully, the new room was right next door on the same floor. However, when we entered, it was also warm and sitting at 76 degrees. Eventually, the air conditioning began working properly, and we thought our problems were finally solved. Then my husband went to use the bathroom and discovered the toilet wouldn't flush. I honestly couldn't make this up. Now we had a cool room but no functioning toilet. To the staff's credit, they responded quickly whenever we called. They were friendly, professional, and did their best to address each issue. However, it was frustrating that my family had to deal with so many problems in the first place. Another surprise was the Fiji water left in the room. If you open one, an $8 charge is automatically added to your bill. That felt excessive and should be made more obvious to guests. To top it all off, on our final night, the air conditioning stopped working again, leaving us to sleep in another warm room. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless your only priorities are being close to the beach and having a place to sleep. The incredible view and friendly staff are the reasons I'm giving it 2 stars, and honestly, that's being generous.

The rooms are very nice, and the hotel is right across the highway from the beach. Good luck getting across that highway. No overpass or underpass, and the traffic light changes very quickly. My room was quite nice, but I'm having a major problem with my bill. When I arrived, they said my reservation had been cancelled. The clerk checked me in to a room, and I wound up getting billed TWICE on the same credit card! I just called, and the person who took the information told me to call back on Monday and speak with accounting. Why can't THEY call me? I put in a complaint through my bank/credit card. This place isn't cheap.....they should offer better customer service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Sonesta! We went for vacation and a birthday. Check in was a breeze with Andrea, we got a great room that looked out over the ocean and the hotel was quiet in a great location of Fort Lauderdale beach. Andrea and Edlet at the front desk were so nice and helpful. Sophie, Raj and Monica in the hotel restaurant were so fun, kind and very helpful. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Great location for walking to grocery stores, shops/restaurants and the beach. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!!

I recently stayed at this hotel for a quick business trip and was thoroughly let down by the lack of basic amenities and indifferent staff. From the moment I pulled up, things felt off. Valet parking was the first red flag — $45 per night, which felt extremely expensive for what turned out to be average service. They were slow to retrieve my car the next morning, and I had to wait over 20 minutes despite being one of only a few guests checking out. The real frustration came with the luggage situation. Upon arrival, there wasn’t a single luggage cart available at the entrance. When I asked the front desk for one, the employee just shrugged and vaguely pointed toward the elevators. I ended up wandering around three different floors like an idiot, dragging my heavy suitcase and carry-on up and down hallways before finally locating one tucked away in a service area. No one offered to help, and no apology was given when I mentioned how ridiculous it was. Customer service overall felt nonexistent. Staff seemed disengaged and unprepared for even basic requests. Check-in was slow, and simple questions about amenities were met with minimal effort responses. For a hotel charging these rates, I expected at least competent and attentive service — not this level of inconvenience. The room itself was fine (nothing special), but the poor first impression and lack of support really soured the entire experience. I won’t be returning and would caution others to look elsewhere unless you enjoy self-service chaos and expensive add-ons. Save your money and dignity — there are better options nearby.

The most incredible experience I’ve had since arriving! Everyone at Sonesta was welcoming and always greeted us with a smile. Andrea, Paula, and Kihan were exceptionally kind, helpful, and made everything easy to understand from the very beginning. The food was amazing—delicious breakfasts and some of the best burgers I’ve had. The bar staff Andy y Patrick were also incredibly friendly and provided outstanding service throughout our stay. I would come back a thousand times without hesitation. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

My family and I stayed at Sonesta Fort Lauderdale for a family reunion and booked 6 rooms under the Rochester name for 3–4 days. Overall, this hotel has a great location and nice amenities, but unfortunately the service and communication issues heavily impacted our stay. First, I want to recognize a few staff members who truly stood out: • Sophie at Steelpan Restaurant – Extremely sweet, attentive, and gave great food recommendations as well as local sightseeing suggestions. • Rosa Soto (Front Desk) – Very kind, helpful, and informative. She was the only one who took the time to properly explain amenities and provide my complimentary breakfast vouchers. • Andy (Pool Bar) – Very attentive, friendly, and made us feel comfortable and welcomed at the outdoor pool bar. Now for the concerns: Unfortunately, our initial check-in experience with Adeline (Front Desk Lead) immediately set the tone for the stay. As someone who works in hospitality, I was disappointed by the rushed and dismissive interaction. There was no warm greeting, no explanation of amenities, no overview of Platinum member benefits, and I felt more like a burden than a guest. When I later called to request toiletries, I also felt rushed off the phone. Pros: • Accommodated our early check-in and late checkout requests • Amazing location – beach directly across the street • Beautiful ocean views • Heated pool with outdoor bar and smoking area • Happy hour menu was great Cons: Room Conditions • Rooms felt dated and dusty • Ventilation was poor and rooms felt stuffy • One of our rooms had a clogged toilet • No hot water in one room • Phones in rooms were not functioning Lack of Communication / Disorganization Breakfast information changed almost daily: * Day 1: I paid for breakfast because no one informed me about my complimentary vouchers * Day 2: I was told only continental breakfast was included * Day 3: I was told I could order anything except steak & eggs This inconsistency made the experience frustrating and unorganized. Biggest Issue: Valet Service This was by far the most stressful part of our stay. On the first day, we called 30 minutes in advance to retrieve our vehicle. After waiting over 40 minutes, we contacted the front desk and were told to come downstairs. Once on the drive, valet informed us they were backed up and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. This caused us to be extremely late to an event. A manager apologized and advised that valet charges would be covered and our vehicle would be placed under VIP priority. Unfortunately, things escalated further on our last day. The valet team lost my rental car keys, which caused me to miss my flight entirely. Because of this, I had to: * Extend my rental car reservation * Rebook my flight * Stay an additional night unexpectedly * Replace lost rental keys The hotel assisted in some of this, but what was most frustrating was checking out the next day and still being charged for the additional stay despite being told there were notes on my account. I was instructed to dispute it after leaving, which was uncomfortable because I did not feel this should have been unresolved before departure. Final Thoughts: Sonesta Fort Lauderdale has a fantastic location and solid amenities, but the service, communication, and organization need serious improvement. There were bright spots thanks to a few wonderful staff members, but overall my family left feeling frustrated, brushed off, and disappointed—especially after such major avoidable issues. I am hoping management reaches out to properly resolve the outstanding billing disputes and address the stress this caused my family.

Jessica was amazing highly attentive professional and above all a pleasure she explained the menu to us and was accommodating with everything we will definitely come back and ask for her as our waitress.

This resort is great if you want to come, relax, and enjoy the beach! My mom and I came here for an extended weekend and had the best time! The food was excellent, the restaurant service was great especially Khushboo! The views of the beach from our room were beautiful. Location is great for the beach, while not directly on it, all you have to do is cross the street and you’re there. Ruben sets you up on the beach with beach chairs and an umbrella. While staying at this resort, the beach chairs are free but if you want an umbrella it’s $30 for the day. There’s not much that’s actually around this hotel, but it’s about a 10 minute drive to Las Olas Blvd where there’s a huge strip of shops, desserts, and food. Uber is recommended as it’s cheaper and quicker to get around compared to taxi services. I definitely recommend staying here for a short weekend getaway!

My husband and I stayed at the Sonesta to spend our 19th wedding anniversary there, and it was absolutely amazing! We stayed in a preferred corner room (which was a gracious upgrade) with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL views!! The sunrise view was stunning right from our room-we didn’t even have to go outside to enjoy it! And you feel like you are outside surrounded by all the beach beauty! What was the most enjoyable however, was the assistant front desk manager that checked us in, Shenoya, she was extremely kind, professional, accommodating, and gracious with us the entire stay! Her Customer Service was exceptional as she went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was a memorable one! And it was! We will certainly return to the Sonesta as it has left a mark as one of the best hotel stays we have experienced! Oh! and being next to the Hugh Birch state park was a plus bc I love nature and wasn’t expecting being so close to such magical trails!!!

We liked the overall atmosphere of the hotel, staff, vibe. The room was spacious, beds were comfy. The view was incredible. The pool area was great and we loved the chair service at the beach.

The restaurant was a little disheveled when we went to order food to go to our room. Just plates everywhere, breakfast buffet was still not broken down.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is fantastic. Right across the street from the beach, with several beachfront restaurants and shops next door. It made it super convenient without needing a car to drive around. The rooms were a good size, clean, and mine had a good oceanview. For the price, I felt like it was a good value compared to other hotels nearby. Staff was also friendly throughout my stay. The only minor disappointment was the front desk said beach chairs were available until 5pm. However, around 3pm they came out saying they were packing up early for the day even though it was a beautiful day. The chair attendant didn’t give a reason for this other than “my boss told me to”. Other than that, an excellent stay and would gladly return again, hopefully for longer next time.

We were warmly greeted by Pita at the front desk. She made our stay wonderful from check in to departure. She took care of all our concerns with our room,She also gave us dinner recommendations and hotel amenities. She was pleasant ,polite and professional. We were pleased with Sonesta and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in the area and we will be returning there on our next visit. We were happy to have met such wonderful people starting with Pita.

We had a wonderful stay at Sonesta Fort Lauderdale. After a warm welcome in the lobby from Pita and Kian, we went to our very clean room, which had a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. In the morning, it was lovely to have breakfast in the restaurant. Manager Philippe has put together an excellent team of lovely people (including Kushboo and Lakeata ❤️) who make sure you start your day with a smile. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, where you can count on personal attention.

We stayed here because they had ocean view rooms. It was totally worth it! In addition we made use of the pool, onsite restaurant and complimentary beach chairs at the beach which is directly across the street. Breakfast was a hot buffet with a large variety of fresh, typical breakfast foods. Be aware that there is an additional cost for the valet only parking. Would stay again.
