We had a number of problems that mean we wouldn't go back or recommend. It was very expensive, and the hotel had a huge surplus (£40 for a £4 taxi) this felt like a tourist tax, there was sand in the beds, two of us got sick, we had broken air con, there were stray dogs on the property

This is a stylish boutique hotel with a dedication to excellent and caring service (by Executive Chef Creighton, by Biju and other staff members). The decor is sophisticated, the rooms very comfortable and well-appointed. The Postcard Velha is set on a forested hill - thus, it is very quiet and peaceful and yet not far from the sights of Old Goa (around 800 meters). Meals in the open pavilions were a delight. The atmosphere is unhurried, personal and relaxing.

Amazing concept with an attention to all details, staff always available and extremely kind and efficient. One big highlight is about the kitchen. The Chef and his team are creating fabulous meals, tasty, original, fresh. A BIG BRAVO to them. All together, an unforgettable experience.

Could have more options for the excursions proposed, menu is a bit thin for Goa state which has so much to offer

What’s not to like - the staff are exceptional, the food is good and the property itself is just straight out of a movie! It’s so green and picturesque with this 250-year old banyan tree right at the heart of it and the pristine white estate style architecture just transports you to a world of serenity and calm! Baiju and the whole team at the Velha were outstanding and once you’ve stayed at any of the Postcard hotels, you’ve been spoilt for life :)

You have to give order 30-45 mins before you plan to go for Lunch or dinner or breakfast. Dining table within the premises not adequate to take care of all guests.

Exceptionally attentive staff, particularly the lady who served us at dinner. Loved that it had only a few rooms and was quiet.

Not sure whether it was worth the money for India. Prices of food (and rather too much of it not local which was disappointing) and drink were off the charts high for India, especially when taxes were added. Manager greeted us and told us not to hesitate contacting him directly 24/7 if we needed anything, however responses were received (and often misunderstood) by the staff. Door of our bedroom didn’t close properly (warped) even though it could be locked. Swimming pool could be cleaner and have less shade. Hotel could do with a gym.

The staff is so warm and wonderful! especially, Biju, Saurav and the chef!!! Had the most memorable and homely experience which is so peaceful. The green surrounding is healing. The rooms are beautiful and artistic ... a fatastic peaceful abode!!! The Spa was also amazing. Both the ladies are so skilful :)

The manager was not very aware of the local attractions and the distance. Biju was excellent in guiding me which was very helpful, kind and practical

Tranquil and incredibly relaxing hotel to unwind after some busy travelling in Rajasthan. Lovely swimming pool and the rooms were beautifully appointed.

Location and hotel is beautiful. Rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. The hotel felt safe for a solo traveller.

Inadequate hot water which I reported to the manager. He resolved the issue 20 hours later by offering to move me to another room. I was also informed that the hotel has instant geysers and what I experienced is normal. So from my experience depending on which room you are in you will have about 4 – 8 minutes of hot – warm water.

Everything. The setting, the exceptional team, the room, the facilities, the food. Everything we could have wanted had been considered and was delivered in the most wonderful way.

It was a place where I could relax totally knowing that all my needs would be met. Just extraordinary.

The green gardens full of trees, the calm and quite environnement, the view from the room One of the best properties in Goa. It is nestled in lush nature full of beautifull trees and birds. You can enjoy the calmness of the area, and truly reconnect and rest. Romms are fantastic, vry comfortable, and with huge glass windows that keep you connected to the outdoors with amazing views on the trees and river.

Fabulous relaxing stay at Postcard Velha. Service couldn’t be better. Food to die for. Fresh and delicious meal choices. Quiet, but only 15 minute walk to the old town. Beautifully furnished rooms. A fantastic choice to avoid the heat and bustle.

I believe this is the first property for which im giving a full 10. Everything exceeded expectations, from the comfort of the rooms, to the attentiveness of the staff (special shout out to Valentina and Prashanth) who made us feel so special with just the right amount of privacy. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back :)

This hotel was amazing. Beautiful, charming, luxurious, relaxing and the people were amazing. Drinks and meals (we had breakfast and dinner) were delicious.

Old Goa was not as nice or vibrant as we had hoped. Still happy to have seen it but the hotel is what made the whole experience.

Laid back luxury- lovely room - great staff some nice touches - bought fresh coconuts to drink by the pool. You could dress for dinner or wear shorts and all would be fine . Great place to kick back for a few days

I was looking for a place to use as a base to explore Panaji and Old Goa for 2 days before my return home to the US and the Postcard was an excellent choice. Pradeep the manager of the hotel was always available on Whatsapp and extremely responsive. the location is gorgeous as well, on a verdant hilltop above Goa with a lovely pool.

An amazing experience from Pradeep and his team, we arrived at a terrible time of 5am and he was personally there waiting to take us to our room. We had what we wanted when we wanted it, a truly personalised experience with an instant response by WhatsApp to any request. The food was amazing, the best butter chicken (not on the menu BTW) I've ever eaten and as this place only have 6 rooms it is never busy, you feel you are on holiday in your own home. The place is exceptionally well maintained and the grounds beautiful.

Small thing, it could do with an honesty bar, so you can chose a glass of wine or beer without calling the team. But that's a small thing.

Such an amazing experience and love the concept of check in/check out at any time plus breakfast when you fancy. From the minute you arrive, you are made so welcome by the manager, Pradeep and team. Impeccable service and anything you need or would like organised is a just WhatsApp away. Luxury spacious rooms of which there are just six over two houses. Serene setting with beautiful gardens with pool. It has such a calm and relaxing atmosphere, the perfect place to unwind Delicious Goan food and attentive service within gazebos and it is truly magical in the evening in such a quiet setting. Thank you Pradeep for a such a wonderful relaxing stay.

Stunning property, well maintained, and beautifully decorated. This is what I would like my own house to look like. The rooms were well appointed with snacks, fruits, slippers, robe and all of the toiletries one may need. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were soft. I liked that there were screens on all of the doors and windows to let in the breeze without letting mosquitoes in. No need for AC during the day. The rooms were spotlessly clean, bright, and airy. Everything in the rooms worked properly (I.e. the fan, air con, light switches) which sometimes isn’t the case in India. This property has two houses with 3 rooms in each- 2 up and 1 down. We booked 2 rooms and had the entire upstairs which was convenient and comfortable. The downstairs rooms are not ideal as people will be able to see right into your room and there’s always people walking around. The first house is positioned better than the second, which is what we had. Plenty of balconies to lounge on and to enjoy nature. I was connected with the very polite manager Pradeep throughout my stay on WhatsApp, and he always responded promptly to my questions.

Sadly I have some major complaints about this property. They are charging premium luxury prices and because of that, everything should be operating almost perfectly. Knowing that this hotel would be rather isolated location-wise, I specifically booked this stay because of their “experiences” listed on the website. We booked three of their experiences which I carefully chose from on the Goa Vehla website. The first one was the heritage walking tour which described walking through Goan villages, admiring architecture, and trying some local food and drink. When the tour started, I quickly realized that this was a tour on the history of churches. We stood inside of several churches while the guide told us religious stories. Quite the opposite of what I wanted to see. The church tour isn’t even listed on their website. When we returned to the property and complained to Pradeep, he said that all of the tours for all of the postcard properties are listed on one page. They need to differentiate which tour is given and which location. The E-bike tour we did next was fun and interested. The third tour was the bird watching tour, which I specifically asked Pradeep if it was a private tour and he said yes. Not true- the car ride to the sanctuary was private but the tour was with over a dozen more people including a crying baby. My next major complaint is the quality of service by the staff. It seems like they have never worked in hospitality because they have no idea what to do. They don’t know how to wait on tables. On two occasions, I waited 30 to 40 minutes for my drink. They have to be asked to bring you a menu. They can’t describe menu items. I asked one girl to explain the difference between the two prawn dishes and she said they’re pretty much the same. We ordered both. One was a curried prawn dish with a vegetable side with rice and one was a few pieces of dry fried prawn- a small app. Of course we waited a very long time and we’re disappointed.

It is without doubt lovely place, the staff are nice. Breakfast was good. Tye rest of the food was average but the Veg Thali was nice.

It is remote and isolated for a solo traveler. I booked a room with a river view, you really couldn’t see the river. The balcony with a partial river view was accessible by another room too and surrounded by AC machines, very noisy. Services at the hotel are very expensive, like laundry and taxis. Getting your own Ubers will be c10x cheaper than the hotel service for example. Vegetarian food was ok, not brilliant, overall food was average. Lack of communal space, like a bar was disappointing, too.

The Calm serene green environment and the food is the key for the property. Keep it up.

The hotel is an ideal spot to get away and get much-needed rest and relaxation. The property is beautiful, the manager and staff very helpful and the overall experience simply wonderful. It is great that there are only 6 rooms on the property so even if the hotel is full, there is a lot of privacy and a feeling of calm. The staff was amazing ... helpful, attentive, and always there when we needed them but never intrusive. The room was a good size with great views and the spa service was outstanding as well. A lot of good food and drink options, and we really enjoyed our stay there

I would have liked to have a fridge in the room but it was only a small inconvenience. The staff always got us what we needed and stored things we needed to be stored in a fridge.

Everything. From the cold coffee and the comfiest bed to the wonderful service, we truly had an amazing time here.

There's nothing we didn't like but make sure you get clear directions for the location of the hotel, especially on feast days!

Exceptional. Beautiful property of character. Wonderful grounds, great views. Most of all, the young staff were so polite and attentive.

It is a destination in its self but it is something of a treck to get anywhere.

The staff and their training seriously does not warrant a 5 star property. I generally do not write reviews. But this staff has forced me to write this. I hope the higher management takes this seriously.
