It was too near the main road where ambulances and police went by, under where our room was located.

We booked our rooms in order to take an early morning ferry to France so the location was key and it worked perfectly. The accommodation was what you might expect for a pub with rooms - perfectly adequate with good parking and not far from the town centre.

The windows were a bit dirty and difficult to open for fresh air. Carpets in the stairs and corridors could do with a deep clean or replacement but the room was ok.

Stairs are a bit difficult

breakfast selection varied and quality, daytime menu well balanced, well served and vfm. Staff polite and attentive at all times. Old Style but lovely.

Stairs to bedrooms need a little care if you are less able on your feet - no lift

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, shower and toilet facilities were fine. I wasn't bothered by outside noise. Staff were friendly. Breakfast (full English) was very enjoyable. Location was ideal for the purpose of my trip.

I only used the room and breakfast facilities so can't comment on other aspects.

It was good for the money....if..... it wasn't so ridiculously hot upstairs!.... I know that the weather is not their responsibility, but only a small fan didn't help at all!

The beds were very comfortable and the evening meal good.

The room was airless, so hot and stuffy that we had to get up at 2am to go outside, where it was quite cold, to cool down.. We could not open the windows far enough to get a flow of. The room was also extrenely noisy, as it was situated next to a busy crossroads with lights, and traffic was heard all night often revving up after having to wait at the lights. There were also bright neon lights that came past the inadequate curtains.

Hôtel très bien placé et facile d'accès quand on arrive en bateau. Parking gratuit (ce qui est très rare). Il y a un bar et un resto (attention aux horaires de la cuisine )

Pas très loin de l'embarcadaire des Ferry, pratique d'accès et à se garer, bon choix de repas abordables pour manger. Bref un bon rapport qualité prix.

Die lange war okay. Es waren ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuß zur Promenade. Für eine durchfahrt akzeptabel.

Das WLAN war ausgezeichnet aber es hat sich oft so angefühlt als ob man nur 2 balken hätte, weil das WLAN war einfach weg oder hat nicht funktioniert aber man hatte trotzdem 5 balken. Unser Zimmer war direkt an der Straße und man hörte jedes Auto. Es war leider sehr laut.

It’s located above the pub which was convenient for us. Food was very good as well.

The hotel is shabby and the communal areas including the bar and restaurant were not very clean. Dirty carpets, sticky tables and chairs. Breakfast was not good, burnt toast, runny omelette and our cereal was brought with the hot food. Our room was basic and definitely not recently refurbished as described on the booking site.

Easy to find and a massive room

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating (especially Charlie), thank you. The beds were quite comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee in a good size room.

The whole place is very 'tired' in general. It's an old place, but it needs a good lick of paint and a deep clean - the edges of the carpets were dirty and all the surfaces in the rooms and the pub itself were sticky. Some of the chair covers in the bar were torn and some of the garden furniture was wobbly.

Le monsieur de la veille au soir avec un accent incompréhensible qui me dit que j’ai le temps de boire une bière en terrasse et qui me dit 15 min plus tard que la cuisine a fermé, couché sans manger😤😤de plus évitez la chambre n°9, elle est juste au dessus du groupe froid de la chambre froide et les clients qui rentrent durant la nuit passent devant, du bruit toute la nuit.

This place was absolutely unsafe and disgusting! The child lock on the window was broken and looked to be for some time! Pictured below As you can see from the pictures that it wasn’t clean at all! We paid £135 to stay for one night. It was noisy with thin walls, being able to hear everything in the hallway. Door rattling as if someone was trying to get in everytime the hall door opened and closed.

Free parking, hot shower, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Food was adequate in the evening. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were more than helpful offering us alternatives and extras. Needed to reserve table for night meal but breakfast was empty at 8am. Bed was surprisingly comfy and room was quiet so did sleep well.

Could do with a good clean, the room looked like the edges hadn’t been cleaned or hoovered for a long time. The shower glass door was dirty and didn’t close. The room was warm, couldn’t open the window as we were directly above the kitchen and the smell was coming in, couldn’t leave curtains open as we were inches away from other windows facing us. Bedding and towels were perfect but room was tiny and felt claustrophobic. Be try little storage space for clothing and toiletries. No towel rail in bathroom. Tables in restaurant were sticky.

La chambre familiale était grande et globalement confortable, et présentait l'avantage d'être juste au dessus du pub ce qui était très agréable que ce soit pour le petit-déjeuner ou pour prendre un dernier verre une fois les enfants couchés. De plus nous avons pu nous garer facilement sur le parking et nous promener autour à pieds.

Les rideaux ne couvrent pas complètement la lumière de la rue, et les fenêtres sont un peu vieilles, on entend un peu le bruit extérieur.

Accommodation was dated and needs a refurb, wasn’t particularly clean, toilet bowl was stained, flooring was old and dirty, had cheaper accommodation and a lot cleaner and more modern, expensive for what you get and food prices are extortionate.

Bathroom fan stayed on for approx 20 mins after switching off light. No hot water for morning shower. Booked and paid for a breakfast however no breakfast times showed on website and I had to leave before staff arrived in the morning.

Had parking and was walkable from city centre. When I advised the staff that I could not stay there as the room smelt so bad, he apologised and tried to refund me. He said that as I had booked via Booking.com, he could not complete the refund and advised that I contact Booking.com, and let them know that the Shah of Persia have agreed to a full refund.

The room was dark, dingy, and smelt like an dirty ashtray. Carpets looked filthy and I did not want to take my footwear off. The room looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com We dreaded having to spend any time in the room.

Das Zimmer war für uns gut und zweckmässig. Das Doppelbett war bequem, die zwei Zusatzbetten für die Kinder etwas weniger, aber ok. Das Personal war äusserst freundlich und wir fühlten uns willkommen und ein bisschen dort Zuhause. Grosszügiges und leckeres Frühstück. Bushaltestelle gleich beim Inn.

Es war ziemlich laut, was ja aber bei einem Inn zu erwarten ist und nicht weiter gestört hat. Da das Wetter schön bis heiss war, war es schwierig zu lüften, da die Fenster Kindersicherungen hatten. Es war in der Nacht also relativ heiss im Raum.

Location was what we needed.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and beer at the pub below the rooms was better than expected given that it is a relatively inexpensive chain pub. The room however was extremely tired and in desperate need of redecoration and modernisation. Completely dilapidated and very disappointing - much worse than other Marston I have stayed in. Very overpriced at £100 room only…

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal und gutes Essen. Das Fühstück ist a la carte. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig. Parken ist problemlos und kostenfrei.

This is a pub with rooms upstairs. Can’t fault the very friendly, helpful staff, the location or room rate per night. The pub users are a friendly bunch as well. As everywhere these days the bar prices are high. Evening meal pub grub is better than most and reasonably priced with good service. Full breakfast at £10.75 a bit high if there are 2 of you but freshly cooked to order. Continental option at £8.75. The premises is a bit tired. Beds comfortable but the TV didn’t work. Ample free parking. Overall would recommend if you are visiting Poole or stopping over as we did to and from Cornwall.

Kamer was erg gehorig, zowel de buren als ook trap-lopers waren erg goed horen (kamer naast de trap). Ook het ontbijt (helaas geen buffet) was erg karig.

Great location within easy access into town, quiet and cosy. Very friendly, attentive staff, lovely atmosphere. We slept really well on comfortable beds, the rooms are a good size and breakfast was great. Ideal place to stay when visiting Poole!

Not a problem for us but no lift, so not ideal for guests who might struggle to carry cases upstairs - although I dare say staff would be willing to help, they were very accommodating.
