La chambre trop exiguë

The location of the hotel is excellent, and easy to reach from the airport via the metro, with no change required. The room was also bigger than expected for a standard double room, which was a great surprise.

The ‘double bed’ was two twin beds pushed together, each with separate bedding.

Situación

This was our first time to Porto and we couldn't have got a better location as right in the middle of a shopping street near the Majestic Cafe and a short walk to the train station, which was great for the airport. Beautiful old hotel full of character. We stayed a week for B&B which was to our liking but maybe not a great selection for everyone. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Spacious room and spotless, daily room service . Very comfortable bed but have to say pillows like rocks! Would say not a great wifi service in the bedrooms. The only other criticism of the room was squeaky floor boards, hard not to make a noise going to the bathroom in the middle of the night! Would not hesitate to stay there again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Posizione perfetta, impossibile chiedere di meglio. In pieno centro in via Santa Catarina, a piedi ovunque, stazione São Bento, Ribeira e Torre dos Clérigos a pochi minuti. L'hotel è storico, mantiene un fascino d'altri tempi ma con camere eleganti, pulitissime e silenziose. Staff eccezionale, gentilissimo e sempre disponibile, dalla reception al ristorante. Colazione abbondante con prodotti locali di qualità e la terrazza all'ultimo piano è un plus bellissimo per un drink al tramonto. Per 4 notti ci siamo sentiti a casa.

En la habitación familiar además de sofá cama tiene otro sofá disponible. Muy amplia y cómoda con compartimento para maletas. Excelente limpieza.

Almohadas demasiado grandes y altas. Al haber 4 por cama podrían ser diferentes para que se pueda elegir.

We’ve come to Port on our honeymoon and it’s amazing. This hotel is fantastic and the staff are incredible. We left our bags before check in and when we got back to check in they had already sent them up for us. They helped us with restaurant reservations and when we had to come back to follow up something with another staff member they had already arranged it. Great communication and a beautiful hotel. The bar is beautiful and the bartender Mike is excellent. We feel like we’ve had our own masterclass with him, teaching us about mixology and the local drinks and history. So much knowledge and very interesting. We are still here and planning our next visit!

Se hacían un lío con las toallas y camas, en nuestro caso que íbamos con niños pequeños, siempre faltaban toallas, el primer día también las sábanas.

Nada, ya que no nos alojamos en este hotel aunque estaba pagado con anterioridad. Nos trasladaron a otro hotel, alegando que se había estropeado el aire acondicionado asegurabdonos que noa devolverían el dinero. A los dos días negaron su compromiso de devolución y nos dijeron que la razón del cambio era over booking. El hotel sustituto cumplió a la perfección, pero la decisión del cambio fué impuesta sin mas. De ahí mi valoración negativa a todo. Uds. Debwn saber que estas practicas lesionan su imagen y reputación. Soy un cliente que usa mucho booking.

Ottima posizione, albergo molto elegante e in stile primi del novecento. Buona colazione, con ampia varietà. Staff molto gentile.

Stanza oggettivamente un po' piccola, la prima notte sul.soppalco dove è presente il letto faceva molto caldo. Segnalato il problema, hanno risolto e ci hanno lasciato un ventilatore per sicurezza.

Desayuno excelente. Muy buena situación: céntrico, en una calle de todo comercios por lo que las noches tranquilos. El personal de recepción muy amable, con buenas recomendaciones.

Almohadas mejorables. Era una habitación para 4 personas, y 2 de las almohadas muy duras.

Que no tenía piscina, pero eso ya lo sabía. 😜

Posizione centrale, spazi comuni molto curati in stile retro, colazione ricca. L'hotel è in una strada pedonale con pilotis che inibiscono l'accesso in auto. Comunicando la targa, dalla reception abbassano i pilotis consentendo di raggiungere in auto l' ingresso all'hotel per scaricare i bagagli.L'hotel ha un parcheggio convenzionato (12 euro/notte) poco distante.

La stanza su due livelli al piano terreno risulta molto piccola se utilizzata in 4. Una volta aperto il divano letto purtroppo manca letteralmente il passaggio e lo spazio vitale e la stanza diventa uno spazio esclusivamente per dormire. Il bagno è decisamente piccolo e datato, manca il miscelatore, è in linea con lo stile retro dell hotel però risulta scomodo. Vista su edificio in rovina in chiostrina chiusa.

El punto es excelente y que es súper tranquilo. Y las zonas comunes son muy amplias y la decoración muy bonita .

Lo peor las dos alturas de la habitación por qué es muy pequeño y resulta incómodo El desayuno el café no era agradable no tenían mermeladas. El agua debería ser embotellada.

What a wonderful and hospitable hotel this is. The doorman or bell-boy/man is particularly charming and helpful and the ladies on reception are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a hidden gem and you could easily walk past it. Once beyond the rotating door the cooking air-conditioning and general calmness is very welcome after the hustle and bustle of the busy street outside. The rooms are very comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent too. I’ll return if I ever go back to Porto.

La ubicación

Las almohadas son dos y las dos durísimas,por lo menos una tendrían que poner más baja y más blanda. La grifería de la ducha es muy bonita y pega mucho con el estilo del hotel pero costaba mucho poner la temperatura adecuada del agua o te quemas o te hielas,el mono mando no es tan bonito pero es un gran adelanto.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, céntrico. Las personas son geniales, la habitación super agradables, cómodas, amplias, todo es un espacio con historia.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Fußgängerzone mit Einkaufsstraße. Dennoch war es im Hotel angenehm ruhig. Wir konnten die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuss erreichen.

Habría que renovar la ropa de cama que aún estando muy limpia tenia manchas amarilla por el uso de lejia y lavados. y el desayuno del hotel aunque de buenisima calidad tenía menos variedad que otros hoteles de su categoría.

La localisation de l’hôtel est parfaite. L’établissement est très beau, nous avons bénéficié d’une chambre très bien agencée et fonctionnelle. Le personnel est toujours disponible, un grand merci à Antonio qui a été un très bon conseiller (et en français) pour notre séjour. Les salles de petit-déjeuner et les salles de détente sont particulièrement agréables dans un style anglais indémodable.

Dommage que les oreillers soient aussi gros (nous avons dû échanger avec ceux de décorations pour pouvoir être en position allongée et dormir confortablement). Seul petit détail négatif du séjour.

Very well located

While the old building is very cute, soundproofing is a major issue. We heard every step from the guest upstairs, which heavily impacted our sleep. The breakfast was also underwhelming and overly simple for what we expected.

Location is fantastic: on a pedestrian street close to restaurants, major monuments and interesting parts of the city. It is a historic, charming property. The rooms are renovated and they are very comfortable. We stayed in a triple room and it was spacious. The bathroom was updated and clean. It looks like a tiny hotel from the outside but it is actually bigger than it looks. The breakfast was tasty and varied. I highly recommend this hotel.

If you are driving, better drive directly to nearby Parque Central, Rua da Alegria 35, with which they have a discount. But if you have heavy luggage that you want to drop first, then call the hotel to give them your car license plate number, so that they enter it in the system which will allow you to access their pedestrian street. Great hotel, classy and cozy common areas, modern and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, we loved it. Great location, you can visit the whole old town just walking.

J'avais oublié une veste dans l'armoire de la chambre et je ne m'en suis rendue compte que 3 jours plus tard ! J'ai contacté la réception qui l'a mise de côté et j'ai pu la récupérer en repassant par Porto avant mon départ.

Tolle Lage, schöne Einrichtung, Zimmerservice sehr gut und alles sehr sauber!

Leider wenig Auswahl beim Frühstück, keine Information bekommen wo sich welche Bereiche im Hotel befinden (Gym, Dachterrasse) musste ich selber einige Zeit suchen. Leider wurde an unserem letzten Tag das Wasser für einige Stunden abgestellt. Lose Schublade im Schrank fiel auf meinen Fuß beim Aufmachen.

The hotel is just excellent, and the staff are super friendly and professional. It is conveniently located at the main shopping streets and it turns quieter once the shops are closed in the evening. This hotel is a classic and historic hotel, well maintained with impressive interior decorations. Breakfast buffet was great too.

We were checking out at 12 and were staying in our room resting and then at 11 am there were no water, so after getting ready we could not even wash our hands. It was inconvenient and personal did not let us know that there will be no water at that time

Hotel elegante e centralissimo a pochi passi dalla stazione della metro Bolhao. Per chi arriva con l'aereo si prende la linea che parte dall'aereoporto e passa proprio per Bolhao. La camera standard molto comoda, bagno comodo con bidet. In camera si trova anche la macchina per il caffè Nespresso con le capsule offerte come kit di benvenuto. Colazione abbondante salata e dolce che si svolge in uno splendido salone. Sembra proprio di fare un viaggio nel tempo all'inizio del' 900.

Our first room was very spacious while the second one was very small, but bathroom equipment was new and good. Breakfast was very good, all dishes were tasty and coffee was good. The location could not be more central. Conditioner was effective and simply operated.

We were urged to switch rooms because of water problem in the room above. In our room bath equipment was old, even shower cabin was not exactly cabin but made from curtain.

Had a huge family room with stairs to the double bed separating children from adults. Bar was great with lovely staff and drinks. Front desk and concierge staff rely friendly and helpful.

Breakfast for a gluten and dairy allergen (both for same person) wasn't great. Staff were unsure what was safe to eat. Standard room was small and cramped. Uber taxis cannot pull up to front of hotel which can be tricky for check out/check in with lots of luggage in tow

This was my second stay at the Grande Hotel. I liked it so much three years ago that when I knew I was coming back to Porto, I booked it again. I had a friend with me this time who also loved it. Great staff! Great location, and so many nice spaces within the hotel besides our comfortable room to relax in. And good price!

The buffet was very good, but never changed in the ten days we were there, anything else, e.g. fried or boiled, as opposed to the scrambled in the buffet was a charged extra. Ringing the odd change or at least providing some more choice, not least in the egg department would be an improvement.

It is curious, the staff were great, could not be more obliging, but there were things I found odd, if not irritating. The bar, despite the number of people in the hotel and having published hours, could never be relied upon to be open and closed unexpectedly, on one occasion after we had bought only one round of drinks. They have a great asset in a roof terrace, but no service as such, with the result the few guests that use it do so on a do it yourself, self catering arrangement. The hotel could do more to promote both the bar with reliable hours and perhaps having a bar upstairs, even on more limited hours. The suite had no draw space for storage and only eight hangers (more were provided immediately on request) as if they really didn't expect guests to unpack!

Really beautiful lobby and the location was nice along a busy pedestrian street. Our room was on the smaller side, and while mostly lovely, there were some cobwebs and chipping paint in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was disappointing that none of the in room amenities like the coffee were complementary. Our last day in the hotel, there was a water problem and for several hours there was no water or toilets.

Das Interieur ist sehr schön, man spürt in dem Haus die Zeit in der es eröffnet wurde. Überall sieht man stumme Zeitzeugnisse an den Wänden, Möbeln und der Dekoration. Es liegt zentral mitten in der Altstadt.

Sehr sauberes Hotel mit toller Lage direkt in einer Einkaufsstraße (Fußgängerzone, Taxis dürfen jedoch zufahren). Und trotzdem war es in der Nacht sehr ruhig. Man erreicht alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Altstadt in 10 - 15 Minuten zu Fuß. U-Bahn Station in unmittelbarer Nähe. Mitarbeiter in der Rezeption und in der Bar äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Zimmer war sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet, allerdings war das Schlafzimmer im oberen Stock, was wir persönlich etwas unpraktisch fanden und bei der Buchung über Booking gab es auch keinen Hinweis, dass es sich um ein Maissonettezimmer handelt. Die Mitarbeiter beim Frühstück scheinen zum Teil etwas unmotiviert.

Aparte de todas sus excelencias, la ubicación en pleno centro es inmejorable.

A szálloda a sétáló utca közepén található, mégis csöndes. Imádtuk a patinás étkezőt, bárt, tereket. Igényes, mindennel felszerelt! Mi nagyon jól éreztük magunkat!!

Die Einrichtungen des Hotels, sowie das Zimmer und der Service (Rezeption, Bar, Kofferservice) waren sehr gut.

Das Frühstück ist sehr übersichtlich und entspricht nicht den Standards, die wir aus Lissabon und anderen portugiesischen Hotels kennen. 2 Marmeladen relativ geschmacklos, eine Sorte Käse und 2 Sorten Wurst. Das a la carte Essen am Abend hat uns nicht so begeistert. Uns wurden vier Scheiben Brot mit einem Klecks gesalzene Butter zum Preis von 7,- € pro Person berechnet. Von einer Tischreservierung würden wir abraten.
