The location and room very good. We were delighted with the whole experience was restful and easy.
It was all good. Thanks.
Excellent
Nothing
Location, style, staff, breakfast, comfort. I hate modern hotels and this was like an Agatha Christie adventure. Staff were faultless, polite and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Room was a bit small for the price and very limited toiletries which were not replenished but I didn’t care as the rest of the hotel was excellent.
The lift. I was on the third floor and the lift was the old style barrier gates which I will never go into. Room was slightly small for the price and the toiletries were sparse and not replace for the second day. TV was poor and needs modernization but I was out most of the days so it was irrelevant. Limited parking outside which needed care to avoid car damage but again just be careful.
Tasty well prepared mealsf
Faster service
Hôtel bien tenu et très bien placé, face a la mer
Une place dans un parking privé aurait été un plus.
Vegetarian breakfast very good. Location excellent and room with seaview lovely Staff all very welcoming and friendly and efficient
Le professionnalisme du personnel et leur disponibilité ..;
Avoir oublier de préciser que nous aurions voulu une chambre vue mer
The staff - bent over backwards to accommodate me.
If I had wanted breakfast - I didn’t - I think £20 is excessive for breakfast but as I didn’t experience it I can’t comment about food quality.
Lovely and a nice location

Restaurant was fantastic and the bay window in the room had amazing views
Fab location, great view, comfortable room, really helpful woman on reception couldn’t have been nicer.
Arrived really tired after a long hot journey, no one on reception then the man tried to sell me the expensive breakfast
The location was amazing. Gwyn on reception was great, really friendly and helpful.
At breakfast, the staff could be a little more friendly.
Bed was comfy, room very spacious, seafront hotel
Very comfortable and clean

Fantastic hotel, overlooking the sea and viewing dolphins. Rooms clean and comfortable Staff helpful and courteous Management do everything to make the stay perfect Lasting memory of the lift
l'ambiance ,le professionnalisme de l'equipe !
Rien de particulier chambre standard bien équipée
Brilliant location executive suite!!! Wake up and see the sea every morning. View beach attractions and the castles. Staff are courteous and attentive but not in your face. Private parking too. Meals delicious with plenty of choice. Breakfast menu to suite a king/queen.
Lovely breakfast, very accommodating and a perfect location

Fantastic view, specious superior room, mattress needs to be a lot firmer.A fridge in the room would have been useful
Great hotel, the best in criccieth. Beautiful views of the sea. The hotel staff are very helpful and nothing is too much for them with any help you may need. I am disabled and the lift helps. The room is very comfortable, clean. I have visited the hotel many times with my mother. Highly recommend the hotel. The restaurant food is very good. The price of the hotel is very reasonable and great value. I can not recommend the hotel highly enough.
sleeping to the sound of the sea
the restaurant food was good, but would have liked it to be great
Great location, clean well kept hotel and rooms, great views of the sea from the spacious lobby and lovely decor and furnishings all round. Helpful and friendly staff, room is serviced well and sleep was comfortable
Car parking, food, everything to make a pleasant break
Wonderful Hotel excellent friendly staff couldn't fault the cleanliness, rooms well furbished , Excellent breakfast and dinner in the Tonnau Great position overlooking the beach It was wonderful to hear the staff speaking Welsh keeping the language alive . Perhaps the only fault we could find there was no USB charging sockets for your smart items We can't fault the overall experience would stay in again in a heartbeat

We spent three nights in Criccieth at The Caerwylan and enjoyed a superb stay it was our sixth stay which, in itself, tells you how much we like the place. A great hotel, with a super restaurant (Tonnau), and truly excellent staff who make guests feel really welcome. We will return and would recommend The Caerwylan unreservedly.
Really enjoyed the relaxing, quiet break at the lovely, friendly hotel. Great staff. Very clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the beach and the high street. Great breakfasts and choice. Lovely views from the wide lounge windows. We love coming here. Thank you x TV reception was iffy but we managed.
Superb location overlooking a beautiful beach with even a castle on view. The hotel is relaxing and luxurious. Our room was very comfortable and offered stunning views from the chairs in the bay window. Everything we needed was provided and offered good value. The hotel and restaurant were spotless and the staff made sure that everything remained clean and tidy. The hotel was calm and peaceful which helped us to have a truly relaxing stay. The staff were very polite and professional and were only too pleased to help with anything we needed.
Have just returned from a lovely weekend with friends. The hotel team were so welcoming and helpful, breakfast and dinner were excellent and the location is stunning 😍 would highly recommend a stay in this gem of a hotel

Das Personal war äusserdt freundlich. Dias Hotel liegt sehr nahe am Meer.
Arrived at 7pm, staff were friendly and so helpful, arranged parking and gave directions. Room was lovely, comfortable, and really clean. we had a lovely night sat outside overlooking the beach and castle, we will be going back soon
Position, nice situation. Comfortable and recently refurbished by looks of it
Parking was restricted
Fantastisk beliggenhed og havudsigt God have og god restaurant
Husk at reservere P-plads ved booking idet det er svært at parkere i nærheden af hotellet
Lovely room with spectacular view over sea and castle. Great breakfast, very pleasant bar and garden, plus very nice and helpful staff. Hotel has a car park, which is a plus and you can off load and load right by the hotel. Loved the old lift, even when other guests left the doors open!! No complaints, but would suggest you lose the bath and put in a walk in shower.
My wife and I first came to the Caerwylan around 15 years ago, and have returned almost every year. It was good then - the proprietors changed, and it got even better. Location - overlooking the bay. With the windows open, we can hear the waves falling on the sand day and night. We usually visit Anglesey, Snowdon and Aberdaron. Sometimes other places of interest - Port Merion, Porthmadog, various steam railways, et al. Staff. Professional and friendly. This year was exceptional, when my wife, who has mobility issues, got stuck in the bath. Help! She covered herself in towels, and a member of staff came and lifted her out. Just like that! Comfort. Excellent, always, and in spacious, well appointed rooms. Restaurant. Excellent menu. Excellent food. One of our favourite hotels.
A lovely hotel facing the beach and sea, beautiful views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a late booking on the day because another hotel I booked originally was not very nice. The lady on reception was so helpful and booked me a lovely single room, ensuite with breakfast for a great price. The hotel was clean and airy lovely outside seating area and I really enjoyed my stay.
A lovely hotel in a superb location on the seafront. Friendly staff with a great lounge area, bar and garden all overlooking the beach. The restaurant for both breakfast evening meal was superb, highly recommend.
Due to the heatwave the rooms were very hot, please take your own fan as they are not supplied.
Modern clean and comfortable
Nothing
Its location, the friendly staff, the fact it had a lift. Service was good and the breakfast fresh and tasty.
Lovely my hotel with top quality staff, who deliver excellent customer service. I was generally disappointed with the hotel room we were allocated “superior room” as the lack of a safe, fridge and the general decor were lacking. I would thoroughly recommend Paying for parking allocation, as parking is limited! Overall we enjoyed our stay & feel if the room was updated I would have rated this higher.
Location, cleanliness, friendly staff excellent breakfast

Excellent breakfast lots of choice. We stayed during the heatwave so without air conditioning it was rather uncomfortable
Air conditioning
Clean and comfortable. Excellent friendly staff.
Lack of onside parking
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We have stayed there previously but the makeover has added to the experience. The staff were extremely helpful, and they took customer care to another level. We stayed two nights in a superior room, and two nights in an executive room. Both were sea facing. The views were to die for. My only constructive criticism would be lack of tissue box,and shortage of toiletries. We shall return.Diolch yn fawr.
We had a super sea view room - no 18. It was spotless clean and had a beautiful view of Criccieth bay. It was great to see the update as I last stayed here in the 1950/60s !! The hotel would benefit from a better entrance. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights.
The location is superb. I love going swimming and you can just do it any time you want and go back to your room for a shower. The view . The parking
There was a weird plastic smell like an old fashioned plastic tablecloth and it was hot in the room
This is an absolutely wonderful hotel in a stunning location. The rooms are beautifully furnished and everything is immaculate. This was our second visit and we are already planning a third.
We really enjoyed our stay. We had a sea view room which was very comfortable with a glorious view. As always the staff were wonderful and the food very good especially the breakfasts. I cannot fault the Caerwylan, everything about this hotel is quality.
Good breakfast lovely location
Parking was a bit awkward
Superb location with great views. Hotel fully refurbished. Very helpful reception staff. Only thing missing in room was a box of facial tissues. Expensive for a full sea view but well worth it.
Executive suite view is stunning. Very comfortable rooms; plentiful hot water but we found the showers slightly too powerful. Extremely friendly, welcoming staff both in reception, housekeeping and restaurant. Just 2 suggestions: - more sunshades in garden (we were there in a heatwave - yes, in Wales!) - a reminder to guests to close the quaint lift doors after use. I had to chase it up/down floors several times for my sister with mobility issues. Had a wonderful , relaxing stay in a charming hotel in a beautiful location. Thnk you to all the team.
Location, service, quiet
Very hot
very happy with breakfast, would assume all produce were locally sourced, all very tasty. Bonus that it was cooked to each individual person. Our only negative would be, we stayed while the weather was extreme heat but you had no air-con in rooms , we were on the top floor so a little uncomfortable + not enough umbrellas in the garden area for us to enjoy a drink.
Enjoyable stay, hotel needs to rethink about air-con.
Very comfortable stay. Despite the heat wave. Beautifully clean and well appointed . Staff all very welcoming and friendly. Look forward to visiting again.
Food was very good. Staff were very nice and friendly
Room was small, expensive and there was no fan available in exceptionally hot weather. Room was very uncomfortable to sleep in
Wonderful stay, stunning views. Clean peaceful and tidy with lovely decor particularly downstairs
The location of the hotel is superb for its views which range from the mountains, across Cardigan Bay and to the castle. The beach is just across the road from the hotel. The atmosphere was mostly very relaxing and it was lovely to hear the waves coming onto the shore. Our room was large with a large bay window, it had all that we needed. I was very impressed with the shower which had plenty of hot water and had a powerful force. All areas of the hotel were very clean and there are plenty of areas to sit in the various lounges. There is an outside seating area where we could sit during fine weather. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional, in fact they were superb. The meals were excellent for both breakfast and dinner with the waiting time for our meals kept to a minimum. There is a secure parking area at the back of the hotel for which there is a daily charge of £5. I do not know if it made a difference that we stayed at the weekend but locals are allowed to use the bar and although they sat in the gardens they were very loud and drunk, it could have been worse if they had stayed in the bar area which was below our room. We had to shut our windows because of their drunken loudness. Unfortunately on one occasion we were kept awake until 2.30 am by drunken guests of the hotel who were mixing with the locals on the green opposite the hotel and when they returned to the hotel they mistakenly tried to enter our room ! Other guests were disturbed as well. There is no night porter and on enquiring who I should telephone if such an occurrence happened again I was told to telephone the hotels number.
This was my third stay in this beautiful hotel. The welcome,, courtesy and care is outstanding. The standard of housekeeping is very high. Towels, bedlinen and the bed, all superb, I highly recommend this hotel and congratulate management. Many thanks.
The breakfast was excellent with lots of different choices. The girls serving were excellent and well trained to be polite, welcoming and unobtrusive. Bed was very comfortable. Views spectacular. Hotel was quiet and restful. Evening meal also excellent.
If I'm being picky! Sheets had strong smelling detergent which I didn't like. Decor in bedrooms a bit old fashioned possibly.
The location of the hotel could not of better...waking up to the sight of the ocean and the night time view of Criccieth Castle.. floodlight... lovely... Staff are very friendly and welcoming.. Absolute Respect... Dinner and breakfast was super quality served in a tranquil setting.... Highly recommended.. Gordon.. room 24
No complaints
Ontbijt was prima. Veel opties. Personeel was vriendelijk maar wat geresereerd en soms wat onhandig. Overall best ok.
Kamers klein, bed klein en oncomfortabel.
Caerwylan Hotel Criccieth in a super location with stunning views of the castle and the ocean.. Arranged a couple of nights stay. Room 24 on the second floor was allocated no complaints brilliant views .. oh apart from the toilet facilities.. Senior and being partial disabled with pending knee surgery. Getting off the toilet was an absolute nightmare with no grab rails..The lift was small but fine.. allegedly it holds four people.. Not a chance! Sincere thanks to Elan on reception.. Welcoming and friendly staff in the restaurant Neah & Cali deserves a mention.. Respect.. Dinner and breakfast very nice... So! The main question would we recommend or return.. The answer is yeah... just sort some grab rails in the toilet... (Gordon)
We had another lovely and enjoyable stay at the Caerwylan Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and had wonderful views of the bay. We had a very good breakfast every day, with lots of choice and well-cooked hot options. The two evening meals we had in the restaurant were delicious. All of the staff were professional, friendly and unfailingly helpful. We will be back!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious with lots of good choice.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Spotlessly clean , fabulous breakfast and excellent, friendly, helpful staff.
A lovely four star family run hotel overlooking the sea. Lovely food, great service and friendly helpful staff. We couldn’t fault anything
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious wuth lots of choice.
Nothing we didn't like.

Great location. Friendly staff and nice clean room. Breakfast was very nice
Perfect location overlooking the beach. Friendly staff and nice clean room.
Lovely hotel in all respects Very comfortable room with superb view over the beach and castle First class restaurant for breakfast and evening dinner. Well stocked bar for pre dinner drinks, great views across the bay All staff very polite and efficient Will definitely return, hopefully sooner rather than later!
The hotel is ideally situated for North Wales attractions. It has been updated. It is clean and well maintained.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The room was in good order and comfortable. The shower over the bath wasn't great - sticky controls which weren't user friendly. My main gripe was that there was no bottled water supplied in the room - I stay in many hotels and this is a first. I was told that it was only for Executive guests! I guess plebs just have to go thirsty in the night. I paid £168 a night (which was overpriced but it was half term).
A great 2 night stay at The Caerwylan Hotel. A lovely room with spectacular views over the bay and of the castle. Thoughtful additions to the room, great, comfortable bed & very important, a powerful shower! Extremely attentive staff, where nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return in the future.
The Caerwylan is simply the most beautiful place, ran by a very lovely lady. The hotel itself is in such a perfect location overlooking the sea. Our room (35) overlooked the sea itself. As you can imagine views are breathtaking. And the bed/mattress is like sleeping on a cloud (heaven) The hotel is furnished to a high standard, and the decor is tastefully modern. Every corner of the hotel is immaculately clean. The food is of a very high quality even locals come to enjoy the food it’s that good. a big shout out the the chef for creating a stunning menu All the staff are lovely, kind and helpful (nothing is too much trouble for them) However In particular I would like to acknowledge the following . Laura (manager) who was incredibly helpful and a very hard working lady who you can clearly see has so much pride for her role. . Becca (waitress) who a hard working lady, and very polite . Elan (reception) extremely hard-working polite lady who goes out of her way to make your stay enjoyable Finally Frances (the owner) who is such a lovely kind lady, who has created nothing short of diamond hotel. What with her kind bubbly, friendly personality she literally stops at nothing to make you feel welcomed. A massive thank you too you all ❤️ It is safe to we will 100% be back (We arrived as guests and we leave as friends) ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful hotel in a lovely seaside location. Stayed in an amazing seaview /castle view room. Very clean & tastefully decorated. We loved the Tonnau restaurant for meals both nights & the breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff were excellent, just so friendly & helpful. Gave us great tips about what to see in the location. Loved every second & cannot wait to return to the Caerwylan Hotel in Criccieth.

Lovely location. Evening meal excellent. Staff nice. Decent internet. Quiet and peaceful. Clean too.
Room was too hot but not hotel's fault.drinks a bit dear. Glad it was on company expenses
Both Breakfast and Dinner were excellent.
We enjoyed a 3 night stay in this lovely hotel where all staff treated us very well and went out of way to help. The hotel is in a prime position overlooking sea and castle and our room which was nice had a full sea view from top floor. We would return again.
Good location, very good staff and service
