Laundry machines didn't take quarters, only loonies. Didn't see where that was stated.

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026I like the location by rainy lake and the contactless check in process was very convenient and easy! The harbourage cafe across the street had delicious breakfast and a nice walking path along the lake.
The A/c wasn’t working properly. It was about 85 degrees in our room all evening & night. We sweat all night and didn’t get much sleep from the suite above us stomping around & partying until 1am. There were also dozens of ants all through the kitchen in our suite that we had to kill. Wasn’t the best stay but it was tolerable for only one night.

Across from the lake for a liesurely walk and it's convenient to cross the border during off hours to avoid the morning rush. Interestingly, the office is automted, not manned. You enter a code they text you to retrieve your keys from a locker.
Refrigerator was quite small and the toilet was small and low to the ground.

I would stay here again. The motel was very clean, and the staff were very friendly. Plus, great experience for being my first time in Canada.

A bit noisy. The trains seemed to be blowing their horns all night. The A/C was too loud and people upstairs could be heard when moving about. Coffee machine didn’t work.

The power was out in our room when we arrived, but staff were easy to contact and they turned it back on quickly. Beds were comfortable and it was a great location. We would love to stay here again and come back in the summer.

We found the game on our phone but was impossible to mirror to the TV. Other than that it met our needs perfectly. We will definitely book again. Great place we will just be more prepared for the TV thing next time. But definitely worth the stay!!

Initially not the room I requested (two beds). Staff was helpful and found appropriate accommodation. First room was as also in need of plumbing maintenance for slow drain. Didn’t have a convenient layout. Towels were not discovered when I washed my hands upon arrival, until I closed thx washroom door and discovered them. No tub, just a flimsy shower stall. Bed was small and looked to have a dip in the middle. Second room was much better appointed, but I had a rough sleep due to a buzzing sound beneath my head on the pillow. I believe it was coming from the fridge and travelling up the bed frame. Either the fridge in our room, or more likely from next door if the fridge was against the same wall as my bed. The rooms are not as soundproof as one would like.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Room was very spacious and clean. Great view of the water and close to the centre of town. Beds were extremely comfortable. Lots of parking. Automated check-in was a unique system that worked great if you followed the emailed instructions.
Check-in lobby was very clean but a bit stark and very impersonal. All interactions were by email or phone so if you didn’t understand English or do like automation there was not anyone around to talk with.

Reviewed Nov 6, 2025We were on a road trip from Vancouver to Quebec. Small standard motel near the Trans Canada Highway 11/17. Seems to be a very nice hotel, at least according to the photos on Booking.
There are several motels in Fort Frances. I specifically chose this motel because the photos on Booking showed beautiful, renovated rooms. The room I was given was old and hadn't been renovated, and the carpet smelled awful. I contacted the owner via Booking to report this problem—no response. NEVER AGAIN.

The carpet was filthy. The bed squeaked and made so much noise. No outlet plug in the bathroom so definitely hard to get ready. There were someone’s nail clipping on the shelf above the sink in the bathroom. Definitely not ours. The view was amazing though.
