Quality Inn Fort Frances

Room service left my door open for anyone to enter my room. They also never made my bed the entire time I was there. Guest services also did nothing when I told them my door had been left open.

The beds were very comfortable. Also the sound proofing between rooms was really nice (at least, the fact that it felt private and separate). It was easy to check in, and to communicate with staff. Breakfast was good.

We stayed for more than one night, but our rooms were not really cleaned up. And the location was a bit far from downtown. And there was a strong smell of cigarettes in the area we stayed in. Breakfast needs more gluten-free and fresh fruit options. Other than that, all good.

Under construction! Inconvenient entrance to rooms. Breakfast area poorly organized. Causes Congestion One of our party lost his iron ring (stainless steel), a professional Engineering ring awarded (in 1969) when one achieves their Engineering degree in Canada. The other person left behind a small case containing cables for connecting electronic devices ( eg. For charging) and memory sticks ( data important to individual). The iron ring loss was reported to hotel management and hoping to have information regarding its discovery. The case which is grey in colour and contains a zipper for closure has been recently been discovered left behind and attempt to reach management at hotel to report the loss. Hopefully, success in reaching them and staff have turned in. Disappointed the case has been found and turned in and with an attempted to reach out to us hasn’t happed!

Location and cost. Has a nice breakfast.

No Restaurant for the last 5 years. Has had construction that never seems to be finished. I booked 2 rooms that was supposed to have 2 double beds but only had single beds. We had to get two more rooms at additional cost. Hard to understand the help.

The cost was about $40 more when I checked in than when I booked it and they still wouldn't honor the difference even when I had proof of the price. Disappointed. Won't stay again unless I pay upfront so they don't over charge again.

The room was quiet, everything was well kept, and the staff made me feel welcome. It was a comfortable stay and I’d definitely come back.

I liked how clean and comfortable the hotel was. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the check in process was quick and easy.

It was in a great location, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurants/shopping were close by. Breakfast was good too!

The rooms were comfortable but very dark. Also the fan in the bathroom was very very loud and did not work :(

Room floor was dirty. Ceiling dry wall tape hanging down from previous damage? Soap dispenser and towel racks falling off the wall. Old furniture that looks very used.

The breakfast was exceptional – the best we had during a two-week road trip at seven hotels – and the breakfast host went above and beyond, showing exceptional attentiveness to his guests and great pride in his work. The breakfast room itself was elegantly furnished – more like a dining room than the typical hotel's breakfast space. Our guest room was comfortable and clean. The exercise room was likewise well equipped and fresh, and, while we didn't use the pool, it was spacious. And the stuffed moose in the lobby is a delight – well, maybe not for the moose.

This hotel didn't make a good first impression, to be honest – the lobby looked somewhat shabby, the front desk was unstaffed when we arrived, and a sketchy-looking fellow was lingering off to the side – so it wasn't an auspicious welcome. We had trouble finding our room (room numbers are not clearly marked), and in the evening light, it appeared dim and aging. In the light of day, however, we discovered that the furnishings were fresh but "aged" by design, the room perfectly clean (and it had been quiet all night), and even the outside of the building looked nicer. By the end of our stay, we had grown fond of this hotel and we would happily stay again.

Nothing really

Dark and dingy, doors to the hotel were propped open all the time letting mosquitoes, flies and who knows what else in. Smoking area was located right outside our window. No elevator in hotel, parking lot in bad shape. Hotel wasn’t even listed in Apple Maps , which leads me to believed maybe the hotel had been closed recently. Breakfast was iffy at best, did not eat very much of it.

They have a free coffee making machine in the front lobby t hat makes amazing coffee and is probably the reason I keep coming back.

Staff is sometimes nowhere to be found.

Pool itself was nice. Staff provided me with a cable for my phone. Staff I was in contact with were very nice. Breakfast was delicious.

Hot tub didn’t work and was literally crumbling. Also, sign on pool door said open at 10 which was actually open at 7. The floor in the pool area was incredibly slippery, even when walking carefully I slipped.

Just wrapped up an awesome stay and it was a blast! The pool and hot tub were absolute highlights perfect for some serious splashing, relaxing, and all around fun vibes after a long day. So refreshing! The breakfast was also fantastic fresh, tasty. Super friendly staff and comfy rooms made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re in the area Would stay again in a heartbeat! 😊

The staff was extremely courteous and went above and beyond to make me and my friend comfortable

The one door that was near our room 125 was slamming constantly and it was very loud and so were the men working from out of town they were extremely disrespectful and yelling at the top of their lungs at 5:00 a.m.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out easy. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast offered a good variety of options.

Its unfortunate that the restaurant is now closed, very disappointing. All the TV channels were fuzzy, disappointing for the price. Water pressure in the shower very weak.

Friendly staff, greeted when I arrived, check-in was quick. Breakfast had good variety, liked that they had hard boiled eggs.

Old and grungy property. Carpet in room was very old and looked dirty furniture was scuffed and scratched. Lobby was dirty and out dated. Overall very disappointing for the price.

There was a hole in the wall behind the door which i am sorried they will say i did despite the handle being a different shape and there not being a simple door stop. The shower was held together with electrical tape. There was alot of hair in the drain and you could see pink algae build up around fixtures in the tub.

Wow. This was such a nice place to stay. Very rustic. Huge breakfast with actual glass plates. And real cutlery. They have a great coffe/tea bar. Nice pool. Definitely worth the stay. .

The rooms have been updated. Unfortunately the room we stayed in had a window that went no where, it was boarded up from the outside. So we had no natural light at all coming in. There was only 1 overhead light, a light on the desk and one in the bathroom. The pictures showed 2 beside the bed but we did not have them. The floor was a bit sticky in spots, as the glue was coming thru the cracks in the floor. The bathroom had paint in the trim. This room was not ready to rent out yet. I really wanted a hot tub after a long trip, unfortunately it was not in service and it was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. Otherwise the hotel was beautiful, quiet and the breakfast was decent.

Professional, personable and accommodating staff.

Not enough staff. Had to wait at front desk for 10 minutes for someone to show up and check me in. The shower didn’t drain so when I called to have it fixed the same person showed up to check on it and nobody fixed it.

Rooms were clean, beds comfy, bathrooms clean, decor nice, breakfast good. Older facility that was updated nicely.

Liked the rustic finish of the facility. Staff is very friendly. It was an absolute maze getting from the lobby to the room.

The desk clerk went out of his way to make sure we got a room. We were very tired and had only cash and no credit card. He explained that we could use our debit card to reserve online. Im not very good at doing things like that so he took my phone and did it for me. Extremely helpful.

This property is okay. Nothing great about it and nothing terribly wrong with it. It’s fine for a short stay though, as I now know, there are better options available in Fort Frances. What I do have a big issue with is the price gouging that they apparently practice. Our stay was for 2 nights, a Monday and Tuesday so not a weekend and not a holiday but the pricing was $189 for Monday night and $299 for Tuesday night. An increase of $110 or 58% overnight! I missed this when I made the booking so my bad there, but if this isn’t price gouging I don’t know what is. I understand the concept of yield management but this is nothing short of taking extreme advantage of the customer. My point is, if you are booking this property be very aware of this.

The bathroom door handle was broken and the barn door itself couldn't be pulled closed. And the bathroom was a very tight fit for my 6'7" husband. Breakfast was the worst I have experienced at a Choice Hotel. I understand this hotel is only 13 days old as a Choice Hotel, but . . . The layout was terrible; no one could figure out where to place dirty dishes - the sign was covered up by a stack of dirty plates (a STACK at 6:10?) The food was room temperature. There were no napkins to be found - I went back to the kitchen to get those. Most people were throwing their food in the trash.

Beds were comfortable and clean. Room had no window which was odd. Also hot tub was down, restaurant was closed and breakfast looked like it was 2 weeks old. Used to be a very nice place but seems to be going down hill
