Super 8 by Wyndham Fort Frances

We stayed from Friday till Sunday, and for some reason our room did not get cleaned on Saturday. We did have the do not disturb sign out Saturday morning , but it was removed by 12:00 pm, when we left. We returned around 8:00 pm and it had not been cleaned.

The staff was nice check-in was quick, but as I came down the hall, there was a giant garbage bag in the middle of the hall, happened to be adjacent to my door. The garbage bag sat for quite a while and was sticking of old pizza boxes. My toilet seat was melted and dirty. There was tiny little paper all over my floor a bobby pin so that tells me the maid did not do a good job vacuuming I had a king suite for the space was ample pillows were too soft.

Staff was super friendly. Rooms were very nice, a little dated. Breakfast was underwhelming, but not bad. Overall, very good stay.

We like staying here, but this time our room smelled very musty. Breakfast was good. Parking with a boat trailer is easy. Boston’s restaurant is good and easy to get to.

Hallways, room, lobby & breakfast area were nicely decorated and clean. The parking lot was in need of some repair, the perimeter was a little unkept, trash receptacles were overflowing, and a key card was left at a secondary entrance where unauthorize persons could use to enter.

Perfect for a quick trip to the north! I will be back!

My sister’s family and my family both stayed at this place. We were both given dirty rooms one had a bed that had an unmade bed and my sister’s room had someone’s eyelashes and makeup stuff still in the bathroom so we needed to get different rooms. The pool was out of service when we got there and they never had enough clean towels most days. Staff were friendly though. There was a domestic disturbance one night and on another night we came into the lobby where a lady had a bag of ice on her face and a black eye. I don’t think would stay here again.

I was very pleased with this Super 8. The front staff was welcoming and prompt. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept. We decided to leave a day early and the management couldn't have been more gracious and didn't charge us for the last day. We were able to park our boat and truck very easily and even plug the boat electrical into the wall socket on the hotel. How nice is that! Thank you so much Super8 Windham in Fort Frances, Ontario!!

I am a repeat customer, the service is great and the rooms are clean.

The stay was fine, the price is aggressive and the breakfast was lacking protein other than a boiled egg. For the little bit extra and based on a high price there should be a better breakfast.

The front desk person was so kind and welcoming! We did not need to make any additional requests as the room and hotel had everything we needed. And it was so clean!

Hotel does not have a fitness facility like before. Description states that fitness facility is available when booking - this should be revised to not mislead people when booking

The room was on the second floor. Right above the smoking area , anytime anyone smoked the air conditioner drew the smoke inside our room . Being a non smoker it was truly a terrible experience. When I spoke to the front desk they did not offer a solution. Next time I stay in Fort Frances, will not be staying there

It was a decent stay for a quick overnight. The hotel itself is well kept and clean. My only issue is the fact there were toys under the pullout couch that weren’t ours, (like right there at the front) the cushions on the couch were flipped over and the other side was stained, and found a juice box straw wrapper in a spot that should have been vacuumed so you know it wasn’t. It’s when the obvious things are found, you worry about the important little things for cleanliness. We always stay here though and this was the first of these findings.

The women at reception was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the floor we were on was nice and quiet. The only downfall were the beds were super hard the the one elevator they had was unreliable.

Great place, amazing breakfast included but the pool is so chlorinated it burns your skin, multiple people ended up with rashes that burned.

Very clean. Mattress keeps sliding forward when sitting up watching tv in bed.

We were allowed to have our grandkids from the area come join us for a swim in the pool..

We had a good stay and most things were great. However, I would not let my kids go in the pool. As soon as you walk into the pool area the chlorine was so strong that it hurt your throat and it would cause you to cough. Several of the other kids quickly got red, burning skin from the chemicals. It has been like that the past few years we have visited.

Our stay was great. We were there for a couple of nights and my daughter enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, with yogurt and fruit for me, and waffles or cereal for my daughter. Check-in and check-out was easy. Beds were comfortable and we liked that we had a minifridge in our room for leftovers.

Hotel has a nice shower area beside the pool which really makes post pool clean up convenient

The lobby area was unsafe with unauthorized people looking to steal from patrons.

I enjoyed my stay at Super 8, Fort Frances. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The building was clean and quiet and I slept well. I will stay again on my next visit to 'The Fort'.

I love that they allow pets.

House Hot tub by the pool was not working we also had a suite with hot tub in the room turned it on and hair and other stuff came out of the jets it was disgusting talked to the guy at the front deck said he would talk to the manager never heard a thing back from him.

Have stayed here for year's, customer service is great and friendly, and will return!!

Excellent management staff but short-staffed in housekeeping. Our room didn’t get “made-up” first morning…. No new towels, no beds made, no garbage emptied. Lack of staff. Excellent breakfast. Lovely pool but hot tub jets not working. Lots of parking.

We checked in late and the staff member was very nice. She had us all checked in very quickly. The only negative was breakfast. We have stayed here several times and this year breakfast was terrible. Waffle maker was broken, orange juice was watery, very little to choose from, garbage cans were filthy. There was a staff member in there but she didn’t seem to notice that they were out of nearly everything until someone asked. Otherwise, this is a great location, friendly staff, and we may stay again!

One of the best Super 8 hotels we have stayed at. They had a nice breakfast including hard boiled eggs. The rooms were updated and pool was nice

I love the walkability ,the breakfast and the pool although an adult hour would be nice. The hotel was clean but the staff decided to mop the entire lobby at 11am. I slid in on the floor and almost fell. No signage and a very wet mop, a better time choice is recommended.

Bathroom had a really bad urine smell that surrounded the room

Room and hotel have a very poor smell. I’ve never done this before but I had to change rooms. Second one wasn’t a whole lot better. Just unclean, old and smelly.

1st, I had to change rooms, I lost the indoor hottub I wanted, eventhough I had it booked for over a week, because of a staff member choosing to take it. Thats what I was told by the checkin staff. And 2nd, the bed and the frame are lacking. I now have to see a chiropractor because my backs been messed up sinse I slept there, as well as the bed kept sliding when I tried to prop my head up with pillows, nothing to keep your pillows from wedging down between the bed and headboard.

First time staying in Fort Frances, hotel was great. Always go with Super 8 if I can. Front Desk girl was welcoming and nice, room was clean and satisfactory. Will stay again if I find myself there.

Rooms very dusty on all counters, bathroom tub/shower dirty. Hair all over the floors. Beside train tracks with horns going all night

Great place!!

The attendant at the front desk was cooking bacon on a hot plate behind the desk when I arrived. It took a while to get his attention, and then he had to wash the grease from his hands before he could attend to my check-in. I've never had that experience at a check-in before - and the smell in the lobby wasn't the best either. Otherwise, everything was fine with my stay.

It was very noisy all night. There was people fighting in other rooms. There was three gentlemen that stripped down and jumped into the swimming pool with no proper swimming wear, and the bad part was there was kids around when these three adults were intoxicated, and jumped into the swimming pool in their underwear, I have brought it up to the front desk. The lady that I told she was just laughing about it as if it was funny and there was nothing wrong with it. My wife and kids did not feel safe at this location. I will not stay here again, and I was very disappointed.
