We had a wonderful stay at Tamu Koh Rong. We stayed in a sea view tent, and it was the perfect place to relax. Waking up with a view of the ocean every morning made our stay extra special. The staff were always kind, welcoming, and very helpful. They even assisted us with arranging our transport and made everything easy for us. The hotel has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and we truly enjoyed our time here. We would happily recommend Tamu Koh Rong to anyone visiting Koh Rong and hope to return someday.
tout était top ! Je recommande

The mosquitos were terrible. The beds had bugs and bite you all night.
The beach really look great and the food
Room old esp toilet didnt update
The staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We especially appreciated the restaurant staff, who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They did an amazing job and really made our stay more enjoyable. The location is fantastic and the beach is beautiful (in our opinion the most beautiful on the island). The overall vibe of the hotel is incredible, with tasteful architecture and design that creates a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was good (escpecially breakfast), and the drinks were excellent and reasonably priced.
The beach is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. As a result, there is quite a lot of wear and tear, and at times there were people on the beach who were loud, inconsiderate, and unfriendly. It might improve the experience if the hotel introduced a minimum spend to use the beach furniture, or reserved the loungers exclusively for hotel guests. The rooms are nice, but there are a few small details that could be improved. The shower water pressure in our jungle room was very weak and temperature is not adjustable. We did not expect luxury, but a bit more than a few drops at a time would have been appreciated (one can not use the sink/toilet/ shower simultaneously). In addition, the toilet does not have a door, which meant mosquitoes could easily gather in the toilet area at night. We were also picked up around 35 minutes late from our ferry and had to wait in the midday heat. Again, this was not a major issue, but it is exactly these small details that make a big difference to the overall quality of the customer experience.
Everything! It was our second time at Tamu and once again we loved it so much! Tamu meets our idea of Luxury: Wild yet comfortable, natural yet elegant. Can’t wait to be back! Thank you Ann and the whole team for your hospitality !
Alles in Ordnung
Great place to unwind!
A bit of a trek from Phnom Penh but you can’t change that (anyway, it’s worth it).
Wow location, super beach and sea. Friendly staff and efficient boat trip to get there.
Quite expensive by Cambodia standards and rooms far from lavish and site was slightly tired. Food offerings not as good as expected.

Anna was amazing and looked after us so well . We will definitely return and we absolutely loved all the staff , so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
All fabulous and any issue was immediately resolved by Anna .

Staff: friendly, accommodating, helpful. Location good: Quiet beach. Resort set among natural forests. Not too big.
Nothing to dislike regarding the resort, however issues with the organised snorkelling trip booked through the hotel. Set up for divers and competent snorkelling, based on location of dive site we were added to. My partner is a novice snorkeler and found it challenging, due to inexperience and currents. When he got into difficulty we could not attract the boats attention as staff too busy either fishing or on their phones, despite saying they would watch out for us. When we eventually made it back, the crew who helped us on board did not understand either English or French to make ourselves understood. Please all looking to booking this know your limitations.
Very friendly staff
The cleaning of the place is not ok. (I stayed in the room. I didn't choose the tent) Many cobwebs. Many dry insects have been dead for a long time and no one cleans. Dirty pool with many insects. The stairs to access the rooms don't have enough lighting and I twisted my ankle. To order food for those who are on the beach you have to walk to the reception for a RESORT doesn't make much sense. No one in the beach area to support when guests need it.
5* tent with spectacular view on the see & beautiful beach Very charming and welcoming staff giving lots of good tips Good restaurants in TAMU and 2 sisters hotels next door Excellent Khmer massage
Everything is nice here! Sleeping in a deluxe tent was a great experience. Super spacious, clean. Service adorable.
Only thing to make sure: seaview tents are not first line tents, those are the “Seafront” ones. Either way, none of them is directly connected to the beach.
The staff are incredibly kind and helpful They were always with a smile and ready to help :) Breakfast was really good!
We took the tent, but the zippers were faulty and we couldn’t close it properly and got mosquito bits all night… so we downgraded to the jungle room The Pool was full with bugs in the water and the water didn’t look clean. The restaurant on the property was the only option for lunch and dinner Was very pricey, portions weren’t really big and the taste wasn’t very good as well…
Amazing location & very relaxing atmosphere! Highly recommended!
Příjemný personál a klid e misto
An exceptionally good stay for relaxation. We particularly appreciated the excellent service provided by the staff, especially their unobtrusiveness. While we were enjoying breakfast, room service was already busy in the tent. The tents are very comfortable. Tamu Koh Rong offers the perfect blend of comfort and informality. And a wonderful beach. The organization of transfers to the island and to Phnom Phen was perfect.
The bathing slippers provided are too small for a tall European ;-)
The location is nice and feels private but also not isolated as you can walk to several other hotels via beach. The glamping tents were very well appointed and lots of fun. The dining and hang out area felt elevated and also relaxed - classier than the other hotels we saw on the island.
The weather was not cooperative with grey windy skies but that is not the hotel’s fault.
Very friendly and efficient staff
Everything was nice
Really amazing hotel, staff are so attentive and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was amazing with a view of the sea. Really quiet beachfront hotel perfect for a quiet getaway. After backpacking for 2 months and going to Nestival the night before this was the night of luxury that we needed. Massages and dinner Were lovely making us feel so looked after!
You are quite secluded which has its positives and negatives.
nice breakfast , nice place , beautiful view , nice pool
little bit far from the main centre.
Lovely property, very nice being able to walk everywhere barefoot in the sand. The food was great and a good price.
No complaints from me, I would say if you don’t like bugs then avoid the tents and book at room.
Wild but comfortable, a paradise!
The beach was perfect and the glamorous beach tents were fabulous - including a/c, robes/slippers and an outdoor shower! The staff couldn’t do enough for you and were extremely responsive on their WhatsApp number - booking the boat and return transfer for us, all added to our bill for ease of payment and great value! We did not venture far .. no need even though the adjacent resort was linked and we could use their facilities too - we much preferred Tamu for its simplicity and laid back vibe. The restaurant food and service was excellent!
Not much .. we had one tiny issue with the shower which was fixed immediately so even a very small negative turned out very positive!
Lovely property, the look and feel were really cool and we loved the feeling of being in the jungle along the river. The staff at the property were amazing, getting to know us and really going above and beyond to take good care of us. The food and drinks were good, and we loved sitting at the restaurant and enjoying the view of the river and surroundings - beautiful.
It's not right in Kampot - which has it's pro's and con's. There is a little lagoon/creek running through the property which could use a cleanup (the river itself was pretty clean, though occasionally some plastic refuse would float by - this is of course not the property's fault!). Food and drinks are definitely on the pricey end for the area, but also the food quality is also elevated and fancier generally.
Nice location on Padoga beach, we had tent no. 1 with seaview. Very nice wirh all you need for glamping. Good food & lovely staff. You can also eat in the sisterhotels like ayana. Super massage.
You need to know that all bathrooms are outdoor. I actually don‘t really like that. The price for koh rong is quite high.
Loved this place. First time in ages I really felt off the beaten track. Very quiet very simple but elegant resort. Small. We were in the tented rooms. Would say that only the front two are really “Seaview” but the rooms were great, with bathrooms outside the tent in the open air. Tents were spacious and air-conditioned set on large raised concrete platforms. I noticed other people had posted photos critical of the area around the tent but I felt that this was just leaving the natural environment as it was. I did think perhaps they could have concealed the sides of our tent in the same way they had the front front to improve appearance but that was a minor detail and didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the place. The bar restaurant area is all sand with benches and tables set in it which was lovely. The pool was great though we didn’t use it because we spent the whole time on the beach. Plenty of deck chairs for everyone, paddle boards available and a canoe see was amazing and the beach beautifully quiet. You can use facilities at their sister hotel about 100 m down the beach. We went there for great massages. They also organised scooter hire and taxis for us and we went across to the other side of the island which is where the party life is. Nice to wander around there but we enjoyed coming back to our hotel which felt much more exclusive and pampered. Little things I think the hotel could do is ensure that rubbish is picked up on the road out and that rubbish storage is hidden well behind bamboo screens like those they use on the sides of the tents? To be aware that the tinted rooms only come with king size beds and that if you want a twin option in those they will just put a foldaway bed in the corner so not really a fair split for those sharing probably better in that instance to take one of the forest rooms which looked great, although we didn’t actually go into them. Hotel was full whilst we were there but it really didn’t feel in any way crowded. There was plenty of space and the staff were all excellent. Food also some of the best we had on the trip, especially the breakfast fruit variety!
Fantastic tent fully Air conditioned and plenty of space with full view of sea amazing
All staff were fantastic Ann looks after us booking a scooter, plankton trip and ferry and car back to airport, Mean looked after us at meals and remembering our names from day one and the massage team Lina and I think Thea? Were amazing
We were warmly greeted by Anna, who really looked after all our needs, organized a scooter, bioluminescent plankton trip and our transport to get back to airport. Khmer massages were amazing, thank you to Lina for her magic hands. The beach is amazing with a good snorkelling spot by the rocks. Thank you Mean for looking after us and always remember ing our names. The tent was really cool. I did not want to go home .
The hotel is definitely the nicest on Pagado Beach and it wouldn't surprise me if it is one of the best on the island. It was quite comfortable if a little rustic. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The food was very ordinary and there were little other options to try as it is difficult at night to travel to other beaches/restaurants without hiring expensive tuk tuks. We tried the sister restaurant next door but the food there was even worse. After 4 nights we were very ready to leave. Overall the hotel is expensive for what you get. Sorry Tamu.
Quiet, quite small hotel connected with nature. The staff was so friendly and breakfast very good also. Seaview tent is so so nice, highly recommend
Such a cool experience glamping on Koh Rong! The team were all super friendly and the tents were great, really well done 👍🏼 The complimentary paddle board for use was awesome and the beach area so pretty amongst the palm trees. We had a moped so also went exploring to some of the other beaches on the island.
That we had to leave
Location was fantastic. Very close to pristine beach. Very clean. Very good food. Staff very nice and helpful. Private boat tour (snorkelling and fishing) very good. Scooter easy to rent to go around the island. Airport pick up / drop off and ferry to Phnom Penh very easy.
Nothing
The staff was very friendly
Light during the night shining in our tent
I feel compelled to share the distressing and deeply unsettling experience - I strongly advise potential guests to think twice before staying here. Upon arrival, it was evident that the tents we were staying in were neither secure nor able to be locked properly, despite reassurances from the staff. While this initially didn’t cause any immediate issues, being solo in my family in a separate tent, I felt uneasy and struggled to sleep during our stay. Unfortunately, my worst fears soon came true! On the evening of a full-day boat trip organized by the hotel, I returned to my tent at approximately 8:30 PM to discover that one of my rings – a highly sentimental item from my late father – was missing. It had been left alongside two others on a bedside shelf. Despite searching extensively and asking my family to help, the ring was nowhere to be found. When I informed the hotel staff, they refused to acknowledge the possibility of theft and repeatedly claimed I had “lost” the item. Things escalated further when my family discovered that several other high-value items had gone missing from their tents as well: AirPods, earrings, my ring, and a box presumably used to carry the stolen items. Shockingly, even tents that had been locked with padlocks were broken into, exposing how insecure the accommodations truly are. The following day, I was taken to the police station by the hotel manager – a harrowing and humiliating experience as a female foreigner. The focus remained on deflecting blame rather than addressing the theft. I was criticized for not using the safety deposit box or securing my tent properly, despite these glaring security issues being the hotel’s responsibility. The hotel also discouraged me from warning other guests about the theft, a red flag for any traveler concerned about safety. To make matters worse, the hotel outright lied and claimed that such an incident had never happened before. However, we later discovered that this was the third time such thefts had occurred. The same boy accused in this instance was reportedly caught just a few months earlier, carrying a safety deposit box out of a guest’s tent. It’s shocking that the hotel failed to inform us of this history, putting guests at further risk. Things took an even darker turn when the police claimed to have found our belongings +!apprehended a boy (initially said to be 6 years old, later revealed to be 13) as the culprit. This boy, under visible distress, was paraded in front of us and interrogated by four policemen for hours. It was clear he had nothing to do with the theft, yet the entire charade felt orchestrated to shift blame and cover up the incident. To add insult to injury, the police refused to return our stolen items – unless I retracted my statement of theft. Under duress and with no other option, I was forced to sign a Cambodian document using my fingerprints, which I couldn’t even read or understand. I was told that if I refused, the boy would be sent to prison. This entire ordeal has left me shaken and violated. Knowing someone rifled through our personal belongings – even breaking into tents that were locked – is deeply unsettling. The lack of accountability from the hotel, the fabricated narrative involving the boy, and the blatant disregard for guest safety are beyond unacceptable. The owner spoke to me multiple times and expressed his apologies, but I don’t believe he fully grasped the gravity of the situation. This goes far beyond inconvenience – it was a traumatic experience that highlighted severe security flaws, unethical practices, and an appalling lack of guest care. For the sake of your safety and peace of mind, I urge you to avoid this hotel. The experience was nothing short of a nightmare! The beach is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to but based on what happened to me and my family I would never return. It’s the first time (I’ve travelled extensively) that I felt totally unsafe
Such a serene spot. The feet-in-the-sand dining was lovely. The food pleasant, cocktails great. It was a beautiful spot and the section of beach with sun loungers, particularly lovely. Lunch on the loungers, particularly nice. An especially romantic spot for couples. The calm ocean is great for kids. Paddle boards great. We didn’t try the kayak. We happily fit one child in the tent with us. Some of the resorts nearby had bigger pools (including the sister resort, Ananya; also The One) for bigger kids. Just order a drink and let them play at any of the 7 pagoda beach resorts. You can eat breakfast at Tamu or Ananya. Ananya had more variety. I expected the food at Tamu to be better, considering it’s the most exclusive resort there, but it was still good. It’s also fun to try different resort restaurants. The One had a huge selection of food, so good for a visit. We rented scooters and visited Lily’s River Cafe in the north for lunch. Amazing, tranquil and laidback cafe with homemade baguette. Natura beach near Sok San, particularly lovely. All-in-all, a lovely, though not inexpensive stay. The tranquility of Tamu was worth it.
Nice staff and facilities
We’re staying at Anaya, the partner hotel to Tamu and for a change of scenery we opted to visit Tamu. I wish we hadn’t!! It was a truly awful restaurant experience which saw us waiting 2 hours for food and (after our bottle of wine which was to accompany dinner, was finished), when it finally arrived, it was the wrong order and the fish was raw. Staff seem to have no idea how to manage a “busy” restaurant of 8 tables and seated new guests who arrived 30-45 minutes after us, first. Do not recommend eating here - it’s the worst food I’ve had on the island during our 10 day stay on Koh Rong.
Tamu is like a little haven! Clean beach, relaxing vibe, great food! The staff are all very attentive and hospitable. The island was very quiet which made it feel as if we booked a private resort :) Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was exactly what my overworked self needed! Anne was also great at assisting us deal with a Buva Sea ferry crisis!
Nothing! Our stay was perfect!
The private beach, idyllic location and large comfortable tented villas are great. Nice to have a swim in the beautiful pool after a day at the beach. The staff is very friendly.
All the staff was very lovleyAll the staff was very lovely, friendly and helpful. Always had a smile on their face and did their best to make our stay a great experience. For sure the “glamping” experience in the tents is something very special and we enjoyed fully. The beach is vey nice, quiet and definitely not crowded. Best location to relax and enjoy!
nothing to mentione
The food, location and overall maintenance of the place is amazing
1. Property could be a bit more clean, and something can be done to keep away the reptiles lurking around the rooms. 2. Washrooms can have jet sprays along with toilet papers.
I was at the Tamu Hotel 3 nights in Nov. 24. I expected service and room quality at the level of the price, 170USD/day paid by the Agency, Asian Road. The room was poor, dark light inside, no fridge (isopor bax instead wiyhoiu ice!), no table, surrounding not clean, no boiling pot (see pics). Dozens meter above a chicken coop which make me enjoy the rooster crow from 1AM... Paying 100USd per day would have been acceptable. 170 is indecent.
Loved the laid back atmosphere and great service. Great to have Anaya as a sister location which gave additional choice. Ann and the staff were fantastic - you only had to think of something and it was done. Location was perfect with the shade of the trees if required. We had a Jungle room which was close to the reception and was perfect. Would love to try one of the tents next time!
A bit lazy but thought a intercom system or buzzer for placing orders from the beach might be useful.
Dined here for dinner on a four night stay at neighbouring You&Me - staff so friendly, really tasty food that was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and return. Walk down the beach and give it a visit if you’re looking for a change of scenery!
We had a very happy 4 night stay at Tamu and stayed in a sea view tent. It was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is very friendly and the food delicious..we didn’t eat anywhere else. There is plenty of natural shade under the palm trees and the sea is stunning. One request is to upgrade the facilities such as the paddle boards and kayaks, which were almost impossible to use, as was the rented bike. Apart from this … a relaxing and lovely holiday.
Loved our time relaxing at Tamu. Powdery white sand and the warmest waters ever. Staff super helpful and the tents in a jungley setting were fun! Only 4 stars as a couple of things needed a little bit of maintenance (sunloungers, concrete in bathroom) but for a 3 star resort it ticked all the beachy boxes! Thanks to everyone.
I had a wonderful time, Anne was attentive and made sure we had the best time while on the Island. I would really recommend to stay in this wonderful location. We came out being really really relaxed
Wifi could be improved, but they are already working on it. Also nature will make you forget about it :)
This is a boutique hotel in the most gorgeous location on Pagoda Beach. We really liked our tented accommodation which had a fabulous sea view. This is next level glamping! The staff were absolutely phenomenal and couldn’t do enough for us. They were very attentive and worked so hard to keep the property clean and tidy raking the beach every day etc. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary whilst we were there and were offered some free cocktails on arrival which was a lovely gesture.
We found the bed quite uncomfortable and would have like some more soft seating in the pool and bar area.
The atmosphere was magical, inside the nature
Staff was super helpful with transportation, and the amenities and location were wonderful.
Excellent stay....Tamu is located in the less busy part of the island with beautiful beachfront views..... Cozy and well maintained cottages , very good food and friendly and helpful staff. Tamu is excellent choice for a relaxed beach vacation.
Beautiful beach with amazing staff
Really different stay here looking at the sea in a sea view tent, was really magical and a fantastic experience. The staff here are a real credit to the place, nothing is too much trouble. It really is a paradise and so quiet and tranquil. Some days we were the only ones by the beach or pool, some amazing memories with my daughter.. ❤️
A mini fridge in room with drinks making would be my only comment. But amazing place I would definitely stay again!
Beautiful location - a beach front paradise. Unique accommodation in tents. Simple elegant breezy eating and drinking and gathering space. Great breakfast and coffee.
Menu options for lunch and dinner need a refresh. Food not always good value. Menu options quite limited.
We had a great time. Everybody was taking care about us in the best way possible. It was a peace of paradise between the nature and every services which are provide by the hotel. One of my Best part of my travel in Cambodia
