Reviewed May 28, 2026IT WAS IN A GOOD LOCATIONS FOR WHY WE VISITED THE AREA. THE ROOMS AND SIDE WE WERE ON WAS NEW AND CLEAN. THE AC WORKED WONDERFULLY. WE LIKE A COLD ROOM AND IT WAS PERFECT. ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND I ALWAYS LIKE HAVING A FRIDGE.
JUST A FEW THINGS I NOTICED THAT COULD BE IMPROVED. THE CURTAINS, THOUGH NICE, DID NOT KEEP THE MORNING SUN OUT. DEFINITELY NEED ROOM DARKENING CURTAINS. I WANTED TO TELL THE FRONT DESK THIS BUT UPON CHECK OUT NO ONE WAS THERE. WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT AND WERE WALKING SO WE LEFT THE KEY ON THE DESK AFTER RINGING THE BELL. THE SHOWER HEAD WAS BROKEN AND SPRAYED WATER EVERYWHERE. I TRIED TO ADJUST IT BUT IT MUST BE REPLACED. HAVING A FIRMER PILLOW WOULD BE NICE AND MAYBE MATTRESS TOPPERS. IT TOOK US A BIT TO FIGURE OUR HOW THE LIGHTS WORK. THERE IS A SWITCH YOU HIT NEXT TO THE DOOR WHICH IS A MASTER SWITCH.

Reviewed Apr 26, 2026Sehr freundlicher Empfang, Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür, es war sogar möglich einen Stellplatz mit Ladesäule vorher zu reservieren. Zimmer wirklich schön mit Blick in den Garten. Ausstattung alles vorhandnen auch ein Wasserkocher mit Tee und Instant Kaffee. Die Lage war für mich passend, da ich ein Fahrrad dabei hatte, auch hierfür war ein Garage mit Lademöglichkeit für E-Bikes vorhanden. Bis in die Innenstadt war es allerdings zu Fuß recht weit.
Einziger Mangelpunkt war die Größe des Bades. Es war alles sauber und gut eingerichtet. Aber die morgendliche Dusche war für einen Person mit 190cm und 100 kg schon eine Herausforderung.

Reviewed May 8, 2025Although it on the outskirts of the city it is a lovely, friendly hotel where you are made to feel really welcome. The rooms are kept really clean and well maintained. It is quite close to the University and about a 10 minute walk from the station. You have to walk into the city for food. About a 20 minute walk. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Reviewed Nov 16, 2024A haven of tranquility, hospitality and kindness, the owners here go over and above the ordinary. My husband had a stroke while visiting, and I have been well-cared for here. My every need and request has been provided. The wonderful breakfast helped me fuel for my walks to the hospital. Each morning I was greeted as if I were family, and the compassionate care I've received here is second to none. The hotel is spotlessly clean and pleasant with comfy beds and pillows, and my every need has been met. I couldn't possibly recommend the Zollamt with any higher praise. If I could give 10 stars, I would certainly do so. It's such a unique experience to find a privately run hotel with such attention to detail and care for each customer.

The hotel is owned by a company and the lady in particular was very rude to her staff. I found this very off putting.

Small bathroom with small shower The property is advertised as a 4 star design hotel but it's more like a guesthouse with a nicer lobby. It's in a residential area well out of the city centre. It's strongly overpriced for what it is.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2024They asked if I would like to see the available rooms when checking in. I chose not to and took the first available room which was small compared to another I saw later. Recommend checking the available rooms when checking in if possible. The staff were nice consisting of a couple who own the motel. There is a nice eating area that has a modest continental breakfast. The is a small seating area in the check-in area. Metro station is a 15-20 minute walk from the motel.

My wife didn't like the breakfast. The breakfast and hotel are pretty expensive for what they offer. Better not to take their breakfast offer. There are many places to eat outside.

Reviewed Jun 25, 2020Professioneller und sehr freundlicher Empfang (wie man es leider in so manchem Hotel unterschiedlicher Klassen) nicht erlebt), wurde vor Anreise kontaktiert um auch relativ späten Checkin sicherzustellen. Sehr ordentlich und nett eingerichtet. Super Lage als Bahnreisender, 10 min zu fuss von Südausgang des Hbf. KL und mehrere Supermärkte um die Ecke! Mein Zimmer hatte auch einen Balkon als i-Tüpfelchen

Reviewed Jan 18, 2020My first time in Germany was simply breathtaking. I spent 3 months on a work project and my reactions were WOW! The small town of Kaiserslautern was amazing. Plenty of shops and food and adult beverages of all kinds for everyone to enjoy. The hotel was cozy and very well kept. The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist. The manager, who I can't remember her name to save my life, was splendid! She made sure we all had our needs met. The breakfast was amazing. May I remind you, there are very limited rooms with a/c. But with the nice weather, there was no need for an a/c. I highly recommend Hotel Zollamt.
