Each floor has a cute theme, staff friendly great location
Breakfast was expensive and not good
Kyle that checked us in was super fun, great guy, got us free water and a cookie. Room was great, was trendy and comfortable and the hotel was convenient to all the things we wanted to walk and do the entire time.
someone in a neighboring room woke me up at like 3am fighting one night and I could hear every word so that was super annoying. I couldn't tell where it was coming from but they fought for a long time and I couldn't sleep listening to it.
staff very pleasant
early coffee in lobby
the themed room was a fun and unexpected surprise
Loved it! Wonderful fun decor ! Great area, yummy breakfast included.
Didn't eat breakfast
No hot water. Pipes rattled in the wall
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful! Even got a text message wondering if the stay is going well and if there was anything they could assist us with. The rooms were cute and I loved how creative the themes were. If i had a hotel I would 100% do something like that. Everything was cleaned to a respectable standard (however I dont think the cleaning people can see the little shelf in the high corner of the shower.) The cookies were great too! Loved the parking garage. The location is PERFECT for downtown activities. The restaurant attached is very very good.
There really isnt alot you can do with some things that come with an old building like that. The ac was noisy but worked. The tvs volume diddnt go up very high but probably for the better. The walls seem thin but our neighbors were courteous. The pillows were so cushy but could definitely use a firmer one behind it for support. The blankets on the bed were very thin. For the minor drawbacks I dont think the experience was bad at all.
Upon check in I immediately knew some of the reviews were accurate. There were water or other marks on a table leftover from the previous person, food crumbs on the carpet and debris on the floor in the bathroom. Some charcoal looking stuff on the shower ledge. The sink counter and toilet seat looked clean. Luckily I travel with disinfectant wipes so I just wiped everything down. What really drew the line for me was opening the bed up to find stuff on the bottom sheet. Called down to the front desk and about 30 min later someone showed up to first inspect, then disappeared again, returned again with the sheet they should have brought in the first place, threw off the top covers and put them on the floor, put the pillows on the air conditioning unit that I hadnt wiped off, and went to replace the bottom sheet only to find it had something on it also and had to come back. Then the person put the blanket from the floor back on my bed with the pillows and just left. They didnt speak much English but I was upset all over again from having stuff on the bed from a clearly unvacuumed floor. At this point the standards were apparent and I wasnt sure moving rooms would be any better so I just took out the travel lysol and sprayed the bedding and pillows. While that aired out I showered and it was cold. Turning to hot did nothing but make it lukewarm, however the shuddering noise in the wall was discomforting. The decor here is pitched as eclectic but feels like its trying too hard and not quite succeeding. Its more like lipstick on a pig. Yes, reviews that the elevators are slow are also true. Its also true that the walls are thin. As I write this its 330am and I am awake because the neighbors tv is on and I can clearly hear it through the wall over the fan. About the only bright spot has been the attached Corner Office restaurant where I had decent food one day. Would not stay again and definitely wouldnt bring a family here due to those wandering or staying on the streets all around.
The location is excellent for walking around downtown Denver.
Property was good.
It’s centrally located, walkable and has its own parking garage
It is overly kitschy, the rooms are renovated but still feel worn and the staff is slightly more concerned with their phones and entertaining each other than the guests
Best location in Denver!
Clean, inviting decor, friendly staff, fun atmosphere & safe.

Our family had a fantastic stay at the Curtis. I was apprehensive to book here because of the many bad reviews, but I’m glad I did. The rooms, halls and lobby are themed and it is fun. The restaurant/bar is very good and the gym was quite large for a hotel of this size. Other reviewers complained about the elevators and loud air conditioners. The elevators were no problem and although the air conditioner was loud, it wasn’t a problem for us. I think this is an old hotel building that Hilton refurbished and it still has a few old hotel quirks, but otherwise it’s wonderful for the location, price and amenities.
Location was good
Phone didn't work Fridge didn't work No cold water at bathroom sink Nothing to do at the hotel Parking very expensive
Location, the decor
The hotel was cute and central
I got a different room than what I booked for and would not be moved, and the elevator system is very slow throughout the day.
I travel a ton for business and this has to be the most disappointing hotel stay I’ve had. The room had an overall grimy feel. The room and bathroom felt dirty and rundown. The decor was odd and felt like a cheap way to add lipstick to a pig. I was not able to get hot water in the shower every time I tried both the last night and final morning I was there. Finally, the walls are so thin that I had to hear the person in the room next door throwing up while I was trying to sleep. Imagine being woken up to that. I will say that the gentleman at the front desk when I checked in was very polite and accommodating. Also, the bar and restaurant were nice, food was good, and bartenders were fun.

My wife and I loved everything about it, from the time we walked into the door to the time we left the next day... loved how everything was put together, every floor was different
I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE... INCREDIBLE FOR YOUNG AT HEARTS AND VERY FAMILY-ORIENTED
Emplacement
L'accueil pas top ! Aucun effort pour nous expliquer à la réception. Chaussette sale sous le fauteuil sans doute d'un ancien client, preuve que le ménage n'était pas bien fait.
Good location, walkable to most places. All the floors had a different theme which was fun to explore. While parking had a separate charge, staff were accommodating to let us park for longer beyond check out.
Nothing
La limpieza y ubicación.
Espera un concepto más extraordinario y una habitación con mayor influencia artística
The location is amazing! I love the quirky themes and the Spotify play list for each floor. My family had to switch rooms a few times due to situations beyond our control due to AC issues. The Curtis staff, specifically Alison, went above and beyond. Honestly each room was clean-no problems with any sanitation issues mentioned in previous reviews. We did have problems with our AC. It was rattling and always running. It was almost 100 degrees every day we were in Denver so turning it off wasn’t an option. Honestly, with air pods or ear plugs our family slept really well. Alison was very quick to problem solve the AC concerns. The neighborhood surrounding hotel felt safe at night. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel! We will be staying here again!
This place is a dump. Black mold in the shower because there's no bathroom ventilation. The AC might would help if it wasn't around 70 db when its on. Despite being on the 11th floor you still get to hear people screaming on the streets below after getting robbed. If you don't get that experience then you can easily listen in to the conversations of the rooms around you. One-star hotel at best. Cheap, tacky and a waste of money. If you're forced to stay at this one-star motel that bought a 4-star rating somehow then bring earplugs and medicine for respiratory illness.
Appreciated the early check in
This isn’t the hotel itself itself, but it did affect our stay. We experienced a domestic situation on our floor, a couple was yelling at each other, cussing and into an altercation in/out of their room, at times in the hall. We called the front desk and notified them but it continued for another 30 minutes. No follow up as to if was taken care of - that was a little disappointing as to how it was handled.
Convenient; good breakfast
AC sounded like a jet engine turning on and off all night. Impossible to sleep through. We had to shut it off. Water temperature only comes scalding hot. You have to play with sink and shower for 10 min before you can get a temperature that doesn't burn you. But worst of all we had what felt like a near death experience on elevator. Loud noise and air whooshing as we went down 14 stories. Get to lobby to find 3 fire fighters and a receptionist saying everything's OK. Didn't feel OK. The staff was nice but the building should be condemned. Given the price, this all felt a little ridiculous.
Very friendly staff and location was exceptional.
The smell was odd.
Hôtel très bien décoré, original. Pas loin du centre de Downtown et de Larimer Street Restaurant dans l'hôtel. Chambre spacieuse et claire
Personnel à l'accueil froid et ne font pas l'effort de parler plus lentement Très impersonnel
Cool vibes and comfortable rooms with nice little extras. Great restaurant on property
Rooms were on the small side
Great groove!

Amazing front desk staff. Love the decor! Love the fresh baked cookies and complementary bottled water. Beds were very comfortable! Location is wonderful. I stay here every time I come to Denver.
No negative comments here
Staff was fantastic and the rooms cute and in great condition. Convenient in-house food and beverage options, including discount at chain coffee joint around corner. Overall fun and pleasant visually and atmosphere-wise. The creative design adds so much and all the technology in rooms (screens, plugs, Bluetooth door locks) worked nicely.
The elevator kept stopping at random floors. Toilets slow to flush and an ice machine died and partially flooded a hall. They were quick to address that particular issue. I just was left wondering if it’s possible the upgrades are all superficial and key infrastructure at a deeper layer has yet to be addressed. Restaurant seemed needlessly pricey.
Hotel was fine and clean. Room bright and cheery. Good location and a great evening in Denver Dazzle. Breakfast was good quality and all staff polite and helpful. We were given water whenever we asked. Foyer colourful and fun. 2 issues we had - the lifts need upgrading, mornings were silly, lifts were full and guests often press the buttons for each lift on every floor causing all lifts to be called for one person, lifts then stop at every floor to find no one there. We found some guests impatient and tried to squash too many people and bags in the lift. Subsequent hotel had a smart system for the lift where only one lift can be called, which is needed at the Curtis. Second issue - Parking was fine and very useful but $45 a night parking fee a surprise. Overall I would stay here again but please review the lifts.
Loved the staff and the hotel style it was clean and quirky. Loved it
There was nothing I did not like.
The staff were lovely and the lobby was cute. Unfortunately those were the highlights. We upgraded to one of their larger suites, the newly remodeled waka waka room, it was dreadful. We have a medically complex kid and we need space and light. This had space but that’s about it. The only lighting in the room was neon. The room was weird in all the wrong ways. The “king” size bed had a frame that was 4in too big all the way around. The floor was the ugliest print and made it impossible to find anything on. The shower had zero pressure. The elevators were slow beyond belief. The final straw for me was the absolute lack of cleaning. We didn’t have the cleaners come in every night but when we finally wanted them too, I went to the front desk to request it. I tidied up our stuff and even stripped the bed and towels. We got back and NOTHING was cleaned. The bed had new sheets but was not made all the way. Zero floor or counter surface was cleaned. Toilets not cleaned. Glasses and most towels not replaced. Shower not cleaned. I called down to notify the desk and they said they would send someone to clean. I asked that they wait until we left for dinner. I let the desk know when we were out of the room and when we returned…. Still nothing cleaned! I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.
The Location was perfect, restaurant was very good.
There was only a steamer in the room, an iron and ironing board would have been nice.
The location is perfect and near everything. The rooms are very fun with each level of the building having a "theme" to it.
No concerns.

I love that every floor was a different theme and the areas of the hotel was great because you had access to many places
I have no dislikes
Aaliyah at the front desk is extremely rude. Based on that alone, I would never stay at this hotel
Great location!
The lady with highlights at the front desk was so rude- every single interaction. When I called to inquire about check out she hung up on me. I will never be back because of the way I was treated, and my wife was ready to leave that evening.
The hospitality of all of the employees.
The location of the toilet paper is hard for a chunky person like myself.
They gave me a late check out
Nothing
Writing this on behalf of my clients. They had an awful stay- 3 nights of hell. Barely any water pressure, cleanliness / housekeeping was non-existent. They did not have room service available, dog poop on the floor and never cleaned up the whole stay. The elevators stop at every floor no matter what. The "breakfast" included was just grab and go and you needed to present vouchers. Apparently they are allowing students stay there so its more of a hostel / dorm type of vibe. 100% not worth the price. Will not ever book again
The location was great for the purpose of the visit. Staff was accommodating.
There check-in system was not smooth. Another couple was given our room (after we checked in) and they ended up walking in on us getting dressed for our evening out. Embarrassing for all parties (the hotel did comp the $45 parking fee). The shower was also lukewarm and never reached a comfortable temperature. We expected better from a hotel that caters to guest that are there to attend performances at the Denver Performing Art Center.
The AC was very loud; I had it turned off for most of the stay.
The discount for food and drink and the staff given snacks.
How expensive it was and the homeless outside. And the slow elevation

We're traveling with 30 high schoolers visiting colleges around Colorado. Because of all the red tape when paying for out of state travel with public schools, we lost our first hotel. Sierra at The Curtis jumped at the opportunity and was extremely thorough finding out all of our needs to put together the right package for us. She was so thoughtful and helpful when we ran into issues getting things worked out on our side with the school district. Jaemy worked efficiently with my changing room assignments and Haliegh made sure all of our final details were perfect. When it came time to check-in, it was so incredibly organized! Each guest had their own envelope with their room information. The check in process was so easy! The front desk personnel was wonderful. Sarah and the person with her (I can't remember her name 😢) were so kind to us. The themed floors were so fun. The students and chaperones all enjoyed the fun little things awaiting around each corner and down every hallway. We would highly recommend The Curtis to anyone staying in Downtown Denver!
I had a very disappointing and honestly unacceptable stay at The Curtis Denver – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. I stayed for about a week, and the housekeeping and cleanliness standards were far below what anyone would expect — especially from a Hilton property. Here is a clear breakdown of the issues: • Floor Cleanliness The floor was not vacuumed at all during my stay. While there may not be large visible trash, there were always small particles like dust, tiny bits of tissue, and general debris. It was very clear that no actual vacuuming was being done. There was also no sense of freshness — the room never smelled clean. • Bed & Linen Condition (Extremely Poor) The bed was in a constantly unacceptable condition. It was not properly made at all — it looked wrinkled in a very obvious and careless way, as if no real effort was put into it. The blanket was just thrown back loosely, not tucked, not straightened, and visibly creased from all sides. The sheets underneath were not adjusted or smoothed out — they remained messy and uneven. The pillows were even worse — they were not arranged properly at all. Instead of being neatly aligned, they looked like they were randomly tossed onto the bed. Pillowcases were poorly fitted and added to the overall sloppy appearance. The entire bed looked disorganized and unpresentable every single day — not even close to the standard of any normal hotel. Most importantly, none of the bedding (sheets, pillowcases, etc.) was changed at all during my entire stay, regardless of how long I stayed. The bed always looked crumpled, neglected, and simply unpleasant. • Housekeeping Service & Hygiene Concerns Housekeeping response was very poor — requests were ignored or handled very slowly. On one occasion, housekeeping entered the room and still did not clean it properly. What was even more concerning is that they placed a used cleaning cloth on the surface where guests are expected to prepare coffee, tea, or even place food. That cloth did not appear clean, and there is no way to know where it had been used before (bathroom surfaces, floors, etc.). This is extremely unhygienic and raises serious concerns about cross-contamination and the spread of bacteria. Additionally, there was no restocking of basic items like coffee or tea. When requested, I was told to go downstairs and get them myself due to limited staff — which is unacceptable. • Bathroom Cleanliness & Supplies The bathroom was not properly cleaned. Towels were not placed correctly and were often just left on the sink counter instead of being arranged properly. There was no restocking of essentials like soap or tissues. Overall, the bathroom lacked basic hygiene standards and attention to detail. • Overall Experience & Staff Attitude The overall experience was extremely frustrating. The level of cleanliness and service does not reflect the standards expected from a Hilton hotel. Staff attitude was dismissive, and it felt like guest concerns were not taken seriously. ⸻ Final Verdict: This was a very poor and frustrating experience from start to finish. The lack of cleanliness, poor housekeeping practices, and unacceptable hygiene standards made the stay uncomfortable. As a tourist, I expected much better. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
We had a mountain view room and it was wonderful! The size was adequate and the bed quite comfortable. It was different not having any chest of drawers, just shelves, but it certainly fit the bill. Fun decorations with each floor being a different theatre movie theme! The restaurant for breakfast was delicious, and I recommend the cookies!
The battery on our safe was out, so we couldn't lock up any valuables. The shower curtain didn't quite fit, so the floor got wet. But, other than that it was perfect for our stay.
Great location near the Denver Arts Complex and just a short walk to the 16th Street Mall. Very friendly and responsive staff.
The parking garage is a littlle strange but convenient. You come in and put on opposite sides and those leaving didnt seem to know that causing a backup. I knew I had to oay for parking and it I'd a little expensive but worth it.
Posizione ottima per raggiungere la Ball Arena, ma anche comoda per alcune aree di shopping e ristoranti.
l'impianto di riscaldamento e raffrescamento è molto rumoroso e poco modulabile
Lobby and restaurant was nice
Water preasure was bad and water went cold. Hallways are cold. No parking for larger vehicles
The location was great. You’re near the theaters (Buell and Bellco), Larimar Square, Convention Center and 16th St Mall. Loved the restaurant in the hotel - The Corner Office Restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.
They couldn’t help this, but one of the elevators was down.
LOVED the personality and fun aesthetic
Nothing!
Location and awesome staff!
Parking expensive
The rooms were fun and whimsical, great location. Comfy bed, good breakfast. Parking was convenient, felt safe.
Bathroom was dingy feeling, extremely slow elevators - get it, its an old building, but 15 minute waits is frustrating.
The creativity of the hotel, Breakfast was amazing! Once on-site, the hotel staff was warm and available.
Before check-in, I couldn't reach the front desk. I tried sending an electronic message and I tried calling 7 times. I had questions about accessing the hotel with limited mobility and there was no assistance.

Property was fun and unique and close to the venue. Other than that room was clean and spacious. And the extras like free water, cookies, and two free beverages was a great addition!
Elevators would stop on every floor or at random.
The themed rooms are super fun and cute
Parking isn't free
The eclectic atmosphere The staff The food
The beds in the room were not very comfortable and a peculiar smell
DO NOT BOOK!!! stayed here 12/19-12/22. They charge a $75 "resort fee" for a free mocktail or cocktail every day of your stay, and they charged a $150 incidental hold on my card. They overcharged me after saying they wouldn't charge me the $75 fee and I had to call to get the overcharges removed. When I called, there was no apology at all and she didn't seem to care. The rooms are not mediocre, they are childish, stinky, with no tables to eat at. My walls were dirty. The beds are literal fold away beds with the most uncomfortable mattresses ever. The elevators took forever coming and going. The family and friends rates don't match this hotel at all. They told me in so many words that because I booked on family and friends that I should be ok with the rates. I would never come back here. I am very disappointed in Hilton for even putting their name on this location. It's giving poor, stinky, and lackluster customer service from the front desk. I asked a young lady her name and it took 3 times before she told me. I am giving 1 star because I can't give a 0.
Proximity to DCPA, themed rooms, decorations, restaurant, cookies!
Hallways were very hot...
Hotel staff was friendly.
Parking. Garage smelled really badly. If you're staying at the hotel, you should not be charged for parking.
The rooms, locations, and staff
The elevators. They took forever and then would stop on every floor. :/
The location and staff were great!
Booking over booked the hotel and we had one queen bed for 3 adults and 2 kids. They gave a roll away but it was only a twin. We had to sleep myself and the kids on it. Very uncomfortable. Also I had an extra $75 charge on my credit card after our stay.
Staff was great and the food was so good we never left.
The nickle and dime of all the costs.
Emplacement, ambiance, concept, restaurant
Water didn’t get hot, bathroom door doesn’t lock, our fridge didn’t work, our toilet stopped flushing, no full length mirror, and the coffee is pitiful. I feel scammed by this place the rooms were tiny, there was no other space to get ready except the bathroom, the hallways were narrow asf and elevator did what it wanted. I feel scammed. I’ve been to cheaper hotels that had way better service and amenities. This place is so overhyped. Look elsewhere.
This hotel is billed as being eclectic. Basically that means they visited the kids ministry of a local church and extended the theming to the hallways and rooms of this hotel. Prepare to feel like you are in a local preschool. The rooms are small, bathrooms are motel quality with guests throughout complaining of no hot water. The elevators are a mess and often take 5+ minutes to arrive. Once inside, the elevator stops at almost every floor. The hotel has added an "Amenity Fee." Basically they charge you $25 a day for the free WIFI you already received. The free cookies you already received. Bottle water, that most hilton honors already received. And the option of 2 glasses of lemonade a day. This is just a way to advertise rooms at a lower cost and collect more at check in. We will be skipping this hotel in the future and find one that delivers the value we expect from a Double Tree level property.
The staff is ALWAYS top notch. The floor themes are cool.
The elevators are horrible.
Absolutely abysmal. This place should be shut down for safety violations. It's essentially uninhabitable w having no hot water. How this has 4 stars is beyond me. It's worse than any motel 6 I have been to. After having no hot water, and then ALL water turned off for several hours, my wife went to the front desk and they couldn't offer us anything last a free water bottle. Then she tried to go back to the room, and got TRAPPED in the elevator. The fire department had to come out to release her. This has happened 3 times in the last week alone. I called and spoke the the fire chief directly. The call button in the elevator also didn't work so if my Wife didn't have her cell phone she could have been trapped for hours. Place needs to be shut down ASAP. I'll be reversing the charges on my credit card
